Woodturning - Rooty Firewood to Beautiful Vase

- In this woodturning video I will transform a firewood tree root into and beautiful looking hybrid vase. This fully air-dried root has some much character but certainly needed an artistic eye to rescue from fire and give another chance to live longer. With the help of some epoxy resin I was able to turn this project around and make something very modern and decorative piece.

It's been a long time, but I remember working on the lathe making tables, vases, foot stools, etc., all that cutting, gluing, sanding, etc. Very rewarding work. You do great work. Very nice.

My dad used to have a lathe. My brother got into woodworking with it.
His wife would suggest he make her a particular item (a simple, Ford-type item) and he'd present her with a Cadillac! A true artist!! 😊

Beautiful ! I've always been fascinated by things made on lathes. I wondered how you would fill in the gaps. What gets mixed with the hardener? I have some idea by doing bodywork how the mixture reacts and hardens, just wondered what you use.
