Yes for 'cooking' boiling water is ok as it doesn't react with water or water vapour at any temperature. Cooking realeases the juices present in vegetables/meat which have all kinds of acids. This will form poisonous salts and the heat supplied will worsen it. Copper is used to purify water as well. So, the modder has done their research but you haven't.

Idea: different biomes increase or decrease your thirst, plains and (woodlands? Dark oak wood? I forgot) would have a normal level of thirst decreasing but wetter biomes slow it down and dryer ones increase it, especially with armor if it’s hot,
*it’s deadly to sleep thirsty in the badlands, desert, or beach*
I fell asleep when i was extremely thirsty once, worst mistake of my life, i woke up with my lips stuck together and a fever
if a thirst bar was a thing, i thinl it should manage the sprinting side of things, and the hunger bar could be repurposed for health regen

There should be a buff that starts at exactly 3:00 am in-game and ends at 4:00 am that makes it to where any water, no matter what kind, gives you unlimited water until 4:00, then it’ll continue as normal because water at 3:00 am hits different
