Khan sir, I'm about 45, most of my study & working life spent by train journey, I never think what, why, how about train or rail and definitely I hadn't so much knowledge about track n rail. Sir you are great, and your explanation attitude is so easy .....

Guard rail on bridges is to prevent train to fall off the track and into side pit or over the bridge. In case of derailment on top of bridge, even if wheels jump off rails, the at least one side wheels get caught within the guard rail and main rails. So the train will halt within sleepers and rails in case of derailment.
