I disagree with you conclusion but I absolutely respect and appreciate your perspective and how you articulated it. I have embiid as the favorite because to me being three games behind the bucks is a case for Giannis it isn’t the whole picture especially when embiid is at third almost 2nd in the league. I think Giannis has had just as much if not more help as embiid from teammates considering brook my be the dpoy, jrue is a two way all star this year(over harden) they have two way big wings all over the place. Not to say Philly doesn’t have a supporting unit but they are far more too heavy and after maxey everyone becomes more of a specialist than the guys on the bucks. Head to head so far this year not only has embiid won 2 of 3 but he’s out played Giannis those two wins particularly at the end, not by a mile but decisively. And I feel as though Joker’s recent slump as far as team success is more of a testament to his inability/unwillingness to takeover a game with his scoring win his team his clearly weaning before it’s too late and obviously he can’t make it up on the other end like those other two guys. I’ve just seen too much from Jojo this year that says he’s been the best player this year.
This is what it's all about! I appreciate you saying those things. And yep, I totally respect all the points you just made. I obviously didn't spend too much time going down the list of go-to guys that Giannis has but everything you said is super fair. I think the stretch earlier on in the season where they both (Jrue and Khris) were in and out of lineups a lot and Khris was on restricted minutes was a big factor for me. I agree with the specialist thing after Maxey although I would argue occasionally Tobias Harris can be a more primary ball-handler/scorer and go for like 25+ easily. And as far as the Joker stuff goes... I think you really hit the nail with the thing about him not taking over games with his scoring ability when it's needed, especially considering he can't do that on the other end. Something I also didn't mention was Philly's schedule closing out the rest of the season. It's gonna be another big test cause there's some tough matchups against the Suns, Mavs, Celtics, Bucks, and Heat. If Embiid dominates through all that it's gonna be tough not to call him the MVP, especially if they can grab the 2 seed by the end... Thanks so much for the comment!
Love me some JT! His play-style is so clean and with his size, ball-handling, shot-making, and defensive ability he's easily one of the best players in the NBA. He shows his youth a lot and is by farrr the least consistent player among the MVP race. That's why he fell out of it for me mainly (as well as coming up short in some big games) and it's a similar reason for a lot of others I imagine. I can easily see Jayson Tatum winning an MVP or maybe even multiple during his career though, the writing just seems to be on the wall... Thank you so much for the comment!
Another Sch muck trying to make a case and then not make a case for Embiid, Embiid won the head to head battles too and Giannis plays with Jrue and LOPEZ who will end up in all defensive teams!
I like that you brought up the head to head fact because it's something I didn't really mention and Embiid really shows out when the spotlight is there, something that's incredibly admirable and separates greats from... g r e a t s lmao. Jrue and Lopez being definite defensive selections this season is totally a fair reason to detract from the notion of Giannis being a one man army. Brook's only missed 2 games so far but the Bucks actually have a winning record without Holiday this season and Giannis was smoking fools in a lot of those games! I definitely think I made a case for Embiid, hell the entire thesis of the video is about the fact that he has more than a fair case regardless of my personal decision not to pick him as the winner (I don't have a vote anyways) and that these conversations shouldn't limit appreciation to just the person who rests atop the ballot in the end... idk maybe that wasn't clear, I am a shmuck after all....
Super fair, I respect all that. The Bucks are actually 9-6 without Giannis to the 76er's 9-4 record without Embiid, but honestly it's close enough to not get hung up on the difference. What's important is that Embiid is a beast and shows up when he needs to! Thanks for the comment

I also appreciate a Jayson Tatum enjoyer he doesn’t nearly get enough credit as a great two way player.

Your conclusion is wrong
Fair enough !
Embiid has done the same thing Giannis has done harden missed a month and so did Maxey and Bucks are still winning without giannis
