MACENNA 😍😍 it’s beautiful!! I definitely vote two chairs for the living room! It adds variety to the space and makes it feel more open to the beautiful French doors! 😍😍 I do have a suggestion! I really think instead of painting the brick I definitely think you should just over grout it. Use an off white colour to neutralize the red but keep the amazing brick texture since the whole wall is painted!
When you said “I was so nervous because I’ve never done it before” referring to the lime wash I was thinking “girl, look around you. You pretty much built your own house by yourself without ever having done it before, paint on a small patch of wall isn’t gonna take you down” 😂 Great job as always MaCenna!
MaCenna, you have made the living room so beautiful! I think 2 chairs across from the sofa (like you have now) looks great! I can tell you like symmetry but I think adding another sofa will make it too matchy-matchy. Adding the 2 chairs still gives the room balance and makes it more interesting. I am so very impressed with all you’ve taught yourself and the love and hard work you’ve put into your home! You are a joy to watch!
I kind of love the one couch, two chairs look for the living room! There's already so much symmetry and I feel like some asymmetry really balances it out. It also makes a ton sense to have armchairs like it is now since it doesn't block access to that door.
Agree with keeping 2 chairs. Buying another couch or even a love-seat will drastically cut your styling/seating options; I speak from my own experience! Also chairs will keep that current airy, spacious vibe, another couch would "cramp" the room and make the design appear stuffy. Finally, some of your guests may prefer a chair.
Absolutely love how it turned out! Would a diy removable rolling bookshelf ladder be something you would incorporate into your home? The shelves just reminded me of a like cozy Victorian library nook sort of vibe and just thought it would be a fitting touch🤎

Really loving the limewash between the gorgeous colored shelves! The trim is intricately beautiful, it ties up the room well! Can’t wait for the moment you furnish up the room 🤩🤩
Oh MaCenna, your living room is just lovely! Well done! I would love 2cozy overstuffed chair to complete the room because I love the look of the double door, especially the bottom and I wouldn’t like to block that view. Honestly can’t wait to see your choice!
I watched this again and please keep the living room furniture as is! It's extremely important to think about Fire egress! The 2 chairs are placed and position PERFECTLY for fire safety and aesthetics.
Amazing work! I just love the color for the built in shelving. What if you continued that color around by painting your crown moulding the entire perimeter of the living room with that color? It's so beautiful! Now I'm looking around my house to see what I can paint with that color... hmm...❤😂
Okay, first I want to agree with every encouraging and positive comment. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this series. It is so inspiring. And I want to add one teensy weensy suggestion. My husband is a finish carpenter and we sat and watched the reveal together, hitting pause and discussing. Maybe paint the crown at the top of the cabinets to match the crown above the walls. That way the cabinets look straight at the top rather than strangely curved. You have Grey Mist crown above the fireplace so I actually think it would look more complete that way. It is a little bit choppy now. So sorry to be that person nitpicking while you bust your hump. My only defense is that I'm a former copyeditor. 😉😆You and Romeo are awesome. Can't wait to see the big finish.
Oh gosh MaCenna, it is so beautiful and I really love the look of the fireplace and the shelves and cabinets below with those beautiful doors. Thanks again for sharing and I am really excited for the Christmas Vlogs. Have fun and stay safe, sending love and hugs, bye!! 💞💜💜
You are so smart! I love everything you have done! For future projects requiring darkening detail work you might want to try a product from DIY paint called "Dark and Decrepit Dust" you just powder it on basically. Much easier but what you did looks fabulous!
I’m so inspired following along on this ongoing transformation. You did that, girl! The one thing I would differently is paint the whole fireplace front and mantle surround the same color as the built in shelving. LOVE the understated drama that color brings to the space
I wonder if any of the family members of the previous owner have watched these videos. I'm sure it would make their hearts happy to see the amount of love and detail you have poured into each and every room.
MaCenna, what a transformation, it is ABSOLUTELY gorgeous!!!!!!! It looks amazing, love the placement of the couch and chairs. I think you should stick to just 1 couch and a couple chairs, it may look to bulky with 2 couches. I like that you can see through the backs of the chairs, it has an openness about it. GREAT JOB, YOU'RE AMAZING!!! The house is looking so beautiful, you should be so proud of all your skills you have learned over the last year.
I admire how much vision, drive, willingness to learn and energy you have to tackle all of the renovations for this home! Everything you do looks lovely week after week, there’s just so much warmth and charm ❤

Youre content is so much better than any mass produced home improvement show. So happy we get to see how much time and effort goes into this because it’s turning out stunning!
You’ve definitely improved your DIY skills with this beautiful home!! The attention to detail truly shows how motivated you are in making this home uniquely yours and I can’t wait to see how everything turns out in the end!! 💕💕❤
I wish once in a while you'd make an hour-ish video. 30mins-ish feels so quick to go by when it comes from you. Well done on everything, MaCenna. Edited: Now that I've watched the video, it did feel a big rush to put so many things in such a short duration. I know you have a strict timeline in what you do and are a perfectionist (as I am myself). I love that about you. Your work ethic is epic! Please try to slow down and enjoy the process more. Nevertheless, the results are unquestionably amazing and will always be, every single time. We're all proud of you. You will never ever bore your audiences with your personality, skills, brilliant ideas and so on. It's the details that matter, right? Please don't take this the wrong way, and thank you so much for sharing with us. You're a complete joy to our days and nights.
I don’t think it’s realistic to ask her to do hour long videos here plus her vlog in addition to the work she’s doing on the house. Filming and editing videos is very time-consuming and the longer the video, the longer it takes to do those things. If you follow her vlog in addition to this channel, it gives you what you’re looking for!
I'm sure there are hours and hours of footage shot and of course it takes time to edit them down. Doubling the length of the video could potentially double the length of the time it takes to edit (which is always the longest most tedious part!). But I'd happily watch DIY shots go on for longer! Even just painting the room! This could be a lower effort/quick way of lengthening the videos. MaCenna's videos are so relaxing and inspiring to watch! I 100% agree that we will never get bored watching!
@Johanna Sarén MaCenna's videos are well-made. And I think it takes quite some time just to edit one. She also jumps from one project to another (depends on what life throws at her) so the files has to be organised first and put in their own respective folders before she can even make a single video. Unless she has 1 specific camera for 1 specific project and everything is shot continuously. Or if she hires a cameraperson/editor to help her. Anyway, she's been doing a spectacular job as a one-person creator (sometimes with the help of Romeo, Mom, Dad). I honestly think she shouldn't edit out as much details because she had worked looong days and weeks or even months on one single project. She should give herself a lot more credit. As her viewer, I'm already so grateful she's sharing it with the world to see and learn from.

And you did it once again! You make a space feel so magical and unique. I can’t wait until it’s “completely” finished. Thank you also for all the work and quality content you put out. ❤
I was waiting for this video with pain inside 😂 Yesterday night I said to my husband that you haven't posted for a while and I was worried that sometimes would have happened and I was right (in some sort of way). LOOK WHAT YOU'VE DONE GIRL!! You are sssooo talented and such an inspiration for all of us especially when you share your feelings about your first times! Thanks Macenna! We love you a lot!
The limewash looks absolutely incredible!! I wasn’t sure about adding it to the range hood in the kitchen but I am all for it now, it looks so bomb. Glad you stuck to your gut feeling and made the floating shelves into built-ins, it is a much better match to the vibe of the living room. So so proud of you chicky
Very happy to hear you are doing vlogmas! My granddaughter watched one of your vlogs with me, shes 8.. and at Thanksgiving shes like, grma, I just watched Romeo's birthday vlog! Appreciate that you are showing the next generation that anyone can do whatever they set their minds to do and I promised her mom you keep things very PG❣ Appreciate that also!
You say " we" a lot and I'm wondering who the mystery person is! It reminds me when I was a nurse...." we're going to have a bath now" Also! , two couches would be too crowded, it appears! Lots of hard work and detail... Good job!
LOL I did the same thing ........I had to stop watching and then I over decorated my house for Christmas while waiting. LOL - I stepped back after the episode >.< took some down. No pressure though, don't tire yourself out! ....... This is good TV!
first of all my jaw DROPPED when you showed the final reveal of your pretty progress!!! OH MY GODDDD its gorgeous! As for the furniture, I think having a little asymmetry with the couch and two chairs gives just enough contrast to show how perfectly symmetrical everything is, while still giving visual interest :)
So wonderful getting to watch you two put your gorgeous home together. This video was so satisfying...you two have done so much!!! Watching you and Romeo vibe is the sweetest. I'm totally addicted to this channel! So so so happy for you two.
Cannot express how excited I get when a new video comes out….. never been so interested to see someone’s home being renovated! I’m in awe of you Macenna! X
The living room is already stunning!!! I am a crafter and I love giving things an old world look. Waverly Antiqueing Wax is in every crafter’s stash. It can be watered down to soften the color. It is sold at Walmart and it does an amazing job of getting in all the crevices like on your mantle. Very easy to use. I also love their white wax!
I've honestly watched this video 5 times already and each time, it just gets more amazing!. Everything looks so gorgeous, so amazing, I love the colors, the fireplace, the mantle, the lights, I mean wow!!!. Looking forward to Vlogmas, cannot wait to see a video everyday of how the house is changing. I am so proud of you and inspired all at the same time lol. Tfs and GREAT JOB!
I am a 75 year old grandma and love decorating but most of all watching the progress you have made in your home. You are so talented and I just love watching your videos. Love Ya
So wise to encase the floating shelves and create a more compatible built in bookcase with timeless appeal. Can’t imagine the final appraisal on all you’ve done to make this cottage come alive! Love it❤
Oh I have been checking Clip-Share multiple times a day the last week in anticipation for this makeover and as always you didn’t disappoint. I can see why it took a little while to load it, oh boy how much did you accomplish. I think you deserve to reward yourself and Romeo. Amazing living room, so cosy very “hygge”. Can’t wait for episode 4 with the Christmas decor. You have inspired me so much. I have began the design process of my flat makeover, lots to do before I start physically but love learning and gaining info and inspiration from you. You are amazing. ❤
Everything look soooo good! Can’t wait to see it decorated for Christmas😍🥰 feels like yesterday, December 1st wasn’t possible for last year and now look at you! 😍 it’s becoming everything and more!
What is really amazing to me, is that when I was MaCenna’s age, I was so humble when renovators came to my home. They had amazing skills that really impressed me. And they did work in ways that were a mystery to me. And it was always men. And here is MaCenna, a self taught young woman knocking it out of the park every time…..
Getting ready to do a bedroom in this treatment. You made look very doable.Did you have to use a special primer before the lime wash. Some of the tutorials I've watched said there is a special primer before the actual lime wash. If you did what was it that you used. If you didn't was it just the plaster as the base? Thank you so much, you are very inspirational and I appreciate all the knowledge you share along with the confidence you give.
The chairs look great there! Definitely voting for the chairs to bring in little something somethinggg you know you love! Can’t wait to see what you end up doing either way! 🥰
MacCenna, I literally watched with tears in my eyes seeing you finish this up and how beautiful it is …. I’m so proud of you and admire your tenacity to figure things out. Very inspiring. Congrats to you and Romeo as you decorate and enjoy Christmas in your cottage after the long wait!
Wooooooooow this looks amazing and so cozy! Love the layout with one couch and two chairs. The fireplace, the bookshelves and the lights are so symmetrical so I think a non symmetrical couch situation would brake it up a bit and make it even more interesting 😍
I love the juxtaposition between everything being symmetrical and having the asymmetry with the couch on one side and the two chairs on the other!! It looks so good!!
Can't bloody wait for vlogmas !!! To decide on the couch, take a picture of the living room without the chairs, flip your couch where you want to maybe put a second one, take another picture and photoshop them together !! But i gotta say, i love the airiness of the chairs compared to another, boxier couch
I was waiting for this video so much! And it looks absolutely gorgeous! Love the mantel and how black inside makes the fireplace look bigger. Already can see a Christmas by the window. Amazing house! Go you!
It looks freaking incredible and I literally couldn't see it until you bought it to life in front of me, like it's looks so good and I never would have thought of this!
I admire how much vision, drive, willingness to learn and energy you have to tackle all of the renovations for this home! Everything you do looks lovely week after week, there’s just so much warmth and charm ❤
I just love how you add character to everything you do in your home in such a beautiful modern way homes don't have much warmth and character anymore thank you for doing it and doing it with a smile you bring joy to the home renovation experience 😊 stay blessed
Definitely couch and two chairs for the living room! A second couch would really narrow the walking space to the side door. The chairs allow for movement in lots of directions instead of creating a “hall” like a couch would. As always, such an incredible job!
Seeing this room come to life has been epic - it's crazy how much height those bookshelves add to the wall and you continue to blow me away with how professionally done everything looks! Can't wait to see it all decorated!
This looks so beautiful i love coming along over the years with you on this journey and seeing your vision come into the spaces! Thank you for all your hard work with your videos!
Oh my goodness, the built in look is spot on!!!! I love it! It elevates the space to a custom look and goes so beautifully with everything else you have done. Good call on that one! It is so fun watching you do all this work on your own. Every time I watch you working on a project my jaw is on the floor. So impressive how skilled and talented you are.🙌🏽
I HAVE NO WORDS HOW STUNNING THIS ROOM IS...... I'm truly speechless. You have such an eye for interior design never mind your creative skills in making all the built ins, fireplace, etc etc. What an inspiration. 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏PS where do you get the energy??????? You are a super woman 😁
I am so excited to see the living room finally taking shape!! Everything looks amazing like always and I can’t get enough of the green shelving! I think with the room being so narrow and you having a door in the corner, a second couch would make it look very narrow and chairs make it less symmetrical!
Omg MaCenna!!!!!! You’re knocking it out of the park!! Watching your vision for the space come to life is so inspiring and I’m having THE BEST TIME watching!! I definitely think you should do two matching couches with poofs or accent chairs at the end. I can’t wait for Vlogmas!! Lastly, let’s be friends in real life! ♥️
2:47 and there’s what makes her so amazing! I would have never had the idea to thicken those shelves, and when she showed the difference, it became so obvious to me. Looks so much nicer!
I love what you've done so far and it's so nice to see the before and after/present day comparisons! I like the layout of the couch and 2 chairs. I would just replace the chairs with something with more visual weight to maintain balance in the space. I love watching your progress, you are so inspiring!
It's so freaking beautiful!!! Your doing such good work!! They just started working on our master bathroom today so it's getting close to me finally being able to move into my childhood house with my love!!!!
Gotta admit, got kinda teary watching this space come together at long last. I can only imagine how you must be feeling, accomplishing such a huge project to such a high standard. Congratulations on the excellent choices, too!
I’ve been watching your channel since BEFORE the cottage days! You are my favorite Clip-Sharer (well tied with Drew 😉) it’s been soooo fun watching the whole process of the cottage that it’s making me a little sad it’s coming so close to an end! What are your plans after this?! I hope you do the little cottages in the back next 😊 I want to come stay in one!!!
Love love love!! Can't wait to see more and see Christmas decor! You're doing such great work and I look forward to every video. My vote is couch couch and two poufs!
Loving how this is going! Everything is so well made and its amazing how it’s your first time. For the layout of the living room, for TV viewing purposes I think couch in the middle back towards the kitchen, since twisting your neck a lot to watch tv would be a pain. And you can put chairs along the window and the opposite wall. For aesthetic purposes, I love the asymmetry since everything is so symmetrical. But I was also thinking 2 couches but it might crowd the space? If you have room I saw why not more seating then two smaller chairs facing the fireplace, back towards the kitchen.
*🔝🔝🔝Thanks for watching and commenting on this channel Congratulations you are been selected among my shortlisted candidate hit me 🔝above on Tele.gram app🔝 to claim* ...
Ohhhh my goodness.....I LOVE what you have done! One of my favorite videos yet!!! WoW! I love more of the built in bookshelves plus that lime wash made it gorgeous. SO with the style of the older house. So rich looking! SOooo much character. And the little detail of the stain pen. Just perfect! You go girl! 😍❤️ Can't wait for each diy video!!!
Your living room looks amazing. Love the built ins and love the color you chose for them. I think 2 sofas facing each other would look more cohesive and 2 pouffe's would not hinder the view but would enable more seating for guests xx
Love how it’s coming together! It all looks lovely and so in keeping with the age of the house. The pedantic in me wishes you would put the two half bricks in the hearth to finish it off as it’s driving me crazy 🤪
Honestly haven’t been more excited for a video!!! ❤ You are too good Macenna ✨
If U, Lone Fox, said this, it is a huge compliment. It is indeed stunning
Drew - Need the cement treatment info!!!
it looks so amazing....Macenna is so talented.
Absolutely BEAUTIFUL home.
the way that you are able to ✨transform✨ these rooms is incredible to watch!! that limewash color was the perfect touch too!
I've never seen Clip-Share comment!!!
Dang even Clip-Share commented on MaCennas video 👏🏼
@Brittany Male Child out girl, it's just a comment. The fact that you have a parasocial relationship doesn't concern me.
@The Dummkopf excellent work spelling "biased" there pal
Totally, not a buyest opinion at all. Right Clip-Share?
When you said “I was so nervous because I’ve never done it before” referring to the lime wash I was thinking “girl, look around you. You pretty much built your own house by yourself without ever having done it before, paint on a small patch of wall isn’t gonna take you down” 😂
Great job as always MaCenna!
hahaha my thoughts exactly!!
Hahahahha 😂 you’re totally right!
Stunning ❤
OBSESSED with how the limewash turned out omg ❤

That’s totally my thinking too!
made an almost identical comment just now, totally agree. bumping this!
The chairs work because the arms aren’t solid, you want airy looking wood arms and no skirting.
@BarefootContessamessa Agree, would also cover too much of that beautiful lime wash.
Agree with keeping 2 chairs. Buying another couch or even a love-seat will drastically cut your styling/seating options; I speak from my own experience!

Oh MaCenna, if a house could smile she’d be beaming from ear to ear. You’ve brought life to the old girl. 😊
Thank you so much!!!!
What a lovely comment 😍
Your sweater is so cute! And, as always, love everything you are doing to this house. Beautiful!
Really loving the limewash between the gorgeous colored shelves! The trim is intricately beautiful, it ties up the room well! Can’t wait for the moment you furnish up the room 🤩🤩

I came here to say the same thing. It’s the only thing that’s wrong to me. Otherwise it all looks great!
I agree! It’s the first thing I noticed, as well. I think it looks awkward to have that color break in the continuity of the crown molding.
The trim looks so much better than just floating shelves
Completely agree. The floating shelves didn’t go with so well with the style your going for. Seemed too modern.
Yes 100%
Totally right!!!!
i was so hoping she would change her mind 😂
The attention to detail😮 she’s soo talented
i'm actually so proud of this house journey haha kinda feels like my project... love u Macenna

The best makeover to date. Love it!
You seriously amaze me every time you work on something. 🤍
When I was reselling my home I used one of those stain paint pens to hide all the knicks in my white baseboards 🤫

Yes for identical couch would really round things out and lots of comfort.

I think McKenna wants the living room to be Christmas ready, hence the need to get things done.
Maybe like 45 minute videos, I know she’s done live streams before. Plus vlogmas is coming up which will be nice

LOL I did the same thing ........I had to stop watching and then I over decorated my house for Christmas while waiting. LOL - I stepped back after the episode >.< took some down. No pressure though, don't tire yourself out! ....... This is good TV!
Same... I used the time to look up cake decorating vids lol
I’m a teacher so I got the notification at school that MaCenna uploaded and was like YAAAS can’t wait to go home!
Saaaaaame
thank you so much!!!
first of all my jaw DROPPED when you showed the final reveal of your pretty progress!!!
This was an awesome episode. I absolutely love how the living room is turning out. Like Lone Fox said, you’re too good.
Cannot express how excited I get when a new video comes out….. never been so interested to see someone’s home being renovated! I’m in awe of you Macenna! X
MaCenna, I love how supportive Romeo is. He was so cute when he was telling you how good you’ve gotten at crown molding. Looks beautiful. 🙏🏻💜
I am in AWE of your accomplishment. CONGRATS MACENNA AT THIS MASTERPIECE OF A LIVING ROOM!!!!!! Can't wait to see all the finishing touches
I finally found you!! i forgot your name!
soooo happy 🎉💕💕
I am a 75 year old grandma and love decorating but most of all watching the progress you have made in your home. You are so talented and I just love watching your videos. Love Ya
@Sara W I am also 69, and I love watching what this girl is doing! So talented,
69 here and I am so inspired by Macenna.
😍 it’s becoming everything and more!
would i need to poly top coat BM Advance on kitchen cabinets?
What is really amazing to me, is that when I was MaCenna’s age, I was so humble when renovators came to my home. They had amazing skills that really impressed me. And they did work in ways that were a mystery to me. And it was always men. And here is MaCenna, a self taught young woman knocking it out of the park every time…..
@A I'm much older, and I'm truly amazed at how much she's done on her own and with the help of Romeo.
I’m younger than MaCenna, but it is so inspiring to watch her. I hope someday I have her skills.
Did you end up lime washing the sides of the fireplace?
Omg, I love your thought process and how intentional you are about every detail. Your living room is amazing!
MaCenna I can't find a word that adequately describes how beautiful this cottage is. I just love everything you and Romeo have done. ❤🧡💛💚💙💜 Thank you!
Can't bloody wait for vlogmas !!! To decide on the couch, take a picture of the living room without the chairs, flip your couch where you want to maybe put a second one, take another picture and photoshop them together !!
But i gotta say, i love the airiness of the chairs compared to another, boxier couch
👏 great idea!!
Brilliant!!
Great idea.
I’m loving watching the progress, it’s beautiful. Cannot wait for the styling! 👍🏼😍
Oh Macenna it looks sooo good!! You've done an amazing job!! Can't wait to see it decorated for Christmas, I know its gonna be stunning!🎄🎄
I agree and it would be such a cute idea for her Mom to do a tiny painting of Kinsley to,add to the bookshelf!
I love the bookshelves! The second couch with the poof stools is what I envision for that space for sure!
I'm completely in love with your new amazing living room! Can't wait to see the last episode about this room 😍
Oh my gosh MaCenna…. The living room is beautiful! Good choice on the trim to make the shelves look built in. You’re so talented!
STUNNING!!! Love how it’s coming together! ❤
Love love love!! Can't wait to see more and see Christmas decor!
You're doing such great work and I look forward to every video.
My vote is couch couch and two poufs!
I love that trick to turn the floating shelves into more of a built-in look!
I love the color more and more every time. It has an olive tint that just looks so cool in the light! 🤗
From the preview we have had, I just know this episode is going to be insane! So excited for you guys to have your first Christmas at the cottage 🎄
Super proud of you! You learned so much along the way. You’re so inspirational ❤
Love how it’s coming together! It all looks lovely and so in keeping with the age of the house. The pedantic in me wishes you would put the two half bricks in the hearth to finish it off as it’s driving me crazy 🤪
