      @j Walster
      Thanx for the advice!
      I am actually looking a bit into blender since it seems like something I could use.
      I build RC cars as a hobby so I make 3d parts for both mechanical parts and bodyparts... So I sometimes need a more technicsl 3d program to make parts and at other times i need more fluid shapes and designs for bodies etc...
      So it sounds like blender might be a good tool for the latter! :)

    • j Walster
      j Walster 8 months ago

      @Joker Ink and Custom Builds you should get blender, it's actually pretty good for 3D modeling, (I mostly use it for cars, but I'm sure what ever you need it for, you can find a tutorial)
      There are many buttons, but all you need for basic modeling are -
      E - extrude (divide , and extend part at decision)
      R - loop cut (creates a 'loop cut' fallowing the geometry of the shape, scroll to add more in the same area)
      Shift - (select multiple, nodes/lines/faces. You can switch between selecting node/line/faces using the icons at the top of the screen)
      F - fill (can be used to create a line or face between two or more nodes)
      There is an option to shade smooth (hide the jagged ness of a mesh) it's in a bunch of menus and would take a bit to explain. And an many modifiers.

    you absolutely have to install a pneumatic tube system!!! so you could not only send letters and small objects back and forth between workshop, bunker and house, but you could also make a special thermos flask that fits exactly into the pipe system to send hot tea anywhere you want!
    And for anyone who doesn't know what a pneumatic tube system is: it's more or less a tube system where small containers can be shot back and forth with compressed air. like a hyperloop in small XD

    Nice sign Colin, looks really professional. But, do bear in mind (you probably have anyway);

    mark and therefore protected under the 1994 Trade Marks Act. Anyone
    wishing to use any of our modal roundels or other corporate logos needs

    Yo could also make the base with a 3D printer instead of metal. Then you could even leave holes and channels in the back for wires and LEDS and use a translucent resin to pour in s you can back light the resin. You could even make the base thicker nd hollow and put batteries in it... or even hand for a clock.

      @jameswalker199 I once spent an hour with a magic eraser and extremely fine grit sandpaper to try and remove some scuffs from our white dining room table. My wife asked me to pick it up from the furniture store and I thought the guys who loaded it dinged it up so I wanted it to look nice before she got home.
      I shamefully showed her the damage and she laughed and said it was supposed to look “distressed”. Anybody who’s ever made anything beautiful would understand my frustration with INTENTIONALLY damaging it.
