One of the greatest animated pilots on Clip-Share, you all are next level
Woah⁉️
Yeah!
Can't wait for the review. We need more indie animation project like these.
hey saber! and it really is :o
Cant wait to see you review it
I love how despite being so humanized they still make cat noises and still have some cat behaviors like their tails puffing up omg
The tails puffing up is one of my favorite details because it so damn accurate
One of said cat noises : 21:12
I call this animal with human personification, not the crap furries turn animals into.
Rocky seems like the type of guy to unironically wield a sword and everyone thinks he doesn’t know how to use it until everyone is in danger and he actually is a master with it
That would fit perfectly for rocky
I think he'd be more like a guy who doesn't know how to use a sword and is accidentally good at it
@welp I can also see that
he brings a sword into a gunfight and still manages to win somehow... lucky devil
I love how freckle goes batshit feral whenever he’s handed a gun like what a mood.
He's an American it's just how we work
@Sam Nuell isn't he Irish-American, thou?
@airam he still does have some American in him AND he lives in America so it counts 🤷🏽
That is not a mood to be proud of :')
@airam "I was born on Dublin street..."
The fact that everyone's neck-deep in a firefight, and Rocky's just out here tripping balls
I love this comment so much
12:04 I hope Rocky, Freckles, and Ivy replace their semi-automatic pistol with a Colt M1911A1 because they won't last a day with that pistol. Rocky, Freckles, and Ivy should have a Colt M1911A1 beause it's the best pistol, 45 caliber and the best pistol against their enemies.
@Lexus Driver and WHERE are they going to get one of those? part of the MAIN premise of the show is that they're near broke.
@notawolfyet During this time period there’s even black market arms selling. Sure it’s gonna cost but totally worth it for Rocky, Freckles, and Ivy.
@Lexus Driver plus World War I surplus being relatively cheap and easy to get their hands on and then being able to afford a chopper they can keep on the car at all times.
16:26 I like that angry look Mordecai made at his henchmen it basically says “I’m surrounded by idiots”
15:18 I like also a scared look with hissing, which says "Water!"
It’d be more like acquaintances since they all work for Asa Sweet
The ear twitch absolutely sells this cat eventually betraying his "employers."
Absolutely Incredible. Well done guys 👏👏👏👏
Hi glitch :3
Heya, GLITCH! I love your Murder Drones series! Michael does a great job voicing N!
✨
GLITCH!?!??!
Ayo Glitch's here too!
Rocky is a such a chaotic little theater kid and I love him! Also freckle being so nervous and containing so much chaotic feral energy is wonderful
Ikr
Damn at 13:43 He must have had a lot of mental and physical discipline to not be startled enough by that explosion and reactively pull the trigger.
10:15 She is braver than she thinks... that look and claws would make anyone run away.
And it quite reminded me of "28 Days Later".
I mean he is Mordecai
THIS NEEDS TO BE A SERIES!!!!! I HAVE WATCHED THIS 1000 TIMES! ITS SO BEAUTIFULLY MADE!
bro read the comic, you will NOT be disappointed
@Double o' Donut wait it has a COMIC? WHERE CAN I FIND IT??
edit:nvm i found it, its webtoon
@Undyne the official site for the comic is actually linked in this video's description
It's so nice to see a non-game piece of media accounting for ammo!! Mordecai literally counting out the six bullets made me so happy, along with the non-infinite tommy gun!! Nice job!
Though Freckle had shot more bullets before Mordecai started counting.
Seeing the sketch lines around characters reminds me of old disney movies. Stunning job 🙌
Yeah, I'm trying to decide how I feel about them. They were added in intentionally, if you didn't know.
And the Disney you're probably thinking of was in the 60s through the 80s when Disney was using the xerox process, where rather than the animation being inked nicely before going to coloring, they would effectively photocopy it, immediately getting outlines to paint, resulting in rougher animation.
Incredible! Eye candy complete with amazing voice over work! I've been following the comic for so long, congrats to the whole team!
740 likes and no comment? Lemme help u with that
Did not expect you hear.
@Kawaii Neko :3 👂
I used to read the comic over a decade ago. Is it *still* going??
@Meganlodon thank you!
I've been a massive fan of this ever since I saw the Webtoon. I LOVE THIS. I did not even consider that there was a Clip-Share channel until I saw this. Instantly subscribed. Instant dono. Instant all of the above. I am super excited for anything and everything that comes out of this channel and I wish you amazing people the very very best! 💖😊💖
So glad this popped up in my feed when it did.
big dono!
Thats a lot sir
That's gotta be the most I've seen donated 👏
Omg ppl like this are amazing
I love how everyone is freaking out in battle while Rocky is spitting Poetry and throwing bombs everywhere
For someone who has never even heard of Lackadaisy before, this pilot really got me excited for what the comic was about. Rocky is definitely my favorite character, the way he went psycho was great. The animation is next level, best animation ever, nothing I've seen before even comes close to topping this. Keep up the amazing work, can't wait for more
I had a pretty good feeling that Michael Kovach would be involved in this jaw dropping pilot with his masterful voice acting and who knew that he would voice the most chaotic and lovable character?
Its like he always voices my fav characters 😂
I honestly feel like I relate to Freckle on a personal level sometimes. I'm that one person that tries to be the most mature person in their friend group, but every now on then, I let my inner idiot 5 yr old run wild to cure my boredom for a few hours. Whether it's doing something that I would usually find embarrassing, or going on a theme park ride I wouldn't usually ride, chaos will ensue one way or another
Freckle isnt letting an inner 5 year old out.
He has emotional issues and deep instability masked by his usually calm nice guy demeanor.
Like he tried to tell pepper, he has a burning raging fire inside that comes out occasionally, usually resulting in manic behavior and violence.
That's why he got kicked off the police force, there was an "incident" during training. Most likely where he snapped and bad things happened.
@jordan hicks Yea, I kinda figured that. I just tried to put it in a less angsty way to better fit a friend group scenario, but still have a connection in a way. I’m sorry if I offended you or caused any confusion
@Harmony no offense taken, just wasn't sure if you had the right measure of our friend Freckle.
@jordan hicks Good to know 💜
Congratulations to the whole team, this is fantastic! Loved it, cheered me up very well ❤❤❤
Omg Hi Keke!! And yes I loved it too ❤️
Indie animation pour la gagne woooooo
C'est bon!
Bravo to them!
Teared*
Can’t wait to see more
I honestly love the animation! I can’t wait for this to come out soon! :D
Michael Kovach sounds like he's having an absolute _blast_ playing Rocky, and the violinist much the same. This project seems like such a blast for everyone involved. That matters, I think; the quality and care speaks for itself.
Here's hoping for more. I missed the comic when it went dark to work on this, and nothing's sadder than an unfinished story.
You’ve definitely earned this
Crazy amount of effort and love went into this, and you can tell even from the credits
This was AMAZING!!! Absolutely unreal job on this!
Haha if the Nostalgia Critic himself loves it, you know it must be amazing!
Hello Doug
Didn't expect to see Doug Walker in here.
Wow! Never thought I’d see you here!
Video incoming with thoughts on it perhaps? Self-published animated shows seem to becoming more commonplace on youtube and the quality of lackadaisy is jawdropping!
Two minutes into the video I started crying. I adore hand drawn animation. It holds so much emotions and resonates with so much that that’s what I’ve wanted to do since I was 8 and seeing that people are still keeping it alive makes me happier than I thought I could be in my current situation. Thank you to you and your crew for keeping it alive.
Y'all know that feeling when a really good show you saw during your childhood ends? You know that pit of "it can't be over" "is that really it" "I don't want it to end". I'm going through all of it.
The pure frustration that freckle experienced once he ran out of ammo... I feel him.
The cat body language throughout this entire thing is spot on and perfect
No words can describe how much I enjoyed this
such a lovely style of animation, SUCH A FUN SET OF CHARACTERS
everyone who worked in this is truly talented and I want to give my full respect and apreciation to them
Can't wait for more
The use of a stopwatch sound to represent Mordecai’s intense focus is a beautiful artistic answer to the more common heartbeat sound effect.
It really does put it in perspective when he starts counting bullets, counting Freckles' shots. He's keeping his head under fire and thinking cool under pressure. That really gives insight into the kind of character he is.
It also ties into his existing motifs from the comic of gears and clocks.
I reminds me of Arthur's dead eye in rdr2 and it was always a great detail
he was using deadeye
When I heard it it reminded me of the dead eye in RDR2. Definitely the inspiration for this.
This pilot has so much personality and style it's incredible, and I really hope I get to see more. And making the character outlines visible was a nice touch.
Damn....I like how they keep some of the sketch lines in the final project... this really show that they really work hard on their animation
This should get a official series or something. Its boiling with originality and pizzazz. Keep it up
That's funny...I seem to be crying after watching this...I've loved Lackadaisy for years and seeing this realized, a living breathing entity I guess it's just gotten me a touch emotional. Having a voice to Rocky, Victor and especially Mordechai well it's nothing short of incredible for me. I pray this continues, it has brought me quite immeasurable joy.
Disneys shows: 6/10
Netflix Shows: 5/10
This pilot alone: 10000/10
I'll never not be grateful for being able to work on this incredible short. Fantastic work by the entire crew. BOOZE CATS!
I wouldn't had know about Hunicast until I discovered the crew for the Lackadaisy pilot making livestreams showing the entire process of the short.
I never knew you worked on this! It always seems like you're involved in all my favorite animated projects on youtube!
I would have never found out about Lackadaisy if it weren't for the Hunicast and thank god I did because this was just a masterpiece.
I wouldn't call it a short haha, it's the length of an actual 22 minute cartoon episode
Hi Ashley.
I can watch this probably thousands of times and never get tired of it. The animation is incredible. Rocky is probably my favorite. I hope this becomes a series or a movie.
The production quality is unbelievable. Excellent sound design and masterful voice acting. Can't believe how smooth the animation is. Please don't stop anytime soon
I will give my lung if it means this becomes a series
Edit : FRECKLES LITTLE GROWL WHEN IVY OFFERS HIM THE DRINK IM DYING 😭🤌
Or, as the caption puts it;
[upset cat trill]
i like how vicktor looks like a jealous dad at 23:08
fr😭it made me so happy to see that reference to the comic
This isn't just great animation. This is great filmmaking!
I love how this "show" really has the balls to be mature without using curse words.
Why'd you put show in quotations? Also, what's wrong with curse words?
@LuxFuxx Because they're often used as a cheap crutch by "adult" shows to seem more mature. They can be a good tools but they're so annoyingly overused that seeing a mature show without them is kinda refreshing
Arcane is an adult theme show, but there's rarely cussing
@Ineda Nap I mean, that's the writing in general, that not the words themselves. South Park had an episode where they tried to say the word "Shit" as much as possible. They still made a great episode and used it over 100 times.
That's my problem with the Hazbin Hotel pilot, it's excessive and sounds like a bunch of edgy teenagers cussing when their parents aren't around.
I started reading the webcomic after watching the pilot and it got me hooked! This pilot helps bring the comic the recognition it deserves and I can’t thank everyone enough who worked so hard on making this happen. Here’s to hoping Lackadaisy will get picked up as a series soon!
I just love this! Action packed, high-quality animation. It has the cigarette choked, Bathtub Gin soaked feel of the Prohibition Era. The characterization is phenomenal!
A classic !
After watching Lackadaisy Pilot, I think it deserves to be turned into a series because of the creativity of Tracy J Butler and partly because there are many popular animated series for adults like The Simpson, Family Guy, Bojack Horseman,... The producers should reconsident this, because they are missing out on a very potential web comic, i hope to see that web comic turn into a series one day. Wish Tracy, Fable and the crew dreams come true.
Love to see Lackadaisy getting the appreciation it deserves. Amazing work done by everyone involved in this project! Haven’t been able to stop watching it for a month haha. Much love.
Disney doesn't even compare, you're at the next level, I hope it's official, a series is incredible and it's only the pilot chapter
I hate Disney
What about warner bros
Now THIS is what I want to see come out of “adult” animation. No excessive swearing nor oversaturated with nudity, sexual innuendos, and/or gore-filled violence. Just beautiful animation and a well-written, mature storyline!
EDIT: I can’t believe I have to clarify this but no, I am not attacking Helluva Boss or Hazbin Hotel. In fact I very purposefully did not mention those series because (1) I didn’t want to put down another independent animated series (especially since I like them) and (2) there are SO many more examples out there of animated shows and movies that rely on violence, sex, and crudeness to justify it being “for adults.” Sausage Party, South Park, Big Mouth, Velma, Family Guy, a good portion of the Love Death and Robots series, etc. Those are just the first couple that come to my head. My only intention with this comment was to express how refreshing it felt to me personally to see an adult animation that carried itself without these elements. That is all.
It does have gore but the good news is it’s not overused.
And no trash propaganda luckily
so no helluva boss ?
@rayhana at this point we need a helluva boss detox
I like Helluva Boss but I feel like the excessive swearing and innuendos kinda cheapen it
2 months later and still my absolute favorite indie pilot ever. I really hope we see this become an entire animated series. I'd support the heck out of a Patreon or buy merchandise or do anything else I could do to support the show!
I was blown away with the quality of this animated movie. The attire of each character, the way they act, the music, the dialogue, a truly hidden gem about cats within the prohibition era. What really caught me was the music, I can't stop bobbing my head to the first track, Olive Branch, during the short chase scene. I look forward to binge reading the comics.
One of the best internet Comics that turn into the best animated short on Clip-Share ever made!!
We need a full web series of this
Y e s
There is the comics
I love how much detail you put into just the Pilot. I expect a lot from this. I mean you even spent a lot of time on the credits! Idk why but the credits are my favorite part of the pilot itself that’s how much work you put into the credits IMO
Freckle going from a sweet yet anxious guy to going absolutely manic when getting a gun is the best. He’s my absolute favorite now.
Fr bro
He's always been my fav, albeit kinda sad for certain reasons, you'll know from the webcomic.
Agreed!
Same-
His psychology is what interests me, in addition to his storytelling potential.
I have the inkling that he could be a heartbreaking tragedy.
A little late to the party, but I love this way too much lol. Not only is the animation beautifully fluid, the characters all feel so unique with their own personalities. And the sound design! I am absolutely in love with this already, hope it gets the full series it deserves. Everyone involved in the creation of this should be proud. :)
This has to be one of the best animations of this year! The team has been working on this for quite a while, and it showcases it in all its bright glory!
Although there are moments when we can still see the sketch animation lines, it is still the most wonderful and spectacular pilot ever!! 10/10
Not sure how I stumbled across this, but I'm glad I did, excellent pilot episode. Great fluid stylish animation along with excellent character design. Mature AND fun, with genuinly funny moments. The voice acting was also very good! Well done to all involved on this, this is great stuff.
I hope this gets the funding it needs to be a full series
This is absolutely incredible. The animation is stunningly beautiful and all the voice actors are putting out amazing performances. You can see the passion in this project through the animation lines. Can't wait to see where this story goes! Definitely in love with this pilot!
I can’t get over how appealing this animation is. It’s got such a fluid, expressive and authentically hand drawn feeling to it
I dunno if the rough animation linework being occasionally visible was international, but it’s nice.
Freckle and Rocky have a friendship, related to Tails and Sonic. It's what makes the animation so fitting. Keep the great work!
The creators of this project really invested a piece of their soul, making the pilot series rich and exciting, this is commendable
Finally hearing anyone else actively use the term "spaghetti arms" massively improved my day. I've never heard anyone else use that term and it made me unreasonably happy!
I love how with, the "Sentimental about old times line", this guy's already set up, you start getting nervous as he walks out at 9:10, and start getting even more worried when even Rocky starts getting serious as he realizes what's going on at 9:20. Amidst the chaos and gunfire, this is the guy you really have to worry about.
It's the kind of subtle characterization that I feel is completely absent in modern Hollywood. Lackadaisy has some actual dadgum villains, and I love it.
@Wasatch Wind I think Hollywood's kinda confused on what a villain even is at the moment. Committing to a badass villain like this and setting him up as a genuinely terrifying threat in masterful ways like these needs to be brought back!
@TheAdvertisement Yeah, it feels like such a classic dynamic. The villain that feels like they could waver morally, that interacts more with the protagonists - and then the big bad who is total evil.
It's great in the OT Star Wars, great in Last Airbender.
I miss it so much from modern western animation. I don't know why they're so afraid of making a bad guy.
Love how expressionable each character is without words. Great work.
as a historian for the early 1900s this is genuinely thought through and accurate to the era. Especially when the car battery died and she had to grab the crank from the floorboard. That blew me away. This is so well done that
I'll definitely be coming back.
whoaa!!!!!!!
And the the 18th amendment rights of 1919 of the intoxication of liquor aka “probation of alcohol” when they made illegal that was true.
except for the 'shotgun' which is basically a machine gun
@Pumpkin Seed :3 that is a bar a machine gun that was produced at the time frame that this series occurs unless you are refering to another gun
@Gatito mono 47 f Doesn’t BAR stand for Browning Automatic Rifle or something like that. Really love that they use props that fit the depicted time. From clothes to vehicles.
So many great things about this animation. The fact that Rocky was singing "Whisky in the Jar" by Metallica was amazing.
Whiskey in the Jar is a Irish folk sing.
@turkeybeard 2010 Thanks g. Wasn't aware of that. Does it have the same melody as the song from Metallica?
This needs to be a series, love the animation, acting, and characters everything was perfect, perfect down to the last little bit 1000/100
The beginning moments of an animated pilot are by far the most vital in proving a positive experience. You've taken my breath away in less than three minutes. Absolutely masterful.
I've never been more compelled to watch something that I know nothing about. I didn't plan on watching this, I just clicked on it because I thought it looked cool. Seriously, what masterpiece have I come across.
That was amazing. The animation, the voice acting... all of it!
*Turning a comic into a real animated pilot is a dream come true to many creators!^^* ❤
Exactly. Tracy has been working hard for *17 years* to get to this point and it really shows the hard work it takes, and that you don't stop doing things after you're 20 😅
Lackadaisy alongside Tamberlane are my favorite online webcomics. I've been dreaming on seeing Lackadaisy get adapted into animation since Middle School. Hope the Tamberlane webcomics gets similar treatment in the future, because the art style is beautifully drawn and the characters are very likeable.
Dude are you kidding, I would absolutely implode to see my characters come to life in animation. This is a miracle. No, not a miracle, because it took hard work
It's a triumph
Absolutely !! 🥺🫶🤍
Oh I had no idea this was a comic. I just saw some clips years ago and thought "ooo nice artstyle. Imma sub"
I found it incredible the amount of detail in the characters' faces, even in the characters that are in the background of the animation. It's simply sensational.
I love the way this feels and how the aesthetic of the show looks. I’m not a furry but this is one of the better shows on Clip-Share
2 months after release and this is still one of the best animations on Clip-Share
This animation is absolutely beautiful. I don't have words. The character, set, and sound design are phenomenal!
this is fantastic, I love the setting, I love characters, the music, the voice acting, the animation, all stellar! can't wait to see more
i love the fact that every popular youtuber has crawled out of the abyss to consume this pilot immediately
?
Can’t blame them, this shit goes hard
Honestly the pilot animation comunity was quite dry from 2021-2022 so it isn’t surprising that a half an hour pilot with this level of qualify drops everyone it watching it.
POPULAR?
Excuse you?
@evanillus exactly
I just started reading the web comics and this series is amazing and the art is so beautiful I love all of it so much
I dont think I've been this excited over a pilot in ages, I can't wait to see where this goes !
The pure unhinged madness that bubbles and bursts from within the minds of the characters is epic, they all feel like real cat people who have instincts, dreams and hopes, and most of all a sense of humor even though they know their lives are in danger, mainly because they are still young and wanna experience thrills without a care, but realize things about themselves they didn't know they had. This was just crazy fun. I hope this series explodes!!!! Just like the explosives in this short. 😉 💥
Simplesmente incrível, faz sucesso até aqui no Brasil. Espero que continue.
Шикарно! Давно читал, не ожидал что увижу полноценную анимацию. Желаю всего наилучшего, терпения и упрямства.
*PILOT?!*
I THOUGHT THIS WAS JUST GONNA BE A SHORT FILM... I'M SO GLAD IT COULD POSSIBLY BE A SERIES
SAME NOW IM EVEN MORE EXCITED THAN EVER BUT I KINDA DID GUESS THAT IT WAS GONNA BE A PILOT 😂
Me too!
from what i was told in the discord server by a mod,the intention is to make this pilot and pitching it to some kind of streaming service in hopes of turning it into an entire series.
I was wondering how they intended on covering all of the bloopers and tying everything together within a single episode
@Demonic Queen ohh, that makes so much more sense. Thank you!
Even better than I expected it to be and I expected it to be REALLY GOOD! So excited for more!
I give it a 10 for animation, art style, voice cast, and story, and a -3 for the poetry.
A solid 7!
The writing was really well done here, it really captures the part of the century it takes place in. Fantastic work and I can't wait to see more!
Whoa this animation is soo good. Simply marvelous. Wonderful job.
The music in this is amazing, not to mention character design, historical accuracy, and literally everything else good to say.
Hand drawn animation should never go out of style, and this is proof of exactly why.
yess! it's so special honestly
Animation companies these days could learn a lot from this.
It will when artists aren't anchored to it by budget
@Frogger what cha mean by that?
@Nth Hand drawn animation will go out of style when artists aren't forced to use it because they can't afford 3D animation.
This animation and coloring and music and THE VOICES! My gosh this is some amazing work!!!
Amazing!!! If you continue this into a full show I will watch every episode. The animation, the art, the world, the voice acting, the characters-- all of it was spectacular and I am immediately obsessed.
Just so unironically good, everything about this is perfect, the setting, the characters, the character's designs.
I like this way more than Hazbin Hotel, it takes itself more seriously and there are just amazing scenes where suspense is amplified by silence and ambience.
I love the scene at 12:52 and the lighting of the characters, such a cool fight scene between Freckle and Mordecai, the ambience for it is amazing.
You guys also took advantage of the fact that they're cats and played into it properly by allowing them to climb better but also be afraid of water and I love that.
Absolutely fantastic work by all involved, I can't wait to see where this project will go
Freckle = cute but uh… guns.
Rocky= posh lookin boy but CRAZYY with dynamite
Ivy=calm.
Only took one episode to establish a setting, a dozen characters with clear personalities, and intriguing world building.
Please make more, I’m loving it so far!
😮
Thats a good pilot right there
There are years and years of comics already written for this series and they're fantastic, they basically have several seasons of a wonderful TV show already storyboarded and written, I hope they get a real series!!!
@M C well ive already read half of them yesterday hahah
@M C
I wouldn’t say seasonS, maybe one
The events in the comic itself happen in the course of what, a week? It’s 170+ pages, yes, but between those not much happens that couldn’t be panned out in 5 or 6, maybe a season, of episodes. It would make for a banger 5 or 6 introducing episodes tho
Can't wait for Episode 2 in 7 years. Keep it up, guys.
So glad to see Lackadaisy animated. I hope to see more.
This is phenomenal! I hope you continue it!
