as an ohio state fan, i have so much respect for the michigan program and i’m so glad the wolverines are back up on top. but that’s what makes good rivalries, two teams go back and fourth.
Always nice meeting one of the good Buckeye fans. I served with one in Iraq and we love to give each other shit every November (he’s obviously been able to give me more over the past decade)
The faithfull Ohio Cult of hate members disagree with you I'm sure. We do appreciate the respect especially from buckeye fans. These Michigan kids are going all the way this year. If Ohio Beats Georgia... So be it. Michigan will take OSU out and make it THREE wins in just over calendar year. GoBlue
Watching McCarthy push away Cj Stokes after that tough run is what leadership is all about. He is so calm and present, he had the awareness to make a tough run, then realize Stokes could be called for taunting or a penalty and push him away to avoid it. I Love this young man!
19:07 Jesse Minter is a mad genius. They show man to man with 6 at the line. They switch to 3 deep zone at the snap and only rush 4 dropping a lineman into the flat. Sarinstil was in the slot but drops to the field flat. Stroud is holding the ball because everything in the pre snap looked like 2 deep man under
The best part of this win was not only did we embarrass them 45-23 on their own turf, but that also they had their top recruits at the game watching it also 👀.
I love the 5-4-3-2-1 call on long run by Donovan Edwards as a nod to Bob Ufer. Now, they have to start referring to the Shoe as "The Snakepit in Columbus Ohio" 😀
The announcer says the pass doesn't have to be perfect but on that first TD it was as perfect a pass as you can get. JJ is being blitzed, he's backing up, throws it off his back foot while falling backwards and still makes a laser sharp bullet pass to the receiver that hits him in the hands and is there fast enough for the receiver to make a move. That was as perfect as it gets
@jayjayjames2332 My point still stands that it was a damn near perfect pass. That was a five-star quarterback type of throw. I will forever be appreciative of Cade but he doesn't make that throw. Few quarterbacks make that throw. Most who try will have it picked off because it will float there. That was my primary point. It was a great pass
He didn't say that. He said let the receivers make a play and that it doesn't always have to be J.J. McCarthy. The SECOND touchdown he said the pass doesn't have to be perfect since he was so wide open and it wasn't.
I just imagine if Beckman called this game, or even Brandy, i know I'm in the minority with that one. happy for Doug, love his 5,4,3,2,1 call along with Jansen chuckles
Brandy was absolutely awful as PBP Karsch isn’t great(just doesn’t have a good voice for radio play by play), but at least he doesn’t constantly mess calls up
@DJ James Honestly if he were to get a good vocal coach he could sound significantly better in a fairly short amount of time. I can hear in his voice certain things he is doing (and not doing) that lend to the grating tone but aren't terribly difficult to address with proper coaching and he likely has no idea that they are even factors.
Man that sack fumble on Stroud was a terrible call. Watching that replay again, the ref should have let that play on. Clearly a fumble and damn sure wasnt forward progress stopped like they ruled. That could have been a scoop and score. Ultimately wouldnt have mattered regarding the outcome, but still
Michigan Man - you’re right, it was a fumble, and I think the ref was helping save Stroud from more criticism, because not giving the fumble to Michigan did not change anything, Michigan had the game won by the time of the fumble.
This game literally feels like a dream after we “shit the bed” against TCU. The TCU loss stole years of hype and build up, finally 1 win over OSU, and then another in Columbus. Thank God for Georgia! Can you imagine we finally beat OSU back to back and they almost beat UG & would’ve rolled TCU for a National Championship? When they do the Stetson Bennett 30for30, his greatest accomplishment is saving Michigan Football from utter embarrassment.
I like Karsch but the reference to Jon makes the listener feel like he is just talking to Jon. “Is he in Jon?” “Is it an interception?” The listener wants to hear the outcome and not a question. His voice pitch really goes up an octave when he gets excited. Give him time though. Ufer and Beckmann both had announcing problems early on in their long careers. In time, Doug will build his own reporting style.
Not sure why Karsch was chosen for new voice of Michigan Football... he's a fine announcer but there's little depth there and it's clear he just doesn't have well developed vocal chords... It's kind of like the last person I'd actually want announcing a football game over the radio. Nothing personal to him- seems like a good dude and all, but it's just not the same :-/
The OSU radio call may not be 10 times better than Michigan's but it is likely to be 100 times better-their guy is top shelf. So much better than Michigan's.
Thats difference between a guy whos been doing it for decades vs a guy whos in his first season. Mr Keels is the best, hope Michigans is one day again too but lots of teeth cutting this year.
Why is it that Michigan cant make these adjustments on the fly in the current quarter. Its great they come back 200% after half time, but lets just make adjustments as the game is going on and work from there.
You don't want to show your card to early in the game in terms of adjustments. The other team is also figuring out what to change at halftime. The michigan coaches have it figured out and it's showing for this season
You see that nonsense it was only five plays at Michigan did that won the game. If you look from Midway through the third quarter on Michigan's driving the ball down the field Edwards starting to get six to nine yards of carry JJ had a nice run Mullins with a nice little jump pass they started leaning on the offensive line and started to wear Ohio State down and I believe if Edward doesn't break those long runs the Michigan still would be wearing them down even further until they pit it in the endzone.
The discipline of OSU was non existent. That might cost Day his job. We’ll see if they stop the unsportsmanlike play against Georgia. If it continues this coach might be removed. Georgia plays a disciplined style of play. GA 45, OSU 17
That could be said about 80% of the time. Looking back all have 20 20 vision.. Twenty million folks watched the game Ohio State got beat handily by both the players and the coaches at Michigan. My goodness Ohio State were lucky that top running back was out.
What I wouldn’t give to have heard this game broadcast by Frank Beckmann. Doug Karsch puts in the work but his voice just lacks a certain depth/gravitas. Michigan broadcasts have lacked that special quality since Frank retired.
OK . I watched and enjoyed seeing replays but Its game day already, time to let this game go. The Championship game is hours away... let's move forward...
as an ohio state fan, i have so much respect for the michigan program and i’m so glad the wolverines are back up on top. but that’s what makes good rivalries, two teams go back and fourth.

I hope we see you guys for the national championship!
Go Blue!!!!
@Vulpes Incultuh 😂
You're right. Another 10-year war is overdue. I liked when UM was running the table BT (Before Tressel), but it just wasn't the same.
GoBlue
That breakup my Sainristil in the end zone was absolutely perfect
If he gets one more year, which apparently he will get, he can be a #1 draft choice.
@Mark Facknitz
Fun things to do in Columbus:
1) Beat the Buckeyes
2) Leave
A thing of beauty.
The play of the game, IMO.
Watching McCarthy push away Cj Stokes after that tough run is what leadership is all about. He is so calm and present, he had the awareness to make a tough run, then realize Stokes could be called for taunting or a penalty and push him away to avoid it. I Love this young man!
@violetclover1224 yup...5:25-5:37
5:25
What timestamp?
This is overlooked by 97% of the people who talked about this game and highlights. I loved seeing how JJ handled that.
I’ll never get tired of watching the highlights from this game
@3:10 is one of the best plays JJ has made. Huge momentum change right there for this game.
not too many people can make that throw
That's exactly what I thought.
Brandstatter & Dierdorf were sent out with a win, Karsch &Jansen start off with one! Perfect. Go Blue! 〽️ 〽️ 〽️ 〽️
@henry lee the Michigan radio announcers...
What's a Brandstatter & Diersdorf? Is that beer they send to the winner of this game? This year they drink Karsch & Jansen?
Love hearing Jon laughing 😂
@Jason Deangelo we own you
Go Buckeyes
19:07 Jesse Minter is a mad genius. They show man to man with 6 at the line. They switch to 3 deep zone at the snap and only rush 4 dropping a lineman into the flat. Sarinstil was in the slot but drops to the field flat. Stroud is holding the ball because everything in the pre snap looked like 2 deep man under
Good observation coach 🫡 GO BLUE
I really really hope we keep Minter, though I'm sure the NFL will be calling. We need to throw this guy a ton of money and get him to stay
Michigan put a defensive lineman to cover any pass before the 1st down line....Brillant!!!
I wasn’t impressed with your offense. Now the defense yes. It’s still go Buckeyes
The best part of this win was not only did we embarrass them 45-23 on their own turf, but that also they had their top recruits at the game watching it also 👀.
And the weather was perfection. And no "flu" was involved this time! Just a pure beat down!
And one of those afterwards committed to The University of Michigan! 😉
I love the 5-4-3-2-1 call on long run by Donovan Edwards as a nod to Bob Ufer. Now, they have to start referring to the Shoe as "The Snakepit in Columbus Ohio" 😀
Michigan football/ Jim Harbaugh not afraid of shoe( snakepit)
Or "The Punch Bowl."
He didn't say that. He said let the receivers make a play and that it doesn't always have to be J.J. McCarthy. The SECOND touchdown he said the pass doesn't have to be perfect since he was so wide open and it wasn't.
Awful commentary..hopefully can be replaced next year
I just imagine if Beckman called this game, or even Brandy, i know I'm in the minority with that one. happy for Doug, love his 5,4,3,2,1 call along with Jansen chuckles
@Jason Deangelo why so he can lose to harbaugh.
I want Urban back
@jfkgoblue
I agree about Doug. Michigan just took the easy in-house guy..the student who does the play by play has a great voice but he's still raw
Brandy was absolutely awful as PBP
Karsch isn’t great(just doesn’t have a good voice for radio play by play), but at least he doesn’t constantly mess calls up
Beckman yeah, Brandstatter no. Brandy was a real good analyst but had no business doing PBP.
Doug can definitely overcome the voice if he’s descriptive enough and poetic in the big moments. He’ll keep improving
Very happy for him. I'm glad he got the job. He's going to get better and better.
The guy sounds like he has strep throat. It’s like nails across a chalkboard
@Dark Zeus brandy was horrible at it.
It's not how he calls the game...its the tone of his voice...it sucks.
Karsch reminds me of Charlie Day a little bit when he gets excited
22:26. That was a strip 6. Mercy call by the ref. Actual final score was 52-23
No broadcast is better than a MEEEEECHIGAN radio call, thanks for the Upload @hailhailtomichigan!! GO BLUE!!!
This was beautiful
There was that fan at -1:36 minutes left in the game, he lost a lots of money, betting on them Buckeyes, and he was thinking about it😢
Love the Bob Ufer homage
15:05 I felt that.
GO BLUE
Karsch sounds like Steve Dangle when he gets excited. Half expected him to start talking about Mitch Marner.
If your a line man tended the line
As a Michigan fan from Toronto I agree lol
Been waiting for this video thank you!
me as well
Man that sack fumble on Stroud was a terrible call. Watching that replay again, the ref should have let that play on. Clearly a fumble and damn sure wasnt forward progress stopped like they ruled. This game game had me bricked up lmaooo, we beat they assssss
@Jason Deangelo lol still beat they ass. 28-3 in the 2nd half to win by 22 is a ass beating
No y’all didn’t 😂 it was one half of dominance
Great video lol
Go Blue!!!
This rivalry is back where it belongs go blue
I miss Frank Beckman
This game literally feels like a dream after we “shit the bed” against TCU. The TCU loss stole years of hype and build up, finally 1 win over OSU, and then another in Columbus. Thank God for Georgia! i clicked on the video with the intention to skip to the don runs but i watched the whole thing and it felt like 5 seconds 💀
drinking the sweet sweet tears of osu fans never get old
God I miss Jim brandstatter
Just imagine, this game fit for the late Bob Ufer. How legendary this would've been.
Keith Jackson
Note on the massive pass break up in the end zone 2 and 0 dont fist pow, high five, chest bump... nothing... it's just 'expected'
If you listen to the OSU announcers compared to like these guys it's like night and day.
@mk wy i will say he is a very professional announcer
I agree-the OSU guy is light years better...maybe the best in the business.
22:57 uhhh Jon look at the score and the clock! Yeah the game is clearly over!
I'm sure that there are Ohio State Buckeye fans who are howling for the Buckeyes defensive' defensive coordinator to be terminated.
Last year was sweet after all the shit we had to eat, this was so much sweeter.
They tried to make JJ make quick decisions with the ball defensively by blitzing and boy did he come thru on them Nohio State Suckeyes GO BLUE〽️
Is it wrong to feel good to see OSU fans sad.
Nope. You’re good.
Yes. But it’s fine. Love my Alma Mater go Buckeyes
🙌
I like Karsch but the reference to Jon makes the listener feel like he is just talking to Jon. “Is he in Jon?” “Is it an interception?” The listener wants to hear the outcome and not a question. 15:06 who is the guy appreciating the nastiness of Barrett's tackle?
We carry in Michigan. No libs in our state.
@King in the North that face you make when the officer asks to see your concealed carry permit but you don’t have one.
Mazi smith
Wolverine nation baby!!!! Ehyeaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
Doug is a talk radio host, not a a radio play by play announcer.
2 and 0 on D = Beat Georgia (or OSU)
Not sure why Karsch was chosen for new voice of Michigan Football... he's a fine announcer but there's little depth there and it's clear he just doesn't have well developed vocal chords... It's kind of like the last person I'd actually want announcing a football game over the radio. Nothing personal to him- seems like a good dude and all, but it's just not the same :-/
Jim Brandstatter's voice was prime for this
The OSU radio call may not be 10 times better than Michigan's but it is likely to be 100 times better-their guy is top shelf. So much better than Michigan's.
Thats difference between a guy whos been doing it for decades vs a guy whos in his first season. Mr Keels is the best, hope Michigans is one day again too but lots of teeth cutting this year.
The Ohio St. Buckeyes totally out classed in this game}
Stop rewriting history

Ohio State got beat handily by both the players and the coaches at Michigan. My goodness Ohio State were lucky that top running back was out.
As much as I hate OSU, I listened to their radio replay…..it may have been the best, easiest, smoothest broadcast I’ve ever heard.
I'd take their play by play guy but Jansen is better than the other dude
I thought Matt Shepard would be a good choice but his plate is full from Tiger games.
Matt Shephard is one of my favorite play by play call
Stroud's accuracy goes to shit the moment someone is in his face. They're not going to beat Georgia - count on it.
GA will take advantage of their undisciplined play. OSU gets too many stupid penalties with head butting, pass interference, holding and others.
@jayngo26 well he’s facing Georgia now. Not worried about that team up north
Stroud may have the worst body language of any QB I've ever seen when he's facing adversity.
Relax 😂 no need to dislike the quarterback of my Alma Mater
Yeah Baby, Yeah Baby!!!
No baby
I don't mean disrespect, but it's embarrassing how much better Paul Keels is to listen to. His calls are fine, but his voice is not for radio.
Honestly the Buckeye announcer was better
The only L Michigan took this day 😂
Yeah, I listened to both radio broadcasts. It's hard to stay neutral as a Michigan fan after all the pain of the last twenty years though haha
FINALLY THE TEAM DOWN SOUTH TASTES THE SALT UM FANS BEEN EATING FOR THE LAST 10 YRS
Agreed! But none of these guys are better than Beckmann or Ufer.
What's with the guy holding a microphone at 12:10?
What I wouldn’t give to have heard this game broadcast by Frank Beckmann. Doug Karsch puts in the work but his voice just lacks a certain depth/gravitas. Michigan broadcasts have lacked that special quality since Frank retired.
Defenitely miss jim brandstetter...absolutely nothing from these two
Go Blue! But please remove Karsch from the call! He’s absolutely horrible to listen to
The announcer sucked…but I enjoyed the highlights
Wow Ohio Stat's announcer sounded better.
They do sound really professional.
Doug's voice is kinda bad for this. Need someone who's clearer.
I am not a fan of Doug. I was not a huge fan of Brandy either. I miss Frank Beckman, and Bob Ufer.
Preferred Beckmann as well, brandy was a good analyst
Doug karsch doesn’t have a good voice for radio
This guy is no Paul Keels.
@King in the North The voice of Ohio State football. Was the voice of UofM football years ago.
Who
No disrespect but we could do better in the play by play call.
Yeah I had to turn this off 😂
I like Karsch but he doesn’t have the right voice for calling games. When he gets excited it sounds like a teenage girl
A little to raspy for my taste, makes me want to clear my throat
Agreed !!! Better off signing Gus Johnson for us lol
Love Doug
That's hilarious, that is exactly what he.sounds like!
@Cody C Keith Jackson was the best Imo he wasn't a good announcer he was a great announcer
OK . I watched and enjoyed seeing replays but Its game day already, time to let this game go.
The Championship game is hours away... let's move forward...
Not a pleasant radio voice.
😂😂
Michigan v Ohio State round 2. Goodnight Michigan.
My Alma Mater will win this time
Karch has a raspy voice not appropriate for play calling. Keith Jackson is the model.
Keith Jackson was on tv
