This is not the Steve I'm familiar with. He seemed very tired and failed to be in a good state to play. He couldn't move well, as if he were older than Roger

So as per a draw not televised federer more or less gets a bye to semi even thow he ranked 3 where novak & rafa have to get past in form dangerous players who are capable of beating a anybody on there day, rafa will most probs have to beat kyrgios or kachanov then thiem then Medvedev to reach the final
    Novak swartzman, tsitsipas then federer
Who fed got? Who did he have have wimbledon? They want him playing as long as possible corupt

    • Stefan Vasilache

Kyrgios is not even top 50 :)))) nadal fans want to say nadal has hard draw with nick on his side. Federer has the hardest draw! Djokovic and Nadal in his path. Federer doesn t play for quarters, he goes at gs for title.

Why is the court so slow? Well anyways, this seems like an andvantegous condition for Nadal.

    • Filippo de Cristofaro
Filippo de Cristofaro 2 months ago

@David True, it should get better as they get used up but I guess gard courts really dont favor nadal anyways

    • David
      David 2 months ago

The court is a bit slow, but it's also low bouncing, Nadal doesn't like that. I'd say the court suits Nole and Roger more.

  • Julian Hansen

Federer looks like having a rather easy draw up untill the fourth round/quarter, Hurkazs in the third round, Krainovic in the second. Players he should beat with fair ease imo. Djokovic had a pretty tough first round match vs the dangerous giant Struff. I think Roger can do it this year, Roger often gets much better as the tournament progresses, so if this is the "worst" we are going to see Roger in this tournament, i think it looks pretty good.

    • Julian Hansen
      Julian Hansen 2 months ago

@Dusan Stanisic Roger can lose to those players if he has an off day, ofcause. But i do think the next three matches will be straight set victories, if he plays just near his best, which is no guarentee though. Tsitsipas is my biggest worry, then Djokovic, then Medvedev, then Rafa. If Roger can somehow beat future legend Stefanos or Djokovic in the semi, i think the final victory is his, beating Stefanos or Djokovic in a semi at this stage of his career would be SUCH a big boost, and Rafa now adays is only effective against best level Roger on clay, Rafa makes Roger play his best usually, so i hope for a TOUGH victory over Stefanos or Djokovic in the semi, and a Fedal final, and never count Medvedev out either, he is also a rising star like Stefanos!

    • Dusan Stanisic
Dusan Stanisic 2 months ago +1

They both have easy draws Struff was tricky, and Evans will be too, but there is no one in the second round, however don't underestimate Hurkacz or Humbert heck even Dennis Novak has shown that he can play great tennis, so not even Hurkacz is safe. I would say Federer's side has better players but they all play each other so it sort of balances itself out. Rafa's draw is really laughable though, like hilariously easy. We'll see.

    • Julian Hansen
      Julian Hansen 2 months ago

@David Okay, thanks for the info, i still favour Novak in that battle vs Tsitsipas, but Stefanos looked devastating both at the Nitto and in his first round match against Caruso, so maybe it is Tsitsipas who is going to win his first slam in australia this year! He is going to be a HUGE star, potential to become a hall of famer one day, i think only injury can stop him, or a sudden insane new generation consisting of player as or more talented than Roger/Rafa/Novak, that can´t happen within the next ten-twenty years, so only injury can stop him from becoming one of the best ever, that´s my take.

    • David
      David 2 months ago

@Julian Hansen Fed and Nole are on the same side of the draw, so they can only meet in the SF. Tsitsipas might beat Nole in the QF though.

    • Julian Hansen
Julian Hansen 2 months ago +1

@David I hope he can get revange over Tsitsipas and double revange over Djokovic, he has a fairly good grasp on Rafa on hard and grass now, i am more worried about Djokovic, Stefanos and Medvedev to be honest :( All three can very well end up stronger in this tournament than Roger, but lets see, of all the three player i´ve mentioned, i feel the best about a Roger - Rafa semi, and then Djokovic, Daniil or Stefanos in a final, if the draw wants it that way

Regrettably there won't be a 21st. 20 was his final stop. Wimbledon 2019 was his chance for 21. Time for Rafa and Novak to lead the charge into the 20's now

MagicPianist - i am sure he will win . We all hope . But the Problem Is stefanos Tsitsiplas and Novak will be tough ones . They are challenging to him. But I believe Federer will beat Novak just like he beat him in ATP FINALS 2019 . But stefanos will be Challenging one .

@Paul that's bullsh*t, Djokovic will be finished soon too, you're talking like he's got 6 more years. Wrong! Fed is a freak.

    • Ivan G
      Ivan G 2 months ago

@Stefan Hell The one reason I can see that Djokovic is not as likes, is obviously because he is Eastern European, from the Balkans, Serbian. His personality is not any worse than for example McEnroe, yet he is not as liked, because of his nationality. If Djokovic was American for example, he would surely be more popular than even Federer.

    • J g
      J g 2 months ago +2

@PaulStill.. Roger is the GOAT, forever!

    • Paul
      Paul 2 months ago +3

While the Fed is the GOAT for now, his days are numbered. Nole is sure to surpass Roger’s slam count soon and quite likely will exceed it by at least 5 (remember he’s only 32 whereas Fed is 38 plus he’s only 4 slams behind him). And Novak has the most career earnings, having surpassed Federer some time ago. I’ve always been a huge Fed fan and I’d love him to remain the greatest but my head tells me otherwise. For me Wimbledon 2019 was Roger’s last real chance to increase his total and we all know how that worked out. It’s likely too that Rafa will surpass Roger’s slam tally either this year or next before Nole takes the outright lead in the years to come, and will hold it for much longer.
