He's so authentic man. None of those diplomatic PR-oriented interviews. Keeps it real and is still such a level headed guy
And yet already super-savvy. Can make the quick, hilarious quip...yet he's not stupidly un-diplomatic. He steers away from traps at the right time.
@anodyne57 he has an incredible father guiding him ❤
his meditation helps for sure
@Pixydust411 roy keane ended him.game over.😂😂😂😂🚀🚀🚀🚀
What a guy, shakes hands with everyone in the beginning and in the end. He also shaked hands with the guy he handed the mic. Truly a humble legend.
What? How is bro getting praised for shaking peoples hand. My guy that's normal in my culture
@Hassii because not every great pro footballer do that
also thierry taking his glove off to shake hands, everybody in germany does this but when I went to england and france nobody did that at all.
Except the woman...truly a humble legend
@Quasar 94 watch again, 3rd handshake
He’s an animal. Scores 5 and is frustrated by missed chances, wants to improve, wants to score more. Plus he’s such a great guy.
it is like CR7 mind so we can easily pressume thats gonna be beast.
To be fair, every striker is frustrated with missed chances, every keeper with conceded goals, that's very natural. But he's definitely got the right mentality, personality and drive to be one of the greatest in the game!
@dMq92 AND YET VS SERBIA SCORED ZERO GOALS AND LOST WORLD CUP QUALIFICATION. WONDER WHY ?? EASY TO SCORE 10 GOALS IN SUPERTEAM. THIS IS WHY ALAIN SHEARER IS GOD. HAALAND IS NOBODY
@Zzz Vain omg you're so negative.
Even as a rival fan, I can’t help but admire this guy. His talent and work ethic is second to none.
I am a die hard united fan, but Haaland is something else❤
Henry's face when erling says he scored 5 but wanted more 😂😂
2:05
Bro I was just thinking the same 🤣🤣 my guy seen a ghost
🤣🤣🤣That was my face either
😂😂
N. Mmo. M km.
Haaland's mentality is elite, it all makes sense why he's able to deliver at such a high level, consistently and we need more interviews like this from players.
henry taking of his glove to shake haaland's hand is pure class.
that are the small gestures that say much more about youre character then a lot of other behaviour
I'm so glad others noticed!
Henry does that many times during post-match interviews. Check previous interviews ;So humble a guy.
That's the Arsenal way, pure class.
@876martinn Thierry's class is all his own. You were lucky to have him, don't push it by claiming it as yours lol
Thierry Henry taking off his gloves to shake Erlings hand is a different level of respect!
That's common courtesy around here, hahaha
Being a lifetime Dortmund Supporter i love Haaland. What makes me such a Haaland fan is how humble and reflective he is about his own performances. The man score 5 goals and still could break down to exact detail each goal he missed.
Henry in his prime would be able to play in any era in any team.
Best player in the world 2002-05 imo until Ronaldinho overtook
@Aminoff Yea prime ronaldinho is the best player ever to grace the football field
@Srk agreed
Humble King, Thierry felt it, so did us all. Legend in the making
Halaand gives the mic 🎤 back and shakes hand with the assistant
This man is humble and respectful
His mentality and his attitude can only be admirable
The mic assistant looked surprised lol.
There is that video when the team were training and the players just threw the bibs on the floor. He went and picked some up and gave them to the kit man. And the kit man gave him a thankful pat on the back. Manners cost nothing
Mic assistant lol…he’s probably the producer. Not such thing as a mic assistant, other than sound engineer
@Jake H the point still stands, he didn't have to shake that mans hand whatsoever, but he did
He's humble in appearance 😉 , better than other forwards who think they are invincible.
It's amazing how Halland in one interview can say that he was brought in to help a top club win the champions league and STILL come across as a humble, modest, selfless guy. Great role model for the sport!
It’s good to see a player so hungry for himself and his team and be so humble. He deserves all the success he receives
He's like the embodiment of the fifa storyline always praising your team but he genuinely means it. Dude is the real deal. Can't wait to see where he goes but he's already put in some of the most legendary performances of all time at such a young age in so many different leagues
What a legendary mindset. I didn’t believe people talk about once in a generation atheletes until I saw erling. His level of play and even his misses are such close opportunities, being molded down to perfection. Its like creating a damn near maxed out character on fifa, but in reality this is one mans hard work, sweat, effort, and unmatchable talent
Always happy to see Titi on tv as an Arsenal fan, but cannot deny Haaland’s impact and his contributions to his team. Mad props.
This has to be a one of the best post-match interviews 😂
344 likes, no comments. Let me change that 😂
But all things considered, this is THE BEST post match interview
Halland talk no bs
You must not have watched many.
Hell yeah. I was dying laughing throughout the interview
The amount of respect he's gained after this game _and_ interview. I mean he is a star already, but it is nice to see a humble side to him and a respectful human being in an age of football divas.
The scary thing with him is he is this good but he also knows his weaknesses. He knows what he needs to improve on. Some players get caught up in their own ability and don’t figure out how to improve, it eventually catches up with them. So many examples of that.
Erling is such a character. And he's always himself. Says what's on his mind. Has a great sense of humor. Very happy for him, and to have him playing for Manchester City!
He makes it easy to be a fan of his. Outstanding person, outstanding player, outstanding team. Humble yet real; an eater of worlds, yet never satiated in success; a brilliant athlete, but a subtle assassin who slips into every nook and cranny of aggression; best I've ever seen in terms of pure scorer.
You must be a novelist, I love your description! 😀👍
An eater of worlds? jesus christ he's an athletic man who can hit a round object between some posts very well
Calm down mate
@dale grant You know what, dale, you're right. I'm an idiot. Thanks for correcting me. I'll do better in the future.
@Abdallah abdul rahaman I am actually =P I wonder what dale grant does for a living.
Best interview i have seen in awhile. Haaland is class on and off the pitch
The fact that he stood there and talked about what he needs to improve on... what a champion
He's an animal on the pitch . But outside he's incredibly humble and respectful. A class act that Haaland.
Like father, like son.
Tap in Poacher…… oh wait he’s not Ronaldo so we can’t say that.
@Toxx dude ronaldo could buy your entire blood line and more
@Toxx what’s wrong with being a poacher, it means consistent goals
That’s why everyone loves him...Ask about him from all of his former teammates and hear them say very great things about him(with regards to his character and personality )...Imagine buying everyone at Dortmund a costume made Rolex watches (from his wages)... Pure class
Such a great personality! His interviews are always gold… Proper normal humble dude, but the best finisher I’ve seen since R9
This man is not only a goal machine human tank, but also a humble, intellectual and smart person. This characteristics will make him one of the best in football history. Like even if he quits his football career he would be a succesful business man or something.
He is a very likeable man! Hats off to mum and dad, they’ve raised a great kid!!
As a Liverpool fan, I can’t see how you can hate a guy like this. World class footballer that will become one of the greats in Norwegian football. Down to earth and scores bags of goals🤟🏾
I love this young man. Erling is genuinely such a nice person with thoughtful responses and so fun to watch on the pitch.
glad he made sure to shake everyones hand, class player and character
It still must be mentioned that...he recognizes the only woman on the crew, as no less (or better) than any of the rest. Except of course, stating the obvious...that Thierry is the only other strong goal-scorer amongst present company.
was nice he shook the womens hand who went in for it but had that awkward nevermind when he looked down for a second but then he gave her one lol
That would be normal are we giving praise for manners now,
@John McIntosh well when some players don’t do it it’s not the norm anymore.
Incredible interview as always with Erling Haaland. The only footballer to speak with this amazing spirit
Even with that stardom glad seeing him still so down to earth and respectful to anyone he encounters.
It's difficult to believe that this is still a young lad only 22 years old...so humble and honest. Would be incredible to see him score the winning goal for City in the Champions League final...come on City!!!.
Seems weird to say that about a footballer who scores insane amounts of goals at his age but the best thing about him is how well adjusted he is. He's self reflected, humble and funny. Which makes him probably easy to work with as a teammate and coach. Can't wait to see which heights Mbappé and Haaland will reach, especially now after the Messi and Ronaldo era has ended.
My favorite part of the interview was when Earling said he had to get better with his left foot, right foot, and heading. I freaking love how simple and unscripted his responses are!
Erling Haaland is so down to earth, and he's even self critical of himself and wants to get better, that's absolutely amazing, that's a mentality of a beast.
Plllil
I honestly can't see how he is down to earth...
I was really fortunate to be in attendance for the match tonight. Wow! What a player, and after listening to this interview my opinion of him has increased even more. Elite mentality and hunger! Titi Henry is clearly a fan, which means a lot. I noticed the two of them share a little look and a laugh after the match when Haaland was applauding the supporters with the match ball under his arm. That’s a moment I’ll remember.
What an inspiring young man. I hope the kids of today are watching and learning not just in football but in attitude. Stay humble
The fact that Henry took off his glove and shakes Haaland’s hand was pure respect
He’s a lovable bloke. Don’t be ashamed
He did it 4 Arteta too.... Henry been classy from the get go
Classy to everyone but the Irish
@Peter Runrig When has Haaland ever spoke to an Irish person?
I loved Henry's glove removal every time he shook Erling's hand!! Class act 👏
Haaland is a class player. A beast on the field and humble and respectful when off the field.
Can’t help but notice how he talks about how the team scoring the 7, not just how he scores 5. Top class.
You can tell that's a result of Pep, when he was asked about the match he barely mentioned Haaland. Pep and Haaland himself clearly both expect this level of play from him, both extremely humble and benevolent guys.
@Naffin Pep isn't humble though
He didn’t score 5 on his own thought, team mates and opponent mistakes gifted him most. He’s no messi and never will be.
@Mark you mean messi score without his teammates 😆
@Mark watch ur words very carefully
Thierry Henry taking his glove off to shake Haaland's hand at the end oozes more class than pretty much any footballer you could think of.
My man just scored 5 goals and is saying there’s still room for improvement, that’s a first class athlete right there 💯
La classe de Thierry! Il ne peut pas toucher une main sans enlever son gant! RESPECT!
This was fantastically wholesome. I can't get enough of you guys. Add in Haaland to that and you have one of the best interveiws ever.
Thierry Henry taking his gloves off to shake hands. Respect!
what makes that respectful?
@Olly Db The fact that it is disrespectful to shake hands in gloves...
Wants to check Haaland for gears and wires.
@Kristóf Szakács what if he scratched his balls with his gloves off and the gloves were actually protecting Halaand from the crabs???
@Olly Db Seriously?
That interview made me love Haaland even more seeing his potential.
Go the blues!
I don't know if it's just me, but it seems Thierry looked almost afraid at Erling's potential and hunger. And what intelligence he has as a player as well.
But I also want to mention beside Haalands supreme class, they gave him good questions ending in a more humble conversation than in an interview. That was nice to watch ♥
Such a humble man, he is so talented. Always aiming to improve himself, huge respect, you deserve the champion's league .
He deserves EVERYTHING he gets, his humility is top level! I know where I've seen that humility before - in a certain Lionel Messi!
I'm a Liverpool fan, but you cannot not appreciate the goal machine Haaland is in world football, he's absolutely a Norwegian phenomena and he'll probably be one of the greats in history. Plus he seems to be a cool dude to be around.
Fairplay mate!💯👊
@Ryan Schultz Yeah, enjoy his display while you can before other clubs snatch him up. People like him don't come around the scene that often...
Been a Chelsea fan since Drogba had his hair permed. Haaland is an amazing player and an even better lad off the pitch. Well done mate!
Hope he gets to play in the world cup finals in 2024!
@Peter Runrig what 💀
Just started watching football mid last year and I’m loving the sport. I love this crew for the CL games aswell great chemistry between them. They give me inside the NBA vibes🔥
Listening to him talk is inspirational. What a smart young man.
Haaland’s footballing brain ans reactions are amazing - he reads the game so well. Gets on the end of so many chances and finishes so accurately most of the time
An absolute relentless machine scoring 5 goals in round 16 and the most crucial season so far 💙💙💙
incredible personality. have we ever seen a world's best act like that on a interview... ever? he's a machine on the field but a actual human being outside
You won’t see many say “I could’ve been better all around” after netting 5 in a champions league game. Unreal hunger this man! What a monster!!
Cause Fruadiola subbed him off 😐
he definitely could've done so much better and everyone knows that, until baldy subbed him off
Also You won't see many score 5 Fkng goals in a champions league match
@Lucky mark bozo
@Sahat Rizki bozo 2.0
Best post match interview I've ever seen 🔥🔥🔥
Halaand what a player
What a guy ❤
As an arsenal fan… this guy is a machine… love his confidence but also humble in the same way…
He knows his game...one of the best players in the modern era....
This guy is going to smash records, damn he's so calm and cool outside but inside the pitch he's another beast in human form
The facts are clear, Erling is always there to get the rebounds as well as the passes! He does extremely well at seeing where he can position himself to get all those rebounds! He follows the balls into the box and his vision is what the whole team needs to improve! Unfortunately for Leipzig, Erling read the rebounds with near perfection, thus he is just incredible! Sure De Bruyne also knows where to position the ball for Erling too and it seems all players are attempting the same thing! Well done City, well done Erling!
Haaland's mentality is amazing. What an incredible player.🙌🏾
As a United fan I hate how much I love his mentality. Guy is truly a beast and I'm glad a player of his quality is in the Premier League.. Even though it hurts our chances to win things.
A true striker! Scored five goals and had missed opportunities clear in his mind to improve moving forward!
* scores 5* 22 years old, has a aftermatch interview and talks like he was a 30 year old with experience. Erling haaland mindset is so level headed yet ambitious, he is smart and humble.
Wait isn't he 32?!
He's Norwegian, great family background. He's clever too.
That's truly a very enjoyable interview. Felt like he was just chatting with old friends.
BVB misses him. A true gentleman. Authentic, smart and a bulldozer at the pitch. A highlight to watch him.
As a City hater, the worst thing about Haaland is how much I like him. Such a great guy
Bruh why you hate city tho?
True why hate a club with less fans than spurs In Britain, and before 2011 spurs had a richer history?
@my memories they definitely don’t have less fans than Tottenham 💀
@قرفص In Britain spurs 3 million to city 1 million, worldwide yes city has substantially more.
@my memories a city fan from India. Really true that domestic city fans are comparatively less, but across the globe we are in huge numbers
What a man, you can only love him
Arsenal fan here applauding this. What an interview. Chemistry of the pundit team is elite (& class from Henry over the glove). However main thing is Haaland just presented himself in the way we hope all our sporting heroes present. Humble, honest & grounded. What a testament to his support team, his family & him for such a refreshing mindset. Loved his attitude & class - that last moment where he gives back the mic to the runner & shakes his hand is 'off camera' & says a lot. We should treasure him being in the prem (& please have an off day against us when we come to the Etihad)
Such a genuine man. Can’t help to love him
What a legend, that first joke got me rolling haha, he is just on the wring side of Manchester.
English is not my first language. Would you care to explain that first joke please?
I really did not get it. I was looking to the comments for some explanation but it seems you are the only one who has commented on the joke.
I’m Arsenal fan, but Halaand is such a humble and likeable chap. That’s by leaving out his monstrous scoring ability and talent!
My respect for Haaland jusy sky rocketed. He's a goal scoring genius 👏
he’s pumping his first right now coz he’s got the respect of Nenyi Eduafo-Sackey
@Junayd Abdullah No he's doing exactly that because he's scored 5 goals in a UCL game...
What a great guy. Never seen him interviewed before and I'm well impressed. Humble, funny and, of course, loving life.
Lol the look Henry had on his face after Haaland said you have to be hungry for the next one not happy about the 5 previous had me dying.
So matter of fact.. so humble.. so fun loving .. he is truly the complete package man.. I admit when he came to the prems I hated on him big time.. he's grown on me and I love to see him in this magical form.. truly something spectacular that I am so happy to be able to watch and for him to be part of this generation
Haalands amazing humbleness is because of his father. he knows how blessed he is, to be where he is. and how quickly it can be taken away. play every game as if it is your last Son..
His Knowledge Of The Game Is Incredible And Its Wonderful To See How He Wants Everyone To Succeed
Haaland is well mannered, well spoken & shows great wisdom for one so young. He is going to be THE GOAT!
Unfortunately coz he doesn’t play for a big country he’ll never win the wc but he can become the CL goat
every scandinavian is well mannered.
@bjor fossum We’re definitely not, but thanks!
maybe in terms of goalscoring but never in football ability. the way messi and ronaldo could go past a wholte team alone and messi as well with his playmaking ability that is just something else. he is a monster of a striker though.
This man is Dangerously good and would be an asset to any team and at only 22 yes /22 I wonder how many millions go for big respect to the fella ☮️❤️
You get everything you need to know about him right at the end. Shakes everyone's hand, including the guy he hands the microphone to.
Love how Henry took off his glove to give him a proper handshake how humble and genuine Haaland is and how about Micah so proud of Haaland like they are best buds loved it!
I'd cry if I got to talk to Haaland, what a player and what a role model
Erling Haaland is a machine but he couldn't be more human, I love this guy man. He can only get better and has the right mentality to become the very best
Despite being the best, he shows pure class and shows true humility. He should clearly win every footballing accolade this year
Well I believe nomatter how many goals he score and titles he wins he will get very few ballendore. Just because he is from Norway. He should chosen to play for England. That would given him the chance to play in all Euros and WC.
He was born in Leeds played for them as a kid and after that for City. His dream is lifting prem and UCL playing for Leeds.
But I guess City will be fine to😃👍
Dont say that. World cup doesnt give you a free ticket to balondor. After Messi retires, he will have little competition.
He has improved his talk so much!! Absolutely love him!
He is probably the most likeable world class talent ever
Even as a rival fan you can’t hate the guy and any young striker looking to haaland as inspiration would genuinely be good for them :)
He still got alot to learn but when he reaches his full potential going to be a even bigger monster than he is
He is a modern throwback. He has the physical presence of John Charles and the goal instincts of Jimmy Greaves. He has the pace and athleticism of Gareth Bale and the power in the air of Ronaldo. Combine that with the goal ratio and humble attitude of Messi and you have one hell of a player. A monster.
How will he handle the transition to the Preamier League, though? Too psysichal and fast, perhaps?
@NorwegianTaxAuthorities He destroyed the EPL 😂
Humble attitude of messi. Lmao. one of the most arrogant player there is.
well said
Henry's last question is referencing to his comments from a few weeks ago imo, where he reveals tips he got that improved him as a striker, and how he thinks haaland could improve, ie, understanding teammates' gameplay and how he could bring the best out of them. Haaland's response is spot on, glad he's learning and absorbing guidance, even if it's not given to him personally but on a random show. Shows his hunger to improve, and I love it.
I was waiting for someone to point that out. Thierry said what Haaland is lacking is to make his teammates better and that’s exactly what Haaland said he needs to get better at this interview. Unreal mentality this guy.
Such a good kid man. Parents must be proud of him
I want to see this man thrive, what a guy!
Un classique. Masterclass signé Haaland
I am not easily impressed but I like the things Haaland says and the way he sees it all as much as his results. Very impressive!
