A good learning experience for the next WC. Regardless of additional motivation, Croatia are just too good for Canada to beat them.
Their midfield took control after about 30 min and from then on it was over for Canada.
A lot of media guys disrespected Croatia, they might be older but they finished second at 2018, at the Euro they lost to Spain in extra time, and in the recent nations league the won the group with France,Denmark and Austria(losing only to Austria - 4W1D1L record) and suddenly everyone thought Canada will qualify instead of them.Canada did better then expected so far and they have good team to build around for the next world cup.
well, if Croatia is older then Canada is too. People don't realize but the average age of both teams is pretty similar

@Capl Uio I meant Croatia team is older compared to their previous team (16euro18WC 20euro).Also their players have MUCH MORE GAMES played in their careers compared to Canada players.Age is not the only indicator.
@Viktor Iliev then you talking about experience not age. Lack of experience does not make Canada a young team. They are still old . I'm too lazy to check, but I'm pretty sure Croatia was older in 2018 and 2021 than it is now.

We played very naively after taking the lead, we played right into Croatia's hands, carrying the ball forward slowly and trying to play a possession game, and letting them strike on the counterattack... too bad we couldn't get a result against Belgium, but as a Canadian, at the start of this qualifying cycle, I honestly would have been happy with just getting into the final Concacaf qualifying round, so I really can't complain...

Canada did fine when you look at all of the contributing factors, including the "super-rich planted official" in game one. They scored on Croatia which is in-of-itself awesome. I played for a Croatian football team in my day. Agree; worst thing to do. Weird, but if we went 1-0 down early, we usually responded with at least 3 goals...

You would have to actually make it on a regular enough basis to at least chance a head to head. Since money hungry FIFA did you the favour of expanding the competition, you now have no excuses in that regard. As for a rivalry, take a ticket and get in line.
Rivalry is between two adversaries of the proper level. Like Croatia and England or France.
