@Snappy One he looks a bit corpish in this much needed sequel . I am now eagerly awaiting triplets with youngsters 75 year old arnie , 90 years young bro Danny and Tracy Morgan or Eddie Murphy. I hope this important sequel goes to one of my 16 streaming apps or I might have to catch it with COVID at my local hospital cinema 🤪

This movie was everything you wouldn't want a sequel to be. Amazingly I sat through it all until the very painful end just to make sure there was no doubt in the failure. Even with the onslaught of character reprisals, the joy of reminiscing slowly diminished as each one vwas brought out in what seemed to be a timely manner. I can only assume that the activation of this film was based on polls and threads, and not that of a genuine script that would capture the hearts of a new audience but rekindle the flame in established fans. Disappointed and ripped off.

It should have been made. They should’ve done a 30 year reunion special similar to what The Fresh Prince show did a while ago

I haven’t seen it, but that’s how it appears. Basically like the story line was second to cramming in all of the wild characters. It’s like coming up with a distinct song title, and then writing the song around it (not the best strategy for making meaningful art).

The trailer was enough of a clue how pathetic this would be. I actually had interest in twins sequel until it was a decade later and here we are still no product and well they are so old it would need new title . I’m in the past with nostalgia🤪

This is a warning. One of the most woeful movies I’ve ever seen.
Even in covid times, there are thousands and thousands of more ways to better spend 2hrs than watch this drivel. After watching the new Bond film, along with this sad excuse for a movie, my hopes for anything of depth and fortitude coming out of Hollywood will be met with extreme skepticism and will tell you why, those giving this a positive review are to blame, you’re essentially telling Hollywood “yes, this is good, more of this please” which in turn sets the bar ridiculously low. Good luck being entertained in 2021 and beyond, you’ve done this to yourself.

Just finished watching this movie and I am crying tears of joy. Let me tell ya, the first time I watched this movie I was with my mom when I was still a little kid, living in a former USSR. I still remember my mom telling me how when she first watched this movie, before I was even in the project, how she thought Shari Headley was the most beautiful woman she ever saw. I agree, so much grace, she is out of this word. But of course every character is magical. This movie was our first introduction to American life. Years later we immigrated to the US and now, 30 years later I am watching Coming to America 2 and reliving my childhood memories. I don’t care what reviews would be given by harsh critics, I loved it! I loved it with all my heart because it is a kind movie that gives out good vibes and brings up important social issues while not being too overbearing. Thank you Eddie Murphy for this timeless classic and for a serving childhood memories. They are priceless!

#Coming2America was not meant to be better than the first. Eddie made this for the culture. Seeing us on screen and it NOT BE ABOUT SLAVERY or police killing us was a refresher. Seeing Arsenio Hall and John Amos was a treat. Seeing Wesley Snipes on screen again looking like fresh coco butter was great. Hearing James Earl Jones voice was music to my ears.
33 years ago movies were setting trends. We get excited over gorilla glue now. So yea.
Reality tv and shock news like the shade room has us messed up mentally on how we view shows.
Omg..... having an all black cast, black writer and then filming it on Tyler Perry studio was icing on the cake. Eddie did this for the fans. We needed this. We needed this movie to watch laugh and relax to.
We so used to us being killed on screen, or assisinated or trapped in a fake slave camp. Infidelity. Yall dont get tired of that okie dokie bs?
Oh and shout out to Peaches and her sister haaaaaaaaaaa I loved it. Eddie went looking for them. The black skin the black the black skinnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn I love it
Also Bella Murphey did a great job on her acting debut.
The hair the attire, everything was on point
    Black excellence.

    Filme bem fraco infelizmente.

I was in the worst mood mid-yesterday and earlier today, and this movie cheered me up. Thank you JESUS for everything, Special thanks to my friend, Monica for showing Saturday's movie flicks. The conflict, foreshadowing, plot, and more were precise, preeminent, and profound. It was good to see the old and new characters, Salt and Pepa and more. So, grab your kids or nieces and nephews, make some popcorn or tacos, and enjoy a night of laughter, leisure, and love. Trust me, this movie is so MAGNIFICENT, you don't want to keep it to yourself. KUDOS to Eddie Murphy and his crew for a job well done.

So I've finally watched it! I have to say Eddie Murphy is a very subtle wise intelligent man. It shows in work throughout his lifetime. Just every movie this man made was crazy and insanely ON POINT. Especially for the times we were in. I really appreciated the scene with the Young Man trying to get a job! That was exactly ON POINT. Eddie looked so good and Chocolate, as I watched him with my boyfriend sitting next to me. 🤪🤪😆😆Mmmmhmmmm mmmmmmM! I loved everyone who came back and brought the TRUTH back with em!!!! OMG. I loved everything and EVERYONE. I LOVED LESLIE JONES. I was a jealous too.... I really liked her bio about how old she was when she broke into the business. THANK YOU LESLIE FOR GIVING ME HOPE. We need to turn coming to America into a series, with the original cast as they evolve and bring in newer cast that represents their people and the times they're in as well. Great Work Kings Queens and Empires Empress and Emperors..

I just watched it! I was 8 years old the first time I watched this. I have waited 30 years for this. I must say the wait for this was killing me! They always say the first one is always better and in this case I must agree. While it was funny in some parts is seemed to focus a lot on nostalgia for the most part. It was great to see our old favorite characters back like the Barber shop boys, Sexual Chocolate, The Reverend and so forth. However, the plot was ridiculous! I'm not a writer and even I could have come up with a better script that would have been more appealing to all of us that grew up on this movie. The movie was worth watching just to see what could have been a great movie. However, I'll stick to the first one and pretend I never saw this one. For all I'm concealed they can throw this back in the can and burn it. I'm sorry folks! It was not good nor does it have the cinematic quality's the first one brought us. It is not even worth the first free month of Amazon Prime just to watch it. In fact I wish I never watched it! It kinda makes me mad because it could have been better if they would have just stuck with the basics! Dammit! Sorry Eddie and Arsenio!

Best comedy movie series ever. Period. It gave justice to the first movie by "honoring" it, not trying to out do it. I fell in love with the movie over again. Besides, racism was one of the points that the Black Panther film commented on if you know what I mean. RIP Chadwick Bosworth. I need to watch this good sh*t now 😂😂😂😂 I showed my first daughter "Mean Girls" to de-hypnotize her. She was happy. I have been looked upon as mostly Hispanic when I was in America. I'm probably the only one who feels sad about this new Coming to America movie. My cousin Rafael and I have watched the first part since the early 90's and it brought us so much fun. We have seen it maybe hundreds of times and we practically memorized almost all of the famous lines, especially the songs. My cousin would imitate them really well, and it ws so funny.
In July of last year, he died of complications of pneumonia, and it was really heartbreaking for me. Sometimes I would see part 1 available in Netflix, and I would think of my cousin Rafael. Then I saw this part 2 trailer and there's this feeling of excitement but also sadness. =(

There was a problem creating the sequel because of the lawsuits Eddie was going through, one with Art Buchwald accused Murphy of stealing his script of this movie, and that a prince named Oman Oba Adele Mouftaou claimed Murphy made a film about his life without his consent back in 1991. If not for those mishaps, I think Eddie would have made the sequel earlier.

DISAPPOINTED - I didn't like the second one. They tried too hard and it didn't work. For example,
in the first movie everything seemed to happen naturally. In contrast, the new Coming to America over does things too much i.e. those silly walks, gross jokes etc. To summarise, I think the story lines in the original Coming to America were written in an intelligent and thoughtful way while in the new one the story lines were dumb, plus the stupid cheap "jokes".
