GABRIEL VINYL FIGURE ONLY AVAILABLE UNTIL DECEMBER 17TH !!!!! www.makeship.com/products/gabriel-vinyl-figure thank you guys for watching, hope you all enjoyed!! really poured my soul into this one :)
Yes. Also the Face cam reminded me of the creepy nintendo face camera game that would have distorted faces and captions like 'who are you running from?'. Its bringing back alot of nostalgic childhood horror from back in the day.
For people who don't like "Gabriel's" new voice, that voice isn't theirs, it's that of the pastor who called dave. The tts voice is still there and most likely it is his real voice. After all, "Gabriel" is the first alternative.
I don’t really think that’s the case. They share a voice actor, but O’Brien was Gabriel in disguise anyway. When Gabriel revealed himself he stopped pretending to be O’Brien, and you can even hear that he stops having a southern accent. I think that is his actual voice and that O’Brien’s voice was fabricated.
I know this is supposed to be scary, but I was giggling the entire time Adam was like "dude it really sucks that Jonah's gone buuuuut i got this sick ass footage bro" and Sarah is just like "wtf bro" and then she hits him with the "this is why your girl left you" funny as hell
Ngl, 16:40 scared the absolute bejesus out of me. This, this is just one of the many reasons why I like this channel. No lead-up. No intense music. Just the intense feeling of deep wrongness and pervasive dread. This is a moment taken from someone's private life, a moment that no one should see. But someone is watching. Half-hidden and entirely a violation. This by itself is horrifying enough. But then I remembered something from my film studies classes as I sat down to write all this; the purpose of a camera is to act as an eye, and our role is to function as silent witnesses. We are privy to situations and scenes that the normal person would never experience; we know more about the characters we see than anyone else behind the screen. More relevantly, we are voyeurs in the truest sense; voyeur, or "one who sees." But also, we are voyeurs in the basest sense as well. We derive pleasure from watching, albeit not the kind that voyeurs are most known for, but pleasure nonetheless; you can't tell me you don't enjoy watching things on screens, because this is literally a Clip-Share comment section. And this, this right here is a big part of the reason why this moment is so terrifying. Not only is there an unwanted spectator to someone's private life, WE are unwanted spectators as well. There are two, or technically over 1 million (as of the time of this comment) if you want to make this a global experience instead of a personal one, lookers. We, watchers through the camera, see this figure in the shadows who is acting out the reality of what we are doing. They are us. And we are NOT supposed to be there. We're here, but we see someone, or something, very much like us and acting in the same role as us -- a witness. And because of this, there's this awareness in your subconscious of a subtle recognition, and it just feels incredibly wrong. As it should; we're looking at a facsimile of human life, a personification of uncanny valley. But that's not the whole reason why. You see, up until this point in the video, you had no problem with watching. You were fine, or perhaps even more than fine, watching Thatcher undress and get into his bed. Despite it being a gross violation of privacy, you didn't care; it didn't occur to you to care. And why would it? It's not like Thatcher is real. You are enabled and protected by the camera; the camera, with its ability to peer into limitless facets of its subjective reality, gives you distance. You are not the one in control, you are getting your experiences secondhand. Thus, distance. And then you see a reflection of you. A figurative and literal voyeur. Unseen and intent, and something approaching ravenous. And that jolt of unpleasantness jerks you from your comforting insulation. No longer is your passivity a shield, it is a restriction. In the vaguest of ways, you are now aware of how much your situation has in common with Thatcher. You are both powerless, only you are aware of your helplessness. You cannot alert Thatcher, if you should feel so inclined. You have no impact and you are less than nothing. In fact, you are now cognizant of the possibility that you, like Thatcher, are just unaware of your spectators and could very much be in the same position as him. I don't know if any of this is intentional, or if Alex just intuited into the perfect way to creep out a viewer, or if I'm just reading too deeply into things as per usual. Anyway, sorry for the essay. Actually, if I was still in school, I'd probably write an essay about this channel. I'm surprised this idea is now just occurring to me; I'll have to rewatch everything and look for how the theme of surveillance and watching is treated, since it's been a while since I watched the early videos. TL;DR Alex Kister is a genius, 16:40 is basically looking at a mirror through another mirror except each reflection is more nightmarish than the last, and I now would like my skin to stop trying to crawl out of itself now thanks.
@Paintball's second channel What I wrote was a reflection on the nature of the watcher, dissecting how and why it works to scare us on a fundamental level. I went into why, not only the person in the closet is creepy, but why the whole scene is creepy. But I'm not sure you actually read it, or even skimmed it. Because I already apologized for the 'essay' and made a TL;DR at the bottom for people who wanted a quick summary. And, I'm sorry, but taking five paragraphs to dissect a scene isn't all that impressive in a college-level film class. In a field where you literally look at camera angles as giving insight into a deeper meaning, writing five to ten pages per film is about average.
If you need to write 5 paragraphs about something as simple as that, then your looking way too deep into this. No clue how more than 2 paragraphs can be made about someone in a closet
@ImNotZero College gave me a lot of practice. 5-6 paragraphs?? Child's play. And time. It took maybe a half an hour to an hour to write this, but I had to get my thoughts out there; the idea was too good not for other people to see. And if you get MADS in the process, well, that's just too bad. :)
37:54 "The flicker of the TV illuminated this bedroom. Drowning out the darkness with his favorite programs. Do you remember how we became friends? The light scared off all the monsters, it kept him safe. Do you remember my face? With contorted flesh and broken bones, I made myself known. Do you remember my touch? I cradled him in my arms. My sweet boy. I took him away. Do you remember that night, Murray? When you stare into the mirror, you see the same monsters from your bedroom, don't you? But your skin is not your own. You're not the real you."
This was... a great production, but underwhelming compared to the rest of the series, as in, it's very different, in a way, a jpeg shouldn't be scarier than this, but the context with the pictures just made my mind go ways. This one is great, but... yeah.
The most fascinating thing for me truly was both 3D alternates, such a amazing work of art.. But i can't stop thinking about how Gabriel voice changes simply by the fact that he's mimicking humans, the fact that he sounds outrageous just made it a lot more creepier, specially when put into thought how low this "being" looks upon humanity itself.. Brilliant, brilliant work Alex!! This 4 vol. connecting all the dots from previous ones is really starting to build a horror masterpiece and possibly a new trendy horror genre. I haven't felt like this since the early days of FNAF, the illusive "creatures" along with the story and all the different archetypes behind it, i just can't get enough of this!! * Personal opinion * The " Mandela Catalogue " franchise, SCREAAAMS for a horror game, has literally all the perfect elements for a new horror experience.
I feel like people don’t appreciate the face studio 2 scene enough, it fits right in the uncanny valley and feels absolutely like something someone would make in the 2000’s the black and white screen, the robotic text to speech, the creepy animations, it just all feels so legit and oddly nostalgic Really great stuff
Adam gleefully forcing Sarah to look at the very creatures that made her brother kill himself is horrifying if he’s an alternate, but if he’s _not_ and he’s just so hellbent on catching the monsters that killed his mother/possibly his ex girlfriend, that it’s turned into a sick fascination/obsession with them, it’s even _more_ brutal. EDIT: I’m not saying I don’t believe that Adam could be an alternate; it is very likely that he is. I’m just saying that all the creepy stuff he does in this volume would be a lot creepier and sadder (to me, personally), if he wasn’t an alternate and had just gone off the deep end.
@Yummy nah fam, real adam or human adam as a baby IS the one who got kidnapped. The intruder just left Our Current Adam / Alternate Adam as a replacement. Just so happens, that this 'replacement' forgot, didn’t know he wasn’t the original fine print.
@Pebbless654 Sarah says that Adam "left Jonah". I figured that Adam caught up to the car and found Jonah dead. He then took the car. I'm honestly guessing about some of this. I don't know if we're meant to think Adam killed Jonah - that Jonah's grunt when exiting the car was due to an attack by Adam. But I don't think so.
I’m on the verge of tears and I don’t cry like ever. This series is everything I love and look for in a story. Angst. Humor. Fear. Lore. Thank you so much for creating this series. I can’t wait to see it grow.
@zymphyr yeah, if he's an alternate, than that explains it but if he's just some insane dude than that's infinitely more creepy. Just some dude so set in his ways that he doesn't care who gets caught in the crossfire. The scariest people are ones who will do anything for their goal and don't have anything to lose
@PussMaster119 that’s because he’s most likely an alternate, but i do think that it would be infinitely more creepy if he wasn’t and that’s just how deranged he is
Yeah, it really shows during this part. He forces Sarah to look at something she's so terrified of. He disregards Jonah's abbsense, basically being like "sucks to suck I guess but I've got some really good footage" it's kinda scary. He has one goal and he doesn't really care about others
when wendigoon remarked on how the production value exponentially grows in this series.. well. anyways, i think this entry was really really fascinating :) there's definitely less of the "scary" factor but i don't think that makes the series bad at all, especially since alex has said that he's moving more away from horror + the analog style. it's a really engaging story and i'm still really curious about things happening in it, super cool and love this volume just as much as the others
@EmmaJ.K.88 the whole thing started out as part of analog horror. I'm a sucker for that kind of content. Now if he wants to move away from that, and make it like any generic non scary horror movie , then I'm not gonna stay for that..
@Shy That's really sad that you feel that way then. There is a great story going on here, and the series is more than just the "scares". Most people can see that. Alex is growing as a creator and going in a direction that he has already planned. We should be able to appreciate it.
this vol reveals a new type of alternate. ill list them all because im bored Type 1- Doppelgänger Can fit perfectly into society. Almost no flaws Type 2- Unspeakable More notable flaws. Easier to recognize Type 3- Overdriven Assimilation Inhuman capacities. Recognizable due to being in their true form 99% of the time. Type 4- Mimic Shaped to be inanimate objects. Can be recognizable due to audible breathing. Type 5- Tulpa Can be seen through mirrors and TVs Type 6- Sleepers Kids who were kidnapped by 6 turned into alternates. None of them know they are.
These Mandela Catalogue videos keep getting better and better! And more lengthier as well! Love the use of actors and green screen backgrounds, the dark atmosphere definitely gives off the vibes of a hopeless world! Can’t wait to see what’s in store in the next episode!
I Love Mandela But It Kinda Feels To Me That While Budget Has Increased, Production Quality And Effort Put In Went Down A Slight Bit And It's Noticeable Though I Still Love It.
I absolutely LOVE how if you listen close enough when Gabriel is speaking, you can still hear the og TTS voice, please never change Gabriel's tts voice it's perfect for him 🙌
I don’t know how to feel about this part, I absolutely loved the first 3 volumes, maybe I’m just more into the analogue videos but then I really liked the voice acting in volume 2 and 3, where this I felt it was a bit wooden, also I know people have said this in the comments but I’m not a big fan of Gabriel’s voice.
25:12 Exposure to verbal information that is not desired to be known. 27:25 Biologically impossible characteristics. 28:03 "A thriving society of followers of the true savior. A mess of tangled limbs danced around my bedroom. I held my breath, and waited for it to stop. I was too scared to- (I am unable to make it out, voices begin overlapping) I am the-----why you evade the truth-uth-uth-uth-uth" 37:54 "The flicker of the TV illuminated his bedroom. Drowning out the darkness with his favorite programs. Do you remember how we became friends? The lights scared off all the monsters. They kept you safe. Do you remember my face, With contorted flesh and broken bones? I made myself known. Do you remember my touch? I cradled him in my arms. My sweet boy. I took him away. Do you remember that night, Murray? When you stare into the mirror? You see the same monsters from your bedroom, don't you? But your skin is not your own. You're not the real yo-"
Yo, i love this! The way it gets my heart racing, fingers trembling, I feel blood pulsing on the edges if my body, it sounds bad, but it’s honestly a fun feeling, super interesting, keep it up! Love it
Alex is just too talented! These just keep getting better and better! Also, Gabriel the bastard, Gabriel my beloved got a voice now?? And it fits him so well??? Alex Kister you madman you've done it yet again!
Adam is an alternate, but has forgotten. As the intruder says, his skin is not his own, and he is not the real him. Also, during the “memorial video” for Jonah, Evelin says that he said things to her that she “wished he had never told me.” He told her the information that is undesired to be known that causes M.A.D.
@Noctizide stands for Metaphysical awareness disorder, it is spread by alternates in an attempt at making people end their lives to take over their appearance. it is information that is undesired to be known, most likely about religion. i dont think adam is an alternate, intruder tries to make him end his life so he says that, adam only survived alternates because alternates cant attack you, they can only spread M.A.D, and adam is not afraid of the information.
@the upper room so if adam does find out he is an alternate then what would he do would he continue to live like a human or not if he already has feelings and connection with people
It seems like there are two different kinds of evil in this series One of which is Gabriel which believes in "if there are more of me out there, then there are less control of mankind" The other is 6 aka stranger aka Stanley, who has stolen a child and brought "something" back. (It could be the 'real' or fake Adam that we are speaking to.) It could also imply that Adams alternate never left and basically casted a shadow onto Adam and he can't sleep at all because it's been constantly haunting him both consciously and subconsciously, not even knowing what is real or not, and just having random moments of peace (somehow knowing where the car was and walked for miles, not even knowing where Jonah is.) The thing I love the most about this volume is the stranger being "summoned" like a demon to Adam and telling him false truths and Adam himself has to figure out what he is saying is real or what is fake.
Okay, for one, I'm getting some serious SAW and Silent Hill vibes. This went from being just a regular 80s 90s analogue horror series, to now being very similar to what Silent Hill offered from the live action films as well as the video games...Stunning, but the story in this one is all over the place, and not really precise on how I should follow it. Thankfully people will debunk and go through this video in better explanation. And thinking that the live action filmed portions were weird and not really fit, as time went on though they actually do have a purpose of why it's there. Now, mandela, a town that was full of great people, now becomes nothing more than a ghostown, and that's awful to live and be in that town that no longer has a ton of people living there now would it. EDIT: Well, now seeing the whole thing, it all starts to make sense at the end of the video, where it all connects. Now I see why it took this long to get here. And all of this happened between 1985 and 2010. Interesting.
Now to wait for wendigoon to make a video explaining all the amazing details I missed lol This vid was great! More amazing cgi work, and alotnof creepy ideas!
the part where the alternate went behind dave and started laughing, that was honestly a bit cringe, with dave also shivering weirdly. also the part with the emo guy was a bit weird, but other than that it was all great
The wiggle arms made me gafaw with laughter, they either didn’t try or tried to hard. There are no heart sink moments anymore, all the backgrounds look unrealistic asf, we didn’t need everything to be show in this way
I really liked your video of volume 4 and the characters I liked before are the alternate ones, they had the ability to transform into people and also the voice that changed differently person that deceives them to attract them and then kill them but If you start to include people in person you have to do it very well so that it doesn't look too boring or also action and scare when volume 5 comes out it has to be better, some betrayal and scare It would just be that and goodbye 👋
I somewhat noticed this after TV Tropes pointed this out, but if you listen very closely to Gabriel's speech, you can just barely hear his text to speech whisper below his actual voice.
Sadly this is probably the least frightening video in the series. As much fun as the live action stuff probably was to shoot, it has nothing on just the audio and still images of the first three. The mind filling in the gaps is what makes some of the moments in the series so tense. With fuzzy pictures and blurry pov cam quality, you can hide the low production costs; but when you have clear as day people against those eerie images, it's just down right silly. Especially the hands scene and David killing Mr. sunglasses, it's just too goofy.
I agree. It’s ok if it’s not as scary as the other volumes, but it didn’t feel scary enough because some of the live-action scenes broke the immersion. I still love this series though.
I liked that volume, the scenario is really good, Thatcher voice actor is S-tier, most of the phrases have a deep meaning : "A scared boy with a gun, sounds familiar" for example, is very chilling and the portraits are really uncanny. However, that live action style makes everything way less scary and uncanny, I don't feel really concerned for myself since I'm watching from an outside perspective and I'm not in their shoes. I'm not very fond of Thatcher alternate CGI but it's my opinion, some peoples find it really cool. I may not be a fan of that 3D model, but I love the intruder's one at the end, he became one of my favorite vilain just from how cool he looks/acts. On another note, Gabriel's new voice looks really goofy, don't get me wrong, the actor did a fantastic job, however, it gives him a goofy cartoon vilain vibe, especially when he laughed. I also miss that text to speech voice, even tho we can slightly hear it when he's speaking, it's too quiet to be really noticeable. I would have loved a mix between that new voice and his text to speech voice, something like 50% text to speech and 50% real voice, (or the real voice on the right hear and tts voice on the left) it would have shown that Gabriel is evolving while still being uncanny. I hope you didn't had a stroke while reading my comment, i'm really sick and my monkey brain struggle to write in proper English. I really liked that volume, and I can only hope it's gonna get even better in the future, keep in mind I simply gave my opinion hoping it can be somehow useful.
@PublicFrenemy it launched it farther into popularity, but Local 58, marble hornets, Gemini home entertainment are what branched this into a new Genre. You could say paranormal activity and the Blair witch project- but I feel like the series above branched into it’s own sub genre of analog horror.
It really scared before and yes actually lost its magic, but if haved the same thing before like to the start and to the final of the series, ir would be boring because we have already see this and you would not get chills from the same thing it really creeped you before
@heassik3088 I think him not looking like a cop is part of the idea. The police department was taking anyone they could get. Can you imagine how many officers have been killed by alternates over the years? How many officers have quit and fled? And who the hell would even want to ever work for the Mandela County Police with that kind of track record? Makes sense that they would hire someone who no other police department would have hired, they would have probably taken anyone who was willing. Thatcher was clearly too young and under-qualified for the position, which makes it even sadder.
@Thomas I’d argue that the obviously fake backgrounds mixed with real actors makes this uncanny valley. I kinda like it, although Dave is definitely a bit goofy.
Can we talk about the scene where Thatcher started crying because he was too scared to save Ruth? You gotta give props to the voice actor too like damn
17:00 This sequence scared me the most in this volume because it was so reminiscent of being awake with a feeling of dread you cant explain, staring into the dark of your room and SWEARING you see something in your closet and just staring at it, praying it doesn't move, freaking out a bit when your eyes start to fatigue from not blinking because then it kind of DOES move and then you *really* can't fuckin sleep. Absolutely mastetful. Alex, you're a fucking genius.
@plasma I also want to add that I'm a grown ass woman who is intelligent enough to admit that there are things that are beyond the understanding that current science possesses or can explain. Arthur C Clarke's quip on sufficiently advanced technology being indistinguishable from magic comes to mind here.
@plasma ever woken up to the sound of someone inside your house who definitely is not meant to be there? the whole "monster in the closet" fear isnt that unreasonable imo
That scene is literally the worst for me. I have similiar experience, albeit it's because i have stress and anxiety at that time, so I'm just hallucinating. But still the scariest moment of my life
Hey Alex you should do a colander with Kane Pixels! He mad backrooms found footage videos with a catalogue horror style, same with you. I think having an Alternate in the backrooms sounds fun, the way they imitate their victims.
The fact that the siren went off for the alternate that got into the station while the girl was there is some insane creativity to create horror. This volume in the series is by far the best.
Are others getting My Chemical Romance vibe from the “Thatcher scenes”? “I woke up today sad, and the sun is shining - but not on me… because Im sad…..” Still tho…. Gotta love a solid spook
It really scared before and yes actually lost its magic, but if haved the same thing before like to the start and to the final of the series, ir would be boring because we have already see this and you would not get chills from the same thing it really creeped you before, if i sayed it was a analog horror and now a generic analog horror, if you see, this series has give the born/rise to this genre, but i think evolve its better
I just realized something. It's minor, but still a cool detail. In his messenger, Adam has a contact named "Noah", which is naturally a biblical name, and he says he's gonna play Left 4 Dead 2. In that game there's a chapter titled "Come Hell and HIgh Water". Alex you magnificent bastard, you did it again.
@rebjr seriously? How are they NOT correlated. They're both about a FLOOD and BIBLICAL REFERENCES. At this point you're doing it on purpose, or you're indeed dumb.
@rebjr again, why do they have no correlation? Noah is part of a biblical episode involving a great flood. Left 4 Dead 2 has a chapter called "Come Hell and High Water" that ALSO involves a big flood. Are you just being willfully ignorant or did you not even bother thinking about this?
Wait is the Face Studio 2 thing a critique of the actual AI shenanigans? I mean, the distorted faces are quit common from those art-stealing algorithms
@Julian Think they mean it’s under the voice if you listen to it. Especially since earlier Dave was deadass led there by Paster O Brian so it would make sense he took his voice for it.
@Sia Walia I think this one was more about the characters history, about their life, about what are the are dealing with, I like the new idea of being more IRL than being just some simple images, Alex Kister made a good joob making this one
It really scared before and yes actually lost its magic, but if haved the same thing before like to the start and to the final of the series, ir would be boring because we have already see this and you would not get chills from the same thing it really creeped you before, if i sayed it was a analog horror and now a generic analog horror, if you see, this series has give the born/rise to this genre, but i think evolve its better even if its to the worst because itself the magic can lost its sparkle
@FuckinAntiPope I felt that way too! As someone who enjoys horror and isn't fazed by most of it anymore, watching the first 3 volumes gave me chills, especially since there wasn't a single jumpscare. However, I felt like this one was missing a lot of that uneasiness and suspense present in the previous catalogues, as if something is behind you, watching you from the darkness. This one just wasn't as exciting and creepy as the others.
i will never get over how intelligent the alternates truly are & the mere idea of them developing the face editing software themselves or somehow finding their way into utilizing it is genuinely _horrifying._ + and also!! gabriel is one hell of a villain and i absolutely adore him. it seems he’s won once again
face studio 2 wasn't the alternates' doing, it was developed by mandelatech, the company where dave worked and most likely took part in the creation of the software. gabriel said that dave "already done his bidding for him" implies that dave was talked into developing the software
@Jesse pinkman All of them seem interestint ngl. Tho since the Intruder/guy in the tv+ Gabriel/Satan are the most dangerous individuals, able to keep Jesus locked away, think they will probably need way more tbh. Saw a theory that someone (prolly one of the mc) will free Jesus.
@Jesse pinkman Yeah, tbh, climax ending 4 almost seems to be where the story may end up. Mandela County's been struggling with this scourge for 17 years. I'm certain the Alternates had plenty of time to spread like an infection to neighboring areas and into some positions of power since them. It's looking like they want to replace the human race.
Great im watching this at 1 26 am i do not have a door in my bedroom and im scared af i watched all of those videost and they are great i love it but im scared keep it up
I'll be honest. I thought I was de-sensitized to analogue horror but after volume 2 of this, I continuously feel chills down my spine, I got so scared by the ending part of volume 3 I had to actually skip ahead just to the end so I wouldn't have any nightmares, and even then, that face...that smile it's all burned into my eyes...Amazing job, man!
That bit at the end was fucking mind blowing. We not only know why Adam is so different from everyone else, but this is a major bombshell. Adam was an alternate, and he didn't even know it. How many other people were accidentally doing Gabriel's bidding? Was Murray an alternate? Hell, was Mark an alternate? This leads to so many questions, and we can now trust even less people in this series. Hats off to Alex Kister, he is a fucking master at work
@Ace ♤ Not really sure if the real Adam died tbh; especially since the Intruder noted after he stole him from the mother who hung herself (after he was stolen), he “hid him away”. Tho most def is probably dead tbh.
@Ace ♤ fuck it. This is the Schrödinger Adam theory: either Adam is an Alternate or not an Alternate. I'm on the 'Adam is a mule and not an Alternate' side
@Jayalen you’re not Alex Kister. We don’t know to what extent the alternates can do. Heck, who knows some new 'type' of them can perhaps age/ 'grow up'. Adam’s a sleeper agent. And I highly doubt Mark is one as well, real mark straight up died.
@Jayalen Nope. He’s definitely an alternate alright. It’s basically confirmed. Real adam supposedly died when he was a baby. Alt! Adam just forgot he wasn’t human, growing up.
fuckin respect to thorne he always loved Mandela catalogue and one of the main reasons it got popular (he made the game maple county that was based off mandela catalogue people like markiplier and jacksepticeye played causing it to be recognized) and now he plays thatcher davis fuckin respect.
if you didnt know the person who plays thatcher davis is thorne baker also known online as teenage disaster he makes music with spider gang with other popular members being afourteen and lil darkie he also develops indie games like the maple county game based off mandela catalogue
I love how grayscale is used in the series as shorthand for alternate dominion/presence. "Gabriel" and pretty much all alternates are always shown in grayscale. In "in the beginning", night is shown in grayscale. Often, when "Gabriel" appears in an animation, everything turns grayscale. This also happens in the trailer for Vol. 4, where color is slowly swept away by grayscale.
I'm torn on Gabriel's new voice. On one hand it makes sense for the lore as Alternates learn to replicate human speech more accurately, but on the other, there was something so primordially terrifying about the text-to-speech voice that shook me to my core.
Holy shit, Alex. I'm sorry to say this but this just feels like a really goofy parody of The Mandela Catalogue. Like, I'm sure you worked hard on this but it was so unbelievably cringy and goofy.
What if a group of Alternate Killer individuals formed? People who are already mentally insane and broken, or willingly broke themselves mentally to save the lives of others? Like creepy serial killers that are attempting to fight back these alternates. Can’t break something that’s already broken essentially
GABRIEL VINYL FIGURE ONLY AVAILABLE UNTIL DECEMBER 17TH !!!!!
www.makeship.com/products/gabriel-vinyl-figure
thank you guys for watching, hope you all enjoyed!! really poured my soul into this one :)
Yes. Also the Face cam reminded me of the creepy nintendo face camera game that would have distorted faces and captions like 'who are you running from?'. Its bringing back alot of nostalgic childhood horror from back in the day.
Nothing is worth the risk
@TwoFountain he uses cameras and action
@Samantha Wagner yeh
ok
The most unrealistic part of this entire series is where a police officer has facial piercings and an emo haircut
@Jorge Carrillo that's true actually
True, but if I'm being honest Teenage Disaster has been one of the greatest things in this ARG
Now i get it😭
Only in Detroit
but he's so fine ngl
For people who don't like "Gabriel's" new voice, that voice isn't theirs, it's that of the pastor who called dave. The tts voice is still there and most likely it is his real voice. After all, "Gabriel" is the first alternative.
okay but like honestly, the pastor's voice fits him pretty damn well lmao
He’s not just the first alternate, he’s Satan himself
I don’t really think that’s the case. They share a voice actor, but O’Brien was Gabriel in disguise anyway.
When Gabriel revealed himself he stopped pretending to be O’Brien, and you can even hear that he stops having a southern accent. I think that is his actual voice and that O’Brien’s voice was fabricated.
low-key I really like this Gabriel's voice ngl
Dang imma be honest I kinda wanted it to be his voice
I know this is supposed to be scary, but I was giggling the entire time Adam was like "dude it really sucks that Jonah's gone buuuuut i got this sick ass footage bro" and Sarah is just like "wtf bro" and then she hits him with the "this is why your girl left you" funny as hell
@PussMaster119 Bro? 🗿
She should have hitted him with a big ol' "that's why yo momma Dead"
@Danifirer Ke ase 💀
@TundraTheNumberblocc "thats why yo mama dead"
Bro got roasted
Dave’s death scene is the most unintentionally funny thing I’ve seen so far, the fact that he’s dead but he looks absolutely baller while laying there
@sorry,the cat has died TY LMAO THAT’S SO GOOD
@samislam at 35:01
time stamp?
Nah the dramatic fall is funny as heck💀
Fun fact: You can barely hear Gabriel's original/old voice if you listen closely
Crazy to me how many people are bragging about poor attention/reading comprehension down here
aint readin allat 🤣 but we 🆙️ 💯
blown away by you again man. always a moment for me when these come out
hi kwite you posted your ass o n twitter
Hello there
🐟
OUT OF ALL THE Clip-ShareRS I LIKE.I SEE YOU IN A COMMENT SECTION THAT I WOULDN'T EXPECT
Oh hi Kwiteee
37:54
"The flicker of the TV illuminated this bedroom.
* Personal opinion *
The " Mandela Catalogue " franchise, SCREAAAMS for a horror game, has literally all the perfect elements for a new horror experience.
I feel like people don’t appreciate the face studio 2 scene enough, it fits right in the uncanny valley and feels absolutely like something someone would make in the 2000’s the black and white screen, the robotic text to speech, the creepy animations, it just all feels so legit and oddly nostalgic
Really great stuff
The face studio thing reminded me of the chezzkids “investigation”
@Luke The Legend brightness issue
@Povota Knight with that part I literally couldn’t see it because of my brightness, so it just looked like an empty closet
@Pempot Foy closet scene
Its my favorite part.
@ComicalAmethyst Yeah, some of that just confused me.
there is evidence he isnt
@Da1_Potato I mean, that _is_ a good point.
I’m on the verge of tears and I don’t cry like ever. This series is everything I love and look for in a story. Angst. Humor. Fear. Lore. Thank you so much for creating this series. I can’t wait to see it grow.
The more I think about this, the more it seems like Adam is crazier than the alternates.
@PussMaster119 that’s because he’s most likely an alternate, but i do think that it would be infinitely more creepy if he wasn’t and that’s just how deranged he is
@PussMaster119 What no mama does to a guy.
I am literally watching this series for the scares. If he is trying to move away from horror, then why did he gather an audience that wants horror?
this vol reveals a new type of alternate. ill list them all because im bored
Type 1- Doppelgänger
Can fit perfectly into society. Almost no flaws
Type 2- Unspeakable
More notable flaws. Easier to recognize
Type 3- Overdriven Assimilation
Inhuman capacities. Recognizable due to being in their true form 99% of the time.
Type 4- Mimic
Shaped to be inanimate objects. Can be recognizable due to audible breathing.
Type 5- Tulpa
Can be seen through mirrors and TVs
Type 6- Sleepers
Kids who were kidnapped by 6 turned into alternates. None of them know they are.
@Horbiflorbin ikr
@Classical Cinno thats a shame, the idea of a seemingly inanimate object breathing is terrifying
Yes, but the type 4 was scrapped from the project or something
Edit: A grammar mistake
23:36 "a special announcement regarding jonah marshall" then "remember to rate 5 stars and subscribe" absolutely killed me lmao
Same bro
@Suds And Stuff LMAO
@red Hmm, then I'm not sure.
@SuperFlashDriver nah there was something else in that comment
I had no idea it was based on youtube lmao
I like how when Sarah calls Adam, the intruder just ends the call and leaves.
I mean what was he gonna do, manipulate?
Well yeah if she wants to be rude Stanley doesn't have to sit there and take it
intruder sitting there like : 👁👄👁
“Oh sorry I’ll leave you 2 alone”
These Mandela Catalogue videos keep getting better and better! And more lengthier as well! Love the use of actors and green screen backgrounds, the dark atmosphere definitely gives off the vibes of a hopeless world!
Can’t wait to see what’s in store in the next episode!
this was so good but I wish it was like the first volume…but I loved this and can’t wait for vol 5!!
I Love Mandela But It Kinda Feels To Me That While Budget Has Increased, Production Quality And Effort Put In Went Down A Slight Bit And It's Noticeable Though I Still Love It.
The portrayal of this Dave guy is so hilarious that I honestly expected there to be a second pair of sunglasses under the one he took off
@Nia 17:40
Can you tell me the minute? I don't remember where it was and don't wanna see all the video again lol
You. Don't. Belong. Here.
@1337ik_ DUDE I THOUGHT THE EXACT SAME THING
@Ninjajack64 I was thinking that the whole video, kinda ruined it for me
I absolutely LOVE how if you listen close enough when Gabriel is speaking, you can still hear the og TTS voice, please never change Gabriel's tts voice it's perfect for him 🙌
I don’t know how to feel about this part, I absolutely loved the first 3 volumes, maybe I’m just more into the analogue videos but then I really liked the voice acting in volume 2 and 3, where this I felt it was a bit wooden, also I know people have said this in the comments but I’m not a big fan of Gabriel’s voice.
This episode was absolutely phenomenal. The production quality is stunning, and the story is very well put together. Bravo
25:12 Exposure to verbal information that is not desired to be known.
27:25 Biologically impossible characteristics.
28:03 "A thriving society of followers of the true savior. A mess of tangled limbs danced around my bedroom. I held my breath, and waited for it to stop. I was too scared to- (I am unable to make it out, voices begin overlapping) I am the-----why you evade the truth-uth-uth-uth-uth"
37:54 "The flicker of the TV illuminated his bedroom.
The fact that Adam thought it was a normal thing to be like oh yeah Jonah died but I got some killer footage though is so funny to me
guy gots nihilism
I know that I just found it funny
"didn't think it would be a big deal" 🤡🤡
that's because it was an alternate
I love this series, great story telling and genuinely creepy! Keep it up! :)
Its great of how this series is so well executed its sad that the next mandela might be the last i was glad to stick to this series
@II Wolfs II 🤷♂️
@the upper room so if adam does find out he is an alternate then what would he do would he continue to live like a human or not if he already has feelings and connection with people
@Douglas Taylor don't listen to MattPatt, he's wrong constantly
So is the intruder a bad guy or not ? The film theorist mat pat got me all messed up
That ending is so fucking badass. The voice and background atmosphere are insane
It seems like there are two different kinds of evil in this series
One of which is Gabriel which believes in "if there are more of me out there, then there are less control of mankind"
The other is 6 aka stranger aka Stanley, who has stolen a child and brought "something" back. (It could be the 'real' or fake Adam that we are speaking to.) It could also imply that Adams alternate never left and basically casted a shadow onto Adam and he can't sleep at all because it's been constantly haunting him both consciously and subconsciously, not even knowing what is real or not, and just having random moments of peace (somehow knowing where the car was and walked for miles, not even knowing where Jonah is.)
The thing I love the most about this volume is the stranger being "summoned" like a demon to Adam and telling him false truths and Adam himself has to figure out what he is saying is real or what is fake.
Loved this, but the hooded intruder was the part I was waiting for, like I love him (not romantically I think)
A good episode but I want more scary things like the old volumes
Now to wait for wendigoon to make a video explaining all the amazing details I missed lol
This vid was great! More amazing cgi work, and alotnof creepy ideas!
that is just a masterpiece. dont stop griding up your very very talented and thanks for that 4rth volume.
the part where the alternate went behind dave and started laughing, that was honestly a bit cringe, with dave also shivering weirdly. also the part with the emo guy was a bit weird, but other than that it was all great
The "emo guy" is thatcher, and the "alternate" that went behind Dave was the Devil.
"A scared boy with a gun. Sound familiar."
That is an absolute heart sinking moment
@Meme_Lurker damn that's crazy
The wiggle arms made me gafaw with laughter, they either didn’t try or tried to hard. There are no heart sink moments anymore, all the backgrounds look unrealistic asf, we didn’t need everything to be show in this way
It's not.
Does Alex speak the sound familiar part idk who’s voice that is
@Carlitos Jr that was mark's house so I mean
Not 100% sure how i feel about the new more live action segments but I still love this so much.
Dude 3 and 4 have taken a completely different turn from how the quality of Vol 1 and Vol 2 turned out
I really liked your video of volume 4 and the characters I liked before are the alternate ones, they had the ability to transform into people and also the voice that changed differently person that deceives them to attract them and then kill them but If you start to include people in person you have to do it very well so that it doesn't look too boring or also action and scare when volume 5 comes out it has to be better, some betrayal and scare It would just be that and goodbye 👋
I somewhat noticed this after TV Tropes pointed this out, but if you listen very closely to Gabriel's speech, you can just barely hear his text to speech whisper below his actual voice.
Mark my words, one day this is gonna get an official release
I am ready for the Mandela Catalogue Volume 5!!!!
16:40 my dude?!? Why is no one talking about how fucking terrifying this was! Gave me nightmares holy shit
Watched this on a plane. Guy next to me thought I was crazy😂 damn this was good
Sadly this is probably the least frightening video in the series.
@Henry the Anglerfish
Face Studio 2 was the only thing remotely scary.
EXACTLY
Thatcher's rant about Ruth is better than any moment in these series so far
@itrashcant same as you, i agree with you, this guys argue over this
I agree. It’s ok if it’s not as scary as the other volumes, but it didn’t feel scary enough because some of the live-action scenes broke the immersion. I still love this series though.
These keep getting better with each volume.
And I'm not sure I'm happy about that...
"If no one's there to call you crazy, would you ever find out?"
~Thatcher
This just feels not like VHS horror but a self-sufficent horror movie
This series has gone from "haha funny sus face" to more unsettling and scary than most horror films I've seen.
@PublicFrenemy it launched it farther into popularity, but Local 58, marble hornets, Gemini home entertainment are what branched this into a new Genre.
You could say paranormal activity and the Blair witch project- but I feel like the series above branched into it’s own sub genre of analog horror.
@PublicFrenemy no it didn't lmao what in the actual fuck dude
They use irl acting and I’m just beyond surprised how well it went
Honestly, text to speech Gabriel scared me more
Bro this guy should make a paranormal series
hot take: the falsified gabriel sounded scarier with the TTS
I cannot fathom how someone thought it was a good idea to give him that voice it sounds so bad
Can we talk about the scene where Thatcher started crying because he was too scared to save Ruth? You gotta give props to the voice actor too like damn
@soundwavethechristian4060 Somehow I get the feeling you aren't exactly the highest authority on voice acting ability.
He makes really good music under the name teenage disaster, you should check him out
@Soundwave The Christian If you think that was one of the worst performances you haven't seen a lot of them
sad-tcher davis
You mean one of the worst voice acting performances ever? Yeah.. Surez
I fucking love Adam as a character
17:00
This sequence scared me the most in this volume because it was so reminiscent of being awake with a feeling of dread you cant explain, staring into the dark of your room and SWEARING you see something in your closet and just staring at it, praying it doesn't move, freaking out a bit when your eyes start to fatigue from not blinking because then it kind of DOES move and then you *really* can't fuckin sleep.
@Yazmin Lares particularly when there are plenty of monstrous humans. Monsters absolutely exist, you walk by them every day.
@plasma fear isn’t linked only to children, adults fear childish things too…
That scene is literally the worst for me.
38:06 dont never buy no weed from the gas station bro
The fact that the siren went off for the alternate that got into the station while the girl was there is some insane creativity to create horror. This volume in the series is by far the best.
@JCAGTMDFR the girl
@Leemillion the girl or the alternate?
@nuclear stuff 35:17
When
Where
Are others getting My Chemical Romance vibe from the “Thatcher scenes”?
“I woke up today sad, and the sun is shining - but not on me… because Im sad…..”
Still tho…. Gotta love a solid spook
16:41
Guys, I think this alternate is trying to impersonate Ruth Weaver to taunt Thatcher about her death. That looks like Ruth, epsecially at 16:59
Here after watching Jacksepticeye's video on this. Just wanted to say that this is AWESOME! 🖤
“no wonder why evelin left you”
“no wonder why your brother killed himself”
that's foul 💀💀💀💀
Me, personally? I would NOT let that slide. /Ref
Now me personally…
💀
Hey he deserved that. He was being an absolute douchebag toward her and was just heartless about Jonah.
The absolute dread I'm feeling knowing that there are live action scenes in this volume is getting me hyped to see where the series goes from here
It really scared before and yes actually lost its magic, but if haved the same thing before like to the start and to the final of the series, ir would be boring because we have already see this and you would not get chills from the same thing it really creeped you before, if i sayed it was a analog horror and now a generic analog horror, if you see, this series has give the born/rise to this genre, but i think evolve its better
@DigitalDibbuk there are like... two more volumes
@guy would be pretty shit considering puppet combo games are cheapo "loud = scary" garbage
Not scary smh
Imagine a Puppet Combo Mandela Catalogue game-
the whole vid i had chills run down my whole body
I just realized something. It's minor, but still a cool detail.
In his messenger, Adam has a contact named "Noah", which is naturally a biblical name, and he says he's gonna play Left 4 Dead 2.
In that game there's a chapter titled "Come Hell and HIgh Water".
Alex you magnificent bastard, you did it again.
@rebjr seriously? How are they NOT correlated. They're both about a FLOOD and BIBLICAL REFERENCES. At this point you're doing it on purpose, or you're indeed dumb.
@Flamia Minu why u say again like im stupid💀 bro how would they have any correlation u didn't even say how they do in ur comment
@Flamia Minu cuz u connected 2 random ass things that have no correlation then said he was a genius
@rebjr I'd like to know why you think I am.
10:31 how did you manage to create a “messaging platform from early 2000s” styled scene like this? This episode was insanely impressive.
Wait is the Face Studio 2 thing a critique of the actual AI shenanigans? I mean, the distorted faces are quit common from those art-stealing algorithms
I’m gonna miss Gabriel’s text to speech voice. It’s sounded so inhuman and it rly did fit well
@Thomas Seen some people say it’s like a fake voice and the text speech one is there if you listen closely
Its not the fact that he has a human voice now that is the problem, it's the goofy voice itself that is the problem
@Julian Think they mean it’s under the voice if you listen to it. Especially since earlier Dave was deadass led there by Paster O Brian so it would make sense he took his voice for it.
yeah that traumatized me fr
@CooperDaBooper *" hey Dave Lee , look at this image ! Let's play spot the difference . "*
私はほんの数日前にこのシリーズを好きになりました
これからも楽しみにしています
question if Adam(the first man) got replaced with an alternate does that mean eve mated with an alternate meaning human are descendants of alternates
Why was Dave dying so goofy 💀💀💀
@Soundwave The Christian no
@Sia Walia I think this one was more about the characters history, about their life, about what are the are dealing with, I like the new idea of being more IRL than being just some simple images, Alex Kister made a good joob making this one
Bro really said 😎
It really scared before and yes actually lost its magic, but if haved the same thing before like to the start and to the final of the series, ir would be boring because we have already see this and you would not get chills from the same thing it really creeped you before, if i sayed it was a analog horror and now a generic analog horror, if you see, this series has give the born/rise to this genre, but i think evolve its better even if its to the worst because itself the magic can lost its sparkle
Holy shit this thing keep getting better good work man
i will never get over how intelligent the alternates truly are & the mere idea of them developing the face editing software themselves or somehow finding their way into utilizing it is genuinely _horrifying._
+ and also!! gabriel is one hell of a villain and i absolutely adore him.
it seems he’s won once again
face studio 2 wasn't the alternates' doing, it was developed by mandelatech, the company where dave worked and most likely took part in the creation of the software. gabriel said that dave "already done his bidding for him" implies that dave was talked into developing the software
Just like Walter White.
Sigh.. Another stan.
17:00 absolutely fucking terrifying. Wonderful! I jumped!
Great im watching this at 1 26 am i do not have a door in my bedroom and im scared af i watched all of those videost and they are great i love it but im scared keep it up
I'm sick and i'm watching Mandela catalogue to scare my virus away
It's okay.
Dave lee is going to be an alternate like Cesar Torres or the others.
So we will still get the chance to see him.
17:05 Sir, we've been trying to reach you to tell that your car warranty has been extended
What's up with the Heathcliff family getting continuously traumatized
I'll be honest. I thought I was de-sensitized to analogue horror but after volume 2 of this, I continuously feel chills down my spine, I got so scared by the ending part of volume 3 I had to actually skip ahead just to the end so I wouldn't have any nightmares, and even then, that face...that smile it's all burned into my eyes...Amazing job, man!
yep, mandela never disappoints
This story just keeps getting bigger, man.
@Joe Mama lmao💀
plmds algum br tem que traduzir essa série, o único canal que traduzia parou
Gabriel: "No Dave, it's society, society is the problem"
fuckin respect to thorne he always loved Mandela catalogue and one of the main reasons it got popular (he made the game maple county that was based off mandela catalogue people like markiplier and jacksepticeye played causing it to be recognized) and now he plays thatcher davis fuckin respect.
if you didnt know the person who plays thatcher davis is thorne baker also known online as teenage disaster he makes music with spider gang with other popular members being afourteen and lil darkie he also develops indie games like the maple county game based off mandela catalogue
@Святослав Репнов Just like how Lucifer Seduced your mother
He sounds too much like Mark Hamill’s Joker
i like to think both of them are his voice
I personally love his new voice because it sounds like somebody who is deceiveful
@dominick Howard time to slur***
Holy shit, Alex. I'm sorry to say this but this just feels like a really goofy parody of The Mandela Catalogue. Like, I'm sure you worked hard on this but it was so unbelievably cringy and goofy.
15:57 "If nobody's there to call you crazy" "would you ever find out?"
No
i love it !!!!!!! KEEP THE WORK UP! (ITS SRAČKA)
i need more cause i'll chuck anything at my window.
sarah really hit adam with the "no wonder evelin left you"
@Thatwatermelon unlikely. Adam just basically died, and he turned into Adam already thinking he was Adam? nah.
@Anônimo Wuz Film theory explains its possible he doesn't know hes a alternate
@Oilybat dead as hell
That’s why yo momma dead
DEADASS
What if a group of Alternate Killer individuals formed? People who are already mentally insane and broken, or willingly broke themselves mentally to save the lives of others? Like creepy serial killers that are attempting to fight back these alternates. Can’t break something that’s already broken essentially
