The only song they sang here that was on that 1981 album in "Cool." "777-9311" was from their "What Time Is It?" album in 1982, and "Jungle Love" and "The Bird" were from their "Ice Cream Castles" album in 1984.
I am white and grew up in the Motown era and every white person I knew loved Motown. Charlie Pride was the first black person to be a country music star and now we have Darius Rucker, who is a member of the Grand Ol’ Opry.
Ethnicity has nothing to do with music taste.

I’ve seen him live twice. I think he’s retiring soon so, if you see find out about any shows, try to go see Morris perform.
Dats why they need to bring Soul Train back. Cause the kids today don't dance anymore cause they got nothing to imulate. If U don't see nobody dancing U won't dance. Rap got these youngsters thinking if U singing you ah punk & U soft. Dats why U don't have many polished acts.

Don't sleep on the young ones in the crowd because I saw many of them singing the songs. Many of them know more old school than you think thanks to Utube, their parents or grandparents.....Shout out to Morris Day and The Time. What time is it!! ....Rest in peace to Prince❤❤

I remember getting to see this group live at Essence Festival in the early 2000’s along with Prince. It was the best performance ever and I will never forget it. Am glad to see they still got it !

Brings back memories of my mom taking me to see Purple Rain as a kid and I fell in love with Prince music and loved he let his R&B flag fly thru Morris and The Time. It made me become a musician and start producing.This is peak music for me and it’ll never get old.

True i like to see the real time band all the first members all get in that movie purple rain as i watched it over great flick glad it was done at that time Prince showed the whole world how good he really was as he had all the actors in place and some funny stuff as well a part i liked was morris and Jerome was coming on the stage to perform they were about to walk up the steps ran into Prince and Morris said stick around let me show you how its done Jerome was helpping Prince close his jacket that Prince had on as to say leave i was like dam thats classic funny as hell

When Prince and Morris created the Minneapolis sound in the 80's and maybe in the late 70's. They created some of the best timeless great R&B music which will live on forever.
I'm so glad the Prince 💜 family allowed Morris day to use the Time again 🙌 keep in mind. Prince wrote,produced, arranged and performed All the instruments on the first two THE TIME albums

@vemvem23 Yes that is Jerome looking great. I believe he has performed with the band most of the time they've been in existence. He's Terry Lewis' 1/2 brother and used to be prince's roommate early in their careers.

This awards show was really rewarding to watch. It honored people that truly deserved it. And I'm glad they received their flowers while still here. Every song that Chante, Morris Day and Xscape sung took me back to that time when music was music and people just enjoyed the music and had a good time. And best of all, they all sounded GOOD.

He has a song out called, "Renaissance" and Dr. Fink has a keyboard solo on it👍🏿😊). I do wish the original folks would get back together and do another album. It's been 11 years since "Condensate".
