@Big Smoke ive been in solitary confinement, there would be times when u dont want to eat anything bc u stuck in ur own mind so u have to force feed every now an then, everything he’s experiencing is what will happen even keeping a routine
it's really interesting to see how much control AJ needs to have. I know i would thrive in this type of environment. not having to worry about anything and I'm used to living in small spaces/ being in my room away from roomates etc. It's cool to see how different people react in a situation like this

The torture comes from the idea that there is no escape for people who are actually put in that scenario which causes the brain to start believing that it's over. What helped AJ push through was the ability to escape and the knowledge that the only thing keeping him there was himself. Respect tho cause it takes a level of mental strength not many have.

Its crazy that even though only 48 hours can be considered detrimental, people like Albert Woodfox have been kept almost continuously in a tiny cell for nearly 43 years by authorities. Imagine what that could do, or has done to those people.

I started this thinking it would be decently easy, but after seeing AJ for even 30 minutes it hit me how insane the idea of this is

I've been in prison for the past 14 years. Been in solitary for the first 32 months of this sentence I'm serving. Unfortunately it effects some people in a horrible way. People develope all types of psychological disorders. Stay out of trouble... Stay safe
@MrTestobomb fortunately I've been utilizing my time wisely. I came in at 25yrs old and now at 40, I've accomplished more than people would imagine. Of course I hit some snags and bumps on this road but tbh this place has effected my mind and heart immensely. Unfortunately I'm numb to violence and Gore because it's a constant cycle in my chaotic environment. I've been in the middle of riots, stabbings and I've defused plenty of situations that could've became fatal. I've looked into people's eyes and literally watched the light leave their bodies before they die from a stabbing or an altercation. If you reading this and u think u thuggin or gang banging.... Just stop and renew your mind. This place plays serious tricks on ya mind. Stay blessed everyone.
32 months is rough! I did “only” 30 days in solitary and i totally agree with your statement! First few days were kinda easy since it takes a while to acknowledge where you really are, then it hits like running against a brick wall and that’s when the mind starts playing games. Hope you’ll find your way and that you’ll never be back in the future, it is possible! Take care and all the best.
