This is a good explanation of what a "Red herring" is. The round parts that make you believe they are where the circle goes but have actually nothing to do with the solution? Red herring.
The round parts still have everything to do with solving it. Just not the straight forward way.
The solution is literally “the circle goes into the square hole.” You have successfully triggered me.

Genuinely, I'd have just got stuck cos I thought the point was to make a circle in the green pieces... Even if I had stumbled upon the square, i would have thought that was incorrect

An interesting video would be about HOW these puzzles are made and designed.
Lol when I was a child I was tested by a similar type of test. The testers told me to take a shape and put it where it fits. There was a square, circle, triangle, rectangular, half circle. The square was the biggest hole so I fit them all in the square hole. They asked me why I did it that way and I said "You said put it where it fits not to which shape it belongs"

@INFECTED YT all other words are easy words, plot twist isn't a word you learn at school. At least not for me non english speaker..
And ironically there is no direct translation for plot twist in my language..
So it's not dumb when people don't understand your language, it's dumb when you think foreign people know your language as you do.

You will never find the solution by rearranging the pieces… then he rearranged the parts to solve it

This is about adaptability. Just because a path to a solution seems obvious you must be able to recognize when the path is the problem & not the solution that's convenient or seems responsible.

I love this puzzle. I have a really nice wooden version that can be covered with a plexiglass so the puzzle can stand upright. My cousin have a 3D printed version created by himself

This is not the "Red circle puzzle" this is a "jigsaw puzzle" xD
I would accept this solution a lot better if the red circle was a pizza, and the puzzle was called Pizza Delivery. At least then, the solution connects to something related to the puzzle. In this case, a round pizza in a square box.
I like your solution better. Not going to lie, I thought the puzzle's solution was a bit unsatisfying.

This is a puzzle for "think out of the box people" :)
The cool thing about puzzles like this is the fact that there’s more than one way to win a puzzle which makes things a tad bit more interesting because some will choose the obvious path and others will actually think it through
@Santosh Dabra We appreciate the support but it’s just more so a teaching moment some people will take the lesson and others will not I mean look at the like count I just spent a little bit of extra time trying to convince others and help them understand if it didn’t work then oh well but it’s not going to stop me from trying👍
