It is always a pleasure to see the USMC recruits marching. So much focus on drills, their discipline. You see other branches and many of them are marching at differnt steps.

You should be proud. He will do good things. I’m glad we still have young men like him that sign up.

Just a little reminder,,,it's not a class, it's a series. At least that's what it was called back when I graduated.

I feel kinda stupid to ask this but do Marines get deployed in war times? I mean I knew what they did in Operation Iraqi Freedom but do they get deployed in an all out war? Like let's say Russia, China Vs NATO?

    • the real irs
the real irs 4 months ago

yeah they would be, and probably in the front lines, one things that the marine corp says that they're first to fight, so they would probably be there before anyone else.

    • SSG US
SSG US 4 months ago +5

Yes, they would. They would not be there first as there are plenty of Army units already in Europe.
That said, Marine units would be among the first reinforcements.

@SSG US Thanks for replying I'm joining the Marine Corp in 8 years(I'm European but moving to the US when I'm 18 when I finish High school)

No one would be stupid enough to declare war on a NATO country. That's why most countries try to prove any country in NATO like the US because if the NATO country starts the war then the others are no obligated to help.

Not a stupid question. Think of the Marines as the Navy’s army. We also fight on land, sea and air. We’re highly mobile so we can deploy quickly off navy ships or forward bases. We would be right on the frontline alongside the army but maybe tasked with difficult tasks such as clearing a fortified town etc.

This video was taken during the final weeks of training, Marine weeks. The drill instructors take off their belts for those two weeks.

    • Gotti Gzz24
      Gotti Gzz24 3 months ago

The last two weeks of bootcamp isn’t recruit training so they keep their duty belts off after the crucible

    • dennis platte
      dennis platte 2 months ago

@Gotti Gzz24 I think in the Marines you train hard right up to the last day. I just get progressively harder and harder. We dropped our Platoon Guide with just a week to go.

And no duty belts on top of it all. I don't care if it's the last 2 weeks those Drill Instructors are still on duty and should be wearing their duty belts.
