I bought a used 360 Slim back in 2013, and somehow it's still running as well as ever as my main/only console! I'm way too emotionally invested now to replace it or upgrade; helps that I'm a creature of habit, and rarely venture outside of my three go-to game franchises. The day it finally goes to Console Valhalla is going to be a sad day...

Sony’s dominance in the gaming industry was something of a masterstroke in how they studied the competition and created a brand that is so iconic nowadays. I’ve never owned an Xbox, I’ve always been a PlayStation and Nintendo kinda guy, but when I remember playing Halo on my friend’s Xbox 360 and Xbox One, I’m honestly intrigued by what Microsoft has been able to accomplish with the Xbox brand. They had the capital backing to make risks of course, but the level of creativity shown off across the generation here is so incredibly cool to see. Even if Xbox doesn’t have the killer AAA IPs that we know from PlayStation (both first and third party releases), you can see how people can resonate with Xbox as a brand, but also as their personal choice for gaming with friends, and I think the latter is what people remember most, the idea of coming home to play with your best mates at school, work, etc.

What killer games ps released exclusive on ps4/ps5 after GOW 2018 none god of war rangnrok , horizon 2 demon souls ... etc copy paste of same shit before 2018 even sony lost it touch last 4 years gaming is dead these days only very less games and im not a nintendo fan

    • One Of Zero
One Of Zero 2 months ago +3

@GFE Returnal was a good game. Ratchet and Clank was very good and fun as well, so was the Astro Robot included game although not many hours long. Another game i loved was Kena the Bridge of Spirits. Other than that as you said it the usual suspects like Spiderman, God of War and Horizon.
Gran Turismo 7 is top notch at what it does and is now becoming a full killer app with PSVR2.
There was also the Last of US 2 that was after 2018 i believe but i don't know if it's considered a great game or not.
Although i don't know how you can say "same shit" exactly when Horizon, Spider Man are basically the second title and the other not even that.

On the graphic depicting the difference in power between consoles, when Arun was on the graphic of progress on the Xbox One X, the icon for the original Xbox was actually that of a PS 2 and not the Xbox.

One of the things I love more about the Xbox Series S/X is the Quick Resume feature which allows you to switch between a set of games without closing them, so the next time you open them, you're in the same spot as were you left the game. It makes gaming on the Xbox more seamless imo. That and the initial setup for it can be made exclusively on your phone so you can get everything done more quickly.

There was a very good reason for the 360 to have a media remote. Windows Media Centre edition.
I had 4 x 360s and a PC with two dual tuners so instead of needing TV Antenna cables run through the house I would watch TV channels through the 360s while also recording TV from all of the units on the PC and streaming downloaded media from the same PC.
The 360s were a lot cheaper than any comparable set top boxes which could do this.

I remember back in 2014 when I was first introduced to the Xbox One by new next-door neighbors. They introduced me to Forza Horizon 2 and Battlefield 1. I remember being blown away by the amazing graphics of FH2 and I immediately fell in love with it. I asked my mom if I could get the console and FH2, and I got them both for Christmas after I paid for half of the price. I still love the Xbox One and I still play it to this day. Xbox player for life!

thats the old blades dashboard on the 360. if im not mistaken, pretty sure its rather rare to get your hands on one that still has that dashboard. Like rare enough that people look specifically for xbox's with the blades dashboard. They updated the dashoard in 08/09, so its insanely hard to find one with blades on it still.

Love Xbox controllers. I've had like a dozen PS3 controllers over the years, my original 1st gen 360 controllers still work just fine.
I prefer the bulkiness too, it's way more comfortable for adult hands.

The way they squandered the Halo franchise is heartbreaking. I remember playing the first Halo and thinking how insanely bleeding edge the game was.

I enjoy your videos although I lack the monetary power to use the gadgets you post, I have a ps3 currently. Sold the Xbox 360 coz of its power surge problems. I just hope one day I also own the consoles that's been released after them. Kudos to you 🖒

You forgot the mention that the Series S can run a lot of games at 1440p too! I can play a surprising amount of games at 1440p 120fps (or some number around that) with no problem.
It really is still good for gaming; but I definitely thought of it being an entertainment machine when I got it too.
Damn, Microsoft really needs to step into the handheld market!

    • ZC23
      ZC23 3 months ago

@Pommy192 Lucky? I don’t know. I’ve seen it in action in DOOM and it looks good. I maybe should’ve mentioned that it actually has an “optimized” FPS type of thing in most games, and only provides a full boost in some games, but when I physically display the framerate in game it says 120fps, some number around that area, or some number higher than 60fps.
There’s still a noticeable boost either way, and you’re not gonna notice it not being exactly 120fps in game unless you really pay attention.
My point is that it still provides a significant framerate boost

    • ZC23
      ZC23 3 months ago +1

@MrBirchieBirch Yeah, I’ve heard good things about it’s emulation capabilities. I usually just use my PC for that but I could absolutely see how someone without a PC could get some good emulation out of it!

The newest xbox 360 UI is incredible. I recently logged back into my old xbox 360 and was in awe about how new it still feels almost 20 years later. One thing xbox does VERY well at is making everything look incredible.
Maybe I'm just weird but there's something so beautiful about the new Xbox controllers. They are so perfect I love it so much.
Not just that, I've been using the same xbox one from 2015 and it still works very well. I still don't see a reason to upgrade.
    Damn xbox I love y'all

I used the original xbox for about 15 years and I always loved it. My father (who got the console) thought that there was no point in replacing something that already worked. It eventually started having problems and we upgraded, but I still miss the old one. It was always such a joy to play with my brother.

As someone who has always had Playstation growing up, I can say that I'm crazy excited that Xbox has finally caught up to PS with current gen(as they're basically identical in performance now) The future of consoles will improve much more when these two giants compete to create the better console for us gamers. Awesome video btw!

    • N00RDAHL
      N00RDAHL 3 months ago

@Manxzy I'm aware the Xbox is more powerful on paper, but it's not the same as how it actually performs. Apart from Xbox having Quick Resume & 1Tb storage and the PS having a faster SSD, they're graphically the same and also runs the exact same. There is no noticeable difference when you actually compare them practically and that's great. It all comes down to what games you want to play and that's how it should be:)

    • exgeeinteractive
      exgeeinteractive 2 months ago +1

Apart from the base PS4, Xboxes were actually more powerful and more efficient to work with. And that power difference was short lived after the One Series X was released. We can yak all we want about PS3's cell processor but that didn't actually translate in better performance, the system was hell to work with.
Playstation's dominance is all about GAMES, GAMES, GAMES, while having a capable and strong hardware.

  • Apache the attack helicopter

The only thing I don’t like about the series x is it’s size, it’s pretty big so it’s kinda hard to find a good place to put it

I think the original Xbox has my favourite UI of any console ever. It is so incredibly committed to feeling like this piece of alien tech with its startup animation of some unknown green substance in a test tube, to the all-green menu elements, even down to the ambient noises in the main menu which sound like the console is intercepting unintelligible signals from an unknown source. It is the most aggressively early-2000's console UI ever, and I absolutely love it for that.

I played all generations of Xbox until the Xbox one. The home interface was a mess and I never felt like I was there to game, pushing thru constant ads and media players just to get to my friends list or game library. I ended up switching to a PS4 and they were the clear winner of that generation of game consoles, everything was easy to access with no ads.

I wouldn't say Halo was only important to Microsoft, in my opinion it was probably the most important FPS game to release period. It's the game that modernized video game controls the way they are today. (If I'm wrong please correct me, as far as I'm aware Halo was what modernized controls)

Xbox with their achievments has truly achieved (no pun intended) THE best system by far to encourage players to get the best out of their games. I own both consoles, but for some reason xbox's achievment system got me way more hooked than sony's which is why i buy every multi-platform game for xbox. Not to mention the controller. Damn you sony for still not giving us shifted analog sticks.

I'm not sure if I missed it but I have the Xbox Series X and the controller vibrates and reacts to the game movements. I think it depends on the game though because no all the time it works. If you play Forza Horizon 5 its SOO cool because when your driving in the game the controller vibrates and shakes so it ads to the experience and makes it feel like your actually driving the car. I just wanted to add that. :) 🤩👏

I was just thinking about this a week ago. How Xbox started to lose it's identity and coolness after the 360 when they decided to tone everything down. Make everything square and similar to the Windows UI. Playstation has done the opposite with the ps5. I feel like now would be a good time for less square UI's to make a comeback. Everything has become too sterile and uniform. People would see it as a defiance to the system. If any devs are reading this.
