The thing I love about those old jcbs and infact the new ones is that they are so easy and simple to drive, yet they’re up there with the most advanced tractors of their times. Think about it, that 185 was developed in the late 90s early 2000s and it is I believe the only production tractor to ever go at 70 mph. Amazing

Although speed has been increased through wheel size on that one in the clip ,old school Fastracs like the 185 were built using manual Eaton truck gearbox have near zero power loss through transmission on the road . People who have only driven newer Vario type gearbox Fastracs don't realize the difference until they drive an older one . The 185 was also a game changer as it was the first model to have a Cummins engine fitted -a legendary well proven engine in trucks, also known as the million mile engine for its reliability ,not to mention its ability to be tweaked for more power. It was Introduced a year later in about 1994 to the yellow bonnet range. All the others at the time used the lower powered Perkins engines including the 155 which was the most powerful at the time until the 185 came along . It ultimately paved the way for its Cummins powered successors in the 3000 series (apart from the 3155 Perkins)for nearly 20 years after its launch .

My dad had one of the very first Fastracs with the electric windows and fridge in the roof. When the tyres were shot it was cheaper to buy bigger rims and tyres than just the correct tyres and it did 60mph+. Fastest silage cart tractor I've ever driven that's for sure.

I remember in the early 90's when I drove a wagon coming up behind fastrac 🚜(never seen one before) at a roundabout near Shrewsbury and thinking .oh great stuck behind a bloody tractor and then totally shocked as it pulled away and left me standing lol although I was fully loaded, well that was my excuse 🤣

My friend had a 155, 1135 and a3220 we had the 1135 of him. I love that tractor. It's a great little tractor. Of the day they were phenomenal ☺️

Had a good day here with two hen houses empty we were finished packing by 12.30 all cattle feed and hen walks done by 2.30 so a nice relaxing dinner with no afternoon work but being an ex dairy farmer thinking of all the men and women who after eating to much turkey have to go and milk so a shout out to all who have to work today in what ever job they do even Clip-Share stars thanks wil

Just seen on your video with the police tractor, that the big case you have was originally registered on the Isle of wight being a DL prefix. It would of been sold by SCATS in Newport.

Nice to have day off from driving my truck..problem with trucks is that most of us are restricted to 56mph when the speed limit for us is 60mph my truck is worse I’m restricted to 53mph but try to be considerate as I can..

I wonder if the mph gauge/read out was in need of ree calibrated with change off wheels etc and age i drove one off the first ones out and the last to number on bonnet was the speed like 155-85 etc
Had one do 58-60 mph but not 70
I have a NH 8160 does 65 kph but it only does 40 as electronic dash keeps needing ree calibrating tyre wear and low air preshure can send em far out
But if it did 70 well done

There's nothing on back of fastrac. No wonder it pulls well. I worked on a farm that had 155 fastracs of that era and they were gutless pulling 18t trailers.
3185s that replaced them much better.
