  • Hello everyone it's been a while but I'm back making a video and I got a Kemper Stage so just thought I'd do a video explaining what profiles I got and how I use them. Hope to be putting more out.
Profiles I'm using are from Micheal Britt (mbritt) and ToneJunkie.

Great rig I use to have the Power Rack that i liked but some how felt it was kinda adding this strange " Kemper" mid range feel i couldnt get out ....i did my own profiles of my 5150 III that i loved but as soon as I started to A/B amp vs the profiles it was obvious it never felt 100% but very close never the same tho you really had to play the guitar to feel it lol if that makes sense ....great vid

Thank you. You're gonna love it! Some great stock profiles in there but if you can pick up some paid for ones. Remember the Kemper is only as good as the profiles you use.

@Mark Pritchard are you happy with the axe 8? after owning numerous fractals I keep coming back to kemper, I find the Kemper tones the best by far

Thanks man. I'm honestly not sure off the top of my head. I think it'll probably be the single delay.

You really just need to find the right profiles. It's just as simple as that. The profiles I'm currently using live, I've hardly had to touch anything. Maybe SLIGHT adjustments in the EQ but very very little. Another tip I would give you is test and adjust your profiles at GIG VOLUME! It's one thing getting good sounds in the house but completely different once you're going through a very loud PA system. Try and come out front ( I use a wireless system to do this ) and listen to how it sounds coming through the PA and specifically...in the mix of the band and see what adjustments you need to make from there. Hopefully the band and the sound guy will be patient with you while you do this. It's all for the greater good though right?

Are you running the profiler into a computer or through a cab? Sounds really nice and clear and would love to get this set up in my bedroom if you could explain your signal chain please 👍🏻

I use a cabinet. Just throwing that out there. A lot of guys are doing that too. I think Tony sounds great. What he’s doing works great for him.

Guitar > Kemper > Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 (for recording purposes) > Tannoy Reveal monitors.
If I'm not recording then I'll just plug my Kemper directly into the monitors (XLR's).
      Hope this helps mate.

Great. Video Tony.. killer sounds.. I want to get one .. what’s the difference between the “toaster “looking one the stage one?.

    • Ian N
      Ian N Year ago

Software-wise, nothing. Usability wise, the kemper stage is more geared towards live gigging (think helix, headrush etc). As Tony said, the toaster requires a separate $400 or so foot controller. The stage you can view as kemper taking the toaster software and putting it inside the foot controller and, thus, kemper stage was born

    • Tony Emery
Tony Emery  2 years ago +1

The Stage was designed for live use (I think). The Toaster unit requires a separate switcher to switch profiles.

I believe it's from his 'Crank n Go' pack. Delay I think it's a two tap delay with ducking set to 0.4

Friend, please do you know how to copy an entire preset or entire amp + cab to another bank without using the rig manager?

    • JackR
      JackR 2 years ago

Yes there is a way. It’s hard to remember everything off hand but I think you press the amplifier button up top. It will tell you what to do from there. Put it in the slot you want and hit save 3x. PA I’m using the rack and was using the toaster head which I’m selling. I prefer the rack so I can tilt it.

Which studio-monitors do you use? Still only one of these little 4" Tannoy's...???

    • Cherry Sunburst
      Cherry Sunburst 2 years ago

@Tony Emery All right! Don't you think bigger...maybe monitors with 8" speakers would be best for this, because of more bass in the sound?

    • Tony Emery
Tony Emery  2 years ago +1

Haha thanks mate :D Yeah I'm currently still using the Tannoy Reveals. I use 2 of them in stereo ;) I may be looking to upgrade at some point this year.

Is it a free profiles or paid profiles from M Britt and Tonejunkies ?

    • JackR
      JackR 2 years ago

If you email Michael Britt he at least was sending quite a lot of freebies. I’m assuming he still does. A lot of pro artists do that to let you try them. Then I bought his pack 3. Don’t forget The Amp Factory, Bert Meulendyke has I think 10 freebies. He’s like the Dutch Michael Britt.
