Im not an Aussie but i watch the nrl on a regular basis and i think Fittler is a huge problem. His selections are baffling sometimes and his methods seem strange. Maybe Latrell can come back and save the day but I cant see Queensland losing at Suncorp.

NSW lost to a team down to 12 players, no bench and Hunt and Fifita in the centres 😂😂
That 6 again he called against queensland on the 30 sealed it for me that he was trying to keep nsw in the game. He called a penalty for a late hit on Frizzell right after that that noone saw. Frizzell didn't even get hia'd in the first half.

I think it does mean more to the maroons. Starting as a kid of say 8 years , I witnessed QLD lose every game bar one over the next 15 years. I might be a little out with the numbers here but the overall estimate is correct. One game at the Ecka ground when Graeme Langlands was blues and Australia captain, QLD won that 4 to 2. Wasn't televised but broadcast on radio. Incredible to listen to. And those were days when our own best players were coming back to best us. That went on for years. NSW has never had to experience that. Being thrashed by our own Queenslanders all because of money. You can bet your boots it means more to Queenslanders.

As a blues supporter, well done to the Maroons . I bitterly enjoyed they're competitive spirit and no doubt much deserved this win.Time and time again, i just wish that NSW will show that same level of desire and determination from which is lacking.Good luck to both teams for the remaining games and hope to make this an enthralling series.
I'm a qlder but the blues would be better if their coach picked players on form. Hynes at 17 instead of 6 was cooked. Murray should be the starting lock over Yeoh. Why was Hudson Young taken off so early?

Queenslanders victory simply shows which players are more passionate of representing their state than just adding another representative jersey to their cabinet. Picking players on form and playing for your state passionately will make you win.
This was just a showcase from the Maroons to the Blues on what happens when you actually have a variety of players on your team and not just a lot of players, all from one team who've been together to long (veterans)
It was a best selection put together by Billy Slater and the management which is portrayed in this magnificent performance.

They lose Fleger to a ridiculous sin bin with 12 mins to go, lose Taulagi to a HIA, players are forced to play out of position, they’re down on the scoreboard, and they score not one but 2 tries 🔥🔥🔥🔥 A forward outmarks the Blues fullback in the air to setup the final try 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 Just shows how much hungrier they are. No, we don't. In 1930, the American Medical Association issued a report recommending that protective equipment (including helmets) be used in all forms of football. These was to protect the players. There are still players who suffer after retirement with CTR brain injuries.
As an American who lives in Queensland, Australia, Rugby League is a different form of football. In league you cannot slam your shoulder into another player without a penalty. Also there is no risk of the fullback running straight up the middle of head first as with American football.
Walsh played like it was his 5th year of Origin . Certainly silenced the critics .

It was like the refs were doing everything they could so NSW could win that game and they still couldn't stop Qld. Thats one of the best wins from them for a long time considering we were a man down at the end, had 2 backs off the ground and we scored 2 tries in that period and came from behind, amazing.

It was worse than that. We lost an edge defender and put a middleman there. We lost 2 wingers and put a prop and a halfback in the centres to cover it. Then we lost a player to the sin bin. Thank god Cleary played for the blues tonight

Tougher calls need to be made, it's obvious Tedesco is well past his prime. Dylan Edwards should be fullback and it's dumb he wasn't picked just because Tedesco is the veteran poster boy for NSW.

As a NSW supporter, I'm glad QLD won last night as they deserve to be a true origin winner. The NSW players came to play weekly club game where QLD came with the origin spirit.

@M Jay 100% origin is different plenty of legendary club players have struggled at origin. The likes of Nathan merit or Paul green spring to mind.
I’m a QLD fan but Cleary played well . Was good too see the API and Cleary connection like the old Penrith days. QLD back 3 just had a near perfect night under the high ball
@Just Sayin how can you say he played well when the game was on the line Queensland had front rower in the centres, a middle defender on the edge, a halfback in the centres and a man in the bin. Dce and Munster stood up, Cleary hid like a shrinking violet. I guarantee you if Joey or stereo was the 7 nsw put on 18 points in that last 10 minutes. If the roles reversed and it was langer or Thurston against what qld had in the end they do an absolute demolition on them. Fact is Cleary is overrated more so than Anasta. If I was Freddy I’d be bringing in either Reynolds to be 7 or Hynes and having turbo or burton play 6 with latrell and Graham or turbo in the centres.

I’m a qlder, but I live in Argentina. It’s morning here, and I was getting my boy ready for school and missed flegler’s sin binning. I walk out and see hamiso going in. A few minutes later I switch to the phone, and get in the elevator. I get out to see Collins hugging Munster. I then hear something about being down to 12 men. I automatically assume that NSW are down to 12 and we scored because of that disadvantage…. I’m still shaking my head. Who loses like that? Or better, what team can win even though the are one short? Qld baby! Let’s hope they keep bombing to Walsh and cobbo in game two. That really worked.

That is absolutely unforgiveable. Freddy needs to be axed. I`m sorry, but we cant keep selecting coaches based on them being good blokes. The reason I say Freddy is he has the call on picking the players and getting them up for the match. The fact is NSW were handed that game on a platter, neutral crowd, QLDer in the sin bin, QLDer with dislocated arm, QLDers in HIA, playing out of position AND STILL COULDNT ICE IT. Simply unforgiveable.
It's annoying how the QLD Maroons with their backs against the wall and still managed to win like many times before.

The game was gifted to NSW on a golden platter and still the “Penrith Combinations” couldn’t win the game. They aren’t origin players. Congratulations on the win Queensland, a very hard won, but well deserved, victory.
"Penrith Combinations" gave them a fighting chance. Liam, Api, Critter, Cleary were the only Blues point scorers. Where were the other clubs on the scoreboard? Lesgo the Mighty Panthers 🖤❤️💛💚🤍
@Magic MangoCleary was hopeless, all the territory all the ball in QLD line yet couldn’t execute. Meanwhile DCE had the opposite, completely played on the back foot yet out played Cleary. Been saying it for years Cleary behind the Panthers foward pack is the most overrated flop in the game. You could put Luke Brooks in that Panthers 7 jersey he’d be a premiership winner.

The game winning try by Hammer was great eyes up footy. The 4 in defender was in the middle of the field. DCE and Grant new they had to go coast to coast. NSW should have been up faster if they were up as quick as Hynes theyd have pressured Grant. But Grant got it out with plenty of time to Munster. Munster burns to the outside of the edge defender 4th in, Jai holds up Cleary 3rd in defender. Munster created a 3 on 2 but Fafita wasnt deep enough and so he had to hit the line to gain time but then scoots around Hynes. Hynes missed the tackle but even if he got him he would have gotten the ball away to hammer with an inside man in Fafita. Hammer was chosen as a left centre cause his predominant ball hand is his left hand he also has the space thanks to the incorrect set up by the Blues and Munny knew he had the time and space to get him it. Hammer great effort to palm JAC who had to leave late on account of Munster going so deep into the tackle (that was eventually missed) and Fafita looming. Tedesco slipping over was just icing.
Blues mistake was too bunched and not enough line speed to shut down coast to coast. Gave Qld the time and space to get Hammer on the outside of JAC.

It’s been meant games since the NSW Blues Panthers have played together. Fittler put all his eggs in that basket when he has the most in-form No. 6 in the comp sitting on the bench for 64 minutes. If I was in the Blues camp I’d be asking some q’s… As a Qlder, I think this kind of repeated Bluesplosion is great to watch. Dont change a thing Brad!! 😂

There were 15 NSW Players on the field at one stage ( 13 + referee + bunker) and qld had 12 players and they still manage to score two tries. How on earth was the Thomas Flegler tackle a sin bin offence.
Ypu say that yet they didn't give the Frizzel try. The ball was down.

Frizzel was held up, you can see the Maroons arm under the ball. No clear angle showed that it was grounded.

His pick of Pangai Jr was as we all saw was nonsense.
His bench picks were also out of touch.Latrells injury aside he just seems out of touch.
Slater on the other hand made some tough calls but his picks seem to be nearly all correct and his game plan with Ben Hunt starting and Harry Grant off the bench has Freddy with no clue.Qld at Suncorp for a must win?
