Thank you Lex for all you do. You provide much-needed love and inspiration to many.
lex trying to hold back a smirk and laugh just in the intro. this is gonna be epic.
Thankyou for your podcast:)
Lot better than the Bourla Sell out episode. Hope you don't make mistakes like that again.
Seeing Joe outside his studio is like seeing your teacher at the grocery store
Joe being on the right side of the table affected my equilibrium.
I think it's "It's like watching a dog walk on its hind legs"
underrated comment!
🤣
YES!
Thank you for being you. You and Joe. Your impact in this world is important. How blessed we all are to be born in a time that gets to experience your existence. You are a wonderful human being, Lex.
Fuk excellent gratitude dude or dudette.
I went to the USA at the age of 10. Guess what? If I were to teach, I’d be a none native speaker. Been speaking English for about 30 years, and speak better than many “native” English speakers.
My 2 favorite people in the podcast world
I've just discovered Lex's podcasts by accident and I am quite astounded by how good they are. At first I wasn't sure about him and didn't understand what he was doing, or saying, as he was so unlike any other podcaster I'd ever encountered. But the quality of his thinking and curiosity was so high, that I became hooked. He has a rare combination of genuine intelligence, cultural awareness and generosity that makes him the ideal interviewer. I also love the fact that he closes his eyes when he thinking hard about something and trying to describe it (I do this too so it was very striking to see another person do it). Lex, I'd really like to know what happened during your trip to Ukraine and Russia. What did you find?
We think we find them by accident but it's algorithms.
@Nate M of course you're right. But I ignore u-tube's suggestions. I should have said I 'watched' him by accident. I never would have clicked a link with shouty font in the thumbnail. The algorithm is getting sneaky...
I came here after he did a scientology one woth AA Ron and I thought he was fantastic. Been hooked ever since
@Nate M 95% chance it was a bot comment.
@Bunjier That will never know. It's going to get harder and harder as time goes by too. Especially with all the advances in AI technology.
I love these guys. Open, honest, and articulate. Wish I had come across them earlier and so have a lot of catching up to do.
If you haven't come across Sam Harris either, I will recommend him as well.
I love how Joe is humble enough that he was even effected by the character attacks considering he is probably one of the most liked people on the planet
Grammar police here: affected by...
Unfortunately or “fortunately” depending on you ask he’s not the most liked person on the planet or in the continental US
@Derek Howe how many subscribers and people that watch him do you think there are?
@Stephen Brennan he has millions of subscribers and non subscribers that watch him. But the bigger you get the more people don’t like you. I genuinely don’t think he’s the most liked. Not to take anything away from him. It’s just outside of the US and Canada they probably don’t care much.
That is the best conversation I’ve ever watched… THANK YOU BOTH SO MUCH.
“Two of the most creative, driven and visionary people on earth - who also happen to be immensely kind and generous, hold a conversation” Thank you Lex Fridman and Joe Rogan.
well said.
I love these guys, and you too!!!
Your not so bad to listen to yourself 😉
@cerveza but what about your daught-er?
Such a badass interview. Being so lightheaded and able to truly get deep into the void opens up so much potential to explore, and all this for free to watch. So great.
As a newbie to your podcast just love listening to your interviews, they are deep and impactful ❤
Two awesome people having a great conversation! Thank you both for sharing real with so many! Head up and push on!🤘😎❤️✌️
Lex thank you! You are an inspiration yourself. Love your discussions...... Think your approach to interviews, it's all about learning and not judgment or putting people on the spot just to grab the interest of the listeners in a crazy moment for a rating. I have learned much about the people you speak to without the one sided opinion of the person doing the interview trying to influence what I think. Your questions are very well thought out and respectfully asked. Great job and thanks again!
There’s no word in the world we all can explain how much we love joe
Hearing Joe say that at one point he thought he was a loser / failure makes me feel better about the situation I am in rn, where I pretty much feel the same. My dad recently died from Covid, he was 40. He was the only parent that cared about the things I was interested in in, we got along really well, and now that he's gone I just feel alone, I am really isolative and super insecure and anxious all the time. I hope I can find something that'll give me confidence and the feeling of self worth.
Edit: Did not expect all of the support, thanks a lot guys
Edit: I have read most of these comments, and I am genuinely thankful for all of the support you have all given me. I will take all of it to heart, now it's time to fix things that need fixing. Still, wow. Thank you all, really.
Take care Yug
Sending you much love yug. You've started your journey of discovery in a great place, listening to Joe Rogan and Lex Fridman. If I may suggest, keep doing this. Clip-Share is a great place to find inspiring and informative people. You'll also find people who like yourself have found themselves alone and seemingly without a guiding star and found their mission, their purpose, their passions - and flourished. I wish you everything good. Make it work yug, make it work. You can do it!
Wow thats heavy man, hopefully u will get out of isolation and be social again. U havent processed everything yet I think
Keep your head up
Hope you can find peace by going to war with yourself. I lost my father a little over 16 years ago. It was tough for me.
These two have truly made strides towards killing their respective egos and it both shows and inspires.
I love the love and I wish more people could get past their self-constructed walls and do the same and feel comfortable in doing so. There would be a lot less hurt in the world…
I don't listen to the JRE podcast but this was a great reassurance that Joe is still a very rational, approachable, logical dude. Definitely one of my the more light-hearted, enjoyable listens out of all Lex's podcasts 👍
I'm completely in love with Lex and Joe. They're both incredible and for very different reasons.
Lex, I don’t know anybody appreciates what you’re doing or get thanks here in there but I want to thank you for everything you’re doing it’s quite fascinating and funny at times yet very educational
This interview was inspiring. Joe you are an amazing person and I always appreciated your open mindedness.
Good job man, don't let strangers bring you down or stop you from speaking and expanding your mind.
It's good to see Joe from another angle, both literally and figuratively.
Coker
Yep.
I had no idea his ear is pierced.
1:02:17 I HEARD HES A RACIST 💥🤯💥 LEX IS A TRUE GANGSTER 😂😆😂 AND JOE AS USUAL SKIRTS OUT OF THE WAY CHANGING THE SUBJECT FROM RACISM IN HIS LIFE SMH
LEX WINS FLAWLESS VICTORY 🙌🙌🙌
@K&M ALL HANDS ON STEAM DECK found the npc
First time I’ve seen the left side of his face! 😂
lex has to be the very best interviewer ive ever seen ,just outstanding
Appreciate both of you so much. Joe is a true inspiration. The real American. Just wanted to say about your comments of starting New Direction at 70. I just turned 70 I am in the gym with my thirty-six-year-old Filipina wife every two days, we have just finished travel to 18 countries, i surf or ride my mountain bike everyday. I'm certainly not Wealthy by any means I simply made up my mind to live my life to the absolute fullest until they shut off the lights.
The 2 most prolific podcasters around today, in the same room, talking about cool shit. Yeah I'm here for it 🔥
Lex... I stumbled across your show a fee weeks ago, and I must say you are an amazing human being. The world needs people more like you. Many, many more.
I can't believe I missed this one. I liked the UFO talk because I always had the same thought that UFOs were like stealth planes of the cold war. It's insane to think how old the U-2, SR-71, and F-117 stealth planes are.
Imagine what's being worked on in secret
The way Joe handled the barrage of negative opinions by choosing to ignore it all is a very good example of creating your own reality for self preservation, loving your self enough to protect your sanity. You are such an inspiration.
Creating a reality that - I'm possibly not understanding, you mean a separate space where your work stuff doesn't come in to family time,or a completely different reality from what the rest of us experience?
@Griffin MathersI think they meant the way he mentally views reality idk tho that's just how I took it like how aithiests and theists have different realities mentally at least that was my perception I hope that helps a little I'm not sure I took it correctly in context but that's my best guess
Yes, it's just great to ignore any all criticism and truck along, with your massive platform and influence, the consequence be damned. Truly an inspiration.
@BINARYGOD What criticism was valid though? It was all just hogwash
@BINARYGOD come on respond to abraham smith, dont ignore the criticism!
I really felt that intro. As someone who also emigrated here, while I know that there are many imperfections to America and alot of shady things go on. I truly cant help to think how much better my life has been due to me being here, and how I hope to impose change. Even if small but atleast try.
Loved that... I feel at home listening to Joe and Lex. I appreciate both of you brothers ❤
I struggle to manage my curiosity and try to challenge it less. So I watch little of content. But those two and such type of conversation calms my mind in a way I feel safe for my time. My attention is in a right place for sure. Thank you, Lex.
I've had my disagreements but Lex's ascendency and voice has been an immeasurably positive addition to the wider culture. In a similar way as Rogan. Making things like physics, psychology, medicine, AI and history interesting to a wider audience is an antidote the constant hum of validation loop media platforms. It's a better world bc of Lex.
We all have our individual disagreements but our abilities to listen, learn, understand, and attempt to relate is all we can ask of our selves.
We should disagree with one another. That's what makes us human. If we keep it civil, we'll make the world a better place.
@Dhalton Miller I don't consider Trump to be a historical figure of any real consequence. I'm more interested in the broader spectrum of existence and history.
@Richard Carbery Cool but I'm going bankrupt right now due to inflation and that is what I'm worried about. Glad you have that luxury
Joe is a lot of peoples friends but I don’t think he truly understands how lucky he is that so many men look up to him? It’s so awesome to see how much he cares about Lex here. Both men are some of my favorite people in the world.
My friend of over 30 years, Adam Grant, runs ultra iron man year after year. In addition, he has been a partner in his law firm for years and continues to expand. He has been happily married since for over 30 yrs with three adult daughters. He volunteers and has an active social life. Truly an amazing disciplined person! It definitely is art how he pulls it all off.
This is my first time listening to a podcast..Never knew it would be this interesting. Thanks Sensei Lex.
Two fascinating yet polar opposites having such easy, interesting conversation. Love both Lex and Joe…..
Thank God for comedians and for the reminder that we all have a sense of humor that we can use as a tool of unity especially when we have disagreements or varying opinions. If we aren't recognizing the value of this then we should be rethinking if what we say is truly our pondered thoughts or critical considerations for any conversation we encounter and not just regurgitation. Much love to you all and what you do!
So glad that Joe Rogan made it. I met him 20 years ago and was pushed to introduce myself to him at a pool hall in Boston. He was gracious and cordial. I was awkward and insecure meeting him because even then he was a celeb. He just instantly made me feel like a human ok to talk to. I have met many, many celebs and can say without a doubt that he is genuine.
I read that as "I met him 20 years ago and he pushed me into a pool in Boston."
So what you are saying is that he pushed you into a pool in Boston?
I've met many many many celebs and celebs are great and celebs are celeb and I say without a doubt that I'm genuine no doubt. And No Doubt aren't even celebs except for Gwen. Tell me I'm rong. Tell me I'm rong.
@dooby cook do you shoot pool? Did you tell him you’d give him the 8 ball and all the breaks?
@Somot I read that as present tense and not past tense. But maybe you don't even remember.
Joe is such an interesting person and so cool to listen to.
This podcast just shows how truly genuine Joe is. You can hear the sencerity in his voice and his conviction in his words. Love this guy...
It would be neat to be in a circle with people like Lex and Joe
Love it when Lex closes his eyes to access the huge library of knowledge in his brain.
Podcasts like this and Joe Rogans are important because they take on issues in ways that the mainstream media wont touch.
Joe's Alex impression is always gold. Always gets me to laugh out loud 😂
Same
his Joey is great too lol
Same 😂
“Inter-dimensional child molesters” + perfect impression made me laugh in a quiet public room
Great Podcast,God Speed Lex on your journey may God Be with you , you picked a great person Joe is too cool , Great Interview
Lex is just an amazing human being…
i love how pragmatic Joe Rogan is. Wonderful channel, Lex! A breath of fresh air in an otherwise dull world.
These two I could listen to for hours more!
Lex and Joe two of my favourite podcasters
Seeing it go full circle with joe on lex’s podcast is indescribably wholesome.
I just hope these 2 aren’t Communist/Neo-Marxists…..
@Cult Boy as long as it’s genuine. It’s fine
I love that Joe Rogan is able to realize how much he grows with every single podcast.
I remember a podcast where he made a comment I took personal. But then I realized that he still has some growing up to do.
When do we stop growing? Only in feet!
Such a great interview! I love and respect both of you so much, this was a great treat for me! Ty
@lexfridman nice work, I love it that you came to the US and followed your dream. And are interviewing @joerogan. Nice to see someone succeed with Podcasting and Live Streaming. Great interview. I like your style. I'm inspired. --walk in peace brother CapnChris
Joe is absolutely fantastic one of the funniest things he ever described himself and his friends in high school he called us "chimps in a high school" I can relate to that I was a chimp in high school 😆
Seeing Joe in higher resolution than in his own podcast is hilarious :D
I love that Joe said, “kindness is an art”. I really feel that n so appreciate people who put out genuine goodness in the world 🌎
I couldnt help but wonder.. is cruelty an art then?
same guy that left LA because he constantly complained about the homeless population... but yeah listen to a millionaire about his kindness philosophies...
@KonaRider The rarest of human "art" today IMO is courtesy, consideration, and respect for others. Regardless of wealth or world view....give it a try judgemental one!
@Special Operator i dont slobber over joe's little mushroom cap... sorry!
@KonaRider How is that his fault? The gov has been sitting on all the earmarked money for those social problems. It then reverts back to the general fund. If you really want an answer as to placing blame, you'll have to look deeper 😉.
i found myself beaming at your introduction, i don’t know you personally yet i feel proud of u. love you lex!!!!
It makes me so happy to see these two people together. Lex, you are as American as it gets. Don't ever let anyone tell you otherwise
Man I got some much love for these fellas, and I've never even met them! Joe has opened my mind to anything and everything from his pod, and I'm thankful for it.
It’s crazy to think that I’ve been watching the JRE, podcast going 6 years.
This episode is like Heaven on Earth. Two extremely intelligent and emotionally intelligent people who are genuine friends, talking candidly. I love this podcast!!!
Yep. Awesome talk. Joe is so good with words; especially enjoyed his perspective on relationships and his obvious respect for his wife. Be great to have a beer with.
They are definitely not friends
@Neon Grapes they are, they go on trips together
I think joe is great for hanging out with a rowboat.
Greatest comic of all time in Billy Connelly. No other has cracked both sides of the Atlantic, Asia etc. in both comedy and movies.
I absolutely Love these 2 Studs.
Both are very Dapper Men. With Great Attitudes, Ambition,... I look forward to watching anyone of their shows. Safe Travels Lex.. 🙏❤️🩹⚘️
Love Joe's & Lex's spirit. Humble, inquisitive and gracious. Thanks mate... from Australia
Lex I'm glad your here, keep up the good work
Great interview between these two friends. 👍
Thank you, Lex. As an old woman, with too much to read, watch, learn and listen to, and too little time left to do it, I am so pleased to have found your channel. I am impressed by your personal approach, your seriousness, openness and acknowledgment of what people before you have gone through. Thank you. And Jo’s advice about cold plunge is excellent. :)
You can always get better - my mother died at 98. Just before she died, she said she had finally understood The Brothers Karamazov. She had at 80 started to learn Russian in order to understand Dostoyevsky’s subtlety. This woman had to leave school at 12 to help run the family farm. She accepted what life threw at her (including life-long chronic pain) and laughed in the face of adversity and taught us, her kids, to do so as well.
Hey girl! Life is a perfect game. There is always the next level. Constant self upgrade is the key. Time does not exist, so, set your sights and go for it!
Nope
@stantri sinhro love it!!
Joe's a awesome legend 👍 love the dude.
Love both of you guys, thank you for your open mindedness and for all what you do. Keep up you are changing people's life
Joe Rogan at the start talking about the art of kindness was validating
Joe Rogan just gains a great deal of respect from me, when asked about the best comics out there, mentions Lenny Bruce. When you get thrown in jail for your performance and mentioning irony as jokes. That man did it all comically.
Seeing joe as someone that gets interviewed is like seeing mike tyson loosing a fight
Lex - Congratulations on episode #300!! Your work is truly appreciated along with the time of those who you interview.
Do you mostly watch stuff hosted by cisgender white men?
Much respect Lex Fridman.
Wow, thank you for sharing. Great conversation and some insight. I may not share the same beliefs as Joe but I enjoy his views.
Never watched this one....thank you Lex.. it's my pleasure to watch your work learn and grow 😊
I love how Lex Fridman is like a fan boy of Joe Rogan. It seems Joe has been a mentor and a good friend and it pulls on my heartstrings.
New Fridman fan, love his consciousness!
I'm new to watching Lex...I love this guy, no ego, no bullshit just a great balanced and down to earth intelligent dude.
I think he is a robot. A real human android straight out of the MIT factory.
1/2 Ukraine 🇺🇦 1/2 Russian 🇷🇺 and 100 % 🇺🇸 American
Don't hesitate to watch his older content. I'm not saying he's better than Joe but he's definitely standing on the same pedestal
@Preston B let w p Let oh
let w p Let oh
Seeing Joe Rogan sitting on the right side after orbiting his life through countless episodes with him sitting left feels almost like seeing the dark side of the moon 🌒 or the strange feeling of brushing one's teeth with another hand
Lol, alright Joe’s impression of Alex Jones is literally 1,000% SPOT ON! 😂
I love lex, the man is so humble and honest. Keep up the good work bro
Good for Joe to realize you can't be perfect and you can't please everyone nor should one waste any effort towards something that society has built under false pretenses. If I learn only one lesson from listening to this interview is how Joe creates these brutal workouts and routines for himself not only for physical as well as mental but greatly prepares himself for when the shit hits the fan he is able to handle the negativity with his head head hi and confident he will over cone just about anything.. Plus Joes seems to be a really good guy , hard worker. loyal friend to the ones he calls his friends, family man etc... (from what I listen to)
⁶ 🎉
"if you're alive you can get better at stuff" nice quote there . Great interview and I think gave a great insight into Joe Rogan as a person, thank you. I took alot away from this interview which I'll be using to improve myself and how I look at other people.
100% proof of great conversation and dialog. Great interview. It's great to see Joe on the interviewee side of the mic. So cool Joe overcame the cancel culture.
🍻
Even more cool that his podcast grew at a higher rate than ever during that time. It shows that there are a good amount of people out there who see the bullshit for what it is in mainstream media. I'd bet a good majority of the distribution of both the new and existing, loyal subscribers are part of the silent majority....
A shadowed comment. RIP
@GetSchanked I still can't believe I used to get wasted for fun with my friends listening to the Joe Rogan podcast during comradery sessions in high school listening to death metal and that this is where we have arrived at.
He was never cancelled psyop.
two awsome podcasters at it again = ) love joe, love lex ,and must I say , damn nice suit Lexy =)
There really IS something to be said about NOT taking part, for any reason, in psychedelics, or drinking alcohol. When people talk about their experience, often they were exposed to pictures, ideas that their brains did not grow into. As a example, I’ve repotted one of my aloe into a very large planter and this last year it has grown ski waddled and skinny, interesting but definitely odd,
even with the same amount of sunshine, water, fertilizer, in the same area it was before I manipulated it. I don’t think that humans are any different from plants when they are exposed to
equal manipulation for reasons that they have not completely thought through.🌸💥
All the subjects we need to be misinformed by the MIB in 1 video. Wow! Thank you so much! ❤
Sir, I don’t know if you’re taking too many drugs, or not enough, but good luck with that
3:15 "there's an art to kindness, & when I'm around them it's beautiful" - Joe Rogan Amen to that, that's beautiful Joe, need a lot more of that in the world!!
I love your shows. You are bouth an inspiration. Education for the people!
I've been following this teacher-pupil relationship between Joe and Lex for awhile now and it's amazing how it changes over time. Lex becoming more mature interviewer lately, Joe being Joe, always asking the right to-the-point questions at the right time. Lex is a philosopher, Joe a butcher/surgeon. Eastern style of thinking versus the western. Mutual respect and friendship. Thank you both, guys, for making the world a better place
Very well said
Well said 👏
Lex is much more of a contrarian and wide eyed and young. Joe is more pragmatic. Age difference is distinct here.
LMAO
Bro, read a gawd damn book. Jesus Christ.
Lex is just so damn genuine.
So do other interviewers get referred to in the third person by their guests as often as Lex ?😂. Love the podcast. 😊
No Clip-Sharer has ever meant a thank you so much. You can usually tell they’re all a little fake. Lex is just so wholesome.
Lex is a master of conversation, he's impressed me with Joe Rogan. 100%
This interview is great. Both ya'll are fascinating
The friendship of these two is so real, it’s amazing to watch
What's amazing was the video Joe posted of lex absolutely blackout hammered in the airport lol. Those dudes really are true friends
them mentioning of having putin and trump on respective show had me rolling LOL
I’ve been a subscriber to the JRE for years, and I watch his videos often, yet I was unaware that he was ‘Under attack.’ I’m wondering how I missed this….
Joe’s one of my favourite people whom I haven’t met… yet. (I’m hoping to remedy that soon).
Love and All Good Things,
Jess.🌹
That King Kong & Godzilla bit was hilarious when Joe said stop 😅
Such a beautiful introduction. Lex Friedman, I love you.
Joe rogan is the man of the moment. I Will always remember Joe rogan. His emotion, energy, sheer fucking will 😂 Joe rogan is a national treasure and to get to watch him in the UFC every PPV event and then on the JRE is brilliant.
"I don't know if there's any other art form [than comedy] that experiences such a low rate of success"
Literally every other art form. Painting, writing, music, photography, you name it.
