Did he just leak Santa Claus address? 😮
😂😂😂😂😂
Lol
I once thought that area 51 was home to santa claus
What no comments and likes
Could you sell me the oneplus 9 pro motherboard if you don’t need it anymore ?
This has to be one of the most complicating phones you dissassembled over the years, everything is so intertwined together, like a maze in itself.
Yay have Rog 6 out of curiosity i opened it once and completely destroyed my proximity sensor i accidentally stabbed a cable on the bottom board which killed it. It has way too many cables
Nah, there is some HTC phone that was equally difficult or more, forgot the name though
yh but even tho it's complecated, its probobly more repair friendly than iphones are
A-maze-ing 😊
@Zakariae JAmiai nope, i had a rog phone 2, and it suddenly died after the ic board got damaged, the parts were extremely rare, i gave it to 5 different shops, took almost 5 weeks and still wasnt able to find a part, so i just switched back to samsung and got an s22 ultra
This is the only phone i would understand removing the headphone port on, and the madlads managed to keep it in anyway.
Super impressed. If this had a MicroSD slot and camera stabilization id buy it immediately but for now, still waiting
I just tried this flap opening on my 7 Ultimate and i'm amazed I hadn't seen the option to open it without the cooler attached before!
For those wanting to try it -
Obviously be careful but in the Aeroactive Cooler settings in the armoury crate, go to the aeroactive portal, and press the 3 dots at the top. Then go to cleaning and maintenance. Did not know it could do that!
Rog definitely doesn't want you to do that as it can ruin the whole cooling system.
@Fahim Alamthat’s far fetched
@Fahim Alam i mean if that did destroy it, then why can the normal version of the phone work without that? also it literally tells you to use that in that maintenance menu to open it with that menu to clean it using air since the cooler isn't really dust proof.
@Fahim Alam He doesn't want to, and that's why he has it as an option in the commonly accessible menu?
Hi Jerry after watching you for years I finally had the confidence to be more sustainable and perform my own repairs instead of buying new today. I successfully fixed my ebook with a replacement part from aliexpress. It was cheaper and more sustainable than ordering a new one. I dont think i would have had the confidence to do it without your influence so thank you! I am supper happy i fixed it like 2h ago and everything works well!
Sería interesante ver qué tan eficiente es el sistema de disipación una vez extraído del dispositivo, claro utilizando una cámara térmica 📷, buen video ❤ 🎉
Uma obra de arte da Asus, para mim o número 1 entre os smartphones
I love you man, I've been watching your videos for at least 5 years now, and even tho they are "all the same thing," you find a way to make everyone feel unique. Keep doing your thing man!!
he has a wife. u have zero chance
Zack does sound like an Agent for an elite organisation.. so persuasive, so decisive, and truly american,verbally.. he is like an interrogation officer somewhat.. anyway thanks for your breath taking exploits that will not just save us money, and time, but wisely define our decision as the end consumer of the products.. Thanks Zacks..❤
Damn, now I understand why Asus makes such a big deal about this phone.
Heck, even reading all the gaming features alone makes me confused.
I can't imagine how much effort it must have taken to research, develop, engineer, test and implement such a complex set of systems that work so seamlessly with each other to produce this masterpiece ❤
This thing is a masterpiece but everyone says Redmagic is better 💀
@Sriroop Redmagic 8 pro costs like 800 euros. That’s a 600 euros of difference for identical specs in almost everything.
@Toshitsune Ōmizu Well it's a chinese phone so it's going to be cheaper but I have to worry about what shit is hidden in the coding and what information it is collecting.
@SilvaDreams Asus is also a Taiwan company..so technically yea, still a Chinese phone.
@Kenzou Kazuto They are an independent country, despite what China wants. (And they really want them because they have a lot of chip production facilities which the mainland lacks)
At the beginnings of this cooling saga was the Poco F1 with its tiny copper pipe & a teeny amount of liquid in it to this 8:51 …. What a journey so far!
The dismantling process is very detailed. If I were in this area, I would definitely support you 😋
Man, it's so relaxing to watch you do tech stuff.
Thank you, that was really good to see. Just goes to show what can be done to a mobile phone if there's a will to do it.
FYI, that graphite sheet probably cools as much as the vapour chamber, they have crazy high thermal conductivity in the z axis!
I think that only cooper has crazy thermal conductivity but who knows what a carbon can do...
@Nobody Carescopper is good, but graphite is actually better if you look at numbers. problem with graphite is one 1 direction has the great cooling, every other way is bout the same as copper
Bro is the final boss for all phones
Whenever one of my phones acts up I threaten to send it to Zack. Usually works
1:34 Zack accidentally hits his hand on the knife's blade and doesn't even get scratched. He's indestructible!!!
Thought I was the only one that noticed that hahaha
Probably gets scratched at level 6 with deeper groves at level 7
With the look on his face, it looks like he noticed it too lmao
pause at 1:35 - that was a pretty hard contact right with the razor edge.. and not even a small cut? pretty dull knife eh? not the best advertising...
@Shekhar Bahuguna hahhhhahaa
Imagine Jeery opening the phones like professional technicians without destroying anything.
I love how they place the motherboard in the middle so the cooler do also can cool the CPU & main board.
its cool seeing you pack stuff i like those mailers alot they seem pretty efficient
It’s actually not surprising that the cooler is behind the screen,
If you’ve ever played intense games on your phone, you’d notice that the screen gets hot as well as the back.
Jerry I feel for you everytime you do a teardown, I finally realised you buy each phone with your own money. I hope more phone companies would support you. ❤Your work and your family for all the good you do for the world. God bless you and protect your loved ones. 🙏👍
If one gets that kind of popularity, it's not hard to buy a phone, I'd rather have a problem with scratching and burning a brand new, fresh out of the box phone. Of course, if manufacturers would send him phones for testing, he would certainly be very pleased.
What a complicated hardware I have ever seen. Asus is really doing a great job 👍
7:15 this likely explains why this throttles more than a Xiaomi, despite the more elaborate cooling. Only the external USB cooling lessens the throttling
I hope phone manufacturers start looking at Frore System's Airjet cooling as it's damn impressive compared to what ASUS did here.
A $1500 Motorized Smartphone cooler looks cooler than anything else.
Wow comedy
ugh go to sleep dad
MrStrange ohh man, you went too far
By the price it costs, it needs to have a differential haha
Love the new colors for the knives just wish you would change the design so it uses a push button to release the lock mechanism, thus easer open and close
Are those not illegal in the States? They are in Canada, at least. I think the reason I want one is just cause the government says I can't can't have one 😂
Dear JerryRigEverything, we couldn't help but draw your attention to the quality and professionalism of your video reviews. Therefore, with more confidence, we noticed that you did not disassemble the AeroActive Cooler 7. Our huge request, if possible, is that you identify the components for us, remove the disassembly and show which Peltier and which speaker is installed in this cooler. We are sure that such an analysis will help a wide audience to establish a more accurate assessment of this device. Thank you in advance for your time and we are waiting for your response.
And yet I hear most people complaining about how difficult it is to do disassemble and/or repair Apple phones - the ROG looks like a master-class puzzle!
Hey Jerry....excellent work....I have a samsung s10 plus and ready to update...should I wait for the samsung s24 or is the ROG 7 a great phone ?
Would be very interested to see what regular person load you can push into a normal smartphone and see what Temps you can get.
Playing music and pokemon go in full sunlight during the summer? Maybe run that off a wifi Hotspot or even better be a wifi Hotspot to push the phone hard and use wifi, Bluetooth, 4g screen at full brightness and speakers at full volume. Sure call of duty would be a better test but pokemon go is so badly optimized it will put more load on the system.
Phone manufacturer always put main processor behind the display, this made usb cooling fan less effective but I think the way ROG did is better because the copper fin will transfer heat directly from the CPU
Heat also transfers faster through glass than through a plastic or metal case.... And they know most people will put a protective case which would further insulate the back.
Since I got the ROG phone 2, I've never wanted another line of phones. I'm on the 5s right now and this thing is a beast. My old one still works so well, thanks to the battery care settings ASUS has put in. Plus the headphone jack, front firing speakers, and large battery, I don't play mobile games but this is a media/productivity powerhouse
but 5s dont have amolad diplay thats why I am stuck to rog 2 smh
all I care about in my phone is good processor smooth software and a very very good screen
@Divyang Verma all of them have amoled screens since the first rog phone
plz tell me best battery care settings
@Hector Ovalle plz tell me best battery care settings
@Divyang Verma plz tell me best battery care settings
I appreciate that the ROG phone, along with Nintendo, are among the only devices I know of to scrap the headphone jack only to bring it back. Of course Nintendo was all the way back in 2005 with the GBA SP and Nintendo DS.
I almost exclusively buy ASUS motherboards and GPU's and quite like their products but this... This is overkill.
I want one. But looking at this I have to take into consideration that if something breaks it's gonna be near impossible for a repair guy to fix it whitout out breaking something else. What extra parts should be ordered just incase if a person would want to get new battery?
Wait they have biodegradable shipping labels ? I had no idea that was a thing , that’s awesome ! Why are those not mandatory for shipping labels period…
very subtle color combination for the new 2 knives... well played... a true man of culture.
thank you for taking one of these a part. I have the ROG phone 6D ultimate and was always curious.
Let's be honest, people can build much better and simpler DIY gaming phones with way better cameras than these with modern flagships, for cheaper. But still I commend the engineers who indeed build a gaming phone and come up with out of the box ideas to cool a phone, whilst preserving the slim form factor
This phone reminds me of early tech where purpose > conventional. This is the reverse of early ROG phones where the outside is more unconventional compared to the inside. Rog making a lot of questionable compromise for this phone. Its weird
Poderia ter testado dynasty warriors 5 geralmente os smartphones viravam bomba pq ele tem muitos inimigos na tela
why does that blue thermal paste look so tasty 😂
Someone forgot their candy there which has melted 😄
for real!
Looks like blue raspberry saltwater taffy
The forbidden marmalade
Because it is! 😋
Thanks for the alcohol tip. I found a doner phone to replace the battery in the wife's unit and successfully got to the battery on the donor without any catastrophes. But I chickened out after attempting to remove the battery as I was foreseeing a massive fire in my shop.
The alcohol will either help or act as a accelerant on my next try.
Rubbing alcohol works great since it breaks down the adhesive or at least works as a short lived solvent till it evaporates. But a little prying then more alcohol and rinse and repeat and batteries come out rather easily
Wow... But this also leaves me with a question. What do you do with all the broken phones?
@Zack, how do you dispose of the phones that you end up destroying?
I'm sure you don't keep all of them after they go through the ringer with you.
Imagine if motorized cooler really had price of $1500
Here's a real nerdy question that sounds ridiculous. If I were to buy the Asus Rog 7 phone, which color version do you think dissipates heat the most to help with the thermals? The Phantom Black or Storm White?
Love your videos keep it up bro ❤
The Jerry Rig knives are amazing! I own 3 variations and hope to complete the rainbow as I save up more money!
Looks so cool, I would want one
With Yuzu coming out on Android this phone just got a whole lot more appealing
Looks like Jerry you got lucky at 1:34. Maybe next time don't leave the blades open. I watch your videos that closely. 🙂
Guess he's harder than glass, no wonder he never get cuts handling glass with bare hands, and his nails scratch flexible 'glass' screens =p
To be honest it's not just kids playing genshin impact or cod on phone, these days the SoCs itself run hot. My sd 888 runs hot even when I am not playing games and when playing some games like star rail it gets super hot thus those cooling is definitely a need.
Can you showcase how the speaker sound with and without the tiny balls. Love you videos for educating people about phones❤!
Try to imagine building one of these things from just a bunch of loose parts. It's got to be with some type of robotic device. No human could do it alone and then start all over on the next one.
Most are robotically assembled, it's just a lot faster and accurate
02:30
It was at this point I died on the inside...
07:46
Don't exaggerate.. there's no way you could stick it back together & it still work at this point? I mean it'd sure surprised the heck out of me if you could.. ?
08:54
It may not be unique, but I'm honestly impressed by the engineering...
This all being said... what I think would be awesome, is if a phone like this, used less glue, & more like frames.. or some sort of backbone support?
So basically all the parts basically just slot into place, but it could be disassembled to fix it?
I still own a Samsung Note 9 phone. I like it. BUT eventually something will go wrong, it'd be nice to have the option to fix it w/o too much of a headache, or being in danger of cracking the screen...
I'd like to just be able to slide the phone apart in pieces, & put it back together as easily. I bought it on sale for like 800 bucks.
If I bought a 1500 usd phone, I'D DEFINITELY want to have the option of repairing it easily.. or at least being able to get to components & replace them easily.
Anyways.. cool vid. Thanks for doing.
Best wishes of luck Insh'Allah for you Zack in your business, I've been here for years tho and good to see your business turning up in a short period = )
i have the 5 ultimate...works flawless with no issues so far
I'm pretty sure my CPTSD has been contributed to greatly by Zak's teardown vids of luxury items.. Thanks man. :)
Saludos desde México eres el mejor amigo siempre viendo algo nuevo en tus videos
I told a friend of mine about this phone and now they want to buy it!😂great video!
Ever since I got the first ROG phone they have been my love of phones and more importantly unlike Samsung and the others they don't load your phone with a shit ton of bloatware. You get a fairly stock android install just with their armory software that controls the lights on the phone and stuff.
Half of the price must be just the skills and time to assemble this.
imagine having a "complicated" cooling system on the phone ruined by not extending the "riser" on the copper plate which should be in tight contact with the chip as much as possible to achieve ideal heat transfer behaviour. Thermal compound with such a thick layer acts more as an isolant at this point.
It's a cool phone...except it isn't when it comes to repairability. Man that thing is complicated to disassemble! And the way they designed everything is kind of annoying of you ever end up deciding this device needs an open. The cooling fins are a pretty good concept though. But we've seen a similar approach from Nubia's Red Magic series for a while now.
Zach: A phone disassemble with voice command
Fairphone: Write that down! Write that down!
With how deep inside we are headed this probably won’t be our only accident
Damn Jerry relax💀
Watching your integration realized that I happy to live in Ukraine, because same mailing opportunity available here by NovaPost as native option and no additional charges ❤
The only thing this phone needs is a game that can actually take advantage of all those specs
Engineering at it's peaks 😲
5:05 Wow, I thought those cameras did have OIS! 😨 Yikes!
7:35 ASUS should honestly just stick with 1 6000 mAh battery instead... 😶
8:45 Looks like something worth maybe $20 at most. 🤣😂
As usual with ROGs, the ROG Phone 7 Ultimate looks like a nightmare to disassemble! 👾
We need a water-cooling mod for this phone
Zack is digging straight towards my soul
3:24 This reminds me of my idea to fill some cheap speakers with packing peanuts to see if it can have a positive effect on the sound quality.
I'm sure it was just for the B-roll, but if not probably don't wanna get caught using Media Mail to ship knives 😂
I used to work for USPS, that's one of the few mailing products that has restrictions
Rather than a sticky-outy heatsink and tiny fast fan, I wonder how well these kinds of gaming phones would fare with those new airjet coolers
You mean the "innovative" tech that is little more than just a flat speaker?
The balls are still just for dampening resonances in the speaker box. The speaker would sound slightly bigger without them but sound much worse.
can you make a comparison with those foam ball filled speaker before and after you remove them :)
I wanna see this under a thermal camera
"i guess sometimes violence is still the answer" that is the scariest thing i heard jerry saying
WOW!!! Very cool cooler!!! Way to go Asus
The Rog phones are these kinds of products that I'd never buy but I still really want to have one because overkill is funny
What if jerry uses the camera from the teardown of his phones, as camera for his electric hummer and make it autonomous 👀
“Flapped it’s last flap” made me laugh way too hard😅
I own the 6D Ultimate. It has a nicer design but has a bit less power for it. I'm talking about about 1% here. It doesn't realy matter. But it is cool to see the inside of the phone. I mean mine does look similar. But why would a person like want's to buy this phone? I mean gaming yes but the main reason is the high amount of computing power for simulation programms for computers. If you think about this is a Computer for your pocket. It's fun to play around but there aren't enough games or grafic settings to suite this phones abilities. Perhaps this will change sometime.
Repair shops probably cower in fear when they get this phone in the queue
I've ALWAYS wanted an ROG phone since the first one... But until they get great level cameras... I'm not buying one.
@JerryRigEverything - Scary to think microminiaturisation (embedded tech) is the next evolutionary step in consumer communications. They won't be so easy to tear into. 🤣
I wanted to see you put that thing together... It would have been great if you didn't break anything else other than the back glass during the teardown.
On the site the shipping costs are not indicated before the purchase. How much does shipping cost to Europe?
I use to repair those ROG phone but i think we are gonna pass on this one, too much time consuming also the cost of the screen assembly + time would cost a fortune to the customer.
Can you please do a durability test / teardown for the ROG Ally?
Did you do one of these for the aero active cooler that came with the phone?
I love that Zack is entering his "Batman villain" phase..
The screen didnt break did it? I would love to see you putting it together again
it did break near the bottom
How right to repair friendly is this phone Jerry?
Scratches at level 10 and slightly deeper scratch at level 12.
Some theoretical materials may score way above diamond on the mohls scale.
The thermal paste amount seems so lazy to me. If I could replace it with thermal grizzly, if that'll even help it work better... And even then, I hope I wouldn't literally need to place the same amount they did.
I love that level of organization...
Waiting for the time cooling paste are directly integrated into the phone's chip. Forming a gooey lil' brain-like structure
