As someone who has been waiting for years for this to come out, I can only hope this gets the animation it deserves.

It has an amazing story some filler but nonetheless fire story I just hope they go a little off track and really push emotions that I got from reading
Such as when he rivals the leader of the Chinese hunters and makes him feel”death” when he saves Jin ah from the orcs in their school. So many fearful badass moments they better make us watchers feel the emotions and do a good job animating I don’t want a let down.

I actually screamed when I saw this, I'm so excited. Please, please, I beg of you A-1, do this series justice. You can push back the release date another five years for all I care, as long as you do it right. Do justice to the story, cast it properly, give it an epic musical score, don't let the quality of the animation falter after the first couple episodes, and treat it with all of the pomp and swagger it deserves. Us fans are counting on you.
Ngl I was hoping a studio like MAPPA or David Production would animate this, but A-1 did Magi *and* Kaguya Sama so I have faith it's going to be high quality. Fingers crossed, this series got me addicted to Manwha

@Soham Mohanty It is mostly about fighting, but the side characters aren't bad. They're actually hella unique and very diverse considering half of them aren't Korean (or I guess it will be Japanese because a Japanese studio is making it? I don't know how they're going to reconcile that actually because the locations are pretty important plot wise). But our lead character dominates the screen time. The story is all about his personal journey, and he spends much of it on his own, hence the title "Solo Leveling".
A-1, please get this animation to be spectacular. This story deserves to be an absolute amazing anime.

2 things I got excited over: the statue's smile done correctly, and sung's glow up done correctly, I was scared they'd massacre the look
When i saw th statue's smile it gave me the chills 🥰
Everything seemed cool till the glow up sum seemed off to me with that scene but idk what I was
I think the design is to light in the anime. I hope they stick with the manwa feeling
I disagree, the statue, YES!, but everything else seemed halv assed. THIS here is the exact reason why Chugong didn't want it to be animated. It's going to be very hard to pull the anime up to a level where it's able to compete with the manwha.

R.I.P Jang Sung-Rak (Dubu). It's been a real ride in this manhwa and the art is stunning. I hope you are looking from above there looking proud that your work has become so successful that it's getting it's own anime. Hopefully Crunchyroll doesn't rush things and skip panels from the manhwa just like with "The God Of Highschool". I'm totally looking forward to it.

Same, but most of all even if they don't do too well in the animation as long as they don't take away from the manhwa or light novel. They better not add anything that wasn't in the light novel either unless it gives us a happier ending which already is a happy ending (sad for some characters but over all happy)

Same! They just better not ruin the story by taking away anything important or adding anything that wasn't in the light novel (unless they add more to the ending like for example more explanation and scenes of the side stories)

@Kendall I wonder how it would've been with Studio Trigger instead. Sure their color palettes are somewhat pastel-like or dull, but their animations sure are quite detailed usually.
Or if we really wanted it as close to solo leveling as possible then perhaps the animation studio of Grand Fate Order? Their coloring and lightning illumination is quite glowy.

@Tastelikesorrow No they are not. Dubu was the original illustrator of the manhwa who sadly passed away in 2022 due to a cerebral hemorrhage. His illustrations were amazing, so I hope they do his art justice in animated form.

I really hope that they would not make significant changes to the story and that they would not shorten/skip on scenes because everything is important for Sung Jin Woo's (in this case he has a japanese name) character development
I can just imagine the music building up getting more and more intense before suddenly cutting out. Jin-Woo takes a sharp breath before saying "Arise"

Solo Leveling was one of the first manhwa I ever read years back. I freaked out when Gigguk made a video about it. I was so satisfied when I heard the anime was going to happen because after I started reading it I said no way it doesn't get an anime adaptation. Now we're almost there!

This will probably be the first time imma say this about an adaptation but I hope they make some tweaks that final stretch of solo leveling was pretty lack luster not gonna lie. I know it was rushed because of the authors health issues but it was pretty bad.
@Fix Me I think that’s fair. I really enjoyed the mystery being explained and all, but I also felt like the last minute exposition dumping kinda burnt me out a little. Overall I’ll probably be happy as long as it’s hype
