I love how Tyler understood the task and Ed and Freddy saw "bad" and went for a bad car, the task was to get a bad offroader, not a bad car, IE: could've taken a brand new sedan in perfect condition 2WD, it would've been a bad offroader

  • Luis Guerrero

This is the BEST cartrek to date. I laughed so many times. My favorites: Freddy with the baby tent, Tyler's flat tire, Tyler throwing his spare on Freddy's hood. Great job, guys

Military HMMWV would be a terrible offroader because of the abuse they see in service and the abysmal diesels they come with. The BEST offroader would be the SAME truck, fully maintained, and converted to a Cummins 12V and Allison 1000 transmission. With air conditioning and an MP3 player too, please.

Nothing wrong with that. They're just doing 3-4 four films a year and Clarkson once again is under threat of being fired plus all 3 prefer doing their own shows these days.
This and every other car show on Clip-Share aren't copies of Top Gear, they are part of its legacy. Top Gear walked, tripped and fell over so all other shows could run.

    • Joexali

@Max Monlux Agreed. Clarkson, Hammond and May are great but their time in the spotlight is coming to an end. And when they stop, i hope they don't bring the format to an end.

Love the Allroads. They are just a great vehicle for pretty much any surface. Ive driven one offroad, in snow, in sand (on that very beach I believe), and never had any car come close to that level of performance. And they are great on regular roads too, super comfortable and lots of power even with the 6cyl. Just a great car overall. Crazy expensive to fix though, I wouldnt buy one that wasnt immaculate.

@diesel power I had a 1973 with Perkins 4236 diesel conversion. The British way is to have maximum articulation and take it very slowly in low range. I had a standard 4x4 RR with just a centre diff lock. Never got stuck off roading. I did have to hammer the rear springs back into their seats once I was back on the tarmac though.

@Tyler As a Brit .landrover diesel owner when you use all the available built In help needs, and then it won't work, try the poor man's assent/descent control, light brake pressure to the 4 drive wheels will stop the easiest wheel spinning.. later models have a button that does this. The early diesel engines were not hugely powerful;l but had a huge torque band for climbing. I Always buy diesel options as most are in the UK and Europe.

Pro tip for off-roading. Get a set of all-terrain truck (as in 16 wheeler), tires. They're designed for MUCH longer runtime than standard tires and have insanely thick sidewalls. You can drive em anywhere and everywhere and they'll last 10x longer than even the fanciest off-road tires.

@Mill9999 that doesn't have a whole lot to do with him, plenty of people have parents with questionable pasts, don't need to hold his fathers choices against him is not the 1700's

Hearing Hoovie legitimately panic when Ed almost went careening off the side of that mountain really set the tone during that moment. It was a serious situation that could have gotten ugly. Thank you all for the amazing content, sincerely 😊

@jbmp1390 how am I "soft"? For saying it's a better TG than current TG? Aw, did I hurt your oversensitive feelings by speaking the truth? You can't tell me TG is any good since Jezza, Hamster and Captain Slow left.
      Prove me wrong.

I’m really enjoying watching you guys gel as hosts, even if the psycho bit was overdone. I absolutely love that Freddie’s natural accent came out when he said “that car is a giant hunk of shit”. “Comforser - the rubber that pops!” Personally, I’d take a V8 C6 Allroad on this adventure. The Allroad was the first car based “crossover” to ever complete the Land Rover testing course back in the day.

This cartrek was defenetly better than the last 2-3 series. But you're still missing some filling in the episode. No one wants so see cars doing well on paved roads. But i understand you're on a time and budget constraint.
Next time, how about you try to get cars and participate in somekind of event, like a race or a rally stage or an offroad adventure (a real one).

Wow, this video is RAW. Freddy, so sad to hear your family life is tough right now. Must be a hard balancing act to feed new content to The Machine while at the same time dealing with home issues. Please focus on YOU for as long as you need to, and know that your ardent fans will be here for you when you get back to it. Much love from Canada.
