"He is more dangerous... and effective... than ANY man we have on the field."
I know that line was supposed to be impactful, but... that wooden delivery.
Lmfaaaooo yo I was thinking the same. They could have done better.
prime EU when?
The way that was said was corny 😂
@Exposing The truth 0i 0
The more I read this the more I think about it the FUNNIER this is 😆 omg im in so muxh tears 😢
I read the book many years ago and enjoyed it very much. I recently watched this adaptation. I think if the producers stuck to the original story this would have been a far better movie. I have no issues at all with the cast. All of the actors did well in their roles. My problem is that this script is so far from the source material as to render the movie unbelievable, more expensive, and far less entertaining than it would have been if they just stuck to the cannon. And please don't make this into a color thing. As I stated, the casting is fine. The creators blew it with the really BAD story that has nothing to do with the book.
CENTRIFUGE!!!! IT'S CENTRIFUGE!
Killing his team, turns out it's the gov. That's Centrifuge by J.C. Pollock.
Reading Without Remorse the first time, BLEW MY MIND!!! Using the name John Kelly threw me for a loop! Who is this guy and why is it important to the Ryanverse and then it all falls into place. Not sure I will watch the movie... If I do, it will be without any internal connection to the original book. If you haven't read the book, it is by far one of the best Tom Clancy novels.
@empizzle8 it gets so much better, literally one of my favorite clancy books
This movie was so far removed from the book it should have been it's own thing with a different title. Nothing about this movie was Without Remorse. Seriously, this was the worst Clancy adaptation yet.
Thanks for the suggestion, I just picked the book up on this recommendation and like the few pages I've read so far.
By just watching the trailer, I'm in the state of remorse already.
@aryan sharma you cannot have a life in that line of work. he knew the risks. ever action, good or bad, has consequences. you cant just turn it off and come home to your family like the enemy wont come after you.
It was so bad. I really wanted to like this. I can't even blame the bad acting as the writing was trash. Even the easter egg in the credits was just so cliche. Embarrassing.
This dude only comes in those generic cringe action movies. The moment I saw him I was in a state of remorse yeah
Agreed. There is very little there that was similar in any way to the source material, aside from Kelly's codename, "John Clark."
I'm actually livid right now.
Hahahahahahahahahaha
I’ve been saying they need to make a movie of this book for YEARS. I take it back
An actual film of the book would be awesome...For some reason every leading man these days has to be Black.
@H Without A Name They'll find a way to F up that adaptation too I'll bet. The R6 novel is actually really good but knowing the movie studios they'll do something stupid and try to make it like Rainbow Six Siege with little story.
It's like they told the writers to come up with the most cliche, derivative script possible. Painful to watch.
Agreed. This was a shameful and lazy adaptation of a fantastic book. It should have been made into a 6 or 8 hour mini-series.
Yeah, its obviously a generic action movie fuckfest. So sad they took Tom Clancy's content, he would turn in his grave if he saw this. Jesus.
Although I'm excited for this because I freaking love Michael B. Jordan and the action looks dope, I was a bit thrown off by the very last scene in this trailer. I don't care how badass and professional you are, getting into a vehicle COMPLETELY engulfed in flames is very stupid. I mean, if you're trying to save a person that is trapped inside a burning car I get it; especially if it's someone you love. But as an intimidation tactic it's excessively exaggerated. Still watching the movie though.
"He is more dangerous and effective than ANY man we have on the field." Her execution was DRY AF!! Ruined the line.
Should've at least had a random russian guy say it
@Duke of Damage well played?
@stitches g I mean the original poster is probably racist and doesn't like the fact the actress is black.
Clancy's original book was one of his best, providing background and insight on John Clark (Kelly) taking the reader on a ride from his life as a retired SEAL to a chance encounter with the young prostitute he befriends to exacting revenge on the dope dealers who nearly kill him and tortured and murdered her; fast paced, enjoyable & thoroughly engrossing.
The only thing about this movie that even vaguely resembles the book is the title & names of several of the characters. The plot is more akin to a recap of Clancy Spec Ops events drawn from other books and involving intrigue with the government, the Russians and Jon Ritter from Clear & Present Danger with no adherence to the original story. Impossible battle scenes (with one ending ala Luc Besson's "Leon") with character development, dialogue and acting straight out of a WWE match.
Evidently this is the jumping off point for future Amazon-Clancy novels to movies but if they are anything like this waste of time that capitalizes on the original novel's success while substituting the plot, story line and characters with a plethora of "B" movie action scenes that have nothing to do with the original , I can only hope that the end of the world precedes their release.
This film is simply amazing. It kept me on the edge of my seat from the time it started until it ended. I loved it and it reminded so much on how corrupt political systems are in every country and care nothing about the people risking their lives everyday.
I wanted to like this. I mean this is Wallace from The Wire we're talking about. But the dialogue was so cliche. I feel like I've seen this movie 100x already.
@mogreen19 will do, thanks for the suggestion
The movie really sucks, you should read the book. So much better.
"He is more dangerous... and effective... than ANY man we have on the field. He once killed 3 mens using Pencil, a fookin Pencil."
@Marco Ingraham joker
@Speed Racer Could/would/should have ... ''dvmbcvnt''.
Who can fuckn do that??
i aint the only one that thought of John Wick
🤦🏽♂️🤦🏽♂️🙄🙄😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
I guarantee there’s a twist that turns out that it wasn’t terrorists or an outside force that killed his wife and it was probably his own agency doing it to motivate him and turn him into a better weapon
Spoiler alert: Very close. The government did it to put two nations against each other to start a war. What’s the government without war right.
Can only tell the truth so many ways lol 😂
I’m assuming Guy (why do you keep taking these exact same roles you are so much better than this) Pearce is the head honcho in said backstabbing agency...
Can never trust a govt with guy Pearce in it
Hahah spot on
*This is a Michael b jordan movie*
Yes
Yea
Your powers of observation continue to serve you well.
No shrap Sherlock
Are you serious
“Based on a rewritten synopsis of a Tom Clancy book we didn’t bother to read”
Edit: I’m saying the filmmakers didn’t bother to read the book. I read it and it was good, but this looks completely different.
@larry snipes Which is sad because they could just, you know, make the actual book a movie and make money too.
Yep your right! This looks nothing like the book and the book was absolutely excellent one of Clancy's best I think. They are just using Clancy's name and the title of the book's name to make money.
@Charles Smith Only two Clark books I've read were Rainbow Six and Without Remorse. Though he appeared in the Op-Center books occasionally too. Read those as a teen forever ago lol. Closest thing to Y-A reading he's going to get I think. lol~ But I got into it because of the game Rainbow Six, where you got to plan missions with Ding Chavez, Eddie Price and Clark did the mission briefings. The Book was huge and dramatic, and spoke of a plot to release a virus to end the world in the 2020 Olympics in Japan. Yeah Clancy had a way of foreseeing things, not always accurately, but creepy enough. lol
@Krystal Myth lmao yea John Clark is superior to Jack Ryan imo as far as badassery and entertainment. I think I'm gonna finish Clark books then give Jack Reacher a try
@Charles Smith Ill stick to the Harrison Ford films I'm afraid. :) Hehe.
Man, I loved the movie. 10/10 for me
Read the book. It's ten times better and you'll see why Clancy fans are pissed they didn't adapt it properly at all.
I've read this book two or three times in my life and loved it! A little skeptical of this remake but I will say this!! Did anyone notice that scene with him on the water on that motor craft? Definitely a tribute to the actual book as that happened in the book, ha!
That was about the one thing that they actually DID adapt from the book. This movie was such garbage and complete disgrace to the source material.
Brilliant performance. Yes, he deserves an Oscar, but they need his permission to speak!
we need more R rated stuff like Jack Ryan and this
@Joseph Shaw No he isn't. I wonder how Hollywood would have reacted if Tom Cruise played Kunta Kinte.
How come Amazon prime video ( only 7.99 Euro in EU per month ) is more low priced than Netflix?
I got Amazon Prime video since 1 week, Ive been using Netflix since 1 year and now since 1 week I realized that all the new movies like Parasite, Knives Out, F&F Hobbs and Shaw, Sonic, The Gentleman, 21 bridges, Gun Akimbo, prince of zamunda 2 and and and come way earlier on Amazon Prime video than Netflix.
Movies like this usually come out 2 years later on Netflix. Netflix has some pretty solid originals though, but Prime video seems to be releasing newer movies way earlier and has a much bigger library.
I mean if I would rent a movie like parasite or The gentleman from the internet I would usually pay 4$ just for 2 days, so Im kinda surprised that the monthly fee for prime video is only 7.99 Euros.
@City_Smog8 in the original story the main character is white
@Gentleman Murk I hope you're trolling
THANK YOU! I've actually not watched "popular" action films, where people get shot or killed etc. but then find out it PG-13.
Like, c'mon, if you're gonna do a film about killing, at least make it realistic! and bloody, like John Wick for example.
Or maybe that's just me...
(Marvel is an exception though)
These type of movies never get old
I've never read the book but it was pretty badass. The prison scene A+
The book is so much better then this generic piece of crap movie that has nothing to do with the source material it adapted. They literally just made this to get to the Rainbow Six movie they really want to make which will undoubtedly be even further removed from the source material than this was.
Beast Movie Great performance by Micheal B Jordan!
I've read about 8 Tom Clancy novels. The best three for me were, Hunt for Red October - Clear and Present Danger - Red Storm Rising. Thank you Clancy for a wonderful time in stories in my peaceful time. I was very grateful for you work. You for sure created a LEGACY.
Action movie 101:
“He’s the most dangerous person ever”
@rooftopkilroy Oh, I don't know that.
He's so dangerous, he doesn't even look at explosions when he walks away
🔥
How you're having action if the Mc isn't skilled
John wick is
This movie has been done a billion times before and yet I'm still going to watch it....
@HML367 ehh the quality of movies is so "uninspiring" these days
@HML367 not really it wasn’t that bad at all, wasn’t great but didn’t suck
You're wasting your time.
Support a black leading man.. That's why I go
This is amazing action movie just now watched it on Amazon prime really wonderful ❤💪
Michael B Jordan absolutely embodied this role. This was a great movie. Well Done MBJ!!!
@Hold Guard personally I read books for education or edutainment I watch movies for pure entertainment
READ
THE
BOOK
A book I have read at least 4 times and listened to the audio version is finally a movie, I will never go out of my way to watch.
I read the book multiple times myself. Such a great story. This movie... not so much. I donated my complete original Clancy Ryanverse series to the local library. Now I wish I hadn’t.
I can’t recall the what the real Thomas Clay character did in the novels. Can you do me a solid and remind me please?
Granted, it is very different from the book but it still looks badass
Just watch the movie, you will regret if you don't. The thrill is amazing.
A different adaptation, but still the birth of John Clark. It was 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Just watched this again, after reading the book for the 5th time, one of my favorites my Clancy.
The Movie should have had a different name, the book is still better by far. Hopefully someone makes a movie one day!
"You would be suprised to see what a man can do when you take away everything from him."
But could they at least have left him a half decent script?
@Maria Melendrez this story was not written in the 90s, the book was, but this movie and the new spin on the story is edgy trash.
@Maria Melendrez except this movie looks nothing like what was written
who ever did the casting did a bad job. But Michael B Jordan held his own. good action flick
If we have more Navy Seals like that, our enemies would be extremely hesitant in attacking us. Sometimes you have to show people that you're nothing to be played with.
MBJ is the new equalizer I’m so pumped great actor and an awesome franchise in Tom Clancy. Denzel still my favorite actor and hopefully we get an equalizer 3 but MBJ gonna kill this movie.
Edit: never read the books just talking about the video game franchise. Aside from ppl saying it got nothing to do with the book It still looks sick.
Acabei de assistir, o filme é animal!!!
This looks awesome! But I totally laughed out loud at the “You better hope he doesn’t survive...” line.
I think that was aimed at the audience, if he survives this is going to last a lot longer then anyone would wish. Frantically flicks through the book trying to find the relevant bit
@The Latest & Greatest well I haven't seen the actress in the full role yet so hopefully the rest of her role wasn't as bad in the rest of the movie lol
@Gracialon Ignasiver Ted Sutton would've been able to pull it off.
Looking forward to watching this 🔥🔥🔥
Seeing that nobody here is sharing a review of the movie for the ones here to find out if it's worth it, I'll say I'm 20 minutes in and it's worth it so far.. I digg it..
Thank you.
Just watched the movie and it’s alright. It’s not bad, but it’s definitely not as good as I expected it to be.
I’d rate it a 5/10
Just watched this movie 🔥🔥🔥🔥
I can't wait!!!
I always pictured an older, burly, white guy. A Mel Gibson type. But I guess it depends on what part of his life we're focusing on. This looks really good, and Michael B. Jordan has the physical presence and characteristics to pull it off perfectly. I'm excited.
“ WITHOUT REMORSE “ CRAZY GOOD Clip !!! This is a must see movie 🎥🍿.
Clip-Share has allowed me to play a
couple clips. I’ve tried sharing the clips.
I’ve tried sharing it with all of my subscribers. I’m sure they’ll love it as
well. Jordan’s work was phenomenal.
Thank you ♥️👏👏👏
Just watched it. It’s actually pretty good. Extremely violent lol
It’s a straight forward 90’s esc film.
I loved the hints
I absolutely loved it
I've been waiting impatiently for this to become a movie since I read it as a kid, in the 90s.
This ain't it.
Its an awesome book I have no idea why they cast a Black man in the lead role though because John Clark is White.....Oh I answered my own question there.
It's a tragedy and such a waste
yep, how does amazon not have the money to make this and market it on Michael B Jordan's name while separately making an actual Without Remorse?
Exactly. I'm actually pretty upset about this
I feel bad, my husband and I couldn’t even finish the movie🤷🏾♀️
amazing movie need sequel
"He is more dangerous and effective than ANY man we have on the field." Her execution was DRY AF!! Ruined the line.
@Th3Snipe who are you referring to?
Hahha John wick was and still Is the king 🤴
Jason Bourne and John Wick are pretty pissed their line is stolen. 😂😂😂😂
whole movie is like this
Ong
Read this book a few times because the character John Kelly later John Clarke was complex and brutally ruthless in his revenge (dive chamber scene). I have a bad feeling that this is going to be so far from the book that it will flop. If they keep it realistic and stick to the story then it will become a classic like Patriot games. I hope its awesome but we will see
Can we expect a future crossover with John Krasinski's Jack Ryan? After all, John Kelly is really John Clark and both characters are instrumental down the line in the Tom Clancy narrative.
@Tristan Backup I just watch it, this was a bad film. Steven Segal made better films. WHATEVER happen to good writing and well coordinated action films. Tom Clancy must be rolling in his grave
I just want to see two of my favourite characters, Sam & Scott.
@Menga 🤣🤣🤣 never that but I think you are. Look how y'all acting because the character's color changed.
@Campbellzilla I am sorry you don't support creativity. If you want to continue to support thieves this is your choice. If you enjoy regurgitation and repetition of material this is your choice. Be a puppet, I love and thrive for new innovated ideas. I am not concern about fulfilling my political ego.
@dupp2424 I think your jealous of white success and there original content.
Does this mean we’ll actually get Clark in the Jack Ryan show?
Ah great another army guy that takes revenge for family. So original and exactly what we needed. Just watching old movies now.
So they've brought it up to date, I can go with that considering the story in the book takes place in the 70's. They need to tie it into the Jack Ryan series somehow though, then I think they have something.
The car fire interrogation at the end had me slightly intrigued... but yes, we've all seen this movie. Many. Many. Times.
Takeway from these movies: Never be a an elite soldier/agent. Cause they gonna take away everything from you at some point.
@robby lebotha Sorry sir, but I didn't get what you were trying to say.
@aryan sharma you're absolutely right. What about poor Vladimir who's only a henchman because he couldn't find any other job during lockdown. Now he's dead because he was just guarding a door.
This man is just pure evil
What about the Russians soldiers he killed during that scene in the building ?? Although he lost his wife and daughter, but even he took a lot more lives and destroyed many families. I can't justify this, If anyone can please let me know.
You always have to just one more job.
Are we just going to ignore the fact this guy literally opened a car door ON FIRE with his bare hand
@Spider Rocket in Fact Smart People are Gonna Ignore The Whole Movie.
Yes yes we are.
I have been saying that this would make a great movie ever since I read it in 9th grade. 27 years ago. It’s about time!
It would have helped if they hadn't changed literally the entire plot.
They should’ve had the Allstate guy or Lance Riddick give that “more dangerous and effective than any man we have in the field ” line
And the award for the movie that HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THE BOOK award goes to this. No wonder Tom Clancy hated every movie made from his books.
At least he doesn't see what they're doing to video games based on his books now...
FR
@WOThrottle Dafoe was a horrible John Clark in another awful attempt making a Clancy book I to a movie, albeit not as bad as this one
@Raylan Givens I agree, but too old.
God so true. Without remorse was my favorite Clancy book. Why do they have to change the story to make it less interesting in these movies. Clear a present danger was the same way just not quite this bad.
im still waiting for an action movie where the protagonist is living a happy life...they always lose everything which is becoming too much of a cliche
The beginning of this book said "Beware the wrath of a patient man," but this commercial seems to have a completely different vibe than the book I read back in the 90s.
It looks to be balls-out action, when the book mostly was active in the city... and then, it was of the slow-burn variety. Only when John gets to 'Nam does the tempo quicken.
Correction. It says “Beware the fury of a patient man.” -John Dryden
Okay I’m getting Amazon prime 🤣🔥
I feel like I've seen this movie dozens of times before.
@cough pillbox there are more original movies out there, you know
Honestly the book this is based if Is way better then this shot
A huge yawn from me too. Can we get anything original anymore? :(
@Jay Fox, Jr. yes. this is a very unoriginal plot
It's almost every action movie cliche at this point.
I cannot wait for this movie!!
show de bola !!!!!!!
Just imagine if they had actually followed the plot of the book....
Bru when it comes to action movies there is something about Micheal B Jordan I can’t take seriously 😂
Wow, what a entertaining thriller! Tight script, great cast, and amazing effects and gun battles! Well done Amazon Studio!
The book actually has a more colder plot. The books plot was more r rated so kind of disappointing they didn't follow it. It was an excellent book
@Air Quotes the really short version, which is what the movie is based on, is a badass seal kills a bunch of people without remorse. The Clark/Kelly from the book didnt need moronic statements about how badass he was, unlike the movie. He is a multifaceted character in the book, and the book makes the reader connect with John through his trials and tribulations. Ending happily with the Clark we know later who is married to Cathy.
@Air Quotes without giving away too much, its a bit like the Punisher. Clark basically goes on a killing spree to avenge his girlfriend but the villains are a cruel crime syndicate....its fairly dark. At the same time he's recruited for a black ops mission.
What actually happens in the book?
@lee false advertising is offensive... piggybacking is offensive... and both deserve to be cancelled... ironically unironic...
Probably because the internet would try to “cancel" it for being too “offensive”
Apart from there being a female SEAL I was pleasantly surprised.
This looks less Tom Clancy and more “trying too hard” ..... fingers crossed because Clarke is an excellent character.
What about this has anything to do with Tom Clancy's Without Remorse?
Felt like the script writer heard someone talking to someone else about the book and all they caught was; 'There's a really dark character called John Kelly and he wants revenge'...
As a standalone movie it would have been fine. As a movie based on a book I really enjoyed, it's fucking trash.
I read the book and Tom Clancy's books (God rest his soul) are fifty times better than any movie based on them.
This movie was full of ACTION!!! I enjoyed it! John was NOT playing with NONE OF THEM!
Without Remorse was one of the best books I've ever read. Changing the story, and time setting was a mistake. Should have been set in the 70s, with Vietnam coming to an end. Could have been a great movie. But not this way.
@Raylan Givens
Thanks, I'll look to reading that. The story line seemed really good. I know Hollywood takes liberties, but that was a bit much.
@T.B. Player Obviously not. The book was good and fairly realistic. Also the Russians weren't the villains.
Did the book have a skinny woman as Lt. Commander of a SEaL team? One who kills Russian Special Forces guys in hand to hand combat?
This movie kind of reminded me of “Good Guys Wear Black” story
And it would still be somewhat relevant because Iraq and Afghanistan are modern Vietnam’s.
I cant stop laughing at that one part when they said .... 😆🤣
Highly recommend the book to anyone thats interested in this movie, id say after reading it though the movie will no doubt be a bit disapointing, ill still see it though
Оказывается, что к человеку с автоматом можно просто подбежать и отобрать у него автомат если ты герой этого фильма. Даже боты на легком уровне сложности умнее.
Movie looks badass
My favorite Tom Clancy Novel. Surprised by the casting but it doesn't matter this book was fucking sick. He goes on a rampage.
I prefer to watch what I like! I hope the film doesn't disappoint me.
Quando sai o lançamento ?
Just done watching, it was really good.
It’s quite annoying seeing all the comments about the book and it being different and not following the books plot. Clearly it’s an adaptation that takes different pieces from the book and to be honest we haven’t even seen enough footage for anyone to be hating on this. I like MBJ his work is stellar and this will be a solid movie IMO very excited!
I love how the car catches on fire at 1:39 on both the front and back end instantly from him throwing a lighter.
Nice thing to live in a country where cinemas are closed and the movie isn’t available on prime because they want to show it first in cinema. Well done Amazon.
awesome movie 10/10
Did the movie producers actually read the book or just look at the title on the cover?
@Carl Jacobus This had nothing to do with the book at all. They took the title, some character names and that's it. It was all just a setup to get to their likely equally shitty Rainbow Six film that they'll find some way to screw up too.
@DarkStorm Productions shes actually Greer's niece in this movie,or so I've heard in the dialog.
@DarkStorm Productions Karen Bowman?Isn't she still in Bolivia?
@Rickard Shen Emmet Ryan is in the book.
@DarkStorm Productions Jack Ryan isn't in the book, so at least they got that right. Without Remorse is a prequel to the Jack Ryan series, and intended as an origin story for John Clark. Unfortunately about the only thing they seem to have gotten right is that John's real surname is Kelly. Since this movie doesn't seem to have any connection to the book whatsoever, I don't see the point of watching it.
Can’t wait 😜🤞🏾
Very good movie, actor and action!!!!
The character John Kelly in the book was born in Indianapolis to Irish American Catholic parents. His father, Timothy Kelly, was a fireman who perished from a heart attack during a fire. John lost his mother to cancer when he was a young boy. He attended Brebeuf Jesuit Preparatory School in Indianapolis.
I wonder how Hollywood would have reacted if Tom Cruise played Kunta Kinte.
😂😂😂😂😂
wtf 😂
Stop releasing trailers a month before the movie comes out, it's bad marketing. No one is gonna hear of this movie unfortunately, even though it looks good.
Definitely a punisher type who relentless in won't stop until the mission complete.
@Blue Gangsta you ever see the boys?
@Max10hoop I don’t think it gets more brutal than Frank Castle lol
Kind of. The book is a bit more interesting than that, sadly this looks very little like it.
Honestly I have no problem that they made the irish-american John Kelly black. I do have a problem that according to this trailer the only thing they got the from the book was it's name and the name of few of it's characters.
Michael B. Jordan: "Give me a name"
Man: "Joe"
Michael B. Jordan: "Who's Joe"
Man: "Joe Mama"
@HercKomerc candice what? 😏
😂😂😂
bro really?
I hear it a lot But , can you explain me what is joe mama ??
gave the name then burned like chicken mama 😭
FROM JUST MERCY TO NO REMORSE
Movie is TUFF 🔥
Welcome to the comment section, here you can find either people who loved the trailer and have no idea this is based off the book, and the people who have read the book and are rightfully angry.
This is like John Wick but in a opposite universe
Even though I have never read a Tom Clancy novel, but the movies based on his novels are always entertaining to watch.
@Evil Fingers I have read the book several times and it is really good, I watched the movie and it really sucks and has absolutely nothing to do with the original story and leaves out all the good parts.
@mogreen19 you go read the book, I'm gonna watch it.
This movie is utter BS. Read the book.
