I think shopping is not a 'good' experience for him as it's a reminder of his condition. Going to a shop with adult size shoes lining the walls and hearing time and time again 'oh theyre too big' is probably something he is far too familiar with hearing. I think there’s a lot of factors here. The way he’s being treated, his religion has A LOT of boundaries that he can’t cross, he blew up quickly and taking him out of his comfort zone and moving him around might be exhausting both physically and mentally for him.
