chargela did better than me on my first try
lasted longer than I did 😥
is there a colab incoming with those dirty australian slot machines?
I knew I would not be the only one with this mind after seeing chargla in action
Maybe chargla needed some music?
And last ;)
I love that she took a 4 year break, and STILL finished her truck before Tesla released the Cybertruck.
She could’ve taken 10 years and still would have beaten Tesla
@an username her unexistsnt great great children could do it and still would beat Tesla.
There's a difference between concept and mass producing for hundred thousands person
Lol underrated comment
@sucram But also a difference between a single garage engineer and an industry-leading corporation
*It's nice to see that Simone finally got Truckla a soul mate.*
Wanted to give this a like but saw 420 likes and decided against it
Instantly ruined lol
@David Richards *Elon would be proud.*
@David Richards More like 34.
I think they're just friends with benefits.
The fact it has been 4 years hit me way too hard, wtf.
time waits for no man
or woman
or trans
I like when content creators do follow up videos on their projects, well done!
That's all really cool and pretty exciting, but the it can not be overstated how funny it looks seeing Chargla "anxiously and nervously" approach the Truckla port
Haha, right?
yeah, then she NPCs the Tesla mantra now.
Don't worry Chargela, the first time is always awkward!
Imagine three people and a dog watching you on your first time? Talk about performance anxiety 😮
okay you win the internet for today I'm dead 🤣🤣
I call myself experienced and it seemed elegant to me
Am I the only one who heard the Turtle and the Croc audio, during that portion of the video? I think they should add a speaker...
you always remember your first
So happy to see Truckla getting more love and care! Also, Chargela is adorable. Needs some googly eyes.
I think both do :D
Absolutely true
And lube?
"Picking up the broken promises of the car world." Nailed it.
I love Truckla. It would be nice to see any auto company release such a small truck in America today. They do get made & sold for SE Asia and other areas. Dozens of hours into a prototype charger that saves 5 seconds per day. Anyone can build a prototype. Mass production is hard. I wonder who said that?
I like how Chargela's design is inspired by nature in the way it, uh, makes sure there is a solid connection. Also Truckla is a sweet mod.
Would have liked to see more footage of the upgrades and body work to truckla, but chargela is pretty cool too!
ok
Thank you, yes. Awkward jokes, a prototype charger that doesn't save any time, but no discussion of what even went into the upgrades & body work. So weird.
Just saw the short wherein an Attenborough-esqe voiceover narrates the Chargela "docking" sequence. On top of Truckla's/Chargela's existence, I'd just like to thank Simone for listening to the fans and bringing this wonderful bit of Clip-Share gold to reality. It's really made my day!
🖊️🖊️🖊️🖊️🖊️
The charger dry humping the Truckla wasn't the least bit awkward. 🥺
oof eef oof eef... like that turtle video.
This is the clip u all looking for :
clip-share.net/video/TlBi_ZwmSWA/video.html
Oh, not at all.
I came here to post a similar comment 😂
I was having flashbacks from my honeymoon..😳
I can’t believe you guys made truckla in 2018, that feels like so long ago! Glad to see she’s still holding up 🙂.
No lie I think your videos are the reason I’m gonna give electrical work a try as a career.
I love how cute you make everything! Feels like such a wholesome engineering and mechanical and woodworking corner of Clip-Share that even I, the complete opposite of all of those, enjoys watching every time 🥰🥰
Truckla and Chargela are the very definition of ingenuity of a few people vs hundreds of engineers and designers fighting with each other. Amazing work as always Simone.
I have never really been that impressed with the look of Tesla vehicles. But I absolutely adore the Truckla! Simone, thank you very much for this updated video. That tailgate rocks!
Must have been a lot of pressure for Chargela to have his first time on camera... ;-) -Daven
It's _Love, Actually._
I know........ And not a single Barry White CD around when he needed it ! :D
@Reman1975 Absolutely would have worked much smoother is it started playing Can't Get Enough Of Your Love Baby before approaching.
Performance anxiety. 😟
Truckla is looking great, and chargela did amazing under pressure!
I think chargela might benefit from a lower jerk (smoother acceleration) motion profile. Because of the very top heavy design, any large *changes* in acceleration (ie jerk) is very much seen in the disjointed mass. By reducing your jerk and slowly ramping up that acceleration, the sudden change up top is not as strongly felt, and will make positioning easier and the whole robot safer from tipping!
It's faster to plug your own car in when you get home. Okay, maybe if you walk away you're saving 5 seconds while Chargela takes 30 seconds to plug in. But what if it misses? This is probably why Tesla never went anywhere after making their own prototype. Mass manufacturing takes effort. And what's the market for a $3k robot that saves you no time over a $300 wall charger?
@Nathan DuPhene plugging in the charger by yourself would not make an engaging Clip-Share video. It's ok to have fun for fun's sake.
So glad Truckla is still going strong and getting the attention she deserves. And also a big shout-out for inspiring Xyla to make her latest video about her IUD woes 🤗Okay Byeeee

Feeling a lot more confident about myself after seeing Chargela 😌
Same. My work looks less shitty lol
I've been wondering about truckla, I'm so happy for her, she met her soul mate with chargela 🥰 I wish them both many happy years together ❤
Chargla is the closest robot I've seen in demeanor to the fire extinguisher bot from Iron Man
honestly the team watching the charger slowly approach and make contact with Truckla felt like zookeepers watching two almost-extinct animals copulate successfully for the first time
Exactly my thought! 😂
Perfectly described 😂😂
Definitely had a dog humping a leg vibe.
You just read my mind 😂😂
😂
Watching Simeone watch Chargela approach Truckla was like witnessing a parent watch her child take their first steps.
Will Truckla eventually have the roof rack optional instead of a "please don't bend in half" reinforcement?
One of the most unique and creative channels that I've come across. Nice work!
This sparks joy.
Chargla still needs some balancing since it still looks a litte top- and front-heavy BUT i've seen other attempts from big companies not looking that good in later stages of development. So: Two thumbs up!
Watching the team watching first contact while not making eye contact was EPIC. I hope off camera one of Simone's friends puts a mannequin top on it. 😆
🖊️🖊️🖊️🖊️🖊️
Truckla is amazing.
Chargela was inlove with her
Don't let this guy near her - he says it's just for a review but you wont get her back
Why doesn’t this have more likes
High praise from JerryRig 😮 Truckla will always have a special place in my heart. You both look great!❤
@1403gavin because not that many people have clicked on the 'thump up' icon
She sounds more functional than many many working pickups I know of, lol.
Including my own tbh
How? Or did they break down?
Report these spam bots! Look at the freaking user name!
@Nathan DuPhene look at the pfp more like
I'm so happy I get to see this project again. After all these years.
This is as awesome as I expected it to be, and then some. Also: I hope you are taking good care of your you, Simone. You seem down or tired, both of which are legit ways to be for a billion reasons, only they make me want to send a friend robot to give you a hug (which I am myself too tired and ill to do). You are an important natural resource and deserve care and good stewardship.
I would love to see more of track class. Keep up the great work girl you’re doing great.
Tip for the bedliner: go with a spray in! They’re (obviously) much easier to fit into a custom build like that.
It's impossible to mistake just how hard Simone is struggling not to make a double entendre while Chargla spent a minute or two trying to orient itself the first time at 7:50
The first time is often embarassing.
*Link to the clip : Why he's leaving Clip-Share*

Coupling is the correct engineering term. 😊
*_I love her general awkwardness, so cute!_*
She has come along way from saying something inappropriate and losing a sponsor lol
Thanks for the update 👊 I totally lost it at the thrusting 😂
I found myself wondering recently if truckla ever got waterproofing done. I was worried this would be a memorial video where she'd dissolved into rust or stopped being used to avoid the rusty leaky death. I'm delighted to hear of her health.
This video was so hilarious! You guys watching chargela work for the first time was too funny!
Since both Truckla and Chargela are custom - it would be easier to add a ring around the port to latch onto. With correct geometry and a bit of free rotation for the charger, it would even align itself correctly before pushing in.
I am glad to see an update on the truck. I honestly like the looks of your truck over the "upcoming" Tesla made truck. I find that a bit odd looking (and I love odd looking vehicles like the 86-91 Taurus/Sable and the Pontiac Aztek). But I am curious about the robotic charger. What is the point? I feel this is a solution to a non existent problem. It is not that hard to charge an EV now (step 1- open vehicle charging door, step 2- remove charge cable from cradle, step 3 - plug charger into vehicle, step 4 - remove cable and replace cable on cradle and step 5 - close charger door. But it was nice to see how this thing gets developed.
On behalf of my daughter trying to make her way in the world... thanks. She has just decided to become a bio-engineer. Not really related to what you do except for the fact that she calls you a bad-ass and is inspired to be a bad-ass too.
Give your daughter a high five for me.
glorious as all kids are
the bog i can't see the problem, sounds amazing to me
That's the dream! Inspiring kids, particularly young women! Woot!
Your Truckla never ceases to amaze and inspire. Super impressive. Thanks for sharing 🙃
Truckla looks so amazing! and scraps's little coat is so adorable
Youre awesome! Thank you for sharing your work and progress!!!
Thanks for this update on this major project. I love when creators and artists update us on their projects, builds, and pieces of art and show us how they are doing / working out so many years later. It really informs us if it is worth all of the work, but more importantly financial cost of a project like these.
Did you consider using a small electromagnet (like from an electric door latch) on Chargela to give it a higher-up leverage point against the car from which to push in the plug?
Simone crossing the street with the charging robot gives me "crazy bag lady with a time machine" energy
That phrase nearly killed me! I was drinking lemonade when I read it.
"What year is it? I've gone too far!"
Like a cross between Katarina Jones & Jennifer Goines from the 12 Monkeys TV series! And I mean that as a compliment to Simone!
Would you believe that wouldn't even make the top 5 weirdest things I've seen in Manhattan?
Is that from that movie starring Suge Smith?!? 😂
I still love that you took Truckla to the Cybertruck event
You scored coolness points with Truckla's concept and build 4 years ago! Can only add to them now.
Love it!!! That vehicle looks so sweet!
It's nice to see two projects come together
🖊️🖊️.
I'm glad to see that Truckla is still around🚗. It's great that Truckla got built to 100%👍🏽😀!
Very fun.
It is!
That's what she (truckla) said
Truckla’s license plate says “Chz Louise”? That is absolutely perfect. 🤩
Chargela really put some thrusting action into that. It might need some more traction on those wheels.
I love open source projects. Thank you!
This is consistently one of my favorite channels on Clip-Share
Scraps is so cute! I have a tripod, too, and she's wonderful 🐕 ❤️
That tailgate is seriously impressive. Well done and awesome job building a one-of-a-kind functional truck!
I put my hamster in a socket and slammed it against the furniture
Impressive, but also illegal lol. Can't have tail lights on a moving portion of the rear of the car (tailgate/trunk,etc)
@Mr. Bennett I think the turn signals and break lights are still stationary on either side of that tail gate. The only lights that are attached to the tailgate would be the reverse lights. If those have to remain stationary as well, auxiliary reverse lights could be integrated into the bumper fairly easily.
@Mr. Bennett
"Can't have tail lights on a moving portion..."
Actually you can, but they can't be the only ones. There would have to be a set on a non-moving portion.
Source: look at the back of a Kia Sportage, and many other hatchback vehicles.
ok
Thanks for the update!
Would a magsafe style alignment approach work for chargela? Eliminate the connector insertion displacement, use something like pogo pins.
still such a great project!! We are proud to be a part of it :) greetings from Germany :)
Very nice. Yeah today it should be pretty easy to make robotic plugin and they'll need automatic for the robotaxis. But I think the coolest solution will be wireless charging so you never need a plug. Apparently it can be done with high efficiency.
Nice update video, that ending somehow is perfect for your channel. Actually finishing projects is always hard, got some issues with that myself those last details that are at times important too (like waterproofing) are worth getting done as tedious as they might be. Would've been absolutely essential here where I live but I guess in LA it can wait.... a few years.
I must admit I was slightly disappointed in the tailgate not being automatic in its opening and closing, but it certainly looks sturdy and functional.
I'm not sure how I'd describe that scene when observing the charger trying to do its thing for the first time, be wary of rogue teslas getting near chargela though! They might want to steal some free electricity.
🖊️🖊️..
I have missed Truckla. I’m glad she is finally getting water proofed. She is too cool to not be fully living up to her potential.
I love your videos! Keep them coming!
Great to see you got Truckla upgraded and use it all the time. It seemed like a lot of work to build and we have not seen it for years.
Pretty cool, I want to know the back story on how you guys met and all in the sudden decide to build that robot together haha ☺
Chargela is precious and she's just doing her best. We can relate, Chargela.
🖊️🖊️.
Watching Chargla struggle to get it all the way in... we've all been there, man. On one side or the other of the situation.
*cries in having been on both sides of that situation*
Truckla: Is it in yet?
looks like chargla isn't the type who stays overnight
@Tess Duursma F
Awesome final product on Truckla. Great video Simone :)
Has Simone or others talked about how you make a custom vehicle road legal? I imagine the regulations vary wildly? Any links or things I can google search would be appreciated!
I like the intro, where Simone describes every project car I've ever had.
Watching y'all watch the robot hump the car... Gold. Great job on both Truckla and Chargela.
you never disappoint. you are awesome.
This is still one of my favorite car builds ever. Close second to Tavarish’s McLaren build. Truckla looks SO GOOD!!
Totally admire your work and passion. I wonder how Elon musk feels about it. The fact that he has not shown interest in building a a truck makes me think 😉
Chargla needs bigger wheels for better grip and more torque also maybe a wider base to stop it trying to tip over. I was concerned how close to the paintwork it got so maybe extending the arm further away from the unit.
While you were listing off all the issues, all I could think was that it sounds pretty much like a late 80s Ford pick-up my Dad had.
You FINISHIED TRUCKLA!!!!!!!
So happy to see that Truckla is still up and running.
Thank you for this Truckla update. I have been wondering about the state of Truckla and I am glad to see her again.
This is the clip u all looking for :
clip-share.net/video/TlBi_ZwmSWA/video.html
unironically I have been thinking of truckla a lot lately
@Sheeper Skipps Starting to sound like a fractured relationship.
I've been more worried about Simone.
Been waiting on a truckla update- glad everything is still going alright!!
really enjoy the creative thinking, for some very good ends. very well done simone!
Well done! nice to see you were able to figure out how the door shuts when done charging. Nice follow-up.
I'm so happy to see Truvkla again and that she's almost finished.👍They did a fantastic job. Very impressive.
Now you'll be able to really enjoy using it. Maybe we will see Truckla in more videos now. Chargela was hilarious.
I was just thinking the other day, "I wonder what happened to Truckla?" Great timing. Thank for the update, Simone! 🙂
It's the Simone Giertz touch to her videos that make me smile. The leaving slowly for coolness and safety and humor is something many engineers on here would do, but it's Simone that's awesome enough to just nicely and somewhat awkwardly add "I hope you have a good day." Now I'm leaving the video smiling and having a good day. Thanks Simone.
I like how nobody found it strange to see a lady casually walking a robot through the streets
All your Truckla videos are epic 😊.
Cool - I think an adaptor that would allow the charger to screw on would work great.
Similar to a gun's breach or bolt locking lugs.
Then a 1/4 rotation would sinch the plug in with some powerful torque.
Simone, you look good. I was really worried after your brain surgery and it looks like you really recovered well. It took me a long time to say it, but I saw one shot of you in this where you looked like you were just Chill. I hope you're doing as well as you seem.
That tailgate is amazing & I hope small truck like the ranger, maverick, & even short bed f150s, are taking notes
Ps I have always wanted to do this to a Subaru outback
Simone never ever change. You're an inspiration to my girls. Chargler humping wasn't awkward AT ALL. thanks for the update about Phisicsgirl. I hope she recovers soon. Sending love and good vibes for a speedy recovery.
And she's an inspiration to boys as well. In many important and good ways.
Wait, what about physics girl?
@༒Gorm Auslander༒ She's not doing great health-wise. Here's Simone's update on Dianna's channel: clip-share.net/video/vydgkCCXbTA/video.html
@Gunnar Liljas I can only agree, however i only have two girls and they love Simone.
Fantabulous! :-) Never heard of Viam, sounds amazing, indeed.
The drive over induction chargers are promising. In a similar vein, a self-aligning charge arm as you drive into it would be a clean solution.
I think it's easier to put a sensor instead of a camera. like on the things in the shops little stickers with a capacitor and an inductor. The robot will emit an electromagnetic pulse and look for where the return signal is coming from. I would also make the lower part of the robot a bit heavier, with slightly larger wheels and with a more powerful drive at a slower speed.
👏💞👏
Watching Chargela plug itself in is akin to watching rabbits go at it... 🤣
This is awesome!
👍
@Faika Mehmood message me now to claim your prize 💌💌
👍
yes, is awesome🥰🥰🥰
Lower center of gravity, larger wheels. I would like to see it more stable. Plus, v2 should be able to connect from farther away to avoid scratching the paint. Still, majorly awesome and creative. Whoo hoo!🎉❤❤❤😊
