Every day this man drops a video, it’s like watching your favorite player drops 50 points.
🤖
Npc
Everyday? Huh? I love his videos but I'm waiting a week lol I'm sure he's busy but cmon lol
shit 60 even
@WheatieB when he says every day he mean that every time jimmy uploads its like his favorit player droppping 50
“The bum only won one in 21 years” had me choking on my food
Same here man. Man had me wheezing when he said that 🤣
shit was hilarious 😂
@Joseph Leonard mine was when he fucking straight faced calling the 2019 Raptors bums! 😂 shit had me dying!
@The Sniping Spider same 😂. But imagine calling that championship a bum 💀. That raptors was well built and gs just self destructed 💀
Jordan's 63 point game against the #1 ranked Celtics defence in the playoffs is looking pretty crazy right about now. 😅
Even if he lost, no one could stop him.
Jordan always scored more against the best teams in the league. He was really reaching to put him in here as an example to fill his narrative.
Also, the video is incorrect about his 69-point game since it was against the 10th best defense in the league.
Not only that, Boston arguably had the best frontcourt in the history of the game. They also won the chip that same season which speaks VOLUMES about MJ's Goatness. He had 49 in Game 1!!!
@ThrottleVinnieModo Facts, incorrect
"No one in the NBA should celebrate"
Pat Beverly celebrating a play in championship is the greatest celebration I've ever seen.
I don't even watch basketball and this channel always makes me appreciate the sport that much more
same, I knew nothing of the sport until this channel
I don’t understand how you got Charlotte being the worse defensive team in 13/14. I went back and they were 6th in defensive rate per 100, and 7th in defensive rating? Just curious how you got those stats because from my memory this Is the year bobcats made the playoffs based on their defence alone
Jordan dominating the league with a center dominant era has the same vibe as Giannis dominating this era with 3pointers.
this is a valid take that everyone should agree with
Valid
no it doesn't
@allen b.k jacob yes it does mj giving out a 30 piece with 7 footers and Giannis giving out 30 pieces with baby curry’s nobody is saying that Giannis is more dominant but they’re just both goin against the status quo
I guess but at the same time 2 of the 3 best player in the league are centers and the other one is a 7 footer who cant shoot threes.
the thing that annoys me the most about casuals is when they say the league getting soft but the moment someone like booker brings trash talk and starts a rivalry with luka he’s considered soft even tho they want more beef in the game
I couldn't agree more. The players can be playing like its tackle football but the rules don't allow that anymore. Players aren't getting soft, and if anybody thinks they are, its because of the rules
Thank you very much for this video. I'm actually just starting to learn better (and maybe in a cognitive way--I don't even know if that even means anything --hahaha) about the NBA just by watching your videos.
I like listening to you because you have some of the best logical breakdowns. I would like a video on how pure iso teams can’t win championships anymore.
I hate modern sports media and social media as a whole. Everything is about cutting people down instead if celebrating good play and enjoying the game. It's a real problem that extends beyond sports in regards to negativity. Something has to change, society is so judgmental rather than appreciative about almost everything. We are overstimulated.
You can really see the time and effort put into these videos💯
I love this series. Just Jimmy slamming bad takes and lifting up the good ones with facts. Beautiful stuff.
Love your videos too
Love ur vids man
Didn’t expect you to be here
We also love your videos too! Why not try and make something like this for athletics too! Just like the recent hot takes on "USAIN BOLT of this generation" from you know who.
Keep up the good work!
The ring argument I agree with. Life long fan, but little tweaks to the game sorta made the game worse. Not as physical, but today's athletes are in so much better shape than yester years. Science and knowledge progress the games forward.
Rudy Gobert was a good pickup for the Timberwolves. One of the Timberwolves' weaknesses was on defense. He may be having a down year statistically and frustrating to watch at times, but he has still been a top 5-10 defender this year and has stepped up with Karl Towns out. That being said, I still want the team to get this man some serious hands training in the offseason. Get him a WR coach who can teach him to go strong to the ball with his hands, so he doesn't drop so many passes and give up easy buckets.
Kobe is the most overrated player in history there I said it.
Gobert is playing bad, but he is a scapegoat for the real problem- the inherent flaw in building a franchise around KAT. The squad is inconsistent and undisciplined.
I feel like some people that have hot takes don't really take the time to think about what they're saying. Some hot takes are really just somebody's opinions that they feel are facts. That's why I respect Jimmy he really takes the time to explain things in depth. His research skills are impeccable. Salute to you Jimmy much respect.
Love ya work Jimmy. You’re the highlight of my week when I see u dropped a new one. Always quality 🎉
Bron or Kobe or Jordan rarely, you are truly one of the rare greats at what you do, and you’re irreplaceable. Keep at it man. Thx.
My hot take, Muggsy Bogues making it in the NBA in the era he did, while being 5’3 is pound for pound the most impressive achievement in NBA history.
@Triphow in fucks name does steph winning 4 rings make it better than muggsy
@Bill Walker Fr, mans is a whole foot shorter than steph.
@Bill Walker it means he was more successful, so the more “pound for pound” greater achievement, even tho he was bigger, he did more.
I don't really care about basketball that much, but the way you write it and the great stats is something every sports need.
Fuckin jimmy. Every video you make is your best video. Not that every video you make is better than the last, just that every video is so great that you have maxed out the bar every time. I was actually thinking about this earlier, you belong in a top spot on something like espn, but without changing anything. In that I mean they just use the videos you already made, with absolutely no schedule for future episodes, they get them when they get them. That’s what’s special about your channel, you’re not rushing to put out a new vid to meet some pre set schedule, or to cover a news topic that has already been covered on hundreds or thousands of other channels. You’re thorough and unbiased and just straight up honest. I never feel cheated on your titles, and at the end of every video I’m like “fuckin jimmy, nailed it again”. Much like in basketball where we only get players like Bron or Kobe or Jordan rarely, you are truly one of the rare greats at what you do, and you’re irreplaceable. Keep at it man. Thx.
LeBron’s 61 came against the Bobcats in 2013-14. The Bobcats that year has the 5th best defensive rating in the league. So that one you are wrong brodie but good video
Sheeeyit... a milli a day in the view department. Best sports analyst on YT. It's been awesome watching you grow over the years. You always get the best analysis from top tier athletes like yourself. I was so wrong when I thought you'd just watched from the sidelines but Jimmy had bunnnnnnies boy.
When he started sarcastically calling winning teams bums I lost it.😂😂😂
“Jokic is just a seven foot draymond” is crazy💀
😂😂😂😂
Fr😂
That is funny as hell 🤣🤣
Jokic is apparently glorified Ben Simmons with no D according to twitter 😂
It’s true jokic has no bag just a really good fundamental player like Draymond
Long time fan of your show! Idk what to think of your Jokic take though because I can’t think of another single superstar who could’ve carried a team with Facundo Campazzo, Austin Rivers, Bryn Forbes, JaMychal Green, Markus Howard, Davon Reed, Will Barton etc in the rotation as well as Jokic did. Most of these players don’t even play with high minutes anymore some of them aren’t even in the league. It was just not possible to reach the finals with a squad like that. To do so would be wishful thinking
It’s always a good day when Jimmy drops
don't think anyone(aside from that tweet) was saying bron's 4 out of 10 wasn't great to the mj/kobe 3 peats. a lot of what is said is that lebron had to run around joining "superteams" to do so. could be wrong, but that's what i've been getting
We would see more high scoring individual games but most of the time the players are taken out for rest in a blowout. The game typically has to be competitive to go high.
Hot Take: Curry has delivered the most important addition to the game. The 3 shot. That people all around the world want to contribute to their style of play, which makes him, his accomplishments and contributions to the game we watch and love today give him the opportunity to not just be a top 5 player of all time in a few years, but also have a chance to be the GOAT. Am I wrong? If I am, prove me wrong.
Thank you so much for addressing how all big games are against bad teams! That’s all I could think about hearing Dames critics, so I’m glad someone’s talking about it. As soon as I heard that, I swear I just said to myself “wasn’t Mitchell’s game against the Bulls? Why bring this up now?”
Lukas 60 20 10 was against the Knicks who are doing way better than Dallas is
What were the 94 Clippers ranked on D? surprised he didn't mention David's 71 points against them.
forget that. its everybody. that proved to me that ppl out here really hating
Don only got a 70 against the bulls because he did a put back lane violation and the bucket counted and scored more in OT
And I haven’t even watched basketball in damN near a decade. Still don’t miss a Jimmy upload
Just this, I wish there was just 1 or 2 other prominent commentators on the game who approached it the way you do. It's not that I necessarily hate any of the highly paid shit talkers individually, it's just that there's almost no sane, measured, intelligent commentary, and that filters down to fans. Honestly, how many "toddler takes" do you have to suffer through for every remotely accurate one you come across ... thanks man !
I like how people are coming at Dame for scoring 71 on the Rockets
I'd be like, "And can you do it? I don't see you on the court."
6:33 - 7:23 just goes to show how prolific of a scorer James harden was
for 10 years i believed that wilt scored his 100 pt game in an all star game
My take is that the NBA should allow less or shorter timeouts and if needed to allow more timeouts in the last few minutes and less during most of the game
Lmao I hate that MVP fatigue all of a sudden doesn't apply to Jokic...😂
That 89' Cavs team is very underrated, they had so much talent, just ran into MJ
Steph obviously is one of this generations best players otherwise you’d see everyone shooting the shots he does playing the game he does but you don’t there’s so many factors that put him and few others in the best players of this generation
I wanna thank jimmy for blurring these people out. So many internet personalities are super quick to put people on blast in front of hundreds of thousands of people just for bad takes and every time I'm shocked that they aren't aware if the reach they have. Good guy jimmy for sure
Mickey Mouse Disneyfied League nowadays
i‘m actually a football (soccer) fan from europe, but thanks to jimmy i got into basketball as well. Jimmy‘s videos are so high qualitiy its amazing. I always wish someone would do videos like this with football content. Keep it up Jimmy!
Ok now here is a good one. jimmy butler is more of a leader than kd. Not a better player, but closer to being a leader than durant. Butler managed to take his team to the finals and be consistent and competitive, inspiring his teammates with his performance, passion and fighting spirit. As Giannis fan it was hard to watch. Kd may have 2 rings and fmvps but with the best f team ever (regular season record, different season, same players), jimmy make it to the finals with a good but far from super team. As a player i'll take KD any time any day.
@Γιώργος Καπάτος fax
@john davies thanks man. Another one. Stats padding is not about taking one last rebound at the end of a game just to make it 10 so you can have a tp when there is nothing else to do, game is over your team already have won and this tp is one of the reasons. So no, not stats pad. Stats padding to me is a ful play attitude. When you come in the game and only care to get a tp regardless your team winning or loosing. Which more times ends to L.
check out Football Iconic, he does similar stuff for football
Like you said the MVP is a regular season award
As a old fart that watched both MJ and LBJ I can see there is one thing that they have in common. They both played in an era where there was a dynasty team with 70+ wins. The difference is MJ played for one and LBJ played against one
Kobe dropped 60 in his last game that’s crazy
Nothing like grabbing some food, and sitting down to watch some jxmy highroller
“We don’t celebrate that, get that outta here” 😂😂😂😂😂
I love it when Steph takes a 30-foot shot (not because he has to, but because he wants to) and his back is to the rim when it goes in, because he already knew, and was headed back to get on defense.
Mhhhh that took and take Steve C a lot of ongoin train - so he deserve all reputation. On the other hand he fucked up the whole game as teamsport and sign that real athletes no longer needed as long as you repeat one thing long enough. Just pls give us back some physically rules and all theese (i apologize to the mimimiz) giggly guys even cant get a foot on the court ^^
@Natissimo pls tell me u ant saying steph wouldn't be in the league if it was physical
@toxic moon lol he wouldn't
@toxic moon I'm amazed you could even make sense of the gibberish he wrote
“In terms of excitement, Steph is the new Jordan”
Thats what she said
Every time I watch a Jimmy video, I go to look at his videos tab just to make sure I didn't miss a video. Then I watch them all again.
7:10 Hold up! MJ's 69-point game happened on 03/28/90. The 1989-90 Cavs was ranked as the 10th best defense in the league.
INB4 replies about defenses in different eras.
If Jimmy Butler always played like this he'd be the greatest player of all time
People say 4 for 10, but sit back to realize how insane it is to be in the finals 10 times
Yeah and 8 of the 10 were all stacked asf aswell lol
You gotta remember that the east Bron played in for the majority of his career was pretty weak, there’s a reason he’s lost in the finals as much as he has against actual good comp. Take his 2007 playoff run for example where his opponents in the east were the .500 nets, .500 wizards and the pistons with no Wallace
@gxn and if Bron averaged 25 instead of 22 they win the series. It wasn’t his teammates. He choked
@gxn And Lebron didn't play on a bad franchise as well? Apparently a rookie Lebron should've 100% told the Front Office to handcuff Carlos Boozer to his $700,000 contract instead of letting his franchise get played for chumps. Every team in the East didn't know how to draft and develop until recently. The same thing is happening with Luka right now where his franchise is throwing picks at players.
It’s underrated how good the Tmac and Vince Carter duo would have been if he never left
“Can you really think lebrons career hasn’t been great?.... I mean, really???”
Hilarious
“Jordan gets a pass for being sensitive cause he’s good at ball”
“No Hes sensitive but he doesn’t get a pass cause he’s good at ball he gets a pass cause he good and ball”
Commenting after personally being at that warriors bucks game and that first take is a yes
Ok but bookers 70 pts against the celtics was really impressive, cus at the time there defense was top 10
YES. Another hot take episode. Thank you Jxmy.
Rings culture really has ruined NBA discourse. Greatness can't be truly appreciated without some sort of mention of rings, and fans keep moving goalposts when giving these takes. It's ridiculous.
Right. People out here acting like four rings is a poor accomplishment. Making the finals ten (10) times is a poor accomplishment. Just looking for reasons to hate.
It’s because lebron threatens their era and favorite player. So ppl have to make bad faith arguments to feel better. They think u can’t appreciate lebron and the other greats of this era without it meaning u think every era before was trash
@Lucas Rego don't be dumb, rings matter the most it's always been that way your love of Lebron doesn't change that. Jordan was held to that standard and so is Lebron thats why he ran to Miami. Nobody cares about stats without post-season success. Jokic can't be the mvp 3 years running with no post-season success to show for it, the standard must remain high.
@DNICE41 man stop he has 4 rings and 4fmvps he has won more than most people that will ever play the game whether you like it or not
@Apply context
This could be said about any all time great of the sport tbh
More videos please 🙏
I would watch you talking about anything 😂
that prime harden over prime giannis isn’t that bad of a take imo, harden was averaging 35 7 and 7 for two seasons so (not saying i agree tho i’m def taking giannis)
The problem is that Prime Giannis is starting this year and turning on 32-12-6 for now ( he turned 28 this season), Giannis was 24 yo and the 3rd youngest MVP so that take is still horrible
0:25 is no one going to talk about how derrick rose was 9th in mvp voting… in 2021
Really need you a to do a deep dive on jayson tatum know the vid would be fire he’s got a lot expected of him right now coming off a finals appearance and being arguably at the peak of his game
5:22 I mean, just because others got screwed doesn't mean we should continute screwing. We should be trying to improve our attitudes all the time. But I get what you mean.
The comparisons of the year after Giannis went 2 in a row and this year after Jokic has gone 2 in a row can't be compared. When the Bucks got knocked out in the first round, it was shocking and Giannis had no excuses, the team's core was healthy. No one expected anything for the Nuggets in the last 2 post seasons.
exactly. If anything the reason why LeBron was scrutinized in his Miami days is because he performed poorly in the playoffs. Jokic performs exceptionally in the playoffs, always better than expected, and he definitely carries his team to the greatest extent. No team can win a championship with only 1 guy doing all the work.
people expect things from jokic in the post season this year and the nuggets gon get bounced again LMAO
Better hope Jokic makes it out of the 2nd round at least
Absolutely Jokic's performance will matter this year, my point. That his post season lack of success the late 2 doesn't matter for the vote this year is the point. In 2021, he got MVP because there was no one else to give it to. Late year he got it partly because some of hopefuls weren't eligible again and partly because it was damn impressive how he willed the Nuggets into the playoffs damn near by himself, the whole value to the team argument. This year, he's a frontrunner became he's put together a proper candidacy with stats, team ranking and the whole shibang. Now is the time to perform; however, if you look at Giannis's current legacy, if the joker wins MVP this year and doesn't perform this year, it won't be the end of the world. Giannis came back and won the whole thing the following year after he made people feel foolish for voting MVP for him because he got kicked in the first round.
The bad team argument had me dead, I wonder if those people hold any weight to the early 2000s Lakers three peat playing against horrible teams from the east.
That KD comparison is spot on. People don’t really care for his 2 rings because he joined the team with the best record in NBA history. Every other time he fell short as a leader
Was he better than Steph for either of them?
@FortyNights clearly not for 2018 to me
if steph wasnt taken out for so many fourth quarters he’d have scored over 70 multiple times
No shit Sherlock🤓
And klay
@Grimy K3 😂😂😂😂 atleast you know 👉🤡
Every championship is worth celebrating. They strive for it.
Please make a video about Klay Thomson and Kawhi Leonard about how they came back from their injuries.
Durant would fit this topic as well. Is there any other notable players we are forgetting?
The last 4 and soon to be 5 MVP awards were given to players 7 foot or taller in the era of chucking up 3s I think that’s so much more impressive than ppl realize
It’s not. spacing allows big man to flourish in todays game. Besides that jokic is 6‘11
but it was given to two players only, cant act like it was 4 dudes winning it lol
@ludi foe It's so hilarious everyone discredits a player because of "spacing" as if role players are just nobodies who aren't also improving their game to help their teams out
When it comes to box office jaw dropping play I would sy either Kyre or ja is this era's MJ..MJ in the 80's was just the most exciting player to watch even though he probably wasn;t the best in the NBA..at that time Magic, and Larry were considered the best in the early to mid 80's
Hot take: No matter the individual numbers, if a player was a bad or selfish teammate, he cannot be in a debate. (Except Kobe bc he’s Kobe)
I like Jimmy's videos so much I never skip his Seat Geek ads
Your opinion on the jokic take is really awkward when put right next to the dame one and especially capped off with the 3 peat take where you state that ring culture has gotten out of hand and we shouldn’t let that take away from appreciating greatness…. Love your vids. Rare jxmmy miss.
Luka should be front runner for MVP this season but I think that the Kyrie trade totally compromised that. Luka was carrying his team harder than anybody I’ve ever seen earlier this year. I understand why Jokic is very impressive, but Luka is better in my opinion. That’s gonna make some people mad I guess lol
Jimmy I just want you to know that you make some of most consistently great content on the platform and you're in a league of your own when it comes to NBA content
facts
Seriously tho
Yup. Every video he drops will have you captivated from beginning to end
Before his leg injury Jusuf Nurkic was on pace to being a top 5 center in the nba
I love this videos bro! You are the man! You are very talented at deconstructing Stupidity 😂 that was very impressive bro.
Him: This man (Steph) has kids on the other side of the planet rocking his jersey trying to knockdown look away threes
Damn hes talking exactly abt me
6:25 Kyrie Irving dropped 57 on the 5th best defence in 2015, his best performance to this day imo.
When jimmy post I make sure I have alone time to watch
Man, i dont even watch the NBA anymore but i love this channel.
I so totally wish we could get a channel EXACTLY like this one but for football, soccer, and hockey. I'd love to see those sports broken down the way Highroller does basketball.
I'm telling you, J, if you start a channel for football, or include in your rotation, you'll kill it. Ur attention to detail is staggering and honestly, inspiring.
I feel like you should start a football channel using Jimmy’s formula.
@Jetanium That'd be great, but I don't have the chops for that. Best I can do is hope that someone better equipped than me can do it, and just support and encourage them.
Y'know, humans have to be good at many things - this is not one of those things for me. 😆
@Jetanium i second that
Raymar Football is a similar channel but for soccer. You’re welcome
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 the 3 peat part was amazing my guy 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Damn, the Lillard narrative really makes Butler's massacre on the Bucks a feat on it's own.
Hot take: hardens assists are worth less this season cause he's on a good team and other teams don't have as many good options as he does
Literally every star's/legend's highest scoring game was against a bad defensive team, so Jxmy is right; people should stop searching for reasons to discredit players, especially Damian Lillard who played in God mode by having one of the best NBA games in history. 😤🔥💪
Jokic is different, he’s quiet, unfazed my wins or loses, he was in Serbia, riding a horse buggy when he won his second. The point is, he doesn’t care about awards, he cares about winning and stats
Idk why but that thumbnail with MJ telling Curry "you're just like me" is strangely wholesome but I could never imagine Jordan saying it to anyone but Kobe...
followed by jordan thinking to himself "he thinks he is as good as me... i took that personal" 🤣
Lol He wouldn’t say that to Kobe either
Kobe was MJ 1.2
he wouldn't say it to Kobe either lmao
He only said that to piss of King James
@imkingelijah why would lebron want to be like jordan?😂
Why is he mentioning Lillard for so long but only mentioned Donavan Mitchell’s name in passing? What Mitchell did was way more crazy than what Lillard did, in my humble opinion
I am a Magic fan and the meme at the beginning with LeBron, Bronny and Bryce was honestly funny but true.
waited for a long time for your new vid! you didnt disappoint! nice one jimmy!
For 7:10, I suggest leaving Jordan out of the discussion since he scored 61 against the Bad Boy Pistons and 63 against the Celtics. Also, there's a huge difference between 9th worst and 2nd worst.
I always forget that jimmy is watching when I give my hot takes
still one of the funniest takes that i’ve ever read is that lebrons 3-1 ring doesn’t count because draymond was out for one game
I've never heard anyone say that ring didn't count. I've heard about the 2020 championship though. I do believe Draymond's suspension changed the momentum, but it doesn't disqualify that championship.
@OHiWONder Gaming yeah, hitting someone in the nuts and getting bounced, isn't much different than missing a game winner that swings the momentum the other way. It's an action they took and it affected the series. Thats what series are, a bunch of actions. It's not like he got sick and had to miss a game.
@OHiWONder Gaming its all over social media thats why. I see it all the time on twitter and youtube. They are probably just trolls tho
That ring doesn’t count because Lebron’s “block” was actually basket interference. You can see his left hand grab/hit the rim. Also Draymond out and Bogut out after injury is the only reason he went on that run too. Draymond and Bogut play, warriors easy finish.
I loved that line. 08 Celtic championship. WORTHLESS!
Really crazy to see the Stephen A Smith take about Jokic not having a deep playoff run, when now he clearly got robbed of MVP and is in the finals
When he started calling them bums I cried
Carmelo dropped his 62 on the Bobcats too😂
My hot take is that Dominique Wilkins was just as great as Jordan in the 80’s and early 90’s. They played almost the same game above the rim with nice lays and contorting dunks and a smooth turn around middy. If he’d been in a different market he’d be 10 ten.
