  • Jimmy Butler has really shined in the postseason, leading Nick Wright to tell Colin Cowherd that underestimating him and the Miami Heat in these NBA Playoffs has been a serious mistake. He points to Butler's stats, and explains why he's one of the top postseason players in the league. Plus, rumors are swirling that LeBron James is being recruited to the Dallas Mavericks by none other than Kyrie Irving, and in response, the Los Angeles Lakers released a statement that they have no intention of bringing on Kyrie to their roster... Nick and Colin share their thoughts on this report, and Nick tells Colin why he believes both players will remain right where they are.

Miami with Riley and Spoe have the freedom to create a roster of Duncan Robinson, Kevin Love, Max Strus, Tyler Herro. Why? They can hit 3s. Most teams would want the Top 12 Athletes. But those role players on Miami that Jimmy Butler can coordinate at the 3 point lines while him and Bam can do their thing is Magic. They are like the New England Patriots with Tom Brady with all those slow White receivers who all they do is catch balls

    • Johnny Baxter

Interesting to think that Harden is way better in the regular season and Butler is Way better in the playoffs….

    • Kelijah Warren
Kelijah Warren 3 months ago +2

Easy correlation. Hardens game is finesse and more reliant on fouls(a lot of foul baiting at that) and skill and less on lure grit, effort, and motor. Also players are playing harder defense in playoffs and game plans are more tight. Jimmy butlers game is effort based. Like if he played how he is in playoffs he'd be much more fatigued and injured. Like even for LeBron at this point I honestly think ideally he would only play like half the games and just coast and ramp it up towards playoff time.

Nick has it right again Colin. Butler will do what it takes to win. This includes diving into a defensive player, falling off balance and creating a called foul on a shot he was never going to make and getting 3 free throws to save game 1. Game 2, they won by 1 shot. So let’s not go on and on about how great they are. Denver will win it all if the refs don’t call all the flops as fouls.

    • Christopher Jones
      Christopher Jones 3 months ago

Oh, please. No one gets more calls than Jokic. He pushes off constantly and rarely gets whistled. In game 1, he pushed someone down to the ground. No whistle. He also got away with hooking Duncan Robinson and pulling him to the floor. Meanwhile, the much smaller Robinson got called for merely having his arm extended while driving on Jokic.
Denver has "the most talent" and the altitude and the "best player." They're the #1 seed and were far better rested coming into this series.
The Heat were coming off a grueling 7 game series, sleeping at hotels for a straight week and then went into the altitude. Butler's ankle has been sore and his father is very sick. Caleb Martin has the flu. Herro was their leading scorer.
Denver has no room to cry about anything.

This is the finals, gentlemen… And knowing how owners are and how fans are… we can almost bet that they’re gonna go six or seven games because everybody wants to make money… Of course, we will hear the commentators talking about how much better team the Nuggets are than the Heat, and we will hear for the 500th time since the playoffs began about the three guys on the Heat, who were not drafted, yada, yada yada. all talking points is all this is, something to keep the interest up for folks to watch the games… I will GUARANTEE you that if there was a 250k bonus given to each player if the series was over in 4 games, you would see different games…and then there’s those wonderful officials who have just ignored the fact that Bam has pushed, shoved, fought with Jokic’ any time he gets into the lane with NO FOULS being called on him…come on man, they call what they want ,when they want and if you don’t think they can control a game or for that matter a series, then I’m George Strait and I’ve got some ocean front property in Arizona I want to sell you! Let’s see what Wednesday offers us….👍👌🤪

Denver has no room to cry about anything, certainly officiating, mister George Strait.
And the Miami Heat have nine (9) undrafted players - more than any other NBA team. Five (5) are contributing in these Finals. You can attempt to minimize that until you're blue in the face. When one other team in the history of the NBA does it, then one could attempt to argue that it's insignificant. Not until.
