A little tip, recording in the Ultras Corner in Germany can result to people being agressive to you. Always get their permission or be with some Ultras fans otherwise it can end bad. Happened way too often

@Slywata that clearly didnt look like an Ultra, most Braunschweig Ultras wear all black and are in "block 9". Many influencers were attacked because they wanted to record the "ultra scene".
Fun Fact: Braunschweig was the first Place in Continental Europe, was played football outside from England.Konrad Koch was a teacher and brought this sport from England to Braunschweig.

At 6:24, Braunschweig actually planted remote controlled smoke bombs into the drains under the away end. Imagine being a Hannover fan and seeing the colors of your biggest rival coming of the ground.
That's one of the funniest and most ingenious things I've heard a set of football fans do.... Setting off smoke bombs with your colours... REMOTELY.. in the opposition fans section...😂😂

Amazing that you came to Braunschweig. Allow me to add some interesting factoids:
1. The first ever football match in Germany was played in Braunschweig in 1874. A full feature film was made about this.
2. The stadium is right next to a huge Volkswagen factory plant. VW has many locations, but this is the oldest, where the company started.
3. Braunschweig is known in English as Brunswick. The rulers of the House of Hanover, who sat on the British Throne for almost 200 years, are officially the Dukes of Brunswick and Lunenburg. Therefore the Duchy of Braunschweig is represented in the royal British coat of arms from 1714 to 1837. Look for the 2 Lions on the middle shield.
Braunschweig has also been the first team ever to have a sponsor (Jägermeister) on their jersey

It is such a big club, such a big derby. I come from another country and live in Braunschweig since the last 3 years. I love Eintracht because of its tradition, dedication and love of the fans. How they dont allow that stadium changes the name into commercial one, so they collect the money to donate to club so the name Eintracht Stadion stays. I often go to standing tribune (yellow) close to ultras, just to have this feeling like I used to be active ultras in my homeland country and my home club, but now with my new one. I love the old school mentality of BTSV and am lucky to live here and support this glorious club.

@Elian Moore richtig, zumal die sich ja schon immer gehasst haben und bei Schalke - Dortmund, dem anzahlmäßig größtem Derby, war es nicht immer so. So haben die Schalker damals sogar mit den Dortmundern ihren Meister Titel gefeiert

Got to experience the intensity of the derby first hand yesterday:
I was at the Nordkurve (the stand next to the hannover Fans) with some of my friends. We ourselves are Hannover fans, but got the Tickets from some of our friends from Braunschweig. What we didn't know was that some of the Braunschweig ultras sat there aswell, because they wanted to start a fight with the hannover ultras. Probably the most stressful 90 minutes I've ever experienced, one of my friends got recognized as a Hannover fan, got spit at, they took pictures of him and waited for us at the exit. They probably just didn't beat him up in the stands because some of normal Braunschweig fans helped us.
Luckily we escaped them but man I'm not making that mistake again lol
The flares of the Hannover fans hitting people right next to us didn't help either
Wie dumm kann man bitte sein, sich im Braunschweiger Block als Hannoveraner zu erkennen zugeben? Ich bin Braunschweiger und verzichte selbst bei Umstiegen am Hauptbahnhof Hannover auf jegliche Erkennungszeichen, wie Mütze oder Hoody, die ich sonst immer trage.
@Anselm Blank Mein Kollege hat ein 96 Armband angehabt, das war halt auch alles.... Klar war das dumm, aber wenn man jetzt gerade nicht damit rechnet, dass man da ausversehen in einem block mit Ultras sitzt sollte das eigentlich trotzdem kein Problem sein. Vor allem wenn man selbst nur normaler Fan ist, eigentlich sollten Ultras was das angeht ja einen Kodex haben
@Pulse Knosse Wenn man als im Heimbereich rumläuft muss man damit rechnen an den einen oder anderen Knallkopf geraten zu können. Der Eingang zur Nordkurve ist schließlich derselbe wie der Südkurve.
In diesem Bereich stehen auch oft "Erlebnisorientierte" Fans (sei es Braunschweig, Mannheimer oder Magdeburger..). Schon blöd, wenn man sich als Gegner zu erkennen gibt. Noch blöder, wenn man sich dann über die Konsequenzen beschwert
Selber Schuld. Hoffentlich habt ihr was gelernt.

Fun fact: The music played during the choreography is not the regular entrance music. The carnival song "Braunschweig ist schöner als Hannover" literally translates to "Braunschweig is more beautiful than Hannover". A nice musical accompaniment, especially for the Hannover players. George IV had the Pavilion built in Brighton. As well as becoming the King of England he was the King of Hannover. In Brighton to this day is an area called Hanover. His wife was Caroline of Braunschweig (Brunswick). In Hove to this day is an area called Brunswick.
I was at the Pavilion in the late 70s when I was 12. Brighton is so beautiful. I stayed in Peacehaven at that time. Great memories.

I am a Bayern fan from Singapore. In May, 2017, we had a Bundesliga finale party to watch the final matchday of Bundesliga. A Braunschweig fan joined us, in his yellow and blue kit, and even , stood up and applauded Lahm for this contributions to German football. He was telling me that his hometown is called Lion City and it is the mother city of German football.
I told thim that, In the indian language, Singapore is also called Lion City and the Football Association of Singapore was founded in 1892, which is the oldest in Asia. He was surprised to hear the irony of this and we drank tons of beers while exchanging more cool facts. Football can truly bring fans together from diffrent lands.
This season there will be another Derby between Karlsruhe and Kaiserslautern in the second Division of Germany. The atmosphere will be amazing, so I hope to see you there as well 😍👍

Wow Ive been watching your content since the WC. Im from Braunschweig and I am an American Football fan and our team also plays in this stadium and man I always wanted you to come to our stadium this is amazing :D
First of all, I think it's really cool that you're approaching the real derbies in Germany.
The fact that it sometimes leads to a bit of jitters is certainly strange for people who don't know something like that, but it's just not commercial and kitsch football, which now only exists in the PL or partly in the Bundesliga.
If you want to do some more trips, also watch the real Leipzig Derby between Lok and Chemie, Nürnberg vs Fürth and next year Stuttgart vs Karlsruhe.

In 2010s, Eintracht Braunschweig had a one season in Bundesliga, but their campaign was disastrous. After getting promoted from third to second division in 2011, the club endured a surprise campaign in 2012-13, when they finished as runners up behind Hertha BSC and got promoted to Bundesliga. Even though they had lots of defeats throughout the 2013-14 season (21) and remained in dead last, the club only got relegated in the last matchday due to the unexpected results with 6 wins and 5 draws; such a historic win happened when the club defeated Wolfsburg away from home 2-0, Mainz 05 4-2, and Hamburger SV 3-1.

As a 96 Fan, I apologise for the things that happened at the stadium We definitely crossed the line and again the club need to pay for that🙄. This is not football anymore when it comes to hurting other people who hasn't done nothing wrong at all. Apart from that we played really bad and I'm really disappointed and frustrated. Congratulations to Braunschweig, they deserved the victory but Hanover is still the number one in Niedersachsen 🖤🤍💚

I ve just stumbled across your Schalke - Dortmund visit the other day, just to find out you were at the "most fierce" (how true!) Derby in Germany today. The fire at 8:30 is the burning of the flag of 96-fanclub "Treuer Norden", which the Eintracht-Ultras somehow got hold of. Great report and respect for having this up in no time after the match.

Oh man...I was hoping so much you'd ever make a video about our fierce derby and then you get to choose the game in Braunschweig where my Hannover 96 completely deserved that loss. Right now, Hannover is the only team that has never won a game in 2023 in German professional football. This could end pretty badly - first half of the season still only 5 points away to promotion, excellent atmosphere, everybody optimistic. Second half so far: Hannover keeps falling and falling in the table, everybody annoyed by our poor performances and the behaviour of the fans gets worse and worse. There are always provocations from both sides btw (some people have already told you about the sneaky remote "blue and yellow" flares in the away end), but this time my team just probably got what they deserved.
You should come back next season and check out the derby in Hannover - assuming that both teams don't get relegated this year.

That one flare at 6:46 was particularly bad, that is part of the family area. Children are mostly found there. Even more amazing that they almost hit one of their own players. Glad this was on a Sunday, my workplace is super close to the stadium so luckily wasn't affected by the huge security measures they took.

The Premier League may well be the best overall in terms of level (which goes without saying when you compare the money that flows), in return you have an experience here from the 1st to (at least) the 3rd league when you go to the stadium that real football fans simply love and don't want to trade for anything (keyword 50+1, etc.)!
Every football culture should be respected, but when I saw the fans of Newcastle, for example, celebrate and be overjoyed when it became clear that their club was being peddled to the sheikhs, I had to shake my head and almost lost my faith!
But everyone as they see fit 🤷🏼♂️

I live near both cities and near my village there is a hill which was 96 meters high I say was because the Braunschweig fans at some point removed 1 meter because it reminded them too much of hannover 96

Derby winner, derby winner, hey, hey! ,) By the way, actually the right people (from both cities) understand the derby and the rivalry with a twinkle in their eye, even if it has a totally serious background, but unfortunately this is totally lost on some people and they get too crazy about it. I have family in Braunschweig and it is firstly an amazing city. I was there last month and was lucky enough to watch a game from block 8. The atmosphere was electric. I watched yesterdays game from England against 95+1 and Braunschweig were deserved winners. I just wish I was there. Big up to the blue and yellow lions👍🏻👍🏻
