Halloween Ends - "The Final Reckoning"

  • Published on Sep 19, 2022 veröffentlicht
  • This is Laurie Strode’s last stand.
After 45 years, the most acclaimed, revered horror franchise in film history reaches its epic, terrifying conclusion as Laurie Strode faces off for the last time against the embodiment of evil, Michael Myers, in a final confrontation unlike any captured on-screen before. Only one of them will survive.
Icon Jamie Lee Curtis returns for the last time as Laurie Strode, horror’s first “final girl” and the role that launched Curtis’ career. Curtis has portrayed Laurie for more than four decades now, one of the longest actor-character pairings in cinema history. When the franchise relaunched in 2018, Halloween shattered box office records, becoming the franchise’s highest-grossing chapter and set a new record for the biggest opening weekend for a horror film starring a woman.
Four years after the events of last year’s Halloween Kills, Laurie is living with her granddaughter Allyson (Andi Matichak) and is finishing writing her memoir. Michael Myers hasn’t been seen since. Laurie, after allowing the specter of Michael to determine and drive her reality for decades, has decided to liberate herself from fear and rage and embrace life. But when a young man, Corey Cunningham (Rohan Campbell; The Hardy Boys, Virgin River), is accused of killing a boy he was babysitting, it ignites a cascade of violence and terror that will force Laurie to finally confront the evil she can’t control, once and for all.
Halloween Ends co-stars returning cast Will Patton as Officer Frank Hawkins, Kyle Richards as Lindsey Wallace and James Jude Courtney as The Shape.
From the creative team that relaunched the franchise with 2018’s Halloween and Halloween Kills, the film is directed by David Gordon Green from a screenplay by Paul Brad Logan (Manglehorn), Chris Bernier (The Driver series), Danny McBride and David Gordon Green, based on characters created by John Carpenter and Debra Hill. Halloween Ends is produced by Malek Akkad, Jason Blum and Bill Block. The executive producers are John Carpenter, Jamie Lee Curtis, Danny McBride, David Gordon Green, Ryan Freimann, Ryan Turek, Andrew Golov, Thom Zadra and Christopher H. Warner.
Universal Pictures, Miramax and Blumhouse present a Malek Akkad production, in association with Rough House Pictures.

Man, i can only imagine how emotional it is for Jamie Lee Curtis to say goodbye to Laurie Strode a.k.a the OG final girl... Jamie as Laurie, quite literally started a legacy that lasted till today, over 40 years later, respect

@Solid Snake well, Halloween Ends have a quite forced storyline but atleast it does wrap up pretty nicely and even pays off the whole "the evilness spread through Haddonfield" sub-plot introduced in Halloween Kills

@CHAOS SECTOR she wasn’t killed in 4. But they made it seem like she was dead when Jamie was looking at the picture of her which is weird because she lived after 2. Ans Michael wasn’t even in 3 so idk. Either way I love them all except for rob zombies second and season of the witch

I feel nothing, it's my favourite horror film franchise of all time but I feel zero.
      I watch 1,2,3 even 4 - I feel something. The others, no;
2018 was cool, going great - but then Michael Myers decides to walk into a cop car. That whole scene is hilarious and just stupid as all hell. Ri9ght? Like Myers would do that?
Then the whole Sartain thing, the stupid switch of Laurie being vanished from the grounds, that's just so lame. The "happy halloween Michael" is just an other dagger in the back
There must be some emotional weight at the end, so it will all come into place.
I like 2018 but it has some stupid shit in it. I like Kills but it has some more stupid shit in it. It''s down to the writing, it sucks.
"It's time to put the boogieman to bed" had better be just trailer shit. Thats' some lame BustARhymes type shit right there,
Do I trust these people to deliver a decent Halloween move>? No.

It’s so gutting that it’s Jamie lee Curtis final movie as Laurie really have enjoyed her performances in each movie she had to be in even the worst ones I still watched for her and Michael myers performances in every movie I’ve enjoyed 🎃I would still be down for future Halloween movies with entirely new characters I wonder if that’s where Corey comes in as a copycat with Michaels mask that theory i keep seeing sounds interesting if executed okay in the movie☺️🎃

@Robert Quant There's too many James Bond movies with 25. A 13th Friday The 13th is coming. There's far too many of those aswell, since it should've ended with Friday The 13th Part 4: The Final Chapter.

@The Magic-Verse 1B: Beginning of the end If this movie is a success, you can bet they will make another before long. This franchise has indeed been dragging on far too long with far too many movies, but if they can still make money out of this franchise they will keep making more until its unprofitable.

It’s surreal to me that I can still remember how I felt walking out of the theater in 1998 after watching Halloween H20 and realizing that this is it, even though it would turn out that it wasn’t and that it probably was better off left alone after watching Resurrection. And now, it’s coming to a close again.🥺

    • Social Justice Logic
Social Justice Logic 2 months ago +1

Wouldv'e been WAYY better if she had sliced the real Michaels head off , and thats how the series wrapped up. Instead of them making that horrible Resurrection cash grab. "Laurie after 20 years of living in fear finally takes on her boogeyman and eliminates him for good overcoming her fear and finally living in peace"....Would've been a great way to end the series.

@KiLDiG dot com The thing is, there's only so much you can do with 'Man in mask stalks and kills people'.
Carpenter knew this, that's why he said the original was supposed to be a one and done affair as 'Their was no more story' left to tell.
All these horror franchises suffer from the same issue.

Although what’s kinda funny is that with them having no connection, in terms of this new timeline, I actually wonder if Michael even gave Laurie a second thought? All these years of Laurie obsessing over Michael, did he even think about her? Or would she and her family have been safe if she had stayed out of Michaels way?

I think I might speak for most "Halloween" fans when I say I'm eternally grateful to to everyone that had a hand in ensuring Laurie Strode's legacy wasn't wasted with "Halloween: Resurrection" being the last word on her character. Unless they're really going to go off the rails somehow (and I'd like to think Jamie Lee Curtis wouldn't waste her time doing THAT again), "Halloween Ends" will do our Final Girl - the FIRST Final Girl - justice and I, for one, will be standing at the end to applaud her.

Very awesome this trilogy happened to give Jamie the kind of send-off to Laurie that she wanted. H20 was a great way for her to say goodbye to the franchise, then Resurrection just shat all over it.
But as much as H20 still entertains me, this trilogy has given so much more for her to work with and do, even with the limited role in Halloween Kills.
And I really hope Halloween finally becomes an anthology series from here. There's only so much that can be done with Michael before it goes into overexplaining territory and ruining his mystique. He's always worked best when presented as a force of nature, something unexplainable. Let him rest for a while, start making standalone stories with the Halloween moniker like Season of the Witch, and then when plenty of time has gone by, revisit Michael and see if a fresh twist can be put on the story without rehashing too much or explaining him or humanizing him.

I like the new trilogy of the H40 timeline they we’re the best. I gotta be honest I am going to miss Jamie Lee Curtis in Halloween movies so much she is a scream queen and she is my 1st favorite final girl forever. 1978-2022

We love you Laurie/jamie so much. Now, this may be jumping the gun, but how much you want to bet when she's like 80 or 85 and there's a new Trilogy out she'll pop up for a second or something in a rocking chair telling the story of her battles with michael.

Icons of Halloween horror films. From the First to this one they will always be watched especially this time of the year. She made Michael Myers as legend of Horror.

Im praying that they can end this on a fantastic high note . Please be awesome!!

I still think it would be more interesting if they stayed siblings in these movies. It makes their dynamic more complex imo but either way still love this new trilogy

Halloween will most definitely have more sequels, but this trilogy and JLC's run as Laurie Strode end with Ends. But knowing Hollywood, they're going to recast her and bring the character back for more movies.

Different trilogy’s and different timelines. There’s many ways to make the story. They don’t all have to be the same. That why this new trilogy is so good

You got to think about 40 years of playing a character. A story that's been told for three different generations. How is the original Halloween NOT the greatest horror movie of all time?

I bet if they do make another Halloween movie, it’ll be called Halloween returns. And it’ll show how Michael don’t really die.

I wonder if this will really be the last time we will see Jamie Lee Curtis in a Halloween film. We all thought we would never see her again in a Halloween film after
Halloween Resurrection but we did. I wonder if history will repeat it self 🤔

i loved Michael because he was that villain that u couldn't put a label on, "the boogyman" I like that, no one knew exactly what he was and I wasn't sure if I was ready for him to finally be explained as something, but if it's jamie lee curtis saying what he is I can get behind it if that makes sense

I feel like she will come back as a cameo or at least definitely a reference if there are future films but the days of being the main person of the film besides Michael are over but she’ll be back In some way hopefully either way ready to see the end of their story it’s gonna be awesome
