Did anyone else notice that a large majority of these duels involve Obi-wan or Maul?

Fun Fact : Anakin was trying to replicate the jump that Obi-Wan did on Maul and Obi-Wan knew it that's why he said "Don't try it"

The duel between Ahsoka and Vader is brilliant, the emotion and ferocity that they both go into it with is almost heart breaking.

Not having Obi Wan and Darth Maul from Rebels is a glaring omission.
What it lacks in runtime it makes up for in emotional weight and small details.
Truly underappreciated.

I totally agree with the list, I love how you don't only talk about choreography but also sentimental value and nostalgia. Ahsoka Vs Darth Maul is by far the best animated Lightaber fight ever created, as well as the whole final arc of the Clone Wars: Siege of Mandalore. I love Star Wars so much...

#10 bugged me the most. You left out Obi-Wan on his own against Maul and Savage after Gallia was killed? That was one of Obi-Wan’s best moments from the whole show! He pulled out all the stops dual-wielding lightsabers and won! Also, that “you are mistaken” line at the beginning is just so awesome.

Never a doubt about number 1. The sheer emotion of it is enough to break anyone's heart.

Twilight of The Apprentice will always be my favourite moment in all Star Wars. There’s just so much emotion & years of buildup towards that confrontation & it effected me in a way nothing else had before.

Count Dooku was one of my favorites. He had the dope style with and without the lightsaber.

Even if you dislike the choreography for TROS’s last duel, the setting IMO helps to make up for it. Watching them duke it out on the Second Death Star’s wreckage with those crashing waves is one of my favorite moments from the sequel films. Plus, there’s some serious poetry their tying into Revenge’s Mustafar duel; in that fight, they’re on a fire planet with the Skywalker on the offensive. On Endor, their surrounded by water, and the Skywalker (Kylo) is defending himself.

Ahoska's line "I'm no Jedi." Is just so bad ass.

One thing I love about the final fight is Obi’wan says
“Don’t try it”
He knows what Anakins going to attempt
Why?
Because he did the SAME move on Maul in the phantom menace.............

I’m so happy the Ahsoka vs Darth Maul duel made the top 5 list. It’s my all time favorite battle in The Clone Wars. Heck, it’s my all time favorite battle in the ENTIRE FRANCHISE!!! EVERYTHING she said about that battle at 18:35 is 100% true!

If Kenobi vs Anakin is #1 on this list, then the rematch takes the top spot. The choreography is fantastic, the cinematography is captivating, the dialog is heart wrenching and the sheer emotional scope is unparalleled.

I was so disappointed that they shafted Finn. He should of been force sensitive and that blue lightsaber look is totally owned by him.

Obi-Wan 1v2ing savage and maul definitely deserves more respect

Qui-gon and Obi-wan vs Maul was awesome. The choreography alone was captivating, but it kept us on our toes.
But my favourite was also No.1. The greatest light saber duel in history.

How can you not show the rest of the fight of #10. It’s one of the greatest lightsaber fights of all time. Demonstrating that obi-wan is one of the greatest dualists of all time, especially as the definitive master of soresu, the light saber form focused on defense and being able to deal with multiple assailants/multiple light sabers

I personally think the fight between Yoda and Palpatine should have been higher up, they both and great dialogue in that scene and was incredibly cool to see Yoda doing flips and jumps of the Chancellors stand as they arise into the Senate. I thought it was so captivating seeing Palpatine throw Senate Stands at Yoda and seeing their joint strength in the force. I just feel it deserved a higher ranking than 7. Just my personal opinion.

I fundamentally think not having the Rebels Obi-wan vs Maul final fight is a crime. That has got to be the most poetic Star Wars scenes ever.

The score of Luke vs Darth Vader in ROTJ is my favorite with Dual of the fates a very close second. The fight is not as flashy but the music is just so foreboding and intense. Great list Mojo

I realized that most lightsaber duels often end with a death or dismemberment.
Or both in Windu's case

In live action my favorite is definitely Yoda VS Palpitine because it shows us the 2 most powerful force users going head to head. It was a fight we never knew we wanted until we got it.
In animation my favorite is definitely Ahsoka VS Vader. The sheer drama that comes from it and the heartbreaking reveal that Ahsoka’s former master has fallen so low. It’s a fight worthy of a tragedy of Shakespeare.

Darth maul fights are my favorite but Luke Skywalker vs Darth Vader was the most rememberable.

Wish she mentioned how Qui-gon and Kenobi vs Maul had the best score behind their fight, Duel of the Fates is an absolute banger

#5 is my personal favorite battle!! As she said, it wasn't about the action. but the emotional charge!!!! I get goosebumps every time I watch it!!!

I feel like Anakin vs Dooku in Revenge of the Sith was definitely a great fight and deserve a spot on the list.

Maul vs Obi round 2 will always be my favorite. People say it was underwelming, but it was perfect. Kenobi baited Maul with Qui Gons stance, and cut threw his lightsaber before he could hit him in the head with it like he did to Qui Gon.

What does it tell you that Maul made it onto the list 6 times?! Plus an honorable mention?! (Please correct me if I miscounted, lol)
Also, watching this list gave me so many chills and feels from so many of my favorite Star Wars moments.

I’ve always wished yoda and sidious had gone on for longer. Two of the most powerful fighting in the senate chamber was so good 😊

Dooku vs Night Sisters in clone wars is also amazing. Probably not good enough for the list but maybe an honorable mention.

PS, it is indeed both obscure and awesome to see Obi-Wan hold a red lightsaber.

Maul vs Obi-Wan from Rebels is definetly one of my favorites, it’s simple yet complex, the story behind each move is amazing

The best part about Luke vs Vader is the way Palpitine sits on his throne and tries to manipulate Luke the way he did Anakin. Also when Vader says "Obi-Wan taught you well" after Luke kicks him down the stairs to gain the highground was amazing.
Even if it wasn't 20 years of foreshadowing for the prequels, it's still amazing they remembered all that and put it in the prequel movies.

I believe the fight that Anakin and Obi-Wan has vs Count Dooku in season 6 is awesome; he reveals his alias Tyrannus etc. It’s good and it really shows Dooku’s skill as a fighter.

Anakin vs Dooku should have been on the list. That was such a big moment in my opinion. Also would loved to see my personal favourite bros vs Sidious a bit higher.

Although no strictly from the films or TV, I think it’s a shame not to mention the fantastic battle between Kao Cen Darach/Satele Shan and Darth Malgus/Darth Vindican from The Old Republic

The best lightsaber duel is the duel between Anakin and obi-wan because you can feel the emotion and rage with each clash of the blades.

Palpetine actually let windu to disarm to make him look like he had been attacked by mace because he sensed anakin enter the building so he could finally convince him the Jedi were bad

When a true best lightsaber duel Maul vs. Kenobi in Rebels wasn’t even mentioned.

Every duel with Darth Maul is at least A tier
He’s one of the best characters the series has ever had and his duels can show that perfectly

Anakin vs Ventress is my first pick. Incredibly directed, showing Anakin's fury. Watch the whole of it if you haven't

I feel like yoda vs dooku is so underrated. It was the first time we ever got to see yoda in action and he made dooku run like a b***h

Obi-Wan vs. Maul in Rebels is very under-rated and should have been in this list over 4 of these in here.

Count Dooku vs Anakin and Obi Wan from the Clone Wars should have been on here. That was a brilliantly choreographed fight, one of the best in the Clone Wars.

I still think the first part of "Clone Wars" should be canon since it shows how Anakin became a Jedi Knight.

This has to be the most accurate list out there! Love that the prequels & The Clone Wars are getting some appreciation!!

For me number 1 is Luke v Vader rematch in rotj. Sometimes less is more, and the intensity of that scene was the accumulation of the greatest trilogy ever and did it justice. The dialogue with Luke and Vader, the emporer watching over, as each opponent tries to turn the other, neither wanting to land the killing blow. Epicness. Much better than the flips and tricks of the prequels and far superior to the toy selling sequels.

13:52, seeing that in theaters as a kid, I damn near ran out of the theater on account of how unfair and yet badass it was to see Obi Wan take on Grievous with 4 lightsabers.

21:19 I’m glad that Ahsoka and Luminara vs Asajj Ventress was at least an honorable mention because that was the first time ever in Star Wars history that an all-female fight was introduced

I'm extremely happy that Anakin Skywalker vs Obi-Wan Kenobi is #1.

Anakin vs Obi-Wan in Revenge of the Sith had to be the top one. That was the most emotional duel and also I think the longest in the saga. Now I think Obi-Wan vs Vader in the finale of Kenobi is a close second to this duel

Fun fact: in one version of a New Hope, during his duel with Obi-wan, Darth Vaders lightsaber mistakenly changes to White for two frames

In case you were wondering who the three other Jedi with Mace Windu when they dueled (and were ultimately killed by) Palpatine are, these are their names:
Agen Kolar (Blue lightsaber, first to die)
Saesee Tiin (Green lightsaber, second one to be killed)
Kit Fisto (Green lightsaber, held his own briefly alongside Windu before being struck down by Palpatine)

#12 should have been in the top 10. I remember seeing that in the movies when it came out and was blown away.

Personally I think, the fight from return of the Jedi beats every other fight that ever happened in the Star Wars series, the pure emotion, anger, choreography and visuals are stunning

i lowkey think maul and savage opress vs just obi wan should be much higher, it was one of my fave duels, it just showed how focused and powerful obi wan was

Obi-Wan & Qui-Gon vs Darth Maul, Yoda vs Dooku, and Ahsoka vs Maul were awesome because of their duel movements, techniques, and energy.
Obi-Wan vs Maul (Rebels), Obi-Wan vs Darth Vader, and Luke vs Vader (TESB) were awesome because of the emotion & symbolism between them.
Ahsoka vs Vader, Luke vs Vader (ROTJ), and Obi-Wan vs Anakin had displayed both strong raw emotions & symbolism, and incredible lightsaber dueling against each other.
I love these duels and the rest (yes, even the sequel trilogy duels... unfortunately)

I know it got HM, but I feel like Anakin vs Bariss should’ve been top 20. Anakin showing his expertise against Bariss is one of the most dominating scenes in TCW. And the ending, where Anakin is force choking her, shows how much closer he has come to eliminating the soft ways of the Jedi.

Old Ben vs Maul should of had at least an honorable mention it’s a very detailed fight.

Are we just going to take a second to talk about how cool Ezra’s first light saber is I mean it can be used as a blade and a gun at the same time

Of course, quite a few fights with Count Dooku were solely based on Christopher Lee's own skill with a sword... like Sir Patrick Stewart, Christopher Lee was a professional swordsman, and knew his way around fencing and swordsmanship.

I love how she just says "mace windu vs Darth sidious" completely discarding the other jedi as they were basically irrelevant

Honestly, for me, anything with the Darksaber is at the top, followed closely by anything with Count Dooku, when Dooku is actually played by Christopher Lee. Lee is a pleasure to watch in any role, really, the man was an absolute legend. His biography reads like an adventure novel.

Dooku Vs. Yoda is pretty impressive since the Dooku stunt double is literally fighting nothing and making it look convincing

I suspect that if this were to be re-made today, the duel between Obi-wan and Vader in Obi-Wan Part 6 would be #1 or #2

The only problem I have with the Ashoka and Maul fight is that Ashoka's lightsaber skills can top Qui Gon Jin who was a Jedi Master
