@Tyrell James He is a better option than anyone else we have at striker. We needed a finisher at the WC and he could be it for the future. I would like to see him at USMNT because I believe he makes us better, based on what he has done in France.

@Bones Jones I think at his age the bigger concern is getting game time against strong competition and while CONCACAF is not the strongest, it is good experience.

As an Arsenal and England fan. I hope he chooses USA. He can develop without being under the spotlight. There is huge pressure on young England players. Look what happened to a 19 year old Saka after he missed the penalty. The media in this country heap loads of pressure on England players. Look at Deli Ali. He can enjoy his football more playing for USA.

    • lint man

You are spot on. And I rate him higher than nketiah. Look i love him and I think hes also superb. But I think balo will come out a little stronger especially if he picks usa. You also have to remember tomori. He had a similar case. But he chose england and is being way to under the radar. We can both agree that him and ben white are better than stones and dier. Maguire is not even a question in all seriousness lol

As a gooner hope he dont make a decision too soon, I got alot of faith in this guy and want to see him back in the squad next season, Kane wont be around for too long, Rashford & Toney is his main competition although under Southgate it will be even tougher to get called up imo - I was rlly happy when under Arteta he signed a new contract when clubs were sniffing around him, he couls have a similar impact as Saliba had when he returned.. He's not on the lvl I remember but reminds me of a mix between Anelka & Welbeck, would love to see more of him and tbf USA does have some talent but in 4-5 years with this England squad he could be competing for trophies at international level..

As an Arsenal fan from Trinidad and Tobago, I hope that Flo Balogun decides to play for the USMNT. Southgate is a clown, just last week he lamented the lack of English talent in the youth ranks, but doesn’t call up Balogun on the back of an excellent season? Balogun would immediately become the main man for the US, guaranteed #9 starter and would be able to grow his brand in America. Go for it Flo! Clearly England don’t care enough for you to even give you a call up to St. George’s Park.

The world cup is 4 years away he doesnt have to make a decision now he can wait till he gets back to arsenal next season see how it goes and if he is scoring the goals and England still doesn’t call him up then the us will be a viable option

  • Dom L
    Dom L 2 months ago +18

Can't believe Southgate the muppet never called him up.
Smartest move would be to wait it out until the next International break in June.
By that time, the domestic season is done and if he finishes with 25+ goals, there's no way that even Southgate can ignore him.
Unless of course, he truly wants to play for the US.

    • Ulisses Mendoza

@Ulisses Mendoza and who says England doesn't want him? There's a lot more competition in England for places, and just because he isn't fast tracked into the senior squad don't mean he wouldn't be adored. Look at how Bellingham and Foden broke into the team, and look at them now.
It shouldn't be about game time, he should play for the country he feels a connection to most.

    • Artema
      Artema 2 months ago

@Dom L totally understand your point , it should be for whoever you feel you have a connection from, but let’s be honest, playing time matters for a lot of players , in this case , Balogun would almost me guaranteed a starting spot for the upcoming World Cup

England and Nigeria both start with world class no. 9s so he'd need to bide his time to represent either, Jaydon Sancho had to move to Manchester United to receive a call up so balagun would be an enigma if he got a England cap anytime soon. A message to Balogun: DON'T wait to play for England and go and play for the U.S.A instead, where you'll be much more appreciated there and you will be their main number 9 striker AT ALL TIMES.
And DON'T wait for Arteta to bring you back, because he clearly doesn't see your talents and he obviously has some kind of issue with you, and you should therefore go and sign for a big European club that plays champions league football where you can shine even more on the big stage. As long as Arteta is the Arsenal manager, he wont pick you! Move on with your life and go and sign for AC Milan instead and become that next star.
Arsenal and England will miss out on the next SUPERSTAR because of their Egos and terrible management of young talent
And Arteta to be sacked as Arsenal manager for being awful. EVEN IF ARSENAL WIN THE LEAGUE HE SHOULD BE SACKED!

Christian Pulisic looks like a broken man. He should leave Chelsea, he’s got alot of talent, it’s just untapped.

Southgate always plays Harry Kane, sometimes you can see that Kane is tired but this fool doesn't replace him, he must stay away from England he won't play

if he is smart he will avoid the USA team at all costs, the USA team first needs to hire a quality coach. Neither Berhalter or Hudson have a clue how to best use the players. Stay in Europe or go to Africa, those teams are much better.

How is that smart? He won’t even get a single minute of playing time. He won’t be a starter.
