At least Bowser can now take a breath, he doesn't have to deal with a supersonic Mario coming his direction

This was my favorite section of the whole video, where he talks about his medical experiences, popsicles, the power puff girls, and spices, and each topic nicely transitions into the next one. And while talking this entire time, he goes through some of seaside and all of luncheon and ruined. It might be stupid that this is my favorite part, but it is.

My favorite part was at the festival, when Pauline sang "It's freedom like you never knew" while Ant was retracing his steps because he accidentally went off the path.

I can feel the energy of a five year old being told to “sit still” emanating from his every move.

SmallAnt is the only person who can make playing a game normally as intended not normal.

First time I fought Mollusque-Lanceur I didn't know that he took damage from the Gushen, I thought the Gushen was just meant to remove the lava. So I beat him by uncapturing and groundpounding him every time the lava disappeared. It was pretty easy so I thought it was intended. My sheer horror at his refight in the mushroom kingdom made me realize I was wrong. Since it took place in the sky, I had no idea how I was expected to groundpound his head and survive.

This is the equivalent to following all traffic laws and speed limits when bored as hell in GTA

Smallant I just want you to know thag I’ve been arbitrarily avoiding super Mario Odyssey for years and arbitrarily decided to break that fast with this video. This was my first experience with supermario odyssey, speedrun or otherwise. Thank you for giving me such a wonderful first time.

i’m from australia, and i can tell you that we call popsicles different ways depending on their shape.
for example, if the popsicle is shaped like a pole or a stick, it’s called ice stick/pole. or if the popsicle is shaped like a rectangle, we call that ice block.

This is basically a anti speed run and the spice and popsicle rant was amazing

i’m embarrassed to say that my first speedrun of this game was about half an hour longer than this 😭

I could really relate to that appendicitis story, I had a similar thing happen to me. My parents were having dinner somewhere and my grandpa was looking after me and my siblings. My grandpa is a doctor so he instantly recognised it and called my parents. My dad rushed me to the hospital and they said if we arrived like 30 minutes later I would've died.

Hey Ant, just need to let you know, months later now, that you will need to do this run again for validation. You skipped an intended ledge/platform with arrows in luncheon kingdom. That was not Nintended.

This run made me realize that this game was literally created with unintentional paths in mind. That's awesome. Flexibility in a game is rad.

The only time I've actually played Mario Odyssey I followed the arrows precisely like this. I also used Toad for like 90% of the moons.

This is pain in its final form, especially for speedrunners

26 minutes of speedrunner passiv-agressivly trashtalking people who prefer glitchless runs

I don't speedrun myself when i play a game i always go intended. I like the game to deliver the experience the developers intended. I also typically only play a game once, a few if its something i really really love (ocarina, majora's mask, bioshock) ya know the typical classics. But! Speedruns are still great!
They are the culmination of a deeper love of a game. These guys play these games over and over and over and over discovering every little secret, every hidden gem, every glitch and quirk. Then find a way to take all these quirks etc. to find a line through the game so tight and so perfect that no form of casual gameplay could ever produce a time or result in the same galaxy.
And let me tell you people, seeing it happen? Well that's just fucking beauty incarnate.

This is technically not fully intended since the "dive" move was expected for you to only use in moon and after. (not joking there is a sign in moon that tells you how to dive as if you were gonna play the whole game with no dives)
