@Over easy eggs that’s a straight normie take, The overall popularity and replaceability is irrelevant to true fans. I'm happy to hear that he recognizes that he hasn't been consistent. That's been the biggest detriment in his career. I truly hope he can remain healthy and try to fight more consistently in the latter part of his career. He is going to be 35 years old in less than two months. It's now or never Conor.

The early days of Conor, his bravado and scathing “attacks” on his upcoming opponents really helped him. He’s easily one of the best at mind games. This veteran, more matured Conor is arguably just as menacing. He was this way against Cowboy, and finished the fight without a hair out of place. I’m hoping this’ll be the same outcome. A calm, focused and well fought bout.

    • Craigy
      Craigy 4 months ago +3

Yeah facts. If your going to say he’s the best at anything it has to be mind games, he pretty much already won most of his fights before they even started. Not that his striking wasn’t elite too in his run for titles

    • Dexter Haven
Dexter Haven 4 months ago +1

I like how DC even laughed when Conor surprised everyone with his talk before his first fight against Dustin: "He's a pea-brained little hillbilly from the Backass of nowhere." (DC's town too.)

    • Steve Miller
Steve Miller 4 months ago +10

Are you kidding me Cowboy wasn't a comeback fight that was someone they put in front of him so he could win for sure and the Casual fan might think he's still got it well he doesn't and putting Cowboy in front of him actually was a bad thing for Conor he shouldn't of felt like he accomplished anything after that joke of a fight with washed up Cowboy...lol not a hair out of place ha ha yeah it was Cowboy. Nate rocked him also and made Conor shoot for Nates legs coz he was about to get smashed and go down then Dustin omg twice and Khabib could beat him with his eyes closed starting on his knees. And there's a lot of fighters that will beat Conor and always has been. Conor was great at cutting to 145 and is not well rounded enough to be a real champ. How many times has he defended his belt ? That's not the sign of a true champion . Mayweather could of taken him out way earlier in the fight if he needed to. Conor was a weight cutter that talked trash to other fighters and the Casual fan liked that.

I'm so excited to hear him say that he's craving consistency. Sounds like he's got that hunger back that's been missing since the Mayweather fight and Proper 12. He never thought much of being a champion and defending a belt for a good run. He dreamed of wealth and escaping poverty and MMA was his means of doing it. Once he made 9 figures against Mayweather & the Proper 12 deal, he just hasn't been the same.

    • Doc Proc

He deserves all the respect regardless. He beat Mendes with a fucked knee, then destroyed Aldo and alvarez. People cry he never defended, why should he, he fought Mayweather in a showman fight and probably made more in that one fight than all the current champs have made in their entire careers 3 times over.
He might not be the GOAT in terms of skillset but nobody will ever do more for MMA than he did.

I really hope that he wins this upcoming fight against Michael, as long as this time around he maintains his calmness and composure. That is his biggest advantage in the octagon. During his last fight with Dustin, he was in a rush to knock him out and when things started going south for him, he lost his composure, became desperate and panicked, and ended up breaking his own leg. So, I hope this time around he takes time with his opponent and empty his mind without anticipating any outcome.

Depends on how he loses. He still is or was one of the best strikers we've ever seen. If he gets consistently dropped and KO'd, then I get it. But if he still able to bang on the feet, but loses to overpowering grapplers, it doesn't sting as much. I wanna see how he deals with guys like Fiziev and Gatheje.

He speaks of consistency as if he is in control of that. Obviously he was in control of his inconsistencies and decision making so what has happened, simply , is. Consistency is is an illusion in a world that is inconsistent and impermanent. May both Warriors leave the battlefield, enlightened with what they have been given and worked for and manifested. May there blessings rain on to all and may all curses be lifted and transmuted Higher, collectively .

It's really entertaining that Conor is here and Chandler is crazy enough by himself already! But I don't know if I am as excited as I would be if they had already had signed the contract to fight and there was a date set on it. Or if Conor's opponent was someone in the top 3 of either lightweight or welterweight like a Charles Oliveira, Justin Gaethje, Colby or Belal where we could see some real animosity and a potential title fight straight after. Conor taking so long to enter the USADA pool while just doing promotion like this (TUF) on the side doesn't get me as hyped up as knowing he'll fight a top contender soon unfortunately.

Always have been. A huge Conor fan. I’ve never bet against him in a fight except Diaz. But even that felt shaky for me. I think if he is in a good head space at the time of the fight and Chandler stays on his feet then Conor Will probably catch him and knock him out. If Chandler plays it smart and drags him down and keeps him down then he can win. But… Conor is extremely hard to get down and even then in the first 30 seconds he can pop back up very quickly especially if he gets scooted to the cage. So this one is extremely tricky to predict.
