Honestly, I give this broadcast a lot of credit. I thought it was gonna be super biased and whiny but they were actually very complimentary of Michigan. Respect
@Mitchell Bradley, Jr. Thanks for your comments M.B.J. I think your description of “a typical Wolverine fan “ , if such a person exists, has much in common with “typical fans” of other fans of teams in The Big Ten and outside the conference; with the exception of men’s and women’s ice hockey! I doubt hockey is big in the SEC or ACC or if their members even have hockey teams! I just don’t know about that. I’m loyal to my Alma Mater (Ohio State) & to the Big Ten in interconference play.
Those guys were actually really professional...was actually better broadcasting than a lot of TV guys but you could tell how much that game destroyed them.
@Aidxn yeah ...the radio part is a given....I was talking more about their commentary....not the play by play. Point is...I'm a Michigan fan and I would rather mute the TV and listen to the radio guys. That's a comment at how short the talent bench is for TV and the no talent hacks in front of a camera. There are a few good ones...a few.
@kenneth cortez If you actually watch it, Klatt said it wasn’t 88 it was actually Harrison Jr, before he saw what happened. These announcers were just fine. Clearly they didn’t see a guy get headbutted 15 yards off to the side
These guys are really good. OSU is lucky to have them. You have to have the perfect voice & tone for radio & they definitely have it. Salute to them from a Wolverines fan
The studio sound they have is immaculate. Bucks are fortunate to have them. The main guy should come work for Michigan. Doug's voice for Michigan is so squeaky at times it's really hard to listen to and make out what he's saying. 😑
As a Michigan fan, I feel that these two announcers did a very professional job and I tip my hat to them. They had class, made no excuses, no whining and the old what if, what if, that drives me nuts when some announcer fall to that. It is what it is.
@Blank Name these guys were calling Ohio State for boneheaded penalties the entire game so I am positive they just didn't see the TV replay. They are radio after all.
Being a Michigan fan, I can empathize with them. I have had that feeling many times over the years, watching Ohio destroy us. It does feel good to be on the other side though.
That first touchdown passed by McCarthy was unbelievable. He's backing up, throws the ball off his back foot while falling backwards and still manages to put a laser shot on the hands of the receiver with enough power and speed for the receiver to be able to make his move. Just a gorgeous throw
I listen to these guys driving back from Ann Arbor all the time when OSU has a different time slot than ours. They are fantastic announcers, and I appreciate them. Listened to them call the Maryland game, I knew what was going on the whole time. Super professional. They love football, and it shows.
The play-by-play guy was extremely professional. No, bad mouthing or trash talking as the game went on. Good crew and easy to listen to. Gave a real good visual of the game by each play. Great team.
A few minutes in and I gotta say this is a great listening experience. The play by play is super clear, and personally I like the old school way of doing it with more of a monotone voice than the Gus method.
They literally said they didn't see the personal foul, you know the one where the OSU player headbutts the Michigan player? Or what about them bitching about Michigan not being called for holding?
Yeah sounds way better than “sack time” I loved that guys personality he is a true Michigan man but my gosh his one liner calls on big plays can be very awkward or lackluster
I'm a Michigan Wolverine through and through but Paul Keels is one of the absolute best to ever do it , I'm sure the Buckeye faithful has him at "legendary status" , he's a great play by play man
I know a single play is not an indication of change. But that end-zone breakup is a play that feels to me as a step forward. We weren’t quite making that extra effort last year.
I liked listening to this even more because the OSU radio crew is so good and professional and recognizing of talent and a good effort even by their rival, which made the ass kicking all the better
Excellent edit. This broadcast team is excellent. Reasonably unbiased and professional. They knew both rosters. Play-by-play described formations and plays well (good for radio). Thanks for this.
I'm a Michigan fan but have the greatest respect for Ohio State as they are one of the greatest teams in the nation! I hope you see them in the playoffs because Ohio State deserves to be in the playoffs they had an excellent season!
I think many fellow Buckeye fans have thought this OSU team was as good as the 2019 team. I'm retired so I watched all the games and lots of video. I warned my friends for weeks that Michigan was going to win and that it would SHOCK many Ohio State fans. The victory machine of this team is the Michigan Offensive Line. I wish that commentators and sports media would recognize this and point it out much more. This O--Line from tight end to tight end magnifies the skill position players of Michigan, some of whom are considered good, not great. This Offensive Line is going to win the National Championship. It reminds me of the Nebraska 1995 O--Line. The defense is very good, but it is not the quality of the 1997 Michigan team, nor is the QB, nor receivers, the Offensive Line Play magnifies the play of those skill position players. It is why Michigan won't lose.
@Aegon they were to confident going into the TCU game, jj forced passes and TCU had great speed at corner. The o line was suspect of the awards they got. Didn't seem in sync after the first play of the game. Coaching let us down big time. Preparing for bowl games with a month off was apparently not crucial for Michigan staff. They looked green, like first game of the year jitters. Refs didn't help them, but you can't fumble the next play.
JJ is actually a great quarterback, he might need a little more practice on ball control but it’s understandable considering the typical Michigan offense, but we’ve all seen throughout this whole season that McCarthy has an arm and a great eye when forced to throw. But that’s not even what makes JJ a great QB, it’s his play making ability, and his legs and heart that make him a 5 star quarterback. The games against OSU and Purdue displayed this in spades. Out of the pocket he becomes the most dynamic QB in college football. I agree that all of this is magnified by the amazing O-line, but I think it’s a stretch to say Michigans skill players aren’t great, Edwards, Johnson, McCarthy, all 5 star players. Disclaimer; I only leave out Corum because of the injury..
Hard to compare against the 97 team, wasn't it like 10 or 12 of them ended up in the NFL and 3 or 4 hall of famers? This o line is definitely the best, but I give a lot of credit to JJ. Cade McNamara had that o line also and didn't get it done as good as JJ does.
I realize that they are probably way more excited about Ohio State's highlights, but I can't help but be super impressed with these announcers. They are as professional and classy as any in the business
Michael Barret makes a great play, and then notice the expresssion on that guys face. That's GREAT videography of the game. Solid gold aces to that videographer. Such a tight reaction shot. All gold to that person that got that shot.
Outstanding job of calling the game. Top notch I'm a Michigan fan,BTW! Paul Keels is the consummate professional and Jim Lachey is a first class act . Excellent job guys!
thanks so much for your hard work in splicing the TV broadcast w/ the OSU radio call. i think i've seen highlights about 15 times, and i'm still smiling every time i see them thanks again

Golden voice. Love listening to these 2. Very objective. Have watched this replay multiple times. Paul really knows the players. Mad props from Mich fan.
respect for these announcers for sure. I'm elated we finally beat OSU IN Columbus.. it had been 22 freaking years since we last did that. Lets go Blue!
Most play by play people are good, especially radio personalities. This play by play announcer for Ohio State is very good, the best I've heard since Frank Beckman.
I miss Frank. He had a great voice, described the action well, and was reasonably objective, giving the opposition their due despite being an obvious partisan. After suffering through Brandstatter the last few years, I think Karsch is serviceable but doesn't have great pipes. Paul Keels is tremendous; can't say enough good about him. Professional and smooth. One of the best i've ever heard.
Radio calls are fun. They're generally faster-talking and more descriptive than TV guys, because they have to paint the picture for those who don't have the visual. Main play-by-play guy here has a fantastic voice, too.
Seriously solid radio broadcast. Really good pxp - focus on the action, describes the formations and play, really good voice. Color guy doesn’t overdo it. Honestly better than U-M’s radio crew. 🤷🏻♂️
My hometown radio station in Ohio carries the Buckeyes every Saturday. If it wasn’t THAT team, I would listen start to finish - Paul Keels is that good at his job. Since it’s an OSU blowout 90% of the time, I turn it off after a couple minutes. Listening to Paul Keels call a Michigan blowout is a 25-minute eargasm!! 😍😍〽️
These guys should be television broadcasters. Who cares if nobody knows who they are. Just a great call is what people want to hear. These guys do that.
Paul Keels is honestly the best in the business. As a former journalist, he does a great job being professional and objective - which the same can't be said for the Michigan radio team.
Such great crowd reaction shots, great edit! Also, very professional radio announcers. Pretty impartial except for saying the DPI in the endzone was on an uncatchable pass. If you get a hand on it, it's not uncatchable lol.
@Jason Moose Don’t be a blind fan. That happened within the sidelines, not on the field of play. Easy to miss. I didn’t see it until the replay was shown. The guys doing radio don’t always see the replays. They try to let what they see live in front of them dictate their calls. I’m a Michigan fan, but I don’t always assume the worst about my rivals. That’s just stupid fandom, and I hate it. People need to use their brains.
Michigan fan here. Very good broadcast. Respectful. Nice job, Buckeyes. And I'm sorry, that wasn't pass interference in the end zone...that's something that would only be called on the Lions.
I would love to have an option to watch games with radio announcers on the tv like we used to be able to set up before broadcast delays. I love the more descriptive style and less irrelevant banter which is required when the audience is assumed to not be able to see anything.
I actually really like these guys. You can tell for they're for OSU but they arent biased and have good commentary. No excuses or complaining, very nice call. Got my respect.
Love seeing the respect finally given to our squad! The rivalry is alive and I know OSU is gonna come back swinging! 2023 gonna be another rough year for the Butteyes we jist smacked them with the exact same team that'll be here next year except wer gonna have Erik ALL the best TE in the country behind #19 for GA
Honestly, I give this broadcast a lot of credit. I thought it was gonna be super biased and whiny but they were actually very complimentary of Michigan. Respect
Cannot for rematch with Ohio state 🏈 2023:: Ohio state 🏈 fans pick your poison Michigan 🏈;;; or ;;Georgia 🏈 Alabama 🏈 in playoffs 2023. ; laugh laugh
There was some understandable bias but most announcers are professionals
Agreed. I truly enjoyed listening to these announcers.
you know these guys gotta be dying inside watching their team getting run over. 😅
Being an Michigan Fan in Ohio those two guys have always be class towards the other team.. the referees and conference is another story
@Charles Grove oh okay
@Mark Hall look above your head
No objective coverage
These guys are actually a really good radio crew. Thought this would be 25 minutes of excuses and crying. Respect to these guys.
The lead announcer is actually much better than Doug karsh.
Minnesota Vikings come to mind
Love Ohio State, but there secondary is terrible! Most years Michigan, or any other team would not have done this to our defense!
@kenneth cortez If you actually watch it, Klatt said it wasn’t 88 it was actually Harrison Jr, before he saw what happened. These announcers were just fine. Clearly they didn’t see a guy get headbutted 15 yards off to the side
@Skippy the Alien wasn’t whining about holding dummy. Just implied that it was. We won by 3 scores, I could give a shit how it happened🙄
These guys are really good. OSU is lucky to have them. You have to have the perfect voice & tone for radio & they definitely have it. Salute to them from a Wolverines fan
@Jam City agreed. Doug is great for Michigan and does his hosting job well but as far as announcing he just doesn’t have the voice for it.
Yes thank you guys, classy guys
@Dominic Verne Wow, no doubt, these guys are awesome, I miss Frank Beckman, he sounded very similar.
yeah I’ve been listening to these guys my whole life, they’re great. Very distinct strong voices and very respectful
These guys are phenomenal broadcasters. Concise, clear, informative, unbiased, and all-around entertaining. Great show
@Blank Name these guys were calling Ohio State for boneheaded penalties the entire game so I am positive they just didn't see the TV replay. They are radio after all.
@Ben D. Morris they could have done better.
The broadcasters were biased, of course, but as fair as can be hoped for when broadcasting the most important game of the year
They are biased I did not see any swinging must have been some talking on the play where the osu player head butted the Michigan player
I’ll say this: Play by Play guy has a great voice for radio.
Face for radio also?
Ransom had the worst game imaginable...
Michigan fan here. That's the Great Paul Keels. He is as good as you will ever listen to.
@Online Sports Talk He is NOT monotone. He sounds fantastic. GO BLUE!
Paul keel is very professional. He called the Bengals and reds games too.
As a Michigan fan, I think these guys are better than our radio call by a wide margin.
Yeah begrudgingly I have to agree, these guys are what you should find if you look up how to do a radio call and I am very jealous
The shots of the OSU fans in the 4th quarter are priceless.
@Free Smith it's actually illegal over there.
Ohio state football fans think ohio state football is invincible
😂😂😂
Being a Michigan fan, I can empathize with them. I have had that feeling many times over the years, watching Ohio destroy us. It does feel good to be on the other side though.
@Gilbert Don't forget their cousins. They have their cousins to marry.
Hard to hide the pain, but these guys did a great job. As a Michigan fan I thought they were fantastic.
That first touchdown passed by McCarthy was unbelievable. He's backing up, throws the ball off his back foot while falling backwards and still manages to put a laser shot on the hands of the receiver with enough power and speed for the receiver to be able to make his move. Just a gorgeous throw
One of the best Michigan highlight plays of the game was the restraint shown after receiving a headbutt. Not only gentlemanly, but a smart play.
I listen to these guys driving back from Ann Arbor all the time when OSU has a different time slot than ours. They are fantastic announcers, and I appreciate them. Listened to them call the Maryland game, I knew what was going on the whole time. Super professional. They love football, and it shows.
Very classy guys as a Michigan fan It is hard to keep your cool when your team takes a beating
As a Michigan fan I gotta admit Ohio State has some pretty solid and professional commentators. The one guys voice is made for the radio.
In all honesty, OSU's radio guy has a great voice and smooth delivery. He's very good.
The play-by-play guy was extremely professional. No, bad mouthing or trash talking as the game went on. Good crew and easy to listen to. Gave a real good visual of the game by each play. Great team.
Actually a lot more composed and respectful than I thought they would be. Shoutout to them, as a UofM fan
A few minutes in and I gotta say this is a great listening experience. The play by play is super clear, and personally I like the old school way of doing it with more of a monotone voice than the Gus method.
@Hudson Frey For TV, yeah. These guys are radio
Nah man come on Gus is the best is calls are so cool and exciting even for the opposing team
They literally said they didn't see the personal foul, you know the one where the OSU player headbutts the Michigan player? Or what about them bitching about Michigan not being called for holding?
This guy has an amazing voice, buckeyes are lucky to have him
Michigan had him as well, 1981 thru 1987....
I wish Michigan had radio announcers as clean as smooth sounding as this. Very nice. GG Ohio State
Yeah sounds way better than “sack time” I loved that guys personality he is a true Michigan man but my gosh his one liner calls on big plays can be very awkward or lackluster
I never get tired of watching this beat down. The announcers were pretty calm and cool throughout. 😊
As a Michigan fan that dude has the perfect radio voice.
3:18 I love that "oh jeez" when he sees Johnson was wide open LOL
I mentioned that a minute ago. He knew it.
I'm a Michigan Wolverine through and through but Paul Keels is one of the absolute best to ever do it , I'm sure the Buckeye faithful has him at "legendary status" , he's a great play by play man
Totally agree with everyone else. That broadcast team was as professional as can be. Much respect to them.
I know a single play is not an indication of change. But that end-zone breakup is a play that feels to me as a step forward. We weren’t quite making that extra effort last year.
At 3:21. Second radio announcer…..”oh geez…”. 😭😭😭😭😭😭 priceless. Go Blue!!!
Best radio voice in college football.
Go Blue!!!
Thanks for that comment, Im a dissatisfied OSU fan who just wants to say 'Good Luck to the Wolverines vs Purdue' on saturday night
I'm a Michigan fan but have the greatest respect for Ohio State as they are one of the greatest teams in the nation! I hope you see them in the playoffs because Ohio State deserves to be in the playoffs they had an excellent season!

Very hard to compare to the 97 team. RBs, DTs all favor 22.

As a Michigan fan, very impressed with this call.
Really liking the OSU play by play guy.
Props to these guys. Real pros who didn't make excuses. Great job.
Fun Fact: Paul Keels once was Michigan play by play , 1981-1987...
Excellent broadcast team and call of the game. I actually would prefer these guys over the national TV team! Go Blue!
impossible to watch without laughing. props to them for being good sports. GO BLUE.
A reasonably objective play by play by these two guys. I wasn't expecting that, and I give them credit for calling it like is was. Go Blue!
Michael Barret makes a great play, and then notice the expresssion on that guys face. That's GREAT videography of the game. Solid gold aces to that videographer. Such a tight reaction shot. All gold to that person that got that shot.
Helluva straight call. UM alumni. No homer. These boys are pros.
Outstanding job of calling the game. Top notch I'm a Michigan fan,BTW! Paul Keels is the consummate professional and Jim Lachey is a first class act . Excellent job guys!
Very good play by play . I wouldnt mind if they did the Michigan play by play .
Actually, Paul Keels was once Michigan play by play , 1981 thru 1987...
Not a buckeye fan, but I live in Ohio and listen to a fair amount of Buckeye broadcasts. Paul Keels and Jim Lachey are excellent
Very professional broadcast. Sort of a homage to old school commentating, too.
Great broadcast. Respect. Great radio voices as well. Go Blue!
I'm impressed with these guys. Janson and Deirdorf would be going Apeshit about now, but you know is heartbreaking to watch for these guys
Professional performance by the announcers. Have to respect it
It's crazy to think that Ohio State has a chance to get in the playoffs after this performance
That was a decisive win for Michigan.
Two years straight
Im a huge michigan fan and ill say they are very very professional broadcast team..they deserve a huge shout out
thanks so much for your hard work in splicing the TV broadcast w/ the OSU radio call. i think i've seen highlights about 15 times, and i'm still smiling every time i see them
thanks again

Boom
A lot of respect to these guys coming from a Wolverine fan. Might just see y’all again
Lots of respect for your broadcast team, they are fantastic.
Golden voice. Love listening to these 2. Very objective. Have watched this replay multiple times. Paul really knows the players. Mad props from Mich fan.
Better than our broadcasters….
My gosh, the pipes on the play-by -play announcer, golden vocals.
Paul Keils is an amazing broadcaster. Ohio is filled with sports play-by-play callers that are outstanding.
Except that one a$$whole on E$Pn
packed with greats honestly
Very professional in their booth. Don's 2nd long TD was soul crushing I bet. 7:11 left at that point. 🔥🏈
A UM fan here......These are two of the best. Wish Michigan had two that were even close to them.
@Lido Shuffle I don't remember Paul Keels at Michigan. The voice I do remember is the late Frank Beckmann - Voice of Michigan Football 1981-2013
Well, 1981 thru 1987, Michigan did have Paul Keels as their play by play...
Great job on the call Paul and company. Michigan fan here but I’ve always enjoyed his broadcasts
1st GO BLUE!
2nd these two are pros, actually enjoyed listening to them call the game
Keels is a great announcer.
Michigan fan, listen to these guys a lot during the season. Pros.
These two were fantastic on the call.
respect for these announcers for sure. I'm elated we finally beat OSU IN Columbus.. it had been 22 freaking years since we last did that. Lets go Blue!
Solid professional sounding crew. Not just a couple homers.
Paul Keils is a class act. Paints a picture with words.
That 4 and 2 was a huge stop right before Johnsons first touchdown 〽️🏈💪🏾💪🏾
This play by play guy has some pipes on him. What a voice.
Very professional. Knew the players. Great voices. Enjoyable listen.
I could listen to these guys all day.
All the non-OSU fans learning how good Paul Keels is. Dude is a consummate professional. Love him.
Radio calls are fun. They're generally faster-talking and more descriptive than TV guys, because they have to paint the picture for those who don't have the visual.
Main play-by-play guy here has a fantastic voice, too.
Outstanding Broadcasting by both Announcers 👏
Nice to see so many UM fans complimenting this broadcast crew. Very professional and extremely prepared and knowledgeable of the opponent. Go Blue.
If Ohio state beats Georgia and Michigan beats tcu this will probably be one of the most memorable college football seasons of all time
Hearing the broadcasters souls be harvested in the beginning and them be true professionals the rest of the way. Great job.
Wow-great call...that is an outstanding game-call talent...light years better than Michigan's.
Haha.. I miss Frank Beckman
No one can top Ufer unfortunately
Paul Keels used to work AM radio in Detroit. He's a really good, professional, play-by-play man.
Seriously solid radio broadcast. Really good pxp - focus on the action, describes the formations and play, really good voice. Color guy doesn’t overdo it. Honestly better than U-M’s radio crew. 🤷🏻♂️

These guys should be television broadcasters. Who cares if nobody knows who they are. Just a great call is what people want to hear. These guys do that.
Paul Keels is honestly the best in the business. As a former journalist, he does a great job being professional and objective - which the same can't be said for the Michigan radio team.
Great announcer for the "Ohio" squad! Very professional, awesome pipes.
Such great crowd reaction shots, great edit!
Also, very professional radio announcers. Pretty impartial except for saying the DPI in the endzone was on an uncatchable pass. If you get a hand on it, it's not uncatchable lol.
Agree with most commenters that this is one of the best announcing teams I've heard in college football. Better than most I've heard in pro too.
These guys sound WAY better than what we have. Our announcer sounds like he got kicked in the nuts or like someone has him in a sleeperhold.
"Must have been some talking" 🤣🤣🤣🤣
@Jason Moose Don’t be a blind fan. That happened within the sidelines, not on the field of play. Easy to miss. I didn’t see it until the replay was shown. The guys doing radio don’t always see the replays. They try to let what they see live in front of them dictate their calls. I’m a Michigan fan, but I don’t always assume the worst about my rivals. That’s just stupid fandom, and I hate it. People need to use their brains.
@Jason Moose it happened on the sidelines and the tv guys didn't see it either until they were shown the replay
@Jason Moose why would he?
Right I guess he didn't see the helmet to helmet head butt 🙄
@Bill Khan even the fox tv guys didn't see it until replay.
Classy broadcast. Respect
OSU broadcasters were very fair, professional. I’ve listened to them before on Sirius, I have always been impressed with them.
I was a little surprised. I was expecting a complete and total shat show from this OSU broadcast. Congrats to them for being true pros.
@Peyton Spencer yea wer good we don't need all our true freshman gonna be a stud!!!!
Unfortunately we won’t have Erik all. But we got other great TE’s without a doubt!
