It LOOKS good, but doesn't it also feel like just a lot of foam and fake? it's more expensive but much more worth it to do all this with real wood; and eventually use real books... Because at the end of the day, you can get closeup to it and feel it, and it feels much more real with wood. I wouldn't be satisfied with it feeling so light and foamy and you basically can't interact with it much and up close in person the books look fake and it all feels so fake like a prop. It's not a study room if you can't really use it, it's just eye candy. basically traded a bunch of usable wall space before for unusable wall space. it looks kewler, but at the end it lost it's point; it's just a waste of 50% of a whole room in your house, because you can only look at it, the drawers don't work, and everything feels fake and flimsy. You have to feel like you're walking on eggshells in that room because you can easily mess up one of the painted foam pieces.

      Izyl Month ago +89

@Anonyyou answered it yourself. It’s more expansive. The purpose of this project is just to bring out the creativity, it’s not supposed to be usable since it’s a witch study room. This is more like a cool background to have in her videos. I agree it probably feels weird expecting to touch heavy wood but felt light foam instead, tho it’s not like it’s bad. The result turned out amazing and it does not lose it’s point bc the whole point of it is that it’s not supposed to be useable.

I completely agree with that you said ahout IKEA. It's always been my dream to have a beautiful old worldy, wizardy style room to house my collections of old books and trinkets and IKEA doesn't do justice to my desire to showcase what I have in a more Louis Treize style/ wizard way. Wait, you actually built all that? Just stumbled upon your channel today, and while watching another one of your videos, I immediately thought that must be green screen, and gave it no further thought. Then I watched another one of your videos and noticed that the background looked more convincing than mere green screen trickery,, so I started digging a bit deeper and found this video where you actually built the whole thing. Holy Lutefisk! Great work! One small tip that coud help stuff go a bit faster. When you're carving the wood and stone, if you want to "grow" the cracks, just carve and then use a heat gun on it's lowest settings OR a hair dryer. It'll "open" the cracks a bit easier. Do it outside though and be careful NOT to get the heat source too close. It'll catch the foam on fire and releases some nasty fumes...but if your careful, you can save a lot of time AND make it look pretty amaze-balls. Nice work!

Looks absolutely amazing. Would love for a room like that at my home. But for one main reason. While all the small details are awesome to look at, they are a very annoying to dust :-)

It would have been soo cool if the shelfs were all secret doors that hidden the crafting tools, keeping the room as a "craft room" but that looked like a wizard room

That's absolutely epic. Love how all the books came together so well! And the staircase! And the window! And the outdoor scene! And i've totally bookmarked to go to that antique market :D. Well done, guys.

Congratulations for your final result🎉🎉😊. I think that if you want you could recover a part of the inversion if you use that room as a libary or as a place to sell something related to that context or just use it to promote your ability of improving a room.

That looks so amazing. That window is also really cool especially how it can move to show different parts of an image based on where you put a sensor so it’s like you’re moving to allow to see more of the edge like an actual window. I can imagine doing some really fun stuff with that combined with a couple trackers and modes for them as well as a timer or something to sync it to actual time of day so the sun moves in the virtual world in line with the real sun

AMAZING! I especially love the screen window.... good way to add light and nature into a room that either is in a basement or doesn't have enough windows lol, also side note: I noticed at least some of the shelves are too shallow for real books? Was kind of hoping they would function as real bookshelves aswell... maybe someday filling them up with real books (my dad used to have like 50 some actual books). Regardless the end result is absolutely gorgeous!

There's a reality TV show about home makeovers, and in them, sometimes they'd do the kids rooms. Being kids, they had excellent taste, asking for things like racecar beds and princess towers. As a child I always wanted to be on that show, so I could request a wizard room. This is that dream realised.

It’s so beautiful, az only sad thing is that it really is a set, I just made a Trojan horse prop with similar technique and it looks super realistic until something happens, like it gets stranded and the light colored XPS shows underneath, but if you don’t intend to use than it’s gonna look amazing for long enough 😍😍😍

An idea is to make the "window" dual-purpose as a clock. The iconic clock probably feels out of place in this fantasy realm so it will probably need a substitute.
