- Wow, finally made a new video! Resident Evil 4 is one of my all time favourite games, so of course I had strong enough feelings on the remake to make a video on.
I got a little annoying in this one and argued some of my points kinda badly but it's done.

I found that aiming is the fastest way to turn. Keep moving where you want to go but move the camera to where you want to aim. Makes movement much easier and eliminates much of the sluggishness and excessive movement.
I really loved this game. I literally played it 14 times in a row before i started getting bored with it. I did the same thing with re3 and 4 played them non stop over and over. Going to be so strange when i go to play the original again
I was pretty apprehensive about this remake too. There are 3 things that won me over before release.
First, I saw that the trailers showed a lot of gameplay. A lot of modern AAA devs tend to put out trailers that look great, but are all cinematics (Ubisoft is a good example of this). Showing as much gameplay as Capcom did was a good sign because it showed that the remake had the original's mechanics along with new ones, and also showed that they actually had faith in the gameplay to stand on its own.
Second, I saw an interview with Game Informer where the devs said the were just as worried about the prospect of an RE4 remake as I was. That showed they knew what they were getting into, and that they wouldn't make any major changes without serious consideration.
Third, the demo was really good. It felt like the original's opening but better. Putting out demos is another thing that most AAA devs don't do much anymore, for similar reasons to the trailer thing I mentioned in my first point. Letting us get a look at the gameplay itself really showed that Capcom had actual faith in the game. After playing it, the last of my doubts about the remake were gone.
Also I liked the more exploration chapters because I marathoned the game in one go, so those were a nice break from the intensity that most of the rest of the game was up to that point. If you're not playing in larger sessions, I can see how they wouldn't be as fun, but when you experience the whole game in larger chunks they feel like a good reprieve to catch your breath.
Funny enough, the Italian and Portuguese voice acting for Ada is actually really good, especially Portuguese it sounds natural coming from her.
This was a honest and true review 👍.. Chasing those S plus ranks.. The Quests and treasure hunts takes a backseat for sure..
Chapter 4 is fun and peaceful.. for some reason..
Exactly the type of content my algorithm fails to provide. Disagree on a few points, but overall you said just what I was thinking about it.
Can't wait to see more videos from you!
Yeah you killed this man. Awesome vid
The gameplay is a pretty serious downgrade in the remake. The original RE4 had combat mechanics on par with halo. The villagers all beelined for you from anywhere on the map until they get within a certain range of you. That meant you were always dealing with huge crowds. The melee mechanic was something you had to engage with to conserve ammo, especially on professional which is the difficulty one should play on. But it wasnt that simple because other enemies may push you or staggered enemies may stumble back into the crowd making you change priorities. Ranged enemies were huge threats because you cant move while aiming which meant you had to very good at shooting projectiles or reposition. I played the demo and found the gameplay was too dumbed down and the graphics and new voice actors did not add enough for me to bother.
I have to disagree with you about the pacing, I think that if it was non-stop action the whole time it would exhaust the player. The moments of down time are still filled with interesting things to see and do. I was just telling a friend of mine about how well paced this game is and that I loved every minute of it. I think that pacing in this case is quite subjective whereas you obviously enjoy non-stop action the whole time and someone like me appreciated the slower more methodical moments inbetween the action.
When it comes to staying still and not moving around the map being a bad thing I think this may be because you have played the original a million times and are a lot more familiar with this game than the average player because I personally felt the opposite way, if I stayed in one spot for too long I would get overwhelmed so I would constantly move around killing enemies as I went along which was extremely satisfying.
Re4 remake is the first game in a long time that got me hooked to the point where I wanted to play it as soon as I woke up and I would find myself still playing the game at 5am which hasn't happened to me in many many years, I prefer to take my time on the first run in any game searching every nook and cranny so my first playthrough took 36hours and I then went on to complete a bunch of the challenges during subsequent runs and only stopped playing the game after 110 hours played because there was very little challenge left and I had unlocked everything. 110 hours of quality gameplay is way more than anyone can reasonably ask for out of a single player game without bordering on being unhealthy obsessed.
To me this is the perfect video game it is complete from start to finish it was satisfying to play and the feel of the game was great, I was engaged and entertained at all times, it has tons of replay value and i only started to get a bit bored with the gameplay after over 100 hours played. What more could anyone want from a video game? This game is a win anyway you look at it and I am grateful that it exists especially in a world were so many AAA games are just blatant cash grabs disguised as a game. 10/10 all day long 😊👍
i disagreed w almost anything but the saddler boss fight bit
Finally no red and white words in this thumbnail 😂
It's okay, I don't like Krauser's voice either. Sounds more like a gruff biker than a grizzled veteran.
1:50 everyone else wants a remake that is just like the original but better, see the games that were rebooted or changed a lot, people always complains
A good amount of this review is just you nit-picking about irrelevant personal preferences and contradicting yourself, like when you talked about how remake shouldn't be an exact copy with better graphics yet, you kept complaining about how things are different...
Hey, i'm your 50th subscriber!
Damn bro turn yo mic up lol
Hey man audio levels are mysterious
RE1 Remake: can replace the original
RE2 Remake: decent but not better than the original.
RE3 Remake: fucking piece of shit
RE4 Remake: great
RE5: Sheva does not need an herb.
0:55 what are you gay?
Who the hell told you that the enemies speak the wrong Spanish for Spain? I’m a fluent speaker and the Spanish is correct for the region 🤦 why are you taking without knowing the facts ?
I guess I was wrong for blindly believing all those people, articles, forum posts, videos and that one Spanish guy I knew who said that the spanish used in the original Resident Evil 4 is Latin American spanish. I suppose this means that the remake changing the language to Castilian spanish is also wrong.
In any case, thank you random youtube commenter for setting things straight

The remake is nowhere near as good as the original.
The fact that everyone is slobbing the knob of the remake is truly baffling.
Do gamers nowadays not value gameplay mechanics or something??
As someone who finished the original RE4 over 40 times, I can understand why a growing majority just love the remake RE4 more. Ashley is a much better & likable character in the remake. Leon's visible strain and PTSD while getting the job done is considered better character development along with his link Krauser, who also gets better character development. Being able to shoot and move is the much preferable choice for most gamers along with the knife parrying. RE4 is also much more challenging especially in professional difficulty along with several puzzles that were largely missing in original RE4. Ashley's playable section in remake is much more difficult than original. The only downgrades that are worth mentioning are the less screen time of Saddler and Salazar and their less memorable voice acting. Ada's English voice acting is also less memorable than original version. Aside from those, the remake as a whole is just much better than original. I've so far finished RE4 remake 4 times.
The problem we have as humans is that we only think about things from the past in terms of the way they made you feel at the time and at the time the original was so good and different compared to anything else that it rightfully so made people feel so much love for the game but fast forward 20yrs and even if the remake only improved the controls which it definitely did it would be an improvement. The remake will never live upto your memory of how the original made you feel when you first played it no matter how good of a game the remake is. The fact that people love the remake completely makes sense when you look at the current state of modern AAA games, this remake is a complete game from start to finish with near 0 bugs and was obviously made with love and passion, why would you want people not to love this game? It's not a money grab like so many others are today it's just a good solid fun and satisfying video game, it reminds me why I feel in love with gaming all those years ago, it just gives you so much fun and enjoyment.
