Did this with my girlfriend 3 months before I proposed. I took out a big white board and we sat for 3 hours talking about values, kids, money, sex, where to live, religion, voting, etc. we’ve been married 8 years now with 3 kids. She wanted 6 kids I wanted 1-2 we settled on 3 with potential of adoption along with up to 3 dogs, one must be a rescue.

Amusingly enough, female anatomy has no bearing over the child's sex. It's impossible for a woman to be unable to have girls, and not boys, or the other way around, but men can have a complication that prevents children of a specific sex.

The 8 hours can change to 4 hours, the children could go from 3 to 0.
