Tavarish, I've been watching you for a couple years now and have to say in the only way I can, congratulations!!!! Not necessarily on your success because that was bound to happen. But on being the kind of man that truly deserves to be where he's at. Not many like you in the world and I appreciate being able to watch a man like you succeed. What you did for Jared was truly inspiring and I just wanted to say it. I watch not necessarily because of the build but because a good man is doing it. I wish you all the best and more. I'm sure you've made your dreams a reality so what ever they've become now I'm sure you'll reach that goal as well. Sincerely. Graham

You had me at Maz. When I saw that trident, it felt like Christmas for me. I love Maseraties, but I have no illusions about their reliability. (It really depends on who owned Maserati that year.) The way some people wax on about Alpha Romeo, or Lancia. (Not going to name names, you know who I mean.) That's how I feel about Maseraties.

    • Psiberzerker
      Psiberzerker 2 years ago

I agree on unreliable being better for Luxury cars. At least sports cars, or off-roaders are fun to watch, not breaking down. With luxury, you just got "Yup, very comfortable, rides smoothly..." Then, a few miles later "Yup, still comfortable, and riding very smoothly." You just end up swapping the adverbs around, to pad out a half hour segment, or find somewhere scenic to drive, and give the camera crew something to do.

You must have had a unicorn. People around me had them, and they were terrible cars. It was not just things related to the drivetrain, it was stupid stuff like the comfort module, locks, weather stripping. Heck one even lost a wheel liner in the rear when the car was six months old just on his way to work in rush hour traffic.
A very bleak time in VAG history. It's the Audi equivalent of the VW Golf Mk V.

These kind of cars come in 2 types: 1. owned by a well-off elderly couple that just keeps their car as long as it runs and takes perfect care of it 2. Some wannabe douche who doesnt understand how expensive the upkeep of a luxury car is and therefore doesnt do any of the suggested maintenance, until the car is barely functional and he moves to the next shitbox.

It took the Top Gear guys several years to reach this level and about a decade to reach their peak that we've come to love so much. At this rate by 2022 Jeremy, James and Richard will be out of a job, as Car Trek is quickly catching up...

The thing is most cars arent that unreliable as long as everything gets fixed with OEM spec, but once cars get all these ghetto-fixes of small problems they develop often a kind of snowball effect starts to happen. So excelent choice of cars that dont have just this snowball effect happening but be unreliable as is, as they came from the factory. Those are pretty hard to find :D
