The crew gets into with Shaq to discuss how he transitioned from playing football as a tight end to playing basketball as a center, his so called "beef" with Kevin Durant, how Kareem Abdul-Jabbar
motivated him to be great, to explaining how him and Charles Barkley stay together no matter the heated conversations they get into. Shaq goes on to explain why he goes at athletes like Kevin Durant, Spida Mitchell, even Kobe Bryant, and many more DOGS, states he has "professional jealousy" towards the GOAT, Lebron James, and teaches us about his business decisions and investments he's made.

It’s amazing to see Shaq being so open and honest about his feelings towards LeBron. It takes a lot of courage to admit jealousy and it shows how much he respects LeBron’s talent and achievements.👏

I think the issue is that they see themselves as media now. At first the conversations felt more like locker room vibes, but now they feel like normal media interviews after a game

    • Ravens Nation 96
Ravens Nation 96 2 months ago

They are media. They aren't athletes anymore and moved on to other ventures in life. Media is front and center for them and they have a fanbase that followed them from their playing days and even more.

    • Jay 3
      Jay 3 2 months ago +12

@Ravens Nation 96 nah, I think you missed the point. They're former athletes, so you'd think the conversations would be a bit more lax. By saying their media, I'm also saying that their questions are a bit to leading now as if they're trying to lead the guest in a certain direction rather than asking questions to learn more about the guest and their interests

    • Dre

@Jay 3 what people fail to consider is that most pro athletes have degrees and expertise in certain areas other than sports. Questions shouldn’t be more lax in fact they should be more intricate and insightful.

I still got a picture of me wearing his orlando jersey lol I cried when he went to the Lakers but I stayed with him and became a fan of any team he went to. A lot of people allow the "look" of something to dictate how they think. The same way people think Bron doesn't play in the clutch is the same way folks thought he wasn't scorer... even though his lifetime average prior to milestone scoring recorded said otherwise. Dude has more clutch moment made shots than everyone else yet and still people think he runs from it... crazy

    • corey thomas
corey thomas 2 months ago +5

      Exactly

    • smalways
      smalways 2 months ago +3

He has more "clutch" made shots because, he's played in more close games. His percentage in clutch moments is much worse than his comparable peers. Yet again... all of his stats and records are based on longevity. The stats that truly tell the tale are averages, percentages, wins, losses and rings.

    • Harlan
      Harlan 2 months ago +6

@smalwaysbut you could say the law of averages are truer when given a higher sample. Therefore Lebron is goated cuz he consistently balls at goat caliber

@Harlan No. You're clearly not understanding.

    • Jonathan Berrien
Jonathan Berrien 2 months ago +3

@smalways its harder to maintain high averages and percentages over longer periods of time. Kobe also played 20 seasons and Bron isn't even finished with his 20th season yet he has more clutch shots then him.

@HiiiPowerHabits Dame is also on a bad team. Dame has yet to have anybody on that team to match his work ethic. Hence the comment I made about Donavan. Utah and the Cavs are both trash. When Donavan went down in the playoffs willing himself to play while hurt, nobody stepped up. Truth is Truth and that’s what Shaq was pointing to. Not that Donavan is trash, he needs to develop his pippin.

Whenever Shaq talks about being a big bro and the criticism is really *LOVE* he’s talking about a lot of players but one in specific is Javelle McGee. Shaq always spotlighted him on Shaqtin a fool but it was all out of Love. Javelle took it personal. And that’s the difference between todays generation and the old school players. The old school would’ve took that criticism and said man “unc Shaq got so much love he’s pickin on me to light a fire”. There’s an old saying…it’s when the firefighters _arent_ picking on you that’s when you know you need to worry. It’s tough love.

comparing lebron’s move to miami with kd’s move to golden state is so beyond off base. yes lebron created a “super team” but he was also facing the spurs dynasty at the time so competition was balanced. kd took the golden state warriors to a game 7, lost, then continued to join the 73-9 team that spanked him the year prior; leaving his teammate and brother russ in the process.

I love Shaq and his transparency. Always came off as authentic. Why be Lebron when you can be relatable. We only acknowledge Lebron's sportsmanship. We adore Shaq because of his personality, humanitarian efforts, genuiness, and sense of humor!! Shaq is well received and known outside of sports. I think that impact is way more valid. Shaq over Lebron any day for me. Those skills gone dwindle as Lebron gets older, but Shaq's personality is forever! I hope he continues to be endorsed so we can see way more of him! We love Shaq! And we also love seeing his random ass around ATL lol! 🙌🏽♥️

i’m so tired of hearing this narrative, first of all shaq did put in work but just for his strength because that’s all he was good for because he had no actual skill. second off you can’t be the greatest big man if you offer very little rebounding and defense for how big you are and are completely useless when you are not 5ft away from the basket

Definitely just underperformed. Had he made free throws he would’ve avg 40 a game. Had he stayed in better shape in the 2000’s lakers win more

    • terrell roberson
      terrell roberson 2 months ago

@Metalcore Mania underperformed???? free throws???? I'm saying that like Allen Iverson said practice? practice you wanna talk about free throws??? who was the most dominant player back in Shaq area because jordan was gone and penny was on the rise but not without Shaq could i be more correct in fact when Shaq went to the Lakers what did he say was gone happen? championships and at that a 3peat how many players you know besides Jordan and the crew aka bulls and Shaq and kobe to do 3peat??? that is not easy to do and who was the last to do it???? i believe it's safe to say Shaq and Kobe so you can't say Shaq underperformed and then went out to Miami and won one with D Wade

    • Metalcore Mania
      Metalcore Mania 2 months ago

@terrell roberson I’m telling you the reason why the media underrates him. Players dont. I think Shaq is top 5. But if he made free throws most people would have him as the greatest. His talent meant he should’ve won more rings so he did underperform. Against the pistons, they fouled him and it worked in the finals

    • terrell roberson
      terrell roberson 2 months ago

@Metalcore Mania I understand what you are saying I get it but no player alone ever dominant the game of basketball on there own without the help of another superstar or up and coming talent so depending or your team that's where those chips come in and what type of staff running the team

    • Metalcore Mania
      Metalcore Mania 2 months ago

@terrell roberson I feel u but they should’ve won against Detroit. That loss is what facilitated the end of Lakers dynasty. Had shaq been the goat, he wouldn’t have had that loss.

I think most people's problem with LeBron was "The decision" special.
Shaq's was on the song "2 Bad" on the "HIStory" album.
Shaq is right. Lamar needs to keep his family out of it. His mom isn't capable. The fact he didn't understand the contract and it includes 175 million guaranteed if he got hurt.

On a side note: lots of comments on this thread are clowning the young lady. I thought she did pretty damn good. She may not be the best "fit". But (unlike molly querim), she gives respectable analysis. She's not just a pretty face. She knows sports.

and i hate the argument against players wanting to team up with other stars as it just sets them up to fail. Kobe inherited Shaq, a top 10 at worst, player of all time. Magic got to play with Kareem who has a case as the GOAT. I can go on and on but if a player plays 7-8 years for a team and does everything he can to carry his team but the team doesnt surround him with the talent I dont blame the player for wanting out. KG is a perfect example, talent wise he may be one of the top 12 players ever but since his resume isnt comparable to the guys above him he will be slightly underrated as time continues to go on. Every player doesn't inherit a great situation and to judge him for wanting to play with other elite guys is crazy to me

  • Daniel Maia
Daniel Maia 2 months ago +10

Crazy how sensitive and insecure Shaq proves over and over to be every time he mentions that he has G14 certification or whatever.
This just proves that he’s heard he is not respected and he really cares about it
Imagine if a president had to argue that he is the president every time he is talking or speaking.
Respect is earned not demanded and it might be that is impossible to be respected by 100% of people

I wish more people were that insecure. If that's the sort of insecure that has you doing random shit for strangers and not seeking publicity and trying to be a big bro to those following his footsteps and show them love and give them knowledge ungrudgingly then the whole damn world needs to be that insecure. He just isn't going to take any bullshit and he knows his worth and he's not going to deny his manhood for anyone. A certain generation won't get understand that because they haven't done shit and haven't earned shit which means there's a lot of humbling that's gonna happen in the years to come and a lot of people lack the heart and mentality to deal with but those who don't bury themselves literally will learn.

Bron ain’t start that teaming up together stuff, Bron was just one of the bigger names to also do it, that Celtics big 3 teamed up to beat Lebron so Bron said “ight Bet” and went to Miami and gave them boys that medicine back to back years and broke them up

    • Go_
      Go_ 2 months ago +2

Nah that Celtics big 3 was put together by GMs Ray and KG were traded to Boston. Lebron was a free agent and team up with 2 stars in their prime in Miami it’s different. Also Lebron didn’t break that team up they didn’t break up into rondo tore his ACL and Carmelo was the last person to beat that Boston team in 2013.

All opinions, wether for or against, weigh the exact same. The older generations used a negative opinions as motivation. Those negative opinions made great players show their greatness on a completely different level every game. I hate younger generations have no clue about reverse psychology. Simply prove those doubters wrong it’s all love.
