We need a "pain in the arse" counter
I love he'll say Arse but then F word later comes out lol. Good guy
Lmao i came to the comments just to see if someone said something about arse.
It wasn't a pain but it sure was a nice "arse" in 5:51.
What a pain in the arse
Cant believe we haven’t seen more removable MB trays before this. Such a great idea
this NEEDS to become industry standard moving forward!
Dark Base 700 (from 2017) , SilverStone TJ08-E (from 2011), LANCOOL 315 (from 2020), Lian Li D8000 (from 2013) if you need more just ask i got like 900 more..
We did, but it wasn't a common feature.
Seems like a gimmick
I'm going to comment about how you're wrong and this has been around for 20+ years because I can't detect sarcasm over the internet.
Lian Li was always a step ahead of the game
I thought NZXT was beating them w the H9 and the new Kraken coolers but when I saw the LCD fans there is no competition
@Telescope the glass only corner has been done way before the H9 and by much smaller companies.
Coolermaster has the best prototype case where you don’t take the back off you plug the cables from the front it was in gearseekers video
@Jayzha cool beans
Phanteks is just as good
Desk definitely needs an integrated wireless charging zone
yes as long as its not too much of a pain in the arse
I would focus more on having a type-c connection with like a 45w output.
@One Black Sun You can only just catch it for a moment but they have IO on the front of the desk. I looked on the website and it will have Type-C on the IO.
@Brendan Mulcahy That's PC IO though, it won't do 45w of charging. I think replacing that USB-A with a USB-C PD plug with 45W-65W of charging would make this desk also be good for charging a laptop, or really fast phone charging. It'd be fun if they integrated wireless charging in that USB cylinder thing, so that it's clear where it is.
Wireless charging. Move the drink holder further back and to the side so I can push my keyboard far to the left. Cable management for my peripherals. Dust filter on the intake. Make the right-side bin deep enough for a controller (and maybe headset). Give yourself room at the back corners to attach aftermarket pedestals (winglets) for speakers. Play to the aftermarket/modding crowd with considerations for stream deck and DAQ placement.
Lian Li has gone insane. In a good way. All of these looks awesome AF
Seems that Alex found a way to make us know where he felt physical discomfort after his long flight 🤣
On the 011D EVO XL, instead of having that grommet there should just be an included adapter that is basically a display extension that takes place of the grommet. That way you can just plug the cable into the back of the case instead of having to fish it through.
While I do like this idea and think Lian Li should think about something like this, you also have to consider how many cables of various combinations they would need to support. It might drive up the price by a significant amount or just be unfeasible.
@GinjaFox could be made optional as a 10-15$ add-on. So you could also choose between various dp and hdmi versions
Also they offer that bracket for the current O-11 EVO, that isnt new at all.
@siedenburg you can also get the same cables from a third party already.
@Brick Tamland i mean made for the case so that the lenght is correct and the end does fit where the rubber thing is (perhaps with a screw in clamp design)
Nice upgrades from Lian Li, and also a nice upgrade from LTT, "Love to see it" has been upgraded with "Pain in the arse". Good job guys.
Alex's enthusiasm is infectious. Lian Li cases have never failed to impress me with their quality and I always enjoy building in them. My own PC uses a Lancool II Mesh.
I love lian li’s risk taking and innovation. Super impressive stuff
That AIO with the solid diffused puck and infinity mirror in the center looks sick! the fans with the screens in them are cool too, Lian li have you ever considered making a reverse style blade fan with the infinity mirror on the hub like how phanteks does with their reverse style fan blades?
That caught my attention more than the GPU in the front of the case.
which one is that one? the LCD?
For that DK-07F PC Desk, I feel like they really needed to add a wireless charging area for both mice and phone. They also should consider making the hub at the top a high power USB Type C port. One of the nice things about a desk setup like that is that you can easily transition to a laptop for work, and having a way to fast charge your laptop or mobile devices would be neat.
I love lian li's cases for their quality. However not so sure about the weird GPU orientations. Looks like more of a trend than actual practicality.
Yeah duh it’s just decoration Jesus Christ
@Big Chief indeed
You'll loose 1/2 a meter of cable length too...
Yeah, the GPU orientations are a huge pain in the arse
@Big Chief absolutly unneeded hostility and you should calm down.
WOW ABSOLUTELY BLOWN AWAY BY THE O11 VISION!! Will definitely be picking it up for myself when it comes out. That removeable motherboard is going to be super sweet and the aesthics are simply mind-blowing. LOVE IT!! ♥♥
Always Love Alex's enthusiasm, Seriously Makes me want to get the credit card out and go nuts. lol Sincerely, TY for another awesome video with Alex.
Loved this video and the way the content was presented. Alex you are doing an amazing job there’s, your enthusiasm for new tech and the way you go about explaining things really really cool 👍
Wow. The O-11s were already good-looking cases. I was about to replace mine with the Mini version. Looks like I'll need to wait a little longer!
Gorgeous cases. Top glass is a genius thing for anyone who has their desk on the floor. I still think im a sucker for the Phanteks NV7. the back door for cable management just has me smitten. Always liked their desk cases, but you're likely going to put a desk mat on it anyways, and if you don't, well you see how many prints were all over it. But Lian Li's innovations are always next level. Industry leading for sure.
Take a shot every time Alex says "pain in the arse" to speedrun liver failure
That's his Newfie slipping out
For real wtf. Haha. Clearly nervous or something.
Or Rushed.
@ZetDaRipper Maybe he'd violently sharted himself and was just speaking truth to power.
I went blind from all the shots
After reading or watching reviews, I was deeply impressed by Lancool III. And yes, this new Lian Li is impressive, but I'm still not going to abandon my first love, Be Quiet, especially since their highest-end lineup has frontal mesh now. It simply matches my mindset of functionality over show-off better. Sadly, they're severely underrated. This video alone surpasses the combined views of Be Quiet reviews from Computex 2023.
Removable MB trays were pretty common years ago, I never understood why they went away from that
With the size of current cards, and who knows how bigger they will get, I'm personally happy for those alternative GPU mounts. That one on the front center looks amazing and will fit any card that is to come, I'm excited for my next upgrade.
Great video. This was a lot more hand on than a typical Convention preview. Awesome! Thank you. There's so much i want. Hope the Lian Li case isnt out of stock like NZXTs H9 has been.
Nice to see some more interesting cases for once. Seemed to me that PC case options had been getting kinda boring over the last couple years but I'm glad Lian Li tried some new things.
Tbh for only 140 the o11 vision looks and seems awesome, i just wonder how good cable management would be
I had the Lian-Li 011 Dynamic and my god that case was stunning. Really 1-UP themselves in their these new cases.
They fascinate me honestly because right now Lian Li are on top for me.
Wow I'm more of a function over fashion guy for PC cases but that case looks incredible and its really hard to deny how versatile and easy to build in it is with the removeable motherboard tray. Instead of reusing my old PC case when I hop to AM5 later this year I might actually end up getting one of these...
I was really struck by how awesome the RGB lighting stands out in the cases with tempered glass all the wayy around!
Great presentation, Lian Li’s new range looks very exciting and beautiful!
Lian Li desk needs to have a very large wireless charging area with fast charging hub and card reader.
That O11 vision is perfection. Was hovering between an O11D Evo and NZXT H9 Flow for my build this summer and the vision just took the H9's killer feature
What do you mean by that? Sorry for asking, I'm kinda in the same situation :D
The seamless "aquarium style" corner. My desk is laid out in such a way that I'd have that corner pointed at myself.
Exactly!
Also the stuff to connect is on the bottom at the front, which is just perfect compared to the other ones that either have it on the top of the case or upper front part, which I dont like since I want to put it on the desk
Recently went all in on a Lian Li build. Their designs are great.
It appears Lian Li's strategy this computex is to shotgun as many O11 versions as they can think of now that they actually have competition in that form factor
Love my Lian Li 216 case. Really like the look of all the Lian Li cases, but the 216 checked off all the boxes for me, and I love all of features and quality Lian Li provides.
I feel like the triple glass panel would turn the case into a greenhouse, maybe plunk a plant inside and see what happens lol. But seriously, I am late at this 'dual chamber' thing in cases and I would love a double panel version of O11 Vision, so I hope that is an option you can select before you'd buy it.
Those Front and Rear GPU mounts are pretty sweet and what I would love is if they put on the rear of the case "extenders" so you still have the rear plugin or even better a built in KVM Switch!
The cooling cup holder absolutely NEEDS to be resizable! It was be so cool!
The can cooler on the desk is an okay addition. Id hope it's pushed further to the back of the case so you have more clear (flat) workspace. I think a pop-up ac plug(s) would be nice too since getting behind or under the desk to do some other hobby work (like light soldering or something) would be a pain.
I do have one thing about the Odyssey X case (I know you didn't show it), that you cannot put a rear fan on the motherboard. In the rotated dynamic version, you only have bottom and the front for exhaust and intake. You would have make the bottom to be the exhaust, which is not good when most of your cooler air comes from. Another possible is to have all your fans being intake or vice versa to create a positive pressure.
lianli cases look amazing! maybe when I dare to do a custom loop for watercooling i'll get one, but with my current setup it's more about airflow than aesthetics.
I've always been pleased with Lian Li cases. I just ordered the Lian Li II Mesh RGB for my latest gaming build.
Interesting to see the rare feature of a removable motherboard tray. We have seen cases in the past that do it, but it's pretty rare.
Lian Li just needs to have the Infinity fans with reverse airflow, like yesterday. Then they will be undisputed kings of this space.
They're listed on their Computex page, but only the 120mm version.
thats all i need
Idea for those cases with the GPU in diff position: include a 1 DP and 1 HDMI extension with a 90º angle to make life easier. Doubt it would increase the value too much
The cubby would be frustrating to use because any time you want to open it you have to move everything on top of it.
Any form of drawer or like a drop basket would be great!
Lian li feel like they are the only ones with actual creativity and engineering going into their cases. That Sup1 is going to have some crazy cool gpu temps.
My recent computer I built last year is Lian Li 011 Air Mini. Easiest computer I built and i used Lian Li Fans.
I am a big Lian Li fan now and watching this kinda makes me wish I didnt recently upgrade my computer. That stuff looks sick.
My biggest concern with the desk is that if you spilled a can of soda on the glass the likelihood of it making its way inside the case is higher than the solid top design. A tray that slides out from under a solid desk reduces chances of it getting onto the Mobo.
Plugging your display cables INSIDE the case sounds really clean aesthetically! I'm sure some people would love this.
Your cable is still coming out of the case regardless. The only thing you eliminate is the plug really which I don't see as a huge issue anyway. I'd be much more impressed if they had a full cable shroud at the rear to hide all the existing cables and allow them to drop to the bottom. My case sits sideways to the right of me so in normal orientation the cables would all be facing outwards towards me. I have an inverted case just to have the cables come out the other side instead, but I'd love to have a nice cable shroud and use normal orientation.
I fear the cost but these cases got me thinking about going back into more debt for a new computer.
The SUP also has one more advantage, most of the airflow doesnt pass from the motherboard, which most likely means reduced dust (albeit at increased VRM thermals which shouldn't matter anw).
Im really excited for the new AIOs. The cases are cool but im quit happy with my current one and i cant afford to simply change cases all the time.
It's genuinely a treat to see more of Alex in videos. His infectious enthusiasm and nerdy charm blend together to infuse his content with a uniquely entertaining vibe that's thoroughly enjoyable. His tech-savvy excitement adds a distinctive flavour, making each video a delightful viewing experience.
What a beautiful case, might as well just get it when it comes out.
While the cases are super nice, and the weird GPU orientation interesting, the most interesting question is just how much caffeine was crammed into Alex's system before recording this. xD
I am interested in the SUP 01 and hope it performs well with an airflow setup.
my O11 dynamic was a pleasure to build in. I truly think its one of the best looking case out there. But this looks soooo clean.
I hope for those of us that already have the o11 series case that they'll start selling those bezeless tempered glass panels. I already have an o11 mini but I think it would look a lot better if it didn't have the bezels around the tempered glass like these new cases do
I'm doing my first build right now in a Dynamic Evo. Really love these iterations.
Just what I've always wanted, a case that uses two feet of my display cable inside the case itself.
I have been eyeballing the O11D EVO XL since last year and I am glad that it's finally releasing. This is definitely going to be my next case.
U know when the release is?
@Mr. ? Q3 2023 so somewhere between July and September.
will you be doing 3 420s? or just centering a 360 and leaving the extra space, im wondering how it looks with normal mounted GPU and a a centered side exhaust where the vetrical gpu will be, not sure if lian li makes 420 rad's so im torn. would want to see how they look fully built but sell out on day one is going to be a thing
@usernameunknown sell out ain’t a thing if you use bots 🤷♂️
i just bought the O11 XL fuck..
Feel like for those GPU locations in odd places they should include a very high quality dp and hdmi extension to the back of the case and offer those extensions for sale too in case you have more displays...otherwise , sick!
Yup... I see a copule new builds in my future. Love the tweaks to the original base design they are doing.
Removable motherboard panel sounds like a bloody brilliant move. Wonder why we didn't see it till now
If we're talking about weird cases, you should look at the Jonsbo VR4. It's a case in a case that slides out.
These portable heaters are going to be great for winter, all you need is a 1300w minimum psu and a ridge wallet to hold all your cash.
WHAT!? This is mind blowingly useful and so simple. I would LOVE to build outside my case and then drop it in omg. Build like a test bench and house like a home computer. Lian Li is something else and I love it
Look at the Jonsbo VR4. It's all mesh all around, so thermals are amazing, and the whole inside of the case slides out the back. You're left with just a skeleton of a case with no panels in the way. I got one a few weeks ago and it was a breeze to build in.
You can literally do this without any special case though. It's not like you can route power before hand with that case, so it's really no different than building on the mb box like everyone has been doing since 1483.
The Liquid cooled GPU in place of the AIO cooler is actually pretty looking and the brain can paint even more of a picture when looking at it
I'm the proud owner of a Lancool II mesh and it's an excellent case, even if it weighs as much as a boat anchor when fully loaded with hardware. Lian Li has been around for as long as I've been building PCs, but they really hit their stride around 2018.
I used to think case innovation died after that advent of rear cable management, but the mechanical design of recent cases is really well thought out. Anyone building a system now is spoiled for choice in the case market now that we've moved away from all glass boxes with no thought given to airflow.
Love mine , looks beautiful and this new model looks dope.
imagine running the cables for those LCD fans individually. thank god Lian Li has the daisy chaining system figured out
Wow I was expecting $200-300. What a beautiful case.
Love Alex’s confidence & no Fs given to critique their stuff right in front of them 😂
Lian Li has always been receptive to meaningful critiques
I was once looking for an esthetic look when building my pc on an early times but now, what configurations make the pc cooler (lower temp), it's my way. I put 2x 240mm radiators inside the case & 2x 360mm radiators outside for better cooler air.
I love the competition, Nzxt improved on the O11 Dynamic with their H9 cases and now Lian Li is improving on those.
Nah more like phantek and hyte improved on the design, h9 doesn't look remotely close to Lian Li design. But yeah since competitor came for their 011 case, Lian Li had to show their answer
That case with removable motherboard tray was a good idea. I hope somebody creates something similar without all the RGB and glass panels. I like black sleeper mesh cases but it seems to be hard to find such cases anywhere.
Totally agree, the tray is really great, however, all these glasses... They look very nice but seems to me you''ll end breaking any of them sooner or later... I don't see me having a case with so much glass.
These cases should come with plugins already wired from the GPU to the back of the case to make plugging then in easy, just like they do with USB, and sound plugins.
Love the innovative thinking behind these odd GPU mounting locstions. The real question is do they negativity affect thermos.
Feeking old when a removable motherboard tray is an innovation.
I miss those days.
I was thinking similar. Used to be the norm.
One that doesnt cut you is pretty cool tho XD
@Mijc Osis Thay's fair
3DGameMan sends his regards
Linus in one of previous videos: tiny cases are the future
Alex at LianLi: you all will want that humongous big case
IRC Lian-Li had removable motherboardtrays in the early 2000's, it was their USP in combination with the all-alu construction.
The desk needs more places to mount monitor arms. Working from home, I have 2 27" portraits either side, and a (I think) 55" in the middle. Being able to mount those and have the legs be able to support it would be good.
I am actually interested in buying it, the old desks were appealing but never fully suited my requirements.
Bought a Lian Li O11 Dynamic EVO a year ago, they are great cases. That being said I had a design issue in mine, if you'd put the power supply on the bottom slot you would have problems installing the GPU (The anchor feet would come in contact with the PS thus not allowing proper connection for the GPU not being fully slotted in). Had a 10 degrees difference on my GPU compared to my old case where it was fully in. Drove me crazy for a few days trying to figure it out 😂.
I don't know if others had the same issue but just in case you have 2 options, put the power supply in the upper slot or slightly unscrew the MB pins of the case (to give more space).
Looks like the "Next Big Thing" will be a set of DP/HDMI extension cables attached to a PCIe backplate for all those vertical GPU cases.
Those cases with the unusual GPU placements would SUCK if you play VR and don't have the headset plugged in 24/7
You could add a small extension cable that you leave plugged in 24/7 instead
so you're saying the sound would be a pain in the arse?
@Karpata honestly at a slightly offset price it would probably be nice for lian Li to include such an extension of the perfect length for displayport
There were lots of cases with removable motherboard trays 30 years ago. They were discontinued for cost savings.
Would be good if we could purchase the motherboard tray unit separately … looks perfect to put inside a gutted Mac Pro cheese grater.
such a bummer that my PC died on me unexpectedly and I was forced to buy a new one now rather than later cause I'm getting the O11D Evo case but would've absolutely loved to have the new version where the glass meets at the side instead of having the metal bar :(
love the seemless glass panel design, tho Lian Li is not the first one to design a case like that... personally i was thinking of getting the NZXT H9 for a while now!
Lian Li is the first to have 3 pieces of seamless glass
Drink every time Alex says "Pain in the arse".
I'd rather not die of alcohol poisoning thank you very much
it just doesnt sound right coming out his mouth
was literally about to say the same thing lmao
im drunk
Came into the comments just to say the same thing
I like that front mounted GPU. It’s always been a shame hiding the most expensive component so deep within the case, and giving it the worse airflow, when there is so much underutilized vertical space in the area that used to be populated with 5.25” and 3.5” drive bays. It’s always seemed like every case until just recently had been an older design that was retooled and repurposed into a more modern design, but when you pop the front panel off there’s a couple of slots from non-existent bays and non-existent sleds. Lian-Li had shit figured out and I feel like my next build might be a rebuild of my existing PC in a fancier case using one of those new layouts, case fans and AIOs.
Those LCD fans are just insane, and it makes me have to think hard about which case layout to get, but if you get those they have to be the three in front, so then you’ve gotta get the vertical GPU mount that mounts next to the motherboard on the side. I don’t really mind because if I wanted to, I can get cables with male and female ends and leave them dangling out the back so I can access them like normal-or just get extra long cables so I don’t care, and bundle and extra one or two in case I need to add an additional monitor for anything. The one cool thing is that having your display cables connect inside the case is that you can easily use one of those extra outputs for a totally ridiculous LCD display somewhere inside the case if you want. Who needs RGB when you can have a whole LCD panel mounted somewhere inside your case?
CONCLUSION: Alex finds a freakin lot of Lian Li`s products and or features to be "A PAIN IN THE ARSE" ! So thank you for that kind of honesty. I`ll consider that for my future purchase decisions.
I guess I’m just getting old. But I’ve had an 011 dynamic for about 4 years and I’ve been strongly considering going small form factor with no RGB. I just want my desk space back lol. These cases look sweet though
You know what I want to see? A PBFF case with a vesa mount arm coming up off of the back. Then you get rid of GPU sag and the case can act as a monitor stand too.
Motherboard manufacturer: We should put the PCIe slot for GPU as close as possible to the CPU to minimize latency.
Lian-Li bust in with their 1 meter riser cable: The hell you are!!!
They should give a display extender of sort, so you can choose to not fish in your hdmi or dp wire, just like in the recent desk pc
Have you guys ever thought about getting rotating stands to build computers on in the studio?
I have a 360 degree rotating TV stand that I set up on my build table for hardware projects. I can toss my O11 Evo on there and spin it around with ease to pass cables through the case without having to lift or rotate it.
Routing the display cables is easy once you go with extensions. I have the O11D Evo with the upright GPU (perpendicular to the motherboard) AND I inverted it, which is a feature with this case, so the DP and HDMI cables route from the front/bottom to the rear/bottom. Using an extension, I have a female DP and HDMI ports poking just outside the back of the case.
Lian Li have been making cases with removable motherboard trays for longer than I can remember... I had one of their Aluminium towers back in the early-mid 2000's with a removable tray.
The grand daddy PC60 had a removable mobo tray.
10 years later Lian Li still doesn't understand why their cases just look cheap.
