well she is partially correct...providing arms to a country doing the actual fighting is actually fighting a proxy war...But it's still a war.

If EU was really fighting a war against russia, the Situation in Ukraine would be different. We do not send soldiers to Ukraine or any other heavy weapons. If we would sent Medium-range-missiles (as Ukraine want) or even just fighter jets, Russia would be in big troubles without using his nuklear weapons. With the Medium-Range-Missiles, Ukraine would be no longer in a defensive Fight, because those Missiles could reach all the way to Moskau. So be glad we do not want to eacalate that Situation.
The majority of us (66%) Support These weapons to be shipped to Ukraine, as i do myself.
Personally, I still think it's a pity that we don't have the same determination against the United States and its wars...

And finally, this will increase Russian's motivation to fight. Seeing German tanks in the East, is an hallucination. It's against the laws of Nature.

@cartmann227 “A military alliance (NATO) that, in recent decades, has distinguished itself for its aggressions (Yugoslavia, Afghanistan, Iraq, Syria, Libya, etc.) would have surrounded Russia. American missiles could have reached Moscow and St. Petersburg in minutes. In short, the independence of the country would have disappeared. First, the military one, because the possibility of a decisive first Western [Nuclear] strike would have compromised Russia's strategic parity. Then, the economic one, because Russia would have been subjected to the perpetual blackmail of the transit countries of its energy sources. Finally, the political one, because it is clear that, in these conditions, sooner or later, a puppet of the West would have been placed at the helm of the state. The ultimate outcome of this process should have led to the dismemberment of the country into five or six hostile entities. A return, for the worse, to the nineties.” - Silvio Dalla Torre

“Russia is a great country, a great nation that is used to fighting to the end, almost losing and then recovering,” Josep Borrell said in a speech in Madrid, Spain, bringing up the 1812 invasion by Napoleon Bonaparte’s French empire and the 1941 invasion by Adolf Hitler’s Germany as historical examples of this.
“It would be absurd to think that Russia has lost the war or that its military is incompetent,” Borrell added.
He claimed that so far Moscow “has been losing the war but it still has enormous strength and capacity to continue [fighting].”

      Suspendthiscommunistyoutube 3 months ago +6

Napoleon took Moscow. Russians won nothing, they just retreat and wait Napoleon to leave. Is that wining? Playing hide and seek with Napoleon.
WW2 was a different story. Russia was supplied completely by allies. They were fighting on a single front, unlike Germany. And Russia casualties alone were more than all others, central powers and allied forces combined. Because Germany killed so many young russians, after WW2 Russia population shrink from over 190 million to 145 while all other countries had demographic growth. So on the long term Russia lost the war. The same happen today in Ukraine.

67890 Russia has a brilliant strategy - with minimal losses, the soldier destroys the enemy's manpower, logistics and equipment with artillery fire along the entire front. Using daily at least 60,000 shells 152 mm (up to 70 km) 203 mm (50 km including low-yield nuclear charges). Tornado (MLRS) 300 mm (at 90 km) with 250-kilogram cluster-fragmentation or high-explosive fragmentation, or thermobaric warheads.
The deliberate slowness of the Kremlin gives time for the sanctions to catastrophically destroy the economy of the countries funding the Nazis in Ukraine. In Ukraine, there is a picnic next to Brussels with sabotage against the 450 million population of the EU and surrounding countries.
Western investments in Russia on astronomical figures. Banking sector $42 billion. Investment in oil production by the West is about 200,000 tons of gold and so on.
The West has forced the creation of a military bloc: China, Iran, Russia, North Korea, Afghanistan and probably India. Against the Kremlin - Australia, England, the EU and the USA.
Arming Ukraine is rapidly disarming NATO, the EU and even the US.
The US government is very soon using nuclear weapons in Ukraine. 1 destroy Ukraine, 2 economic catastrophe for Eurasia, 3 damage to the Kremlin. 4 Another blow from the left to the world economy.
Ukraine's acquisition of long-range missiles is likely to retaliate with powerful explosions at oil storage facilities in the EU and the US. In the West, terrorists from the Middle East live very comfortably in their hands.
Western Ukraine must be occupied in order to stop the supply from Poland.
The Kremlin's position is simple: Ukraine is free from NATO, the EU and the Nazis. Territories where Russians live go to Russia.
Peace, trade, technology exchange between the West with Russia, China, Iran and so on.

It's not that she too young and her comment have nothing to do with understanding Russia. She simply and inadvertently let it slip that NATO is fighting Russia. She confirmed what many have suspected. Really, she is not fit for her job.

    • Bri Bg
      Bri Bg 3 months ago

@Teresa Olszanka Ms Baerbock expressed, that NATO fights for democratic aims and a democratic world order and that Western countries don't accept autocratic and imperialistic aims of the actual Russian Government. She didn't choose the right words though, using one sentence that could have been misunderstood. The foreign minister isn't too young at all to know the difference between democratic and autocratic world orders and to support Ukraine's fight for democracy and aims of their own in their country. Russia can't be allowed to make the rules for the elected Government in Ukraine.

well from their side, would be best to end the war as quick as possible, look at the problem with the energy, fuel and gas, 'cause they need a lot of energy.... however best of all would have from what appears for the proxy war from other nations to stop egging this all on, peace could have been made at the very beginning before it came to this, but other countries kept egging on, and encouraging, funding, exacerbating situtions.... but there is so much to sort through, not sure where to put the blame, really.

E Walker not @ewalker1057 - Democratic politicians support their people. They do not say they support another country regardless if what the people of her own country say. The US has been supplying weapons to Ukraine since 2014. If you are at war with a country, then military equipment is sent to that war.

Germany is dragging its feet over supplying Ukraine with tanks etc. And while they have now agreed to send the tanks (along with the US etc), it's all taking too long. It will still be months before Ukraine will have these tanks to use against the Russians. They have to be shipped to Ukraine (or nearby Poland) and the crews need to be trained on them. So we're talking months before one tanks fires a shot against the Russians and who knows what could happen by then.

German Foreign Minister is not Declaring War . This statement was made prior to authorization by Germany for Leopard 2 Panzers to Ukraine. She was saying other countries must send tanks also .
As a result US is sending Abrams tanks. Britain sending Challenger tanks & France sending smaller wheeled tanks.
So the bottom line is Germany was not going to be hung out exposed to be a Russian Target alone.

Her statement has nothing related to declare a war. Her statement is just undermined.
    Anyway,
Sending weapons will not help Ukraine to win. It will helps them to defend longer but not to win.
We've seen that since the beginning of conflict to this day.
The only chance Ukraine can win is by direct NATO intervention and get the escalation to the maximum.

She wrote off to gain her Doctor Title, she wrote off basically everything for her Book, she published. But the main reason why she has that position is, because those Parties have a Womenquota. Means a percentage of those political Positions have to be filled with a woman, not matter her qualification. Sounds wrong to you? Yes, to us Germans aswell, and thats what you gain out of it. With the exchange of our Minister of defense to a male, wich is much more Qualified, our Bundeskanzler went another way, and that seem to become a good decision.
