@Backu_04 edit it to third
I broke so I not buying I make my own
Sorry mark now you gotta do it with Justin tucker
405th
Yes baby
I like how Mark turns something like kicking a football into a science project.
I like how mark turns something like throwing mankind into space into a science project!
Science is everywhere....
Dang, a 40 yard kick first try and nearly a 45 yard kick? That’s pretty impressive Mark 😂
He was taught by the best
Justin Tucker went out and kicked a 66 yard field goal after this video just to spite Mark.
@Tanner Edge facts let’s go raiders
And he was allowed 3 extra sec to do it
That is true
Exactly
@fire birdI AGREE AND ITS NOT BECAUSE IM A RAVENS FAN
What a nice guy! Real sportsmanship. Thanks for a great film.
0:13 That kick looked like it put a hole in the sun! Great job Mark, keep on creating. You inspire so many people so, thank you. 😊
😂😂😂
Mars Rover kicked the handegg into the Sun!
C-C-C-COMBO BREAKER!!
😂😂😂
😂😂😂
😂😂😂
That leg falling off was so comically perfect 😂😂 like a cartoon
And the worried glance at the lost limb…
Mark Rober is the type of guy who can make a video about watching paint dry make it interesting🙌🏾
How cool would it be if mark actually did this.
True ngl lol
OMG so true LOL
New video idea lol
It’s so nice to see how generous this guy is, with how he literally tells you how to make the blanket grid yourself on the website so you don’t need to buy it
Spiderman no way home
@Stickie Dmin ooh never tried
@Lucas Gleason
Cheese? How peculiar.
I prefer it with a 50/50 mix of sugar and powdered cocaine.
Really puts the *_POP_* into popcorn.
@Stickie Dmin I see you have your own too. Caramel or cheese powder?
@Lucas Gleason
Meh - no reason why you shouldn't enjoy your popcorn anyway.
💥🍿💥
I love how Mark is just a grown child with incredible technical expertise.
Having a child-like sense of wonder and willingness to FAFO are essential traits of a scientist.
E
It's weird watching this now that Matt Prater doesn't hold that record anymore lol
I love how when he tells us how his machines work he lists the things like we understand :)
That doink on the bare footed kick was so majestic
Mark Rober saying “That’s my boy” is the only thing saving us from a robot take over I swear
Spiderman no way home
👀
@Diogenesis ONE donuts
😂
Or my grandmother saying take care to our home assistant and stuff
For anyone wondering, Matt now plays for the Arizona Cardinals and his record was recently beaten by Justin Tucker of the Baltimore Ravens with a 66 yard field goal.
And prater attempted a 68 yarder that same week and was returned for a record (tied) 109 yard td, (longest run in terms of yards) LMAOO
Not only did he make a badass robot that can kick 80 yard bombs he maximized the use of a single blanket like no other
17:50: "And the Robot is not able to walk off the field under his own power. The engineers with the cart have been called."
Seriously, that was incredible, and Mark you are not too bad yourself! The Bears could have used YOU instead of Double Doink Parkey.🤡
That kick got tipped btw
I'd love to hear the reasoning why they didn't let them fly a drone inside of a gigantic empty stadium
I would think the robot kicking a football through the roof would have been more of a liability than a drone. But wth.
Liability. Or, to be more precise, lawyers.
I can't see any reason why literally nothing would go wrong lol
I don’t know how they don’t get mad
ngl that blanket is the coolest thing I've ever seen in a blanket. so easy to use and a lot of cool fundamental science behind it. Measurement, the basis of science!
Yup I agree, On my channel there's a video of a "Robot Chicken"
Biggest surprise of the year Mark can kick a decent field goal holy mackerel dude, nice work!!
@BeardedMachine do you watch the show diffrent strokes
Spiderman no way home
@MyRegardsToTheDodo Spiderman no way home
Spiderman no way home
Spiderman no way home
Hats off to Matt for participating in this video. Even though he broke the Who Dats Nations record he seems like a really cool guy. I could see his concern as the train horn started to bother his sidekick.
Love how energetic you are with what you do.
The other day I saw a pro miss a 45 yard field goal so Mark getting that far is impressive
You do really great work dude. This is content worth watching!!
Kicking a 40-yard field goal is waaaaaay harder than it seems! Hat off to Mark!
When Mark Rober says: "and then this happened" you know you're about to witness the next cathastrophy in rocket science.
Spiderman no way home
@Yeet Yeet Congratulations, cat!
cat has trophy
P
Don't read my profile picture...
The fact the robot didn't go 100% full power until the end because that was literally more than its body could handle is probably the most Anime thing I've ever seen in real life. That's straight just Deku's whole schtick, I wonder who would win between them
@DaSleepyFox nah a kick to the ribs and deku’ gets decked
One Finkle kick to the crotch and Deku's dead
I love how finkle looked at his foot when it broke. I couldn't stop laughing at that 🤣
When Mark talks about about how Matt's leg speed is up there with the elite placekickers and soccer players of the world he shows to clips. One is the kicker for the Baltimore Ravens, the other is Scott Sterling! Am I the only one who noticed this?!
I noticed!
Yeah, well we don't know who Scott Sterling is. (crickets chirp in arrogant disbelief).
We measure field goal distance from the spot of the kick to the goal post - but that doesn't take into account the height of the crossbar. So for Mark to make that 40-yard FG, he had to kick it as if it was further away than that. Even more impressive.
We really want a speed square blanket! Will they come back in stock?
One of the best “product placements” I’ve seen on Clip-Share. Totally non-disruptive and actually educational. And so thoughtful to make a version available online for people who don’t want to buy the blanket. This guy is a kind hearted genius.
Spiderman no way home
And I want him so bad! 😍
@KING JERMARCUS what does this have to do with the video or comment
@Arsh Raghuvanshi never 😂
This was so awesome - and the leg falling off near the end was epic!
One time, when I was in 5th grade, my dad and I would go to my middle school field on weekends and pass around a football and skateboard together. We had a contest on who could kick the longest field goal. Also, this was mid winter and it was around 35-40 degrees. Nonetheless, we started just like this video, and my dad tried a 40 yarder and it fell short about an inch and a half it seemed and then did it again, and it was about 3-4 feet above the field goal crossbar wearing NEW BALANCES (you know the white dad ones) and I was so blown away and proud and people around who were walking around the track around the field and others all cheered and clapped when he made it. Such an epic memory and even more epic dad. 💚
@Zecodar ah, meanwhile me up in minnesota where the temp normally doesn't go over ten and the wind chill is usually -10 XD
@TheEWDSDS it was in East Tennessee in like late Feb
35-40 degrees is mid winter for you? Thats warm
@Fungusz _ no basketball
@Fungusz _ That's what he said.
Mark, you sir, are a national treasure!
I'M SURE MR ROBER'S FAMILY IS LUCKY TO HAVE HIM, I'M SURE HIS TALENT JUST MAKES LIFE MUCH EASIER WITH HIM AROUND
Have you ever had any thoughts about revamping this project with a spline shaft and seeing just how far 'you' could kick? I bet if you used a spline shaft and increased the spring force then you could get 130 yards!
They need to do those drone shots on NFL broadcasts. Makes it way easier to actually see if the kick is going in or not.
Maybe you could see better if you weren't kneeling.
Ozy A Yes
Ozy A Completely agree! They should do away with broadcasting altogether and we'll just catch the result in text via twitter
Ozy A why not? Edit: they can just wear em somewhere on the helmet or shoulder pad
Imagine if the drone operator accidentally hit the ball in the air though. The backlash from the fans would be hilarious
Matt prater:“ that’s the worst sound you can hear as a kicker“ *crossbar
Justin Tucker: Excuse me
Cody Parkey: hold my beer 🍺
Hey Mark, Love the video's that you create and I am a huge NFL fan, so this is double the fun. thank you
Very cool. Plus, that blanket is a great multipurpose learning tool. I really enjoyed this one.
you did so much better than i thought! well done! as a soccer player myself, i’ve always wondered how much the techniques overlapped.
@Chad Zard he’s from Europe, Europe takes soccer seriously. You lucky he isn’t from Brazil.
Bruh literally become an NFL kicker start practicing now. You could become a millionaire just kicking a ball. In high school we had a foreign exchange student from Germany who played soccer. His first time ever seeing a football he was knocking down 40 and 45 yarders easy he only missed like twice. It was a joke to him though because he didn't care for anything besides soccer.
Justin Tucker has something to say about that field goal 😂
Can we talk about mark being actually good at kicking field goals.
@Darrin Rice It's not going to become popular here, because soccer players dive and flop. That's considered disgraceful in American culture.
@M Or, soccer will peter out and American Football will take over the world, if at least not the Western Hemisphere. It's already the second most popular sport in Mexico. Baseball also had a similar trajectory and it's the most popular sport in the Pacific Rim.
@M No it won't. And the reason it won't is 'cuz the USA team sux by comparison to World Cup competition, and no American wants to sit through watching them lose so much; not even watching from home on TV. So, UNLESS there's some miraculous emergence of truly World Cup ballers in the U.S. soccer's not going to draw fans out like the NFL.
@McCoy not even
I laughed so hard when the robot kicked his leg off and then turned his head towards it
I was expecting Mark's bare foot to end up like Finkles leg. Nice work, Mark.
The first video of yours I saw was the pinewood derby one. It helped us better understand what kind of techniques we had to narrow in on. My son’s car placed 1st across 3 states and out of over 3,000 cars.
I have to say that in this video you look exactly the same.
I hope your boy is doing well.
I love projects like this cause it shows me that robots don’t have to be electric. Keep doin what your doin🤘
The leg falling off was surprisingly hilarious
Can we just take a moment to appreciate, that this man never clickbaits us?
Spiderman no way home
Bot
Agreed
@Mudit Singh oh you say he clickbaited us? Tell me all the reasons. Give your answers in full sentences
Just did with his new vid
I love how the leg just falls off the first time and then FLIES off like a throwing axe
Considering someone who had just learned how to kick a field goal was able to kick the ball that far in normal lifestyle shoes, thats hella impressive
This field has offered me an experience I will never forget, and that was Marching on it for state finals. And every time I randomly click on this video it pulls those memories out and lets me relive them.
Matt Prater low-key getting nervous by the time he sees this dude nail it at 40 yards lmao.
I love how mark just explains us math and science while I’m just like oh, hm, I get it, just one thing, I don’t understand.
Actually seriously impressed with Marks kicking. Hitting a 40 yarder is no easy task
Here’s Justin tucker kicking a 66 yarder
@Hamza_ Shaheed cheers to you too
@OrangeNation cheers 🤙
@Hamza_ Shaheed My sis studied and lived in Melbourne for a year
What part do you live in?
Love how the bot just looked at his leg like “oh dear, well that was upsetting”
"It seems we were made to suffer." -- C3PO
Mark is great. I would love to get my kids interested in engineering. Any suggestions?
the way fankle looked at his flying lag is just hilarious
Dude that blanket is genius. Awesome video.
This dude is just watching all his life's work going up in flames, without being able to stop it.
Mark Rober’s content is the epitome of quality over quantity.
JJust a supporter of Marks with a passion for lifting
Like mr sark for example
Or how ridiculous
@Randomologist now you got 122
@Kid Neutron you gained one cause i feel bad your psychology is working
Takes a minute to get an upload, but tops the charts every time
It's crazy to know that it took that much engineering only to compete against a human leg.
really nice of you to give us the details of the blanket instead of making us buy it, really waking up the engineering spirit.
This was awesome I love prater. I'm from Denver and watched him break the record on tv when he did it and was pumped! I wish we never got rid of him
Your vids are actually crazy even after years it doesn't feel behind
I laughed so hard when the leg flew off, every time.
The fact that Mark was kicking 40 yarders relatively easily was impressive
@Jordash W footballs are harder than soccer balls, said from me, who was a soccer and is football player
@Hometuk very different ball
@Bob Edwards he played soccer witch helps a ton
@John Crews I bet Ronaldo or Messi could beat this record
@Bob Edwards Mark is a soccer player and has the leg
Please do a Finkle 2.0 with Justin Tucker! I would really love to see the physical theoretical limit to a field goal on Earth.
Let’s NOT!
The fact Sebastian Janikowski hit a 70 yard fg was crazy
Hi Mark, just caught your video today. I loved it, thank you for posting. Hey how did you make out with Finkle's leg? I was wondering if you considered taper lock bushings? I think they would hold up a lot better to the stress.
It's crazy that due to the leverage in the chest and body, an MLB player's arm (fingertips) can travel faster than a soccer player's foot.
It’s actually crazy impressive that he hit a 40 yard field goal
@Giant Maze NFL kickers easily do that at practice all the time so what Deestroying does isn’t really special
@Giant Maze yea but he actually plays football
Have u seen deestroying
Hello how are you Iam under the water pls help me there's too much raining blwww
Matt is a great humble sportsman but Mark is not so much 😂
“Now we know how fast finkle can blast these balls”
Never thought mark would say that
I loved how Prater's kid delivers the punishment!
WOW! Long distance kicking competition, engineering and the NFL place kick record holder. Interesting concepts!👍🏻💯💥💢
i never tought i would’ve wanted a blanket as much as i want to buy yours
Dude just broke his world record, crazy good athlete!
That guy is basically the only reason Lions fans have any self esteem
@thral zoss IKR!
@Adam Commercial People are notorious for not picking up on the simplest forms of comedy
@thral zoss Yes indeed I was just making a simple joke. I know he's not an elite level kicker and I know he is too old. Take a joke, people!
Ik
Varias veces intenté los kick de rugby y de futbol americano, cualquiera que haya jugado fútbol más con los pies que con las manos es capaz de hacer los famosos goles de campo sin complicarse
as a kicker, this is insane
can we see the robot do 100 yard kick? is it even possible? also keep up the great work mark!
That was both epic and hysterical!
Mark's breaking multiple records with machines, and machines only!
Mark : "Matt's foot is moving at 48 miles per hour"
"This is 70 yards"
Me : confused metric noises
A yard is .91 of a meter.
*confused spelling noises*
Lol me too
@d4ve19 mph *1.6 =kph
Yards *0.9 = meter
Foot *0.3 = meter
Inch *2.5 = cm
I would like to see an updated experiment with both Matt Prater and Justin Tucker
I love how the leg just came off and finkle was just like."Well that wasn't supposed to happen".
At this point mark is better than the lions kicker now 😂
This was quite the fun video - totally enjoyed it.
Mark your so skilled ngl ive watch all your videos and ligit they always keep getting better and better so stay skilled:)
This guy is literally the definition of a cool uncle.
@Pro Gamer10 well it's kinda a pass
@Domination Gaming✓ you took from someone’s reply, well many actually. Along time ago I saw someone say, “bruh stolen” 9 years ago so don’t copy replies if you don’t like to copy comments............
Not really
bro i just saw u in the sidemen video comment sction commenting 4 times. fkin chill
S t o l e n
And there's Tucker breaking the record with his 66 yard goal.
I mean, you got a 40 yarder--that's pretty amazing, actually.
I laughed at the Finkle reference but loved the Anton Lubchenko moment at the end.
Just goes to show you with enough time, money, and effort, you can do anything.
Crazy how mark kicks further and more consistently than our highschool kicker
"Elite kickers and soccer players"
*Shows Scott Sterling*
This man is cultured, I'll give him that!
@GarryLarry890 when this comment was made I think it was around an hour after it was posted
*Hockey Players Not included* Sad Zdeno Chara
@Joel Peters lol
The man
The myth
The legend
SCOTT STERLING!!!!!
900 likes, congrats
I lobe how he takes time with his engineering
It’s really interesting how the record was broken in this exact field
Mark: And to this day Matt still holds the record
Justin tucker: hold my beer
