When I heard this song for the first time in 1990 as a 15 year old it just felt like it was so ahead of it's time. It's 2021 now and it still sounds fresh! She does a great rendition to the Hollywood golden era by mentioning some immortal artists from that time....maybe that is why this song will never die.

Everything in life is subjected to comparison. Meaning, that without someone raising the standards on quality we would stay mediocre. She was the person who took music to a place so high, that everybody in the music industry was force to step up.
I love her music in general, but for me this song and video made her career!
It's totally FABULOUS on so many levels. Classic and iconic because it uses classic iconic images, with timeless style and the beat can make someone with no rhythm move their booty!!! It's infectious and magical!

You REALLY had to be there in that time, to truly appreciate this liberating song and video! If you were of that time, you KNOW it would drag you out on the floor, ALONE, on the first few notes or bars of this piece! LOVED it and still do, have to sing along and do the arm promps!

This video is so gorgeous. One thing you can say for Madonna is that she is an artist. She went all in and created a gorgeous spectacle.
she does do scenes and dance moves over and over since the director wants to get it right. I it’s exhausting but I never knew how many times you have to repeat something for a 4 min video.
That's because David fincher the video director is a perfectionist.......He made quite a few videos for Madonna and others before he started directing movies
