"You can't be disappointed when you played well." Words for anyone one in any kind of game or sport to live by. Especially for a game of chance like Poker.

Word, i never trip if i lose if i played correctly. Only when i make mistakes, even if it dosent cost me money. I get more mad folding a potentially good hand because of a small raise only to hit nuts, than i do if i lose all my chips going all in with a flush, losing to a straight flush.

    • josh885
      josh885 2 months ago +4

@Nate One Lmao she played well so she did win. It's a game of chance, its gambling not pure skill and strategy like chess. You can play perfectly and still lose a hand. Judging skill in it in the way you are, as win or lose is not how to view skill in Poker. It's did you play well and make good decisions? Yes? Than you are doing well and will be making money on average. But you will still lose hands and money. Poker is a game of averages and chance taking. So you view it not on winning or losing one hand or even one tournament but on your overall play. If you are betting right and making good reads, you will have positive money per hour playing poker, and thus you're winning. Similarly in sports you can do everything right and still lose if its an equal playing field. " be disappointed and play better if you lose" is really just sour gapes loser talk and a very bad, self defeating attitude if you wan to to do well at anything and not be seen as a poor sport no one wants to work or play with

The call with k10 it was one of the most horrible calls I've seen. it makes absolutely no sense, it beats absolutely no value hand, and it also loses against some bluffs, not to mention that it blocks the diamonds, which are the main bluffs she beats

The hand against Laliberte is a cooler against any other of the players at the table, don't think it's a cooler against Laliberte: he's a very solid player, I don't expect him to value bet pot on the river with e.g. AQ, he will probably make a size around half pot. When he bets pot, his range is polarized QJ, AK, set of 4, and he doesn't have a bluffing range (usually he doesn't have, and he doesn't have especially in this hand). It's not easy to let such a strong hand go, but in this spot AT is almost a bluff-catcher - I don't think he bets pot either with an unlikely A4 or A6.

She was very good. Very aggressive but typically was her best shot to win the pot. Typically had a vulnerable or bluff hand and got them off it. I really didn’t get the 108 move because she basically played it like she put him on a draw and bet knowing he’d raise and she’d call weak, but he didn’t bet the flop in position, which is unlikely with a flush draw. She could have check raised turn but to check call and then donk the river just was an odd line. That play cost her 25k more than it should have. She made very bold moves that paid off that I’d never have the guts to make at those stakes though. She also made that sick k10 call.

Every time this repeat comes up in my recommendations, I re-experience this lady being repeatedly slandered with the juvenile commentator's mindless use of a vulgar term that should never have been allowed into adult conversation. I don't care what he says it means, a word that already has meaning can't be simply reassigned like some mindless liberal's hapless kid's sex.
