@John Gotti Usyk shat himself whenever AJ threw combinations. AJ just doesn’t have the gas tank to sustain it and Usyk had superior footwork to get out of the way.

Yea because he now knows after Ruiz that he has 50% chin. He can’t take a punch anymore. He’s been wabbled in his last 4-5 fights. His chin is only @50%

AJ is still a massive threat he's lost his confidence not his ability. Imo Joshua makes a statement and starts getting that aggression and killer instinct back 💪💪👊👊👊👊

  • Will Hopley

Don't get me wrong I really cannot stand Tyson Fury after everything that's happened over the last two weeks, but let's not get it twisted, there's no way AJ is stepping in with Fury after Jermaine Franklin. AJ will be fighting Dillian Whyte next, cause he's finding his way back to the top of the division. As much as I don't want to see AJ v Whyte again, I feel like Eddie just says this stuff to generate more hype for AJ v Franklin

    • Black Pound
Black Pound 2 months ago +2

AJ is the biggest fight money fight for any heavyweight boxer, particularly Fury.
It would be a mega fight in the UK and would probably break all existing records.

    • Will Hopley
      Will Hopley 2 months ago

@Black Pound when did I say otherwise

    • Black Pound
Black Pound 2 months ago +1

@Will Hopley you didn’t, but AJ was willing to fight Fury before this fight. You said he’ll be fighting Whyte next, but totally disagree. As AJ said, he wants Fury, Joyce or Wilder next. That’s what I expect to see if he comes through this fight.
AJ hasn’t got that long left in the game and will want meaningful fights I’d expect.

    • liam wheelerl
      liam wheelerl Month ago

Why on earth would you not want to see AJ vs Whyte 2 the first one was a banger with great hype and I honestly feel like that is the fight that might bring the anger and the fire out of AJ once again!

    • Will Hopley
      Will Hopley Month ago

@liam wheelerl I don’t think it would though! AJ got his vengeance in the first fight and there’s absolutely no reason to see it again. If it was a close fight I’d get it but it was a clear and easy KO for AJ. Having said that, I don’t think he’s ready for Fury, Wilder or Joyce upon seeing how he dealt with Franklin. Maybe Whyte would be a good option now, but it wouldn’t have the same bad blood it had the first time.

  • Alexander Slater
Alexander Slater 2 months ago +1

It's hardly startling, Stevie Wonder could see he isn't at his peak
Eddie has already said, up next is dillian Whyte. He's only saying this about Fury to make people interested in Joshua I think

  • TempusV1
    TempusV1 2 months ago +3

I wouldn’t say that’s startling at all, he has 4 less belts than before and coming off two loses. AJ just needs to focus on fighting and not media deals and he will get back to his best.

I am not a massive AJ fan and can't stand Tyson fury, but AJ is massively disrespected for his achievments, while fury won't fight anyone that can move well in the ring and people say he is the best. What a load of rubbish. Usyk is far and away the best heavyweight boxer on the planet.

    • Christian James
      Christian James 2 months ago

Yeah he is for sure. Unfortunately probably won't have the chance to prove it. I think Usyk beats anyone.
Fury loses to plenty of fighters. He will avoid them. He already did even though the decision went Tysons way.
In his day Tyson is good.. but he can't ve Conistent. Joshua was consistent and 10x the man classless Fury is

Hearn is wrong, people haven’t shot down AJ because he’s a role model etc. Hearn has made him into an attractive commercial cash cow and when he talks people don’t like the change. Some people will like AJ being honest, some will feel a bit lost and this is their fault for marketing him as someone different than the reality

All this about Joshua carrying the weight and changing British boxing.
Nah mate, Lennox! I remember his fights were massive and he didn't buckle under pressure neither nor said I'm not a 12 round fighter.
Joshua needs to build again and I wish him well - but don't everyone go saying all of a sudden he's had it harder than anyone else.
Get in there, fight well; earn that cheddar.

    AJ Vs Fury wont happen

  • Robb
    Robb 2 months ago

AJ would get 40% against Fury like last time and AJ accepted that last time,, Fury is the A Side there was only 1 final issue to resolve so that should be easy to make,, AJ and Fury have signed the deal before Wilder forced that 3rd fight by arbitration and spoiled it.

    • Kayode Adeolu
Kayode Adeolu 2 months ago +1

At that point it was 50 50 as he was a champion it became 40 60 when he lost the 2nd time to Usyk

    • Robb
      Robb 2 months ago

@Kayode Adeolu yeah I mean when AJ lost his belts after the second fight with Usyk,, and Fury offered AJ a shot but Fury had to give AJ a deadline,, so Fury could still fight Usyk in April,, but AJ had no trainer he split with Robert Garcia and AJ coming off 2 losses it was the wrong time for AJ,, Frank Smith said they wouldn't of been ready for when Fury needed to be out anyway,, but AJ agreed 90% of the contract and he took the 40% that Fury offered him,, and that was throwing him a bone because he had a meltdown, and everyone was giving AJ stick (bad criticism) because he lost,, but Fury gave him a shot and tried to help him out because everyone was sayin he's done and stuff like where does AJ go from here,, but he's still a bigger name than Usyk without the belts,, so he'll get 40% against Fury based off AJ's worth,, We know AJ and Fury can sellout Wembley there Box Office Superstars,, but Usyk vs Whyte wouldn't sellout Wembley,, that's why AJ would definitely get about 40% against Fury even if AJ has no belts,, and they would get the fight made quickly this time,, it was 90% complete last time.

    • Jermaine Wilson
      Jermaine Wilson 2 months ago

The issue with Fury is that he messes people around and is unprofessional......Instead of rematching Wilder 3, he tried to avoid him to the point where Arbitration had to order that fight......He messed with AJ by negotiating with him knowing that he he had a legal case with Wilder.....Fury offers AJ a fight in Dec but would not budge on the date by 2 weeks..... Everyone blamed AJ but we all know who the problem was......Usyk has never had any problems with making fights until Fury.....AJ makes fights until ego gets in the way.....Fury is not a star he's fought Klitschko, Wilder 3 times, Whyte and Chisora 3.....Hes not dominated his era......USKY, AJ, Joyce are all outstanding plus Undisputed

  • FreeAgent
    FreeAgent 2 months ago +6

Stop talking. Make the fight with Wilder. Even without the belts It would be a bigger fight than Usyk vs Fury for the undisputed

  • Funky Brewster
    Funky Brewster 2 months ago

Eddie says after Saturday AJ is free to fight Fury, but is Fury going to wait around until December or next summer for AJ to be ready? Highly unlikely.
Fury will try and get a warm up with some mug that's willing to accept 20% and all of Fury's terms. Then the timing will be off again. And no way is Eddie agreeing terms with Fury, because Fury thinks he's the greatest thing to happen to boxing and Eddie thinks AJ is the greatest boxer that's ever lived.

  • Joe Bennie
    Joe Bennie Month ago

But ultimately Eddie has promoted him all the years as the “poster boy” , telling everyone under the sun who would listen he’s the best heavyweight around for years, a killer etc ???
He’s can’t be the best around if he can’t beat Usyk and got found out against Ruiz Jr in the first fight - Klitschko used to get criticised for being boring and negative so it’s ironic Joshua resorted to similar tactics in the Ruiz rematch and avoided having another toe to toe he couldn’t win

@Boylo2492 Lost 2 fights in the olympics, got the gold with some home cooking, should have been out in the first round. Always fought on home soil as a pro with everything in his favour, against mainly old men and sub par fighters. First fight on away soil was punched from pillar to post by ruiz, bounced off the canvas multiple times and quit. Ran for dear life in the rematch from a man who trained in his fridge and could barely move his feet. Stood on his head twice by Usyk and saved by an early bell from getting ko`d. Those are the facts. Thanks for proving my point. Stupid is as stupid does.
