This lady is a regular customer at the grocery store i work at, she was telling me about this and I about peed my pants!!! I was so jealous she got to meet Richard Rawlings. I love the show and Richard is absolutely drop dead gorgeous, hope to meet him one day 🥰.

I would get it running cleaned up and buffed out, for now, then maybe an LS swap / drive-line upgrade in the future. I have an 84, rust free Black, loaded with an LQ9, built 4L656E, and upgraded rear end, anti-spin and disk brakes, made the car come to life.

I’ve got a 90 step side single cab with almost zero rust sitting in the back.. and my cousin In Michigan has an iroc-z with maybe 1200 miles on it still has the plastic on the seats.. Great video.. That Iroc is pretty awesome! When I turned 16 my grandfather took me to a car dealership and told me that I could test drive any one car I wanted. I picked an RS Camero from 1988 that had a 400 swapped engine! Fun Fun Fun!

Wow, 2 cameros in one find, I'm a chevy person myself and used to own a cherry 1986 Iroq 350 5-speed. Definitely a blast to drive. Glad you found one that was taken care of, you'll love driving it.

That makes me miss my IROC...that sale was a bit awkward, and I was glad that Richard won the toss.

Arkansas is so underrated as far as rust free cars go! As long as they are native to it that is!

The doors are heavy because they needed to put in crash protection which was becoming mandatory in the 70s. It was basically a giant piece of side rail inside the door. The same you see on the highway.

I'm diggin that IROC-Z as I had a red '88 Ttop 350 auto back in the early '90s & I love that old Dodge Ram & that Dakota sittin near it as I grew up a MOPAR guy in the '60s & '70s, my grandpa sold them from 1946-1979 ✌💖☮

Would like to see Richard do a real good build up on a vehicle.

Besides the sticker on the underside of the hood, the rocker next to Italian Reject Out Cruising would say 5.7 if it had no number then it’s a 305. And the same with the right side of the rear facia cover!!

I have a black 87 IROC. Build it period correct how you would have modified it back in that time period. It looks clean, don't cut it up or take away what made you love the car in the first place. That's how mine is done. Tasteful upgrades. Going on 31 years of great times with it. It will hold it's own and still look like it belongs in the 80's still. Every time I get in it brings me back to the good old days!! Except now I don't have my mullet 🍻

I have looked everywhere for that exact iroc. Just for a memorial for my dad that passed away in his back in 1995 ☹️.All because a old man wasn't paying attention when he was backing out of his driveway. The ones I found I could never afford. I would do just about anything for this one.
