I like how Scott has used Scott’s Stash to talk about stuff that couldn’t get a full episode, pretty neat
It’s 20 minutes
It's TWENTY minutes. That's an episode of you ask me
This is more rambling and less skits than an episode, regardless of the runtime. I like it.
@Imasimplerugthe difference is this is 20 minutes of unscripted/unfiltered thoughts, whereas a scott the woz episode is 20+ minutes of thoroughly thought out, scripted, heavily edited content
(Also most scott the woz episodes as of late tend to focus on a more general subject than a single controller for a single console to keep things moving)
@Duck No excuse for him not to have an L button video
Scott's Stash is literally the main channel now
I'm glad. These videos are so nice to watch. Simple and to the point.
Wii U 20 hour video will have to wait
basically 😅
He made like 50 of these for charity.
That’s why output has been low. He’s only human afterall.
If you skip the Clubhouse Games videos like I do, yes
I really miss when Nintendo would just put a bunch of random ports and slots for things they’ll maybe do in the future since it always makes for a good story
I was kinda hoping we would get some more wacky stuff to plug into the switches rails
Third party joy cons @IrreversntRex
@Roblox Overloadobviously the rails are for controllers, not wacky
The IR sensor on the Joy-Con was basically made for Labo and *maybe* Ring Fit, it literally doesn't do more
@MarioFRC and Mario party. And 1-2 switch. That's it
Scott is the only guy who can make a 20 minute video about a controller.
Not controllers on general. Just about A controller
And it’s not even the main controller
he did get 23 minutes out of the L button after all
@Cash C Ha! A true legend.
i just found a 20 minute video about a controller from a different guy
Scott is the only person who could get comments about how he's the only person who could make a 20+ minute video about a controller
True
Scott is the only person who could get comments about how he's the only person who could get comments about how he's the only person who could make a 20+ minute video about a controller.
Scott is the only person who could get subcomments under comments about comments about how he's the only person who could make a 20+ minute video about a controller.

I moved to Japan six years ago and I miss my best friend everyday. I dunno why, but Scott kinda reminds me of my best friend. We would have really long, in depth conversations about pointless shit like this every single day. So I like leaving these videos rolling in the background sometimes while I go about my day. It's comforting in that way. Thanks Scott.
Beavis and Butt-Head is an American adult animated television series created by Mike Judge for MTV (seasons 1-8) and later Paramount+ (season 9 - present, as Mike Judge's Beavis and Butt-Head).The series follows Beavis and Butt-Head, both voiced by Judge, a pair of teenage slackers characterized by their apathy, lack of intelligence, lowbrow humor, and love for hard rock and heavy metal.
The characters originated in Judge's 1992 short film Frog Baseball, which was broadcast by MTV's animation showcase Liquid Television. After MTV commissioned a full series, Beavis and Butt-Head ran for seven seasons from 1993 to 1997. It was revived with an eighth season aired on MTV in 2011. A second revival, consisting of an initial two-season order, premiered on Paramount+ in 2022.
During its initial run, Beavis and Butt-Head received critical acclaim for its satirical, scathing commentary on society, as well as criticism for its alleged influence on adolescents. It produced various other media, including the theatrical film Beavis and Butt-Head Do America in 1996. A second film, Beavis and Butt-Head Do the Universe, was released in 2022 on Paramount+.
@モータルコンバット many jobs can require you to move around
@モータルコンバット Mind blowing revelation, I know, but not everyone moves here because they're a weeb. It's called a career my friend. Japan isn't some giant fantasy theme park to gawk at. It's just a place like anywhere else.
@o-toro 👏👏👏 Say it louder ! ! !
@モータルコンバット weirdo
20 minute video on a wii controller. Exactly what I wanted for my birthday. Thanks, Scott.
Happy birthday!! 🎉
It's your birthday today, cake and ice cream are on it's way
@Sven Nevs rats, rats, we are the rats,
Happy birthday SniktMaster • 1h ago ^^
Happy birthday yeeee
The analog triggers made Mario sunshine so much better. If they kept the mechanic available, inventive creators would make clever use of them. Bring them back 😢
Ps5 controller evolved this concept with haptic feedback triggers
The Gamecube controller had an analog trigger, but Mario Sunshine didn't really use it. It only detected 2 types of trigger squeeze, either light or heavy.
Every other console has it but not crap ass Nintendo with their underpowered bad-control hardware
Mike crap huh nintendo makes better systems and games period
The funny thing about Return to Dreamland specifically is that Kirby's Dream Collection, which used the exact same game engine, did allow for classic controller support for the Return to Dreamland challenge stages. That's the really bizarre part...
Then the Switch remake of Return to Dreamland showed how easy it would've been to map shaking the Wii remote to mashing the d pad/analog stick
Star Allies also maps the motion control super inhale to just holding b for an extended period of the time as well (the 3ds games might also do this but im not sure)
@UserMCSkull You're right, the 3DS games started the trend of making it activate after holding B for a bit
@Rando CommandoAmazing Mirror on GBA (also squeak squad on ds and maybe nightmare in dreamland on gba iirc) also activated the super inhale by holding B.
The Wii classic pro controller is actually quite comfortable and works really well, especially for retro games
Perfect to use for Wii and GameCube games on the Wii U.
Its perfect for the PS1 emulator on my Wii
Agreed 🤝
Mkwii is my favorite game to use it on
@Gigaboo, king of chads yes I always use it on mkwii
The reason analog triggers were never attempted again past the Wii Classic Controller is due to a lawsuit by a patent troll Anascape, where they sued Microsoft and Nintendo in 2006 over the violation of 12 different patents, 7 of which involved analog triggers. Nintendo lost this case in 2008, owing the troll 21mill dollars, but eventually appealed/won it in 2010. While this protects their rerelease of the gamecube controller (and I suppose the original Wii Classic), if they were to attempt a new controller with analog, they would likely face another lawsuit, with no guarantee of winning this time. Hope this helps!
Yeah, I also heard that Microsoft just eats the royalties, because at the end of the day they have the money to do so.
Imagine patenting a potentiometer. 🤦🏻♂
Notably, the Wii Classic Controller actually shares quite a few components with the GameCube controller- this makes them quite a popular choice to salvage for GameCube parts.
The joysticks don't feel the same though, it's not "ridged for your pleasure" like the Gamecube joystick is.
Scott slowly turning into Classic Game Room reviews, and I am here for it.
Waiting for the review of Truxton now.
@Billy Burns FROM THE INTERGALACTIC SPACESHIP ON ITS NEVERENDING QUEST TO REVIEW EVERYTHING.
Are ya?
Guys, I figured out the difference between Scott’s Stash and Scott the Woz…
It’s the lack of the blue border. That’s it. They’re equally charming, well edited, and funny. Maybe less scripted, but Scott flies off the cuff so naturally that I can barely even tell most of the time.
I remember having this accessory. Playing Mario Kart Wii with the Wheel felt kinda clunky for me. The Classic Controller made my experience much better.
Wii wheel was top tier gaming
I just used the Wiimote and Nunchuck
@Ian Finrirsame
I love the classic controller for the fact that they're compatible with the NES/SNES Classic Edition consoles, and that pressing the home button takes you to the game selection screen without having to get up and reset the console.
I like the vice versa of that, how the NES/SNES Classic Edition controllers are compatible with the Wii Remote, meaning you can also use them on the Wii to play VC games or anything else you can hook up a Wii Remote to (even the Switch with an adapter). I don't have the NES Classic console because it quickly became nearly impossible to get, but I did get the controller for it since they sold those on their own too, and I've used it with my Wii and even Switch quite a bit, it's of course perfect for playing NES Virtual Console games.
Til
Holding down + select on the NES/SNES controllers will also take you to the home menu without needing to reset the console ;)
@MoldyPond I think this is the case only if you hacked it correct? It doesn't work on stock systems.
@Venom Snake Nope no need for hacking, it's even in the digital instruction booklet :)
The classic controller pro is easily my favorite controller of all time. It’s so comfortable to use, and I love the gates for angling the sticks, and the noise they make when you rotate them in a circle is amazing.
If he can get 20 minutes outta this, he can do 22 on the L button no problem
Sign the petition for him to make a video about the l button
@New Super Nintendo Entertainment Cube Boy Deluxe we already did and it won
It's not that a video would be hard to make, just talk a bit about different L-buttons and potentially their use in many, many games, you would probably pretty easily pass 22 minutes. It's just the amount of effort you need to put in for this truly captivating topic.
@Mimi1001 He can show like 20 different consoles and talk about the shape and feel of the L button. It'll probably be fine.
Scott has a super power of finding a way to talk about random video game stuff for 20 plus minutes and make it interesting.
I think the cord coming out of the bottom on the Classic Controller actually makes sense, as you connect it to a Wii Remote, not the Wii itself. So chances are that the remote is just going to be laying around on your couch or something.
The analog triggers of the original WIi Classic Controller is useful on the Nintendont homebrew app (that plays GameCube games and supports Wii Classic Controllers). Even though they haven't had any use for mainstream Wii / WiiWare games (or someone can correct me if I'm wrong), it would have been nice for Wii Classic Controllers to have kept the analogs for us Nintendont users.
I remember when I was repairing one of my Wavebird Controllers, and struggling to find anything on my Wii to test to ensure the Analog triggers were still working properly. It was then I realized that my Classic Controller Pro didn’t have the Analog Triggers, yet the OG Classic Controllers did.
Perhaps some random WiiWare game, but I to this day can’t think of a single Wii game that utilized those Analog Triggers.
@Pwuz Looking up "Wii classic controller analog games", I found a comment on a GBATemp forum thread that lists some racing Wii games that were compatible with the Wii Classic Controller's Analog Triggers.
Dirt 2
Need for Speed: Undercover
Need for Speed: Nitro
Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit
NewoZero
Rotozoa
F1 2009
Along a similar line, the raphnet controller adapters also make use of the analog shoulder buttons (at least in the default "B" mapping), which is very nice
@ThunderDragonRandy well that explains why I struggled to find one. I’ve only heard of one of those games.🤣
@Pwuz There's a Wii homebrew app called Visual Controller Test (or something similar). It can test the inputs on any kind of controller you can hook up to a Wii.
I remember I bought a Wii Classic Controller Pro from a Walmart around 2015 in the Wii U days. They took a lot of time in checkout because the controller was removed from their database because they hadnt sold one in forever.
I have such fond memories of the Wii. I can't believe its almost 20 years since it came out, time goes by so fast. It also reminds me of the time my brother adopted a dog. Recently she passed away a year ago. RIP Xena.
Rip xena ❤
May she rest in dog heaven
What is even weirder is that you can mash the d-pad to do everything motion-controlled in Kirby's Return to Dream Land
Oh man, I loved the stick placement on the Wii U Pro controller! I find I'm much more sensitive to stick placement than I am button placement, so having both sticks in the optimal location was great. I didn't feel like having the buttons lower down impeded me at all.
I love the randomness of all these Scott's Stash videos, it makes my day. Only thing is when you wrap around the controller so tightly you damage the cords. Just a heads up. ❤
I love damaging the cords
The best part about kirby's dream collection supporting classic controller is that the challenge stage mode, which basically uses the same exact engine and gameplay as kirby's return to dreamland, supports the classic controller.
I actually had a classic controller with one of those covers and I actually really preferred it with it. Not because it added extra grip but it was just really soft to the touch and felt nice
I love that there are now TWO Scott the Woz channels for double the Woz content.
Really love these videos. Feels so good to see stuff I grew up with again. You're awesome Scott
I played most of my Wii U games using the Wii Classic Controller. I loved it.
A friend offered me a Wii classic controller while we played Shovel Knight on the Wii U together and I had 0 idea it existed before then, but I ended up loving it and thinking it was perfect for that game.
Only Scott could make a 20min video about the Wii classic controller and I love him for it
Ergonomically controller design continued to improve after the Super Nintendo. It did peak with the Super Nintendo as far as layout is concerned. Even Nintendo eventually returned to that layout.
Those NES and SNES classic controllers get a lot of use out of me ever since I got the 8bitdo dongle that allows me to Bluetooth them (as well as GameCube controllers) to PC and switch, so any time I play a PC 2D game, I’m usually using my snes classic controller, worked wonders for the FF Pixel Remasters.
I’m glad that controller connection is so supported.
I do the same thing with my Wii Classic Controller. Every button maps right to the Switch equivalent - it's super nice
The Wii Classic Pro Controller is one of the greatest and sh*ttiest controllers I own and I absolutely love it for that
Bruh
The wii classic and wii pro are 2 different controllers. The pro has thighs 🐢
Just know that the controller works great. It will continue to work even when the Wii remote ran out of batteries. As long as you never detach the controller from the Wii remote, that controller will work just like a normal wired controller.
The F are you talking about? It literally has the best d-pad ever made, it's a superior SNES controller with more buttons and an amazing grip. It is unironically the best controller for 2D games that's ever existed and likely will ever exist, and it's pretty good for every 3D game I've used it for too (Xenoblade and the Last Story mostly).
@xg223 aside from the 6 button Genesis controller with 2 shoulder buttons by Retrobit.
The classic wii controller having hexagonal cutouts for the sticks really supports your hypothesis that it might've originally been meant to be used for GC games. Maybe they ran into technical problems getting GC input to work through the wii mote.
I love the classic controller. It definitely needed to be used more
I still maintain that the GameCube controller was one of the best controllers ever. I love the analog easing of the trigger + the buttonpress at the end. That needs to be a thing nowadays. I just wish the GC controller had clickable thumbsticks, and a left shoulder button.
The controller with glove was sold at my local Walmart for the same price as the original. I have used the cover to this day and it has really helped keep mine white.
Shoutout to Ben 10: Protector of Earth for showing a diagram of the Classic Controller in the instruction manual despite it not being compatible with the game itself!
Love this thing. I had the original white classic controller that I got for virtual console games, and the black classic controller pro that I got bundled with Monster Hunter Tri. While it is a bit light and insubstantial, the fact that kept costs down by leaving most of the electronics to the Wii Remote was a fantastic choice.
I can’t wait for Scott to do the nunchuck episode where he explains that the Wii nunchuck is just a wired n64 joystick
i love scott's scripted, lore based videos so much, but i really love the lofi rambling style of videos.
I remember getting Monster Hunter Tri on a bit of a whim and I couldn’t believe it came with a controller. Loved that game, that bundle, and the Wii in general 👍
I quite like the original Classic Controller with the Nyko Classic Controller Grip. Not only does it add grips to make it more comfortable, but it attaches the Wiimote in a holster thing that clips into the two slots on the back of the Classic Controller, making this whole contraption a one-piece controller that has the weight it lacked when it was the Classic Controller on its own. It's a real shame absolutely no games used the analog triggers though. I had no problems with the close sticks or the shoulder button arrangement, so I never regarded the Pro controller as an upgrade.
I actually vastly prefer non-analog triggers. I just really like the clicky and snappy feel of the switch's shoulder buttons. And for the games I'm playing, analog has never been necessary. So yeah that's my take wow
Classic controller pro was one of the most (if not the most) ergonomic feeling controller I've held. Used it for PS1 emulation via a Mayflash adapter all the time 11 years ago.
A shame it lost out on the analogue triggers. And it never got the thumbstick buttons.
18:50 there was also something sold at Walmart at one point that was a combination of these two bundles. It was a package a lot like the one on the left, except it also included a Wii Points card. It was also absurdly easy to get the Wii Points card out of the package without even opening it, so many of those bundles had the card stolen.
I like this a lot better than the classic controller pro. The analog triggers are a nice touch, and it's great for mario kart wii as that game treats L/R as the triggers rather than ZL/ZR, plus you're using the Analog stick and D-pad simultaneously a lot which is harder to do on the pro.
God I love consoles, accessories, and all their quirks and nuances. I live for this content.
The Classic Pro probably remains my favourite controller to this day.
Kinda wanna collect all 5 versions of them
Because of those ergonomics, the regular Wii Classic Controller felt like such a missed opportunity. For some reason, I really crave the SNES design for modern controllers, and were the sticks and Z triggers adjusted, the regular Classic Controller could've satisfied immensely.
As someone who loves the Wii console quite a bit and it happened to be my dad's favorite console of all time, I can attest to wanting more controller options for most of the Wii console lineup. As someone who suffers from a moderate case of cerebral palsy affecting my entire left side using Anything not in the shape of a GameCube controller Xbox controller or a PlayStation controller is incredibly hard for me. And it's also so hard to find games for the Wii that are compatible with the GameCube controller. I even recently got a very old and beating up classic controller from a friend but I have no Wii games that support it and I can't find any worth playing because most of the Wii games are so expensive. My main goal for the Wii is to get Zelda Twilight Princess for the GameCube and finally complete the game that my dad started 11 years ago but never had a chance to finish.
The Classic Controller is pretty much the most versatile Nintendo controller, considering you can use it with most Virtual Console content on Wii and Wii U, most Wii U games, and even the Switch if you have a USB adapter. I also think it works with GameCube games on Nintendont, so I suppose those analog triggers do get some use after all, assuming you're willing to jailbreak the console.
I use it for GC and it is the perfect modern GC controller for 2006 lol
I remember being a teenager and seeing of these brand new sealed in its packaging on the ground near a mall dumpster. Took that thing home and I still have it today lol
I've heard the reason for putting wires on the bottom of the controller is to increase longevity of it. The idea is that if you pulled the controller too hard you would torque the wire at the strong part rather than on the weak connection to the controller. I mean, like you said, the Dreamcast had it on the bottom much like they also had hall effect sticks.
How many people do you know that needed to throw out a Dreamcast controller? I mean I played the hell out of Sonic Adventure 1 and 2 with nearly 1000 hours on them (I had a chao garden obsession) and still have that controller.
It works even better in the other direction. You can use the Wii Classic Controller on the Mini Classics and the home button takes you back to the game selection
Since months I’m looking for replacement rubber pads for the classic controller pro, sold out everywhere. I still play Tatsunoko and Muramasa regularly. And damn, this controller is just perfect for the Virtual Console and all the lovely SNK stuff.
If I had to take a guess as to what that clasp was for... it was probably the same idea as the Nyko thing. I think Nintendo wanted this thing to be able to fit into an ergonomic grip thing, similar to the Classic Controller Pro... which might be why the idea was canned.
I love the port on the bottom on the Wii Remote. So many possibilities with just one hole!
Too bad one of my wiimotes has a LEGO instuction manual stuck inside it
🤨📸
The Wii remote was Nintendo's second controller to ever be made to have ports on the controller itself. The first was the N64 controller.
I love that some accessories like the dj hero turntable work with it directly without the need for adapters like the PS3 version. I absolutely hate adapters because when buyind second hand people always lose them and make the accessory useless
@モータルコンバット needle nose pliers or tweezers could help with that.
I never got a classic controller for my wii back when it was still the console of the generation but I did get the dragon quest wii classic controller a year or two ago which is absolutely amazing in every sense of the word
I’ve always loved this controller. It also works on the NES and SNES classic.
Opening my Wii on Christmas morning with the Classic Controller, browsing the Wii Shop Channel, and playing Super Mario Bros. with my dad is a core memory.
ive always liked that nintendo doesn't have analog triggers, they only ever get used to drive cars and any other time they feel mushy and add a weird grey area where they may or may not be reading as pressed depending on the game.
Didn't have CC as a kid, but bought a used one like a year ago. Chose the OG style specifically, cause it's more unique and fun. If I really need something bigger and with horn grips I can always use either GC controller or even DS4 via homebrew.
Nintendo no longer implements analog triggers into their controllers as a company owns the patent for the technology behind them, Sony and Microsoft pay a fee to include them. They only included them on GameCube controllers still as I guess they think that they have to.
A GameCube controller without analog would feel so weird considering the extremely long travel distance until 100%
I think Mario Party on Switch was extremely heavily built around the joycons and how they looked. I can think of a few minigames off the top of my head that just would be much harder or even just annoying with the pro controller. It certainly made more sense than having no online play for ages
The reasoning for Nintendo abandoning the analogue triggers is due to patents that Sony and Microsoft had on analogue triggers, during the GC era, Nintendo essentially had to pay license for the controllers, similar to how Neversoft and Harmonix had to pay to produce their guitar controller due to an arcade cabinet. Nintendo as far as I can tell, has not patented any analogue triggers since and has abandoned them for digital shoulder buttons. Even the reproduction Gamecube controllers made by Nintendo and Power A lack analogue triggers because of this!
When I was a kid, I wanted one of these, and the dude working at gamestop talked my mom out of getting it. I never forgave that man 🙃
I use a 8Bitdo GBros adapter with one of my Wii Classic controllers, also works quite nicely
This controller works on the mini consoles they released too. I used mine on the mini snes and the home button works!
SNES classic controller plugged into wii remote was how I was able to “properly” play Super Mario All Stars on the Wii.
I used to play this NHL game on my wii with the classic controller and for some reason that game played smooth as butter with that original classic controller. I loved that thing
I have an adapter (don't remember where I got it) that allows you to plug Wii Classic Controllers into the SNES console. So I played through Terranigma and Secret of Evermore (SNES games with no modern ports) using the Wii Classic Controller. It was great because I had no actual SNES controllers remaining that don't have problems
Let's not forget there's also many games that allows controller remapping. I for example use a switch pro GameCube controller. It has all the Bells and whistles like a normal switch pro controller just with a GameCube shell.
I remember getting the black controller with the handles to play Xenoblade and Tales of Graces on my Wii. As much as I love the Wii Remote + Nunchuck combination (my favorite style of playing Tenkaichi Budoukai 3/Sparking Meteor), some games are just better with traditional controllers.
Too bad both of the analog sticks got extremely loose with time and now don't register input anymore.
The stick layout on the Wii U pro controller feels like another classic case of Nintendo being different for the sake of being different.
With an adapter, you can use the Classic Controllers on Switch and they work great mimicking a Pro Controller...even the home button works! Perfect for the Switch Online Apps to play retro games!
Plugging in the classic controller to an NES Classic or SNES Classic is great too. Home button takes you back to the main menu without having to get up and click the reset button!
I remember playing all of Bayonetta with this controller on my Wii U... and feel pain in my hands afterwards....
Ah the memories.... can't wait to play again with it, I miss it :(
Also, Metroid other M would be so much better if it had classic controller support...
This controller is awesome, it's basically a Super Nintendo controller with sticks
Perfect for emulators, especially GameCube if you don't like the actual GCN controller
I literally played every game that supported it and only used it. I couldn’t play smash on another controller if I had tried back then. And I loved it for fire emblem. Will go down in time as my favorite controller
I actually used this on my switch for a lot. One of My favorite controllers, it just misses a few needed inputs for modern gaming.
How do you use Wii controllers on a Switch? Never heard of that being possible.
how?
@Philipp Mayr Just searched it. 8-bit Doe makes adapters to let you use Wii classic and Gamecube controllers on Switch. Might get one myself, seems cool.
@Noodleman exactly 👍 I also used that dongle to get my PS4 controller to work on the switch. It worked so perfectly for botw until I discovered bootlegged amiibo NFC tags which needed joycons specifically.
Anyhoozle, the classic controller is great in conjunction with a joycon by your side for the missing buttons. I beat Pikmin 3 with my wife using the classic controller 😎
@The Scripflip Network I got that 8bitdo adapter to use my Wii Remote and accessories on my Switch, but I found out it also works on PC so I also use it to hook up my Wii stuff or even my Switch controllers to my laptop too. You can get a lot of mileage out of just one of those adapters, definitely work it.
I remember buying this controller at launch. Loved it, but I didn't have a game for it for a long time.
I had a third party Gamecube controller with a wireless dongle that could plug in as a classic controller or as a Gamecube controller. It was great.
Kinda shocked how Scott did not mention the prominence of the Classic Controller (especially the Pro) in the MKWii community.
Because we’re getting to that point where the Wii is starting to have a nostalgic value, it’d be so cool if PowerA or some other company released a Nintendo Switch wireless version of this controller too, even if it’s just for the nostalgia
I used to always want the Wii classic controller. It's kinda nostalgic seeing someone showing it off for the first time.
Scott raally got 20 minutes out of a controller, he can get atleast 10 minutes out of the L button
I love this controller. Still own the three that my dad bought with our wii when it released and last year I finally got around buying a fourth. Funny story, my dad bought them without knowing that they needed wiimotes to function.
Think about it: The reason they called both controllers “Classic” was to throw shade on the competition while pushing the new motion controls as modern/current/future. “Classic” makes perfect sense in that context where you want people to think of the others as the old way.
8:28 I remember seeing advertisements in gaming magazines for an accessory to the Classic Controller that would add on traditional handles to it while also having something on the back that you could wrap the cord around and even snap the Wiimote in place (something I wish was added to the Classic Controller Pro). I don't think I ever saw it in stores myself, and I'm starting to wonder if it ever officially released.
I believe that "this thing" here was meant to help attach the accessory.
Edit: 11:00 ....oh.
I also forgot it was by NYKO and not officially licensed by Nintendo.
Well, f#%$ me.
Love this content man cant get enough of cool video game stuff
I love this channel so much haha. It’s for all of us that know way too much about these little things
I’m praying for Scott The Woz channel to return one day!
The wii u video is coming
@spen I hope so!
I actually started to prefer this controller over the gamecube for smash because I found short hopping easier with it
Its such a shame that the switch is not retro compatible with the wii remote, the classic controller pro is actually amazing, the dpad is great and the stick has an octagonal gate, which is pretty handy for games in which diagonal inputs are important
The reason why the gamecube controllers is that basically Nintendo had a really simplistic approach to Backwards compatibility with the Wii. When the Wii ran in gamecube mode, it would just literally turn off all of the wii-specific parts of the console and turn itself into a regular gamecube. Thus the ports and memory cards were only accessible on gamecube mode (except if the current OS included hacks to access those ports somehow, which they didn't bother adding to most Wii-only things on the system).
I have both the Classic and the Classic Pro. And I do agree that the Gamecube and Classic Controllers should’ve worked similarly between the Main Menu, Virtual Console games, and Gamecube games. It’s not fair for anyone who lost a Wii Remote or GC Controller.
